Lucifer is dead and Hell is under new management.. Ash had lived his life under a deal with a demon, but when the demon asked for more than Ash could give, he killed the demon to save his sister and the woman he loved...and in doing so, Ash landed himself as the new leader of Hell. Ash accepted his fate and asked only one thing in return: He didn't want Elizabeth, the woman who held his heart, not to be a part of his new life. He just wanted her safe and happy, and he asked that they not know each other. Elizabeth was happy as a trauma surgeon until one day she was hit with a deep, dark depression. She feels as though she has lost the love of her life, but can't figure out why she would suddenly feel that way. All she knows is that she keeps seeing flashes of man that she can't really make out in her mind, and feelings of longing for him that make no sense. Ash is now entrenched in his new life and faced with the enormous task of learning to lead Hell. With the help of a Warrior Angel, he is busy recruiting his Elite Guard, yet he can feel that there is something or someone missing from his life and he is determined to find out who or what it is. The Warrior knows about Elizabeth and also knows that God always leads one in the right direction...even the leader of Hell. One touch is all it would take...but he needs to get them together at the right place and the right time. The question is, can he do it before they are found by those who seek their demise?
I live in KY with my family. While I hold a "real job" my first love will always be writing. I enjoy lots of different kinds of books, and many different authors. Some of my favorites are, but not limited to, Sandra Hill, Lori Foster, Kelly Armstrong, Stephen King, James Patterson, J.R. Ward and Emma Holly. But I think I would read just about anything with a good plot.
Love this series! The second installment of The Keepers of Hell series did not disappoint. Loved the continuation of Ash's story. Salvation picks up where Savior leaves off. I also love James's Forbidden Love series, so I was very pleased to see a crossover role for one of the characters. I won't say who so as not to give away spoilers, but he was a perfect fit as Ash's helper. In fact, their working relationship is one of my favorite plot points. And Ash definitely needs the help. It would seem not everyone supports the new leader of Hell. Go figure.
This was a quick, entertaining read, full of comedy, action, and sexiness. I recommend the series to anyone who reads in the paranormal romance genre.
Salvation is the second novella in the series called Keepers of Hell by Danielle James. Ash’ fortunes have turned. After spending years being under the control of a demon, Ash now has all the power. But these new powers, both the physical powers and the new political power, have a large learning curve. His naiveté provides his political opposition some unique opportunities to cause havoc. At the same time, Ash is overwhelmed with some rootless unhappiness and anger. As he tries to figure out his new life, Ash must also try to figure out what is causing his irrational mood.
Unfortunately, this novella missed the mark for me. However, there were many things that I thought were much improved from the first novel. This second novella had a more developed plot than the first novella. This might be because some initial groundwork was laid out in the first novella. This allowed James to give a stronger focus to the development of the paranormal aspects of the series. The plotline is a new take on some classic ideas, which is interesting. However, like the first novella, I think this one suffered a little from the short length as well. Most of the characters needed further development. However, I did like the inclusion of the former vampire assistant that Ash is sent by God. While goofy, he provided much needed comic relief. The cliffhanger in the first novella helped build the driving points for this stories plot. The reader should be warned, there are some violent scenes. And I personally did not feel that this aspect of the novella was handled well throughout the story. This novella too ends with a big revelation that sets the story for the next installment. This story was also infused with romance, but like before I felt like it was missing a critical mental compatibility between the two characters that was never developed.
The narration by Miles Taylor was alright. Once again, I thought that the voicing of the different characters could have been more dynamic, but overall it was fine. The production quality was good. I would recommend this novella to anyone who likes urban fantasy with a heavy influence of physical romance.

Wow!!! This book is amazing I cannot say enough good things about this book!!!! Ash is the new leader of hell and god has sent him a warrior angel to help him out. Only the angel is not what he expected Antonio. Ash is learning all about hell and the different levels and there is some demons that think he shouldn't be the leader so the devise a plan but first they have to figure out who Ash cares about. Ash leads them straight to his sister and the love of his life although he doesn't know it. When Ash figures everything out will he be able to save them or will the demons win. I am so in love with this story and these characters. I am so excited about the next book!!
Ash is back and he's learning his new role in Hell and trying his best to move on with his life. Fate has a different idea and is determined that he will get his girl but at what cost to Elizabeth. This book has it all love, tears and laughter which will draw you in and won't let you go. I can't wait to read the next one and see how Ashs journey continues. Oh a special mention on Danielles take of the 7 deadly sins, it's brilliant and worth reading just for that alone.
Most sincere apologies for the delay in this review for yet another FANTASTIC book by this amazing author. Again I was lucky to have been given an ARC to read. I read it in less than an hour, just could NOT put down. :) What can I say again, that hasn't already been said. :) Her stories draw you in, it's almost like being there with her characters, you feel the same emotions as they do, anger, fear, cry and laugh. Every emotion is covered with such great stories and this the second in the new series is no different. So love Antonio too, he's such a character but a great guy as well, still as cocky as ever and even has some of his own humour dished out to him by Ash. That part still cracks me up! ;) You will HAVE to read to know what I refer to. This is starting to be another fantastic series with characters we have met and new ones along the way. For myself, I will always be looking forward to more of Danielle's works and so glad I came across her books in late 2013. A fun lady who writes fantastic stories. So as I keep saying :) GO - grab yours to read and join us all who love these books and fall in love with all the characters. Now I just have to wait for the next installment in this great new series. More justice to be dealt out and new characters to join the new 'team'. :) So come on folks, if you loved the 'Forbidden' Love series, you will become hooked on these as well. Go grab your copies to read and join the rest of us who still crave more from this great story teller. :)
Narration - Miles Taylor - Pretty Good! I bet he had fun recording this because he has some fun character voices and I LOVED his interpretation of Ash when he went all "king of hell" on everyone!
The story is short at 3 hr and 41 minutes AND I have not listened to book 1...yet. I will, I'm pretty interested in this series now, but with that said, don't do what I did and make sure to catch this series in order. I was perfectly fine for the most part, but lost at the same time. So I need to go back and then head back through this series in order so I fully understand what's going on.
Is this worth a listener credit? I don't know. I usually prefer to get a little more time with my earbuds for a full credit. The cost is a little less than a credit, but not much - BUT with that said, I'm itching to use my credits to get the other two (Savior and Redemption) that are currently available on audible. I'm such a GLUTTON...or is it LUST?...maybe I'm just GREEDY! Huh...this series is right up my alley! *grins*

I thought book one, Savior, was awesome, but book two blew me away. I loved every scene in this book because Danielle James put thought, effort, and love into it and I know this because it bleeds out in her writing.
Salvation is much more suspenseful and has you craving for that one little touch that will bring the characters in full circle. Danielle James did a fantastic job creating a character, Antonio, that brings a much needed comedic relief to this intense story.
The depiction of Hell was really cool to see. I thought it was a unique perspective that made Hell feel real and something you can grasp your head around.
This book should come with a big warning about the climax. You will feel emotions. Emotions that are captured perfectly as Ash goes on his rampage. The climax had me wanting to reach through the book and deal out punishment.
I really liked the twist with Elizabeth at the end. I was not expecting that at all and think it was a great addition to the story and I'm curious to see how that plays out.
Again, the cliffhanger isn't bad and honestly you could end the series at the end of this book and be content. However, you're going to want to continue. The story is too intriguing and we still have a lot to learn and feel with these amazing characters.

"I'm OMG addicted to this series" What did you love best about Salvation? Everything. I love that Ash is now the King of hell and running it in the way God needs it to be. I love that he is always thinking of what is the right way to run things. Saying he is in love seems like a mild way to put it. He has a devotion to Elizabeth that is amazing. I like that the author has added a message that we all can have a second chance as redemption no matter what. Because God loves us that much.
What did you like best about this story? The message of second chances. Yes this is a paranormal romance but it has a running theme through out the entire series. Yes people make mistakes but there is always a chance of redemption of your soul.
What about Miles Taylor’s performance did you like? OMG I love this mans voice. He has that right kind of roughness. That hot sexy kind of roughness that you want to hear from your man. He makes the character Ash sound so smoking hot!
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be? Second chances for your soul.
Any additional comments? I never stopped being amazed by the author. She has an amazing story-line that she is running with. I'm crossing my fingers that she will continue with. Would I listen to this series again. That would be yes 3 times over.
Salvation is book 2 in the Keepers of Hell series by Danielle James and it's a keeper. Pardon the pun.
This is a really good series. The story line is fresh and exciting. To save his sister from the demon that killed the rest of his family, 5 year old Ash agrees to be the demons enforcer once he reaches adulthood. When Ash meets Elizabeth and falls in love with her, he's ordered to kill her but kills the demon that killed his family instead. Due to that, Ash becomes the new leader of Hell.
Ash is a great character. He's strong, sexy, protective, noble, and has moral and ethical beliefs. You can understand why God chose him to be the ruler of Hell. I loved Antonio, the angel assigned to help Ash find his Keepers of Hell guardsmen. Antonio is hilariously funny and goofy. I love the things he does that annoys Ash. There is great character development and interaction. The story is full of action, humor, love, intrigue, demons, vampires, angels and a large blue smurf.
I highly recommend this this series.

I love Danielle's characters! Their banter, humor, passion and strength always impresses me. And as quiet as Ash was in Savior he has certainly found his voice in Salvation. Thanks to a little help from a familiar face *wink*
Although my beta rating was low for this book originally I am VERY pleased with the outcome and the details added to this book. The mission is clear to Ash and to his sidekick as they venture to find the few that will serve him as the Keepers of Hell gaurdsmen. But not all are convinced he is worthy to rule. Just as he thought his sister was safe from the demon he gave his life to to protect her, new threats are coming. And with an agenda of their own.
I love the story telling and the descriptions of the levels of hell. This book brings a vivid picture to mind that will make you cringe, be in awe and on the edge of your seat with suspense.
Another amazing book by Danielle James. I was a little nervous when I got to the end of Savior. I had no idea what those little voices in her head where telling her to do. Im also not one to read a lot of books with cliff hangers but she said salvation would be right out behind Savior and true to her word we didn't have to wait long at all. I loved this book. I was so excited when she incorporated someone from the past into salvation. Ash does get his happy ever after along with all the fans of this new exciting series. I expect we will be seeing a lot of Ash and Elizabeth I love the fact that they are running hell together. The next book is going to be every bit as exciting as the first two have been. Patiently waiting...Im sure the voices in her head are talking up a storm and hopefully book 3 will be gracing us soon.
It just keeps getting better. This time not only do we have Ash, but we have the jokester, vamp hotty, angel, Antonio. I love this guy. As he attempts to get Ash settled into Hell as the new leader, he rips joke after joke. When I imagine this giant goofball, I can't help but smile. He's an amazing character. God has tasked him with reuniting Ash & Elizabeth, but it can only be done one way. Every single time you think it's going to happen...it doesn't, and you get just as frustrated as Antonio. By the time it finally happens, you're heartbroken and enraged and cursing to the heavens. This continuation plays out beautifully and the story only gains more twists and turns to enjoy. I'm loving this little series and can't get enough. On to the next story! Ash is finally building his Guards! Bring on Jake!
** I was given a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review **
This book picks up where the first one leaves off, Ash is now an Angel and the leader of hell...I know sounds weird right? He is not a bad guy...he is a good one, and is given this job because God thinks he will be fair and run things right! He had asked God to make him forget Elizabeth, and vice versa....He is kind of miserable without her...and she slips into a depression...they are just meant to be....God had a plan though, and throws in a kind of loophole to bring them back together....Really Great Story and performance, cant wait for #3!
i am really enjoying this series so far! plenty of action, smoking hot paranormals, and *wait, what!?!??* a giant smurf? There are plenty of hilarious moments, along with some pulse-pounding action, and even some steamy love. I am looking forward to finding out where everyone goes from here!
