Archer “Monk” Carmichael learned the hard way that control is the only thing keeping a man alive. After captivity stripped him down to instinct and discipline, he rebuilt himself—stronger, sharper, untouchable…a ghost on Blackout Sierra Team, trained for brutal terrain and impossible missions. The mountain doesn’t scare him. Neither does the danger closing in. But the stubborn, sharp-tongued woman he pulls from a snowbound nightmare? She gets under his skin in a way no enemy ever has. And for a man who survives by keeping his distance…wanting her is the most dangerous risk of all.
Jolie Simms is used to handling things on her own. But getting stranded in the wrong place at the worst time drops her into a world of missions and secrets she never asked for. Archer might be the one keeping her safe, but his commanding presence, quiet intensity, and the way his gaze lingers on her like he’s already claimed her? That’s a different kind of danger—and one she’s not sure she can outrun.
The only thing more dangerous than the threat on their heels is the tension that could destroy them first. As the danger closes in, giving in to what’s building between them might be the only way they survive. Because out here, it’s not just their lives on the line…it’s the one thing neither of them ever planned to risk—their hearts.
This steamy SEAL romantic suspense is packed with danger, forced proximity and a battle-hardened operative who doesn’t let anyone get close—until her. This is the first in a new series featuring a black ops military group, based under an abandoned ski resort. And if that sounds a bit odd, well, let’s just say it seems to be a theme with this book. Be prepared for lots of spoilers, folks.
Archer is asked to join this special team and his first mission is to rescue a stranded woman. Jolie has gotten herself stuck on a tower in the middle of a blizzard. The absurdity of her situation made me think they should have just left her there. Talk about TSTL.
Once she is rescued and brought into the super-secret base, instead of gratitude, she’s immediately demanding to call her family. There are white-out conditions, but she doesn’t care. They tell her she might be stuck there for two weeks. She isn’t happy.
They give her a room and pretty much leave her to her own devices. It’s a top secret base, with top secret operatives, and yet Jolie is allowed to wander freely, and without escort, through the place.
She and Archer, of course, have an immediate, intense connection, and the two are hitting the sheets in no time. You would have thought there might be some sort of no fraternization policy, but you’d be wrong. Everyone knows, and no one cares.
Despite the group not being able to get Jolie back to her hotel, they somehow manage to fly off on a helicopter to stop some bad guys. Then go off on another mission. There is apparently a lot of dangerous stuff going on around this old ski lodge. And while Archer and the guys are off saving the world, Jolie is sitting around the base unsupervised.
The guys return from their mission with various injuries. Jolie patches them all up. Not the medic. Not an on-site doctor, which would seem expected, pretty much essential, for a base like this. Nope, the civilian does it.
Of course Archer and Jolie fall madly in love and are willing to break all the rules to stay in contact. Never mind that Archer signed on to this team knowing he couldn’t have a personal life.
Jolie is eventually returned to her hotel, where she is almost immediately kidnapped by some guy. Not sure who he was. It got a bit confusing. He had been watching Jolie back in her hometown, but was somehow part of another plan? By this point I was pretty much checked out on the story, so I wasn’t paying close attention.
Archer has a feeling something isn’t right when he can’t contact Jolie and goes to his CO for help. Now remember, he has orders not to contact Jolie, but somehow even the CO doesn’t mind and gets everyone searching for her.
The rescue is pretty simple, and then somehow they are inviting Jolie to live at the base and work as the chef? Huh? She *did* work at a restaurant, but as the manager, not in the kitchen. And shouldn’t they have someone from the military filling that role already?
Sigh.
Oh, and as if that isn’t enough, the story seems to end on some sort of cliffhanger. So thanks for that non-existent warning in the blurb.
And I’ve only touched on some of the things that stood out to me as odd. I don’t know how all of this made sense to the author. Or, if it didn’t, how she expects readers to put up with it. It was just so utterly ridiculous. The writing style isn’t bad, at least. But when you’re expected to ignore so much, and suspend your disbelief so often, the fact that the author wrote it nicely just doesn’t cut it.
I hate leaving bad reviews. But when it seems the author just didn’t care enough to make the story worth the reader’s time, I feel like I need to be honest for the sake of other readers. So my recommendation is to proceed at your own risk with this one.

Hard Pursuit is the first book of the SEAL Team Blackout Sierra series. The author delivers a masterfully paced, high-stakes romantic suspense novel. This is a captivating read with a complex storyline and intense romance. It masterfully weaves a deeply personal journey of trust, vulnerability, and love with intrigue. Hard Pursuit is a compelling read for those who enjoy well-developed characters and an emotionally rich romantic arc.
Archer “Monk” Carmichael and Jolie Simms share a profound, beautifully balanced relationship. The forced-proximity trope is masterfully written to strip away the emotional armor of two deeply guarded individuals. A former undercover FBI agent, Archer is a man rebuilt from broken pieces. Having survived a brutal year-long captivity by Cipher, his psychological survival depends entirely on hyper-discipline, emotional detachment, and an unyielding need for control. He is a self-imposed ghost within his new SEAL team. Jolie’s strength is rooted in selflessness and domestic resilience. After the death of her parents, she sacrificed her own youth to raise her three younger siblings, working her way up from waitress to restaurant manager. When Archer rescues Jolie from a high-altitude tower during a sudden blizzard, Petrova establishes a brilliant irony: Archer, a man who has just escaped a year of literal confinement in darkness, is forced into a two-week confinement in a secret underground military bunker with a vibrant, sharp-tongued woman. Despite Archer’s intimidating, quiet intensity and commanding presence, Jolie feels safe in his company. Jolie acts as an unintentional balm to Archer's trauma and truly sees him. Her natural, nurturing maternal instincts provoke an unexpected kindness from Archer. The connection and chemistry between them are intense and undeniable, and in the quiet moments, their understanding and willingness to let their guards down elevate the romance. The author has crafted a romance where the hero and heroine don't merely "fall in love"—they actively provide the missing pieces to each other's recovery.
Hard Pursuit by Em Petrova* was an easy 5-star read for me 🔥❄️ From the very beginning, the story pulled me in with nonstop suspense, emotional tension, forced proximity, and chemistry that felt intense from the first interaction between Archer and Jolie. The combination of action and romance made this one of those books that was impossible to put down.
Archer was such a compelling hero because beneath his controlled, emotionally guarded exterior, there’s a deeply protective and vulnerable side that slowly comes through as the story unfolds. His traumatic past and Blackout Sierra background added so much emotional weight to his character, and I loved watching Jolie slowly become someone capable of breaking through his walls. The way he cared for and protected her without losing his intense edge made him impossible not to love.
Jolie brought so much strength and balance to the story. She’s independent, stubborn, emotionally resilient, and refuses to simply stand on the sidelines while danger surrounds them. I really enjoyed that she challenged Archer emotionally while also holding her own in high-stakes situations. Their relationship constantly balanced attraction, tension, trust, and emotional vulnerability, which made every scene between them feel emotionally charged.
One of my favorite things about this book was how well it balanced suspense with romance. The danger and action kept the pacing fast and addictive, but the emotional connection developing between Archer and Jolie gave the story real depth underneath all the tension. Every mission, confrontation, and quieter emotional moment kept building the relationship naturally while still maintaining the high-stakes atmosphere.
Overall, Hard Pursuit was such an addictive romantic suspense read filled with action, emotional depth, protective instincts, and chemistry that completely takes over the story ⭐️ Archer and Jolie’s relationship kept me fully invested from beginning to end, and this is definitely a book I’ll still be thinking about long after finishing it. Looking forward to reading the next book in the series!
Archer Carmichael is recovering from being held in the dark by a monster for over a year. Former undercover FBI agent Archer was captured by Cipher. Archer received counseling at the Black Heart Ranch and is ready to restart his life as a new member of the Seal Team Blackout Sierra. He will be working with the ‘all business’, Commanding Officer Cannon and his cocky teammates, Rome, O, Rivers, Younger, Rorke & Townie. Archer is withdrawn, a little odd, and is getting teased by his teammates until they learn the details of his horrible time in captivity. In this book, they become a solid team with Archer providing so much insight into their missions. On Archer's first solo call, he’s sent to rescue a tourist… stuck on a tower… while taking a selfie! The team has lots of laughs at this idiotic woman's antics. Jolie Simms is on an adventure paid for by her loving siblings. Jolie wants a super spectacular picture to send to them, but then the weather changes, and now she’s in danger and alone. Then a Mountain man climbs up the tower to rescue her. Holy smokes, the guy is HOT! Archer takes her back to the secret, hidden military bunker, and with the bad weather shutting things down, she is stuck there. Jolie can’t even make a phone call, and she’s treated as a bother by everyone except Archer, who is kind to her. They connect, become sort of friends, and then much more. Jolie is a strong, wonderful mothering figure. After all, from age 16, she raised her 3 now-adult siblings. There’s plenty of action as the team is called out on several missions, and Jolie may have a stalker. The bunker's location is a hoot, and with the mountains, it will all provide great storylines. I love Em Petrova’s military stories. I received a free ARC of this story from Booksprout; this is my opinion. Linda
Archer Carmichael was previously held hostage by the terrorist Cypher. He managed to stay alive purely on instinct and stubborn grit. After being rescued, he agreed to go to Black Heart Ranch to rebuild himself and heal. Although emotionally and physically healed, he was still lost regarding the next steps in his live. He needed to feel like he belonged. He then entered Black Heart Tactical Training Facility and was given the opportunity to become a member of SEAL Team Blackout Sierra. With this group of men, maybe he will feel the band of brotherhood and grounding that his soul needs.
Jolie Simms is a woman who happened to be at the wrong place at the wrong time. After the death of her parents, she spent the last decade raising her 3 siblings. Always putting everyone else first, her siblings collected money so that she could do something entirely for herself-- take a trip and go on her first adventure. Never did she picture this adventure including getting stuck on a tower, being rescued by a hot guy, meeting a ghost op SEAL Team and falling in love.
Their lives couldn't be more different and further apart. Will they figure out a way to be together and have it all, or will both lose the one thing in life that truly makes them feel alive- each other.
As soon as I saw that this book would be about Archer Carmichael, I couldn't wait to tear into it! He had made appearances in a few previous books and I was intrigued. I knew that once we finally received his story that he would be a complex, fascinating man who felt and loved deeply. His story did not disappoint!
I'm excited to read the upcoming books in this series and to learn Jolie and Stina's connection to Jolie's kidnapper. I'm already trying to guess which Sierra team member Stina will be paired up with. ;)
This is the start to another yet another intriguing series!
A fabulous start to the new series "SEAL Team Blackout Sierra" with a charismatic team that has each other's backs. This first book was about their newest member, Archer Carmichael, who had been held hostage by Cipher for over a year. The team even had some dealing with some things that screamed Cipher or Cipher trained even though Cipher was in jail. Archer was man on point a lot, since he trained at the new Black Heart Security Facility and was top of his class. Plus, he had the most experience with Cipher. Also, being the newest he had to rescue the tourist, Jolie Simms that got caught on a tower in a blizzard. She was vacation from Chicago, since her siblings took up a collection, so she could have an an adventure. Her parents died when she was sixteen, and she quit school went to work to raise her three younger siblings. She worked her way up at a restaurant from waitress to manager in twelve years. The first thing she noticed about Archer was that she felt safe and protected. There seemed to be an instant attraction between them, and the CO kept asking Archer to do things for Jolie to make her happy, since she was stuck in their base quarters, until the storm decides to pass that could be as long as two weeks. They would not even let her call her family. Plenty of great romance with the ever present suspense, mystery, and intrigue. Caution once you start this book you will not be able to put it down.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ What a fantastic start to the SEAL Team Blackout Sierra series!
From the very first page, I was hooked by Archer and Jolie’s story. Archer is the ultimate wounded warrior—strong, disciplined, and determined to keep everyone at arm’s length after surviving unimaginable captivity. He has built walls so high that no one can get close, making it all the more satisfying to watch Jolie slowly break through them.
Jolie was exactly the kind of heroine I love. She’s independent, capable, and refuses to be intimidated by Archer’s gruff attitude. Their banter, chemistry, and constant push-and-pull kept me turning pages. The forced proximity added just the right amount of tension, and the sparks between them were impossible to ignore.
The suspense was equally engaging. Between the snowy setting, dangerous missions, and threats closing in from all sides, there was never a dull moment. The action kept my heart racing while the romance kept me emotionally invested.
What I loved most was watching Archer learn that survival isn’t the same thing as living. His journey from isolated warrior to a man willing to risk his heart was beautifully done. Jolie challenged him in all the right ways, and together they made an unforgettable couple.
If you love protective SEAL heroes, strong heroines, forced proximity, romantic suspense, and plenty of action mixed with heart, this book is a must-read. I can’t wait to see what happens next with the rest of the Blackout Sierra team!.

Newest SEAL Blackout team was called Sierra, based in mountains. After having survived Cipher captivity Black Heart Tactical Training facility, Archer Carmichael was offered position with Black Heart Security but decided to join Black Ops program in Sierra Mountains and was called out for civilian rescue mission for woman trapped at ranger station tower in white-out conditions. Jolie Simms was on vacation adventure trip funded by her siblings as she had dropped out of school to keep them out of foster care and raised them after their parents' deaths...Stupidity took her onto tower to get better panoramic picture, and snowstorm worsening got her stuck...Jolie rethinking life choices when heard snowmobile and Archer helping to get her off tower, grateful despite breaking her own rules about going to another location with a stranger...especially when taken with hood over head to secret base under defunct ski resort...Archer was struck by her beauty and her frustration of not being able to leave or contact her siblings as he was taken and held captive for 13 months...and tried to let her know she was safe with them and would contact her family to let them know she was safe but snowed in...but will close proximity have him reconsidering being a dead man walking??? You will need to read the story to see if any hope of Jolie and Archer making their attraction permanent...I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This author provides us with a well-paced story line and captivating characters to pull the reader in as the tension racks up. Archer Carmichael survived a lengthy captivity as a hostage and learned that strict control is what it takes to stay alive. Now he gets the "impossible" missions on the Blackout Sierra team since he clearly knows how to deal with multiple types of impossible. But sent out to deal with a woman who needs his help, stuck on a steel observation tower in a raging blizzard (as she tries to extend her camera arm far enough out to take a picture!) seems to be a larger challenge than his usual assignments. Jolie Simms is a strong, independent woman who draws her strength from an entirely different source than Archer, as she has sacrificed so much for family at a very young age and deals quite capably now with the trouble she encounters. When Archer protects her, she is not initially quite comfortable with how she feels around him, although she instinctively sees him as someone she knows she can trust to keep her safe. But it doesn't end here. When Jolie is finally taken back to her hotel, she gets kidnapped by a man with a gun. What will Archer be able to do to rescue her? And will it all be enough to keep them alive and begin to strengthen both of them further as they begin to provide the particular type of healing each has needed? More is coming, so don't lose track of this amazing series!
An interesting and unique read. From past experience with Em Petrova’s writing I was expecting a book more focused on the military aspect and more suspense.
Archer is a ghost operative in a secret military unit and his first solo mission for the team is to reduce a woman from a tower during a blizzard. Jolie was in the wrong place at the wrong time. It isn’t mentioned how she got out to the tower and only that she wanted to take a picture to send to her siblings to show she was having an adventure.
The base is in the mountains under an abandonment ski resort. Jolie is told she can’t leave for maybe two weeks due to whiteout conditions yet the team leaves more than once via helicopter to hunt down bad guys. The storyline about the terrorist who held Archer captive for many months is the focus of the team but that storyline doesn’t have a conclusion and seems to just drop off the radar towards the end of the book.
Close proximity sparks an attraction between Archer and Jolie, and they both catch feelings despite Archer’s position on the team requiring him to not have anyone he could worry about losing so he can focus on the team’s missions.
The book was interesting, but a surprising number of storyline threads were left dangling at the end.
I received a free ARC from the author; and I am voluntarily leaving an unbiased review.
It’s a unique romantic suspense novel where the hero belongs to a covert ghost-ops team, while the heroine simply ends up in the wrong place at the wrong time.
Archer has spent months as a prisoner, and after discovering he can heal himself, he joins a ghost-ops unit — a somewhat ironic career choice, but it works within the story. Meanwhile, Jolie, finally taking an adventure for herself after years of raising her three younger siblings alone, becomes stranded in a remote location during a snowstorm. Archer is assigned to rescue her, but the worsening weather forces Jolie to remain at Sierra’s headquarters for a while.
The setup is definitely intriguing and unconventional. The story leans more heavily into romance and emotional healing than suspense, focusing on the characters’ past trauma and growing connection. The author’s writing style is also distinctive, with many paragraphs consisting of only one or two sentences, which gives the narrative a sharp, fast-paced rhythm.
The ending feels somewhat cliffhanger-ish, and the practical side of Jolie and Archer’s relationship is… unconventional, to say the least.

Em Petrova has created an exciting new series entitled SEAL Team Blackout Sierra featuring Hard Pursuit as book one. WOW! This story’s heroine is Jolie Simms, a strong woman, who meets life’s toughest battles with a sense of responsibility few teens possess. After the loss of her parents, she took on the job of raising her three siblings, even though she was a child herself. There was no equivocation; they were all she had left of family, and she would not let them go into the system. Now twenty-eight, Jolie encounters Archer Carmichael, the newest member of the Navy SEAL Sierra Team. He commits the ultimate sin of falling in love with Jolie, something his military contract explicitly states cannot happen. Their story is one of deepening respect and abiding love. The pace of this plot is fast and exciting as the men go where they are needed in a dangerous world of terrorists and crazies. The book has many of the readers’ most-loved tropes—he falls first, heroic military men, a strong, sassy woman, a funny brotherhood, and a romantic HEA. All of the characters of the Sierra Team are tough, protective individuals, and I look forward to each one getting a personal story. Em Petrova’s Sierra series starter is an awesome beginning with Hard Pursuit; readers will enjoy every moment.
A compelling read with wonderful characters and a plot that held me riveted from start to finish This is a great start to the series and I have to say that I was left very much looking forward to future books in this series. Archer Carmichael is a released hostage that had been held by the Cipher, he is a man that is on point a lot of the time he was originally top of his class in training at Black Heart Security Facility. He has been requested to rescue a hostage Jolie Simms that became caught on a tower in a blizzard she had been on holiday from Chicago and thought that she would have an adventure. She had raised her three siblings who had been younger than her and had wanted to care for them all when both their mother and father and father had been killed. This was a compelling read that was well written and the characters were very well written and I thoroughly enjoyed every moment of this book and recommend it to other readers. I thoroughly enjoyed the book and look forward to reading any future publications; keep up all the wonderful writing.

SEAL Team Blackout Sierra is a new team ready to take on whatever missions they are dealt, serve their country and be the best at what they have trained for. Archer Carmichael has finally succeeded in all the above. He is the newest team member and it had been a crazy road to reach this destination. His first solo mission is a rescue that no one anticipated would change how their team moves forward. Jolie Simms is simply a unicorn. She has successfully raised her three younger siblings at sixteen because her parents died and has taken some vacation time for her own adventure. It had been a rollercoaster ten plus years but her siblings are grown and thriving. Time for her own adventure to explore and figure what is next for her. What she did not anticipate is needing to be rescued for trying to get a picture for her adventure reel. A great, fast paced story that contains absolutely everything as these two characters find themselves at a personal crossroads with neither one wanting to go their separate way. A great new series starter, enjoy!.

This romantic suspense delivers exactly what fans of protective military heroes and forced proximity romance want: high-stakes danger, emotional tension, and a hero carrying enough trauma to make every moment feel intense. Archer is the classic wounded operative—controlled, lethal, and emotionally locked down—but the story works because Jolie refuses to be overshadowed by him. She’s capable, stubborn, and brings warmth and sharp humor to the icy survival setting.
The chemistry between them is strong from the start, fueled by close quarters, constant danger, and Archer’s fierce need to protect her even while fighting his feelings. The snowbound atmosphere adds a cinematic edge to the action, and the suspense keeps the pacing moving fast without losing the emotional connection.
If you enjoy brooding SEAL heroes, forced proximity, survival tension, and protective romance with plenty of heat, this is an addictive start to the Blackout Sierra series.

Hard Pursuit was such a fun, adrenaline-filled read! From the very beginning, the story pulls you into a tense survival situation mixed with nonstop chemistry and emotional tension. Archer “Monk” Carmichael is the perfect hero — protective, guarded, and completely irresistible once his walls start slipping.
Jolie was one of my favorite parts of the book. She’s independent, stubborn and never comes across as helpless, even when everything around her is spiraling. The chemistry between her and Archer absolutely crackled, especially with the forced proximity and constant danger surrounding them. Their connection felt intense without overpowering the suspense plot.
There was always something happening, whether it was action, emotional conflict, or growing tension between the characters.
This book deliverers on suspense, steam, and heart. If you love protective military heroes, capable heroines, and romance packed with action, this one is definitely worth picking up!.

Great new series, new team members and new "potential" love interests. SEAL Team Blackout is a new team who specializes in extreme cold weather ops and rescues. Archer Carmichel is the newest member of this elite team and is the man who is sent to rescue a woman who climbed a tower to take a picture. For Jolie, this "vacation" is the result of an "adventure fund" effort by the siblings she raised to give her time for herself since she dedicated herself to keeping the family together after her parents were killed. After the mysterious man climbs the tower to rescue Jollie, she has a hood placed over her head and told to "hold on" by the muscular man who rescued her. What happens next is not something either Archer or Jollie had foreseen but it is what they both didn't know they needed. Great start to a new, exciting series.

Hard Pursuit is an emotional roller-coaster and a heartfelt journey of self-discovery. Archer and Jolie quickly endear themselves to you as they battle both their attraction and the challenge of finding where they truly belong.
Archer’s sweetness shines through beautifully, even while he struggles with his inner demons, making his character both emotional and easy to root for. Jolie brings strength, grit, and determination as she carves out her place and proves her worth. Together, they create a connection that feels genuine and rewarding to watch unfold.
The team adds so much life to the story through laughter, banter, camaraderie, and unwavering loyalty, building a strong foundation that makes the world feel complete. Unexpected danger keeps the tension high and delivers thrilling moments before the story gives us a glimpse into a happy future, Blackout Team style.
Archer has joined Blackout Team Sierra after a stay at Black Heart Tactical Training program and the therapy program after surviving 13 months of darkness at the hands of the Cipher. He is tasked with a rescue of a woman who has been stranded by a blizzard on a lookout tower. Jolie has spent all her time raising her three younger siblings after their parents were killed in a car crash. Archer and Jolie bond and develop a relationship while she is waiting to be taken back to civilization. There is a real twist in the story which results in a HEA ending. I loved the contrast between Archer and Jolie and the real attraction between the two. Em Petrova weaves a complex plot with wonderful secondary characters in the Sierra team. i am looking forward to Book 2 in this new series.

This is a great start to the new “SEAL Team Blackout Sierra" series by Em Petrova. Archer Carmichael is the newest member to the team. Archer had been held hostage by Cipher for over a year and has recently trained at the new Black Heart Security Facility. Being the newest to the team he was assigned to rescue a woman who was stranded in a blizzard on a tower.
Jolie was on an adventure trip given to her by her siblings. She was their caretaker from the age of sixteen after her parents died. She had to quit school and start work to raise them.
There seemed to be an instant attraction between Archer and Jolie but they both know that there can’t be anything between them. Will they be able to overcome the circumstances?.

This is the first book in the SEAL Team Blackout Sierra and another great book by this author. Action, suspense, a bit of drama, a team brothers, and two very opposite characters who will find each other amidst conflict and danger.
Archer is scarred by the demons that held him prisoner for a year, he is stoic, silent, careful, hence his code name "Monk". He finds Jolie when his team rescues her, and she brings a totally different energy to the compound. She is not afraid to be loud, maternal, and caring. The attraction between them two is scorching and explodes in passion, but his profession will not give him the space to be together, Until she is the target of an attempt, and he is not ready to let her go
A great and delicious romantic suspense that will keep you rooted to your seats.

What a great way to start a new series! Two sentences toward the end of the book summarizes Archer and Jolie's storyline. He tells her "Captivity taught me how to survive alone. You taught me surviving isn't the same as living". When he had been held hostage for 13 months, his torture was being left alone in the dark. Jolie, having raised her three orphaned siblings since she was sixteen, is now basically on her own as they have moved on with their lives. Her big adventure lands her in a dangerous situation, and Archer has to rescue her. Unfortunately, this leads her to be snowed in at Seal Team Blackout Sierra's hidden headquarters. She, along with the reader, get to know this new Blackout team. With so many great characters more amazing books will follow in this series.
Archer & Jolie's story is a fast paced, forced proximity romantic suspense. It grabs you from the very beginning & doesn't let go!!
I really liked the characters, the group of men in the team... this is Book 1 in the SEAL Team Blackout Sierra series. I look forward to the rest of the series!!!
There is a lot of slow burn tension & witty banter along with unexpected plot twists & I loved the ending. Jolie worked her way into the hearts of the group & they found a way to make it work. 🤩
Spice level: 🌶️🌶️🌶️
*romantic suspense *protector alpha hero MMC *FMC trapped & in distress gets rescued *ex military MMCs *SEAL romance *forced proximity *FMC raised her siblings from a young age
Thank you to the author (Em Petrova) & Booksprout for the ARC. All opinions are my own.
Its a great storyline with Jolie being rescued by Archer and how quickly she becomes an important part of his life. There are unusual obstacles happening but they appear to be movable. It’s an interesting story that captured by attention and held it. Never knowing what was going to happen next kept it very interesting. It’s well written with several characters from earlier stories in this series being present. Danger plays a part but they are handled and Cipher is still out there, plotting. It’s a great story and I loved every bit of it. Definitely worth reading along with the earlier stories in this series.
