Enough Already: Create Success on Your Own Terms

Rate this book
In a world where success means owning a company before your 30th birthday, Mike Iamele seemed to have it all. By the age of 24, he was already making piles of money at his own public relations firm. And it was killing him. Literally. When a stress-induced illness brought him to his knees, he began to question everything he believed about success. And everywhere he turned, he met other young entrepreneurs who were praying to the temples of money, status, and power—and making themselves stressed and sick.

Mike decided he'd had enough. He was ready to find success on his own terms.

Mike Iamele now has a thriving practice as a wellness coach, and in the pages of this book he’ll help you figure out what a successful life looks like for you—and how to get it. Through a process not unlike the classic hero’s journey, Mike will show you how to create the success of your dreams—whether it’s your first million by 22 or just a happy life.

In Enough Already, Iamele challenges us to take back control of our lives and to chart our own successful path to happiness by considering:

Have you had enough? Are you working yourself numb fulfilling someone else's idea of success?
What would you stay up all night doing or talking about if you could? What if you could get paid for that?
What if you could create a successful life around what you love?
What if you could change the world?
What’s stopping you?

Mike Iamele's "Enough Already: Create Success on Your Own Terms" is light, refreshing and an easy, quick read. As someone who gauges 'success' by happiness instead of financial gain, I found this book to be a breath of fresh air. It's full of useful advice and is well-written. I would definitely recommend it to people, especially those who are considering future occupational opportunities and those trying to figure out exactly what it is they want to do with their life (exactly what do they consider as successful). I believe this would also be a great read for college and/or high school students.
My copy of this book was obtained from the Goodreads website.

A story based on the author’s life experiences. At 24 he owned his own public relations firm and was making piles of cash. When a stress related illness hit him, he started questioning what being successful really means. He took his success in his own hands and now works as a wellness coach in his own thriving practice. He aims to help others find what success means for them, and how to take back control of your own success.

I found this book to have a happy tone, but also way too cliché. I couldn’t even finish the book. I liked the illustrations and quirky and enjoyable, but it was pretty much the only thing I liked about it.

This book has been a very helpful guide along my journey toward self-employment. I particularly appreciated the "challenges" at the end of each chapter.

I was looking forward to Enough Already by Mike Iamele. The book deets gave me the impression that this was something fresh, modern and interesting.

I was pretty disappointed. The talk of Zuckerberg and Sean Parker lulled me in, but I quickly dipped out and sadly have to say, I didn't even finish the book.

The book has a pretty happy tone and refers to the author's own reasons for reflecting on success and what's important but it was all a little too 'Tim Robbins' for me. The moment I read 'You have to lose yourself to find yourself'. I was out.

If you are American (alot of the book refers to the American way of life) and not read a 'guide to success' book before, you might get something out of it. The graphics and illustrations are quirky and fun, by far the best bits of the book for me.

1 star from me (for the graphics and illustrations)

Mike Iamele has a way of putting things in a different light, a way of telling you what you didn't know you needed to hear exactly when you need to hear it. He's not only a guiding force, but he's real. He's easy to relate to and understand because he doesn't put any walls up. I can tell this book is Mike Iamele speaking from his heart, and the fact that he has helped me, and at times forced me, to realize new things about myself makes this a success for him and me. Success on our own terms. It's a better idea of success than any I've ever heard, and through this book I know I can achieve it for myself. Thank you, Mike, and congratulations on this wonderful book!
