i haven’t read dark romance in a while and this was such a lovely read. i was rooting for Enzo and Evie so much!! Enzo is devastated about Evie losing her memory, and his emotions feel like a storm he can’t control. but as she slowly starts to remember their relationship, things begin to calm between them.
it’s Enzo refusing to let go, and Evie trying to find her way back to something her heart already remembers.
Evie is such a badass. she’s a hacker and still so fierce and fiery, even as she struggles to piece her memories back together. i loved how much fight she still had in her.

the yearning, the longing😩 Enzo would do just about anything for Evie. i’m obsessed. this book is full of morally grey characters and i ate it up.
the amnesia trope really gave them a second chance at each other, and i loved how fast-paced it was, it made it so easy to fly through.
i need more books like this!! i’m open to recommendations 🩶

i haven’t read dark romance in a while and this was such a lovely read. i was rooting for Enzo and Evie so much!! This book feels like the summary of a seven-book mafia series, and honestly? I’m not even mad about it. I was spared so much stress with how fast-paced everything was. I later found out that all the couples in this book already had books in the original series and this is actually a spin-off, which suddenly made so much sense. Well… fair enough lol.
But I actually really liked this book. It had the romance, the life-threatening situations, the chaos, and all the found family moments I love.
Also, I desperately need Damon’s book. I can already smell the five-star rating coming. And I know, I just KNOW, it’s going to be forbidden love. It has to be. I need to calm down because this book isn’t even out yet. Ugh.
But I actually really liked this book. It had the romance, the life-threatening situations, the chaos, and all the found family moments I love.

This book was angsty from the start to the very end and my god was this a sob fest. Amnesia romance isn’t everyone’s favourite trope but I love the angst and tension that comes along with it, especially as the person with intact memory starts going stir crazy and sad about their lover not remembering them. This book is connected to the authors Dark Angel series but you don’t need to read it before this book. Evie has lost her memory and is being forced to marry someone else while Enzo becomes a madman looking for her and will stop at nothing to find her and make her his again. Enzo is your typical dark broody morally grey mmc, but the “burn the world for you” vibe is extra strong. There’s also a thriller and romantic suspense part with a secret Syndicate that’s out to get Evie. It was pretty intense so check your trigger warnings, but the plot twists were horrifyingly good and had me completely stunned. It is a HEA and was so well deserved with everything they went through to get there. Despite the amnesia the chemistry between Evie and Enzo could not be ignored, he’s obsessed and she cannot stay away from this dangerous looking “stranger”. I loved them together, and Enzo was pretty funny and sarcastic too. Damon also seems like a pretty interesting character as well and I can’t wait to read his story. I give this a 4.5/5

I love my dark romances and “Dark Memories” was such a beautiful read. The entire time I was engrossed in this book I couldn’t help but root for Enzo and Evelyn. You can’t help but feel just how destroyed Enzo is over Evelyn’s memory loss, and I could feel his emotions swirling around him like a hurricane about to let loose. But, as Evelyn slowly begins to regain her memories surrounding their relationship, slowly things between Enzo and Evelyn start to calm.
You can feel that it’s in Enzo’s refusal to let go of his love for Evelyn and their relationship, and Evelyn’s determination to remember who she was and find her way back to what her heart knows and remembers helps to guide her memories back to the surface in such a delicious, torturous way and yet at the same way, it’s also beautiful to watch Evelyn’s memories slowly return to her.
Evelyn herself is a badass in her own right. She’s a fierce and fiery hacker who is trying to put her life back together, struggling to put her memories back in place and yet I loved how she didn’t let set backs hold her back. She had such determination and fight in her and it was just so stunning and beautiful to watch.
The yearning and the longing is so tangible and you can tell that Enzo would go to any ends of the earth for Evelyn. I am obsessed with these characters. I loved these characters. They were so well written, developed, and fleshed out. They continued to grow and develop in this book and their arcs were amazing.
I found that the amnesia trope gave both Enzo and Evelyn an honest second chance at their relationship and each other. K. Boozer did an amazing job at maintaining a fast-pace in this book and that just made it so easy to just fly through this book in absolutely no time.
I also really enjoyed the found family trope that was included in this story. Evelyn truly found her real family and we are once again reminded that family isn’t always the family we are born into. Sometimes, family is the family we choose to be a part of. And after reading this book, I truly can’t wait to read the rest of this series, especially after getting the chance to glimpse the other couples and their stories.
If you enjoy dark mafia romance, fast-paced storylines, badass FMCs, protective MMCs, heartbreak, found family, then this is the book you’ve been searching for. And I highly recommend Dark Memories by K. Boozer.

I liked this story. But nothing really stood out here. I didn’t really feel any character building expect from Evie. But the storyline and the build up was really nice done.
I felt like my 15 years old self reading a mafia Wattpad story at night.

It’s been a while since I last read a dark romance with the amnesia trope, so I was all the more excited to dive into this book. Dark Memories was my very first book by K. Boozer, meaning I went in completely blind regarding the writing style, storytelling, etc. I was definitely not disappointed, and this will safely not be my last book by this author or from this world!
But let's start from the beginning: this book checked all my trope boxes. Mafia romance, second chance, amnesia trope?! Everything I love, and I have to say, it was all executed perfectly.
Enzo?! Enzo is officially one of my new favorites. The way he fought for Evie, and the sheer amount of yearning and longing... absolutely beautiful. Every time I read his POV, I fell a little harder for him because he was just so head over heels for Evie and would do anything—and I mean anything—for her. I also found it incredibly sweet how nervous he got during their "new" first date. But we also saw that he has a completely different side to him, because the spice was spicing. Just pure heat!
Now on to Evie. Like, girl, can we be best friends?! She is such a badass FMC, the likes of whom I haven't read in a long time. Seeing how she kept fighting after her accident and the massive betrayal by her parents was incredibly inspiring. Plus, she’s a hacker?! I loved reading about a smart, strong FMC for once, instead of the tropes you sometimes get in other dark romance books. At the same time, it was really beautiful to see her vulnerable side and how she struggled with not knowing who to trust. The only "negative" point—which isn’t even truly negative and totally depends on the reader—was the pacing for me. To be completely honest, a few points moved a bit too fast at times.

It’s been a while since I last read a dark romance with the amnesia trope, so I was all the more excited to dive into this book. Dark Memories was my very first book by K. Boozer, meaning I went in completely blind regarding the writing style, storytelling, etc. I was definitely not disappointed, and this will safely not be my last book by this author or from this world!
But let's start from the beginning: this book checked all my trope boxes. Mafia romance, second chance, amnesia trope?! Everything I love, and I have to say, it was all executed perfectly.
Enzo?! Enzo is officially one of my new favorites. The way he fought for Evie, and the sheer amount of yearning and longing... absolutely beautiful. Every time I read his POV, I fell a little harder for him because he was just so head over heels for Evie and would do anything—and I mean anything—for her. I also found it incredibly sweet how nervous he got during their "new" first date. But we also saw that he has a completely different side to him, because the spice was spicing. Just pure heat!
Now on to Evie. Like, girl, can we be best friends?! She is such a badass FMC, the likes of whom I haven't read in a long time. Seeing how she kept fighting after her accident and the massive betrayal by her parents was incredibly inspiring. Plus, she’s a hacker?! I loved reading about a smart, strong FMC for once, instead of the tropes you sometimes get in other dark romance books. At the same time, it was really beautiful to see her vulnerable side and how she struggled with not knowing who to trust. It made it even more rewarding to watch her and Enzo both fight so hard to find their way back to each other.

I can't say I'm a fan of the amnesia trope, but sometimes it's done beautifully, and K. Boozer nailed it. I genuinely did not mind the whole amnesia, because it felt, and it was a second chance romance. And I love the yearning that comes with it. This romantic suspense was fast paced and it kept me hooked from the very beginning because there was tension, then high stakes situations, danger and the heart wrenching emotional rollercoaster that I'm still not over. I'm nursing my heart with a bottle of rose, okay? It was that good, even though I'm not the biggest fan of mafia romance. I keep saying that it's an overly done trope, and that some books are so cliche that are downright ridiculous, but some authors do know how to bring originality to a "cliche" trope so to speak.
Evie was one badass, strong FMC. Amnesia aside, she was a damn good hacker, intelligent and capable, which showed that she's more than a main character that goes through hell because of her amnesia. She's layered and complex, and I might just say that I fell in love with her. 😩
Enzo was everything, okay? At this moment I have a book hangover and my heart beats for this man. He handled everything so well while Evie was recovering. He never used the amnesia against her, like her parents did, and he never manipulated her either. He let her fall in love with him over again, and that was beautiful and heartbreaking at the same time. He was patient, protective and more than anything, supportive. He literally helped her put the pieces of her memories back together. I just love him.🥹 Evie and Enzo are my new favorite dark romance couple.
In the end, I sure as hell recommend this book to anyone who likes a fast paced dark romance and wants their heart broken in pieces the entire time.

This was such a fast-paced romantic suspense read and honestly kept me hooked the entire time because there was constantly tension, danger, and emotional moments happening.
Evie wakes up in the hospital after a car accident with amnesia and no memory of the people around her — including Enzo and her best friend Rose. What immediately stood out to me was how even though Evie couldn’t remember her past, she instinctively knew something felt wrong about the life her parents were trying to force her back into.
Her parents tell her she’s engaged to a man she doesn’t trust or feel safe with, and I honestly loved that her instincts never fully disappeared even without her memories.
Then there’s Enzo.
The moment Evie sees him, she feels drawn to him immediately because he feels safe and familiar to her. Even without her memories, she recognizes him as the man from her dreams and someone important to her life.
I really loved how Enzo handled everything while Evie was recovering. He never tried to manipulate her or use her amnesia against her the way her parents did. Instead, he stayed patient, protective, and supportive while helping her piece together the truth about her past.
Evie was also such a strong FMC. I loved that she was intelligent, capable, and a hacker because it added another layer to her character beyond the romance storyline.
The amnesia storyline almost gave this book a second-chance romance feel because Evie and Enzo essentially had to rebuild their connection while she slowly regained her memories. And once the truth about the accident starts unraveling and they realize it wasn’t an accident at all? The suspense really picked up from there.
This definitely felt like a quick read because there was always something happening and the suspense kept the pacing moving the entire time.

Dark Memories is a dark mafia romance short story by K. Boozer and my first entry into the Dark Whispers universe — and honestly, it did exactly what a good series entry should do: left me wanting to go back and read everything I missed.
The Plot
Evie is at the center of something dangerous, and the story wastes no time letting you feel that. The scenes leading up to her losing her memory are genuinely gripping — I kept second-guessing every character, every motive. Who wants her dead? Who just wants her gone? Why? The way K. Boozer slowly peels back those answers kept me turning pages. The fog of Evie's amnesia plays out in a way that actually makes sense within the story's logic — her brain being actively kept hazy explains why things clear up as quickly as they do, even if the pacing of the amnesia arc felt slightly rushed on the surface.
What Stood Out
The way Evie's memories are returned to her in brief flashes was one of my favorite elements. Rather than a big dramatic "I remember everything" moment, it's intimate and incremental — each memory tied to a person proving themselves to her in real time. It made the trust-building feel earned rather than convenient.
Where It Could Have Gone Deeper
My biggest "what if" with this story is the crash. There's an angle where Evie loses her memory the old-fashioned way — trauma, not manipulation — and I found myself wondering how that version of the story would have unfolded. What if she'd been stuck with her family longer? How would Enzo's rescue have looked then? It felt like an unexplored thread that could have added another layer, and I hope future entries in this universe give us something in that space.

If you're already invested in this mafia universe, this is a solid and satisfying read. If you're coming in fresh like I was, it works as a standalone enough to pull you in — but it will absolutely make you want to go back to the beginning. For a short story, it packs in a lot of heart, tension, and intrigue. Definitely worth the read, and I'm already eyeing the rest of the series.

Firstly thank you so much for lovenotesPR and the author for this ARC copy, this was an enjoyable read for beginning to end. I absolutely love the different tropes from amnesia, mafia, touch her and 💀, and a morally grey MMC.
We start off with Evelyn “Evie” being on the run, trying to send off something to her boyfriend and trying to protect him and her loved ones from something she discovered. When she tries to get away, she was involved in a car crash that leaves her in the hospital, changing everything for her. When she wakes up, her memories are gone, and she’s with her parents who she thought cared for her. They tell her so many different stories, and she’s confused on what’s real. But when Enzo comes to take her home, he started revealing the truth. She doesn’t know what’s real, who to believe which in turn makes her angry at everyone and everything.
As she slowly begins to remember and things come back to her, she remembers the truth and leaves her with betrayal and dark secrets from both her parents.
Both of the characters had such a strong connection and chemistry, but during the memory loss, it just seemed like FMC was against everything and everyone who was actually trying to help her. Enzo and all the family was trying to tell her the truth and she had a giant wall fighting them at every turn. She refused to get close to Enzo, and if it wasn’t for her other incident that helped her memories come back, I don’t believe she would have ever tried to give him a chance and hear him out. Everything did turn out good in the end, but felt as if some unimportant parts were dragged out while the more eventful moments were rushed.
I still did enjoy this story, I just wish there would have been a bit more development in the plot, and left out some unimportant parts that didn’t really add to the story. I wish there was more on Enzo trying to win her back, but overall this was pretty good.

I really liked this book, maybe not as much as the others, but still so good. Enzo is the perfect protective and obsessed book boyfriend. And Evie is strong and capable, even with amnesia. I love the way their story gets told, a mix of flashbacks and current moments🥰
“I don’t tell her about how I pay a local florist extra every month to carry this rare combination year-round because I know they’re her favorites. Just like how I don’t tell her that I bring home a fresh batch every month.”
It’s impossible to not feel extreme empathy with them. I don’t remember reading a book with characters who’s got such a strong love and connection from the start and then having to find each other again. It was, at times, a frustrating journey, but the satisfaction at the end was worth it👏🏼
And loved that my home country got an honorable mention “Denmark is a wild and beautiful place, untamed and free”, always makes me happy, especially since we’re such a small country🇩🇰

Firstly, thank you to Love Notes PR and the author for providing me with an ARC copy. This was an enjoyable read overall, and the premise immediately grabbed my attention. With tropes like amnesia, mafia romance, a morally grey MMC, and plenty of "touch her and die" energy, it had all the ingredients for a story I could have absolutely loved.
One of the strongest aspects of the book was the chemistry between Evie and Enzo. Even when Evie couldn't remember him, their connection was strong and evident, and the emotional stakes were high. Enzo was easily one of my favorite parts of the story, and I found myself wishing we had gotten even more scenes focused on him trying to win Evie back and rebuild their relationship.
That said, I struggled with some of the execution. The synopsis promised so much potential, and while the first few chapters had me turning pages like no tomorrow, the story became repetitive at times. Evie's constant resistance to all the people truly trying to help her became frustrating, and borderline redundant. Some scenes felt drawn out when they should have been little blips while major plot developments seemed rushed and skipped over. Important moments often passed quickly, overshadowed by memories and conversations that didn't always feel necessary for information or to move the story forward.
Overall, I enjoyed the idea that the story was trying to get across. The characters had great chemistry, and the emotional betrayals hit hard. However, I couldn't help feeling that there was so much untapped potential in both the plot and character development. With a little more depth in key moments and less focus on repetitive scenes, this could have been an even stronger read. If you're a fan of mafia romance, amnesia tropes, and morally grey heroes, this is definitely worth checking out.

This was such a fast paced Mafia romance, but i appreciated that a lot. The plot was steady, the characters were enjoyable. At times I was feeling all for Enzo and then Evie, poor evie. Her parents sucked horribly. She didnt deserve half of what they did to her but we also will never get what happened. I truly enjoyed reading this one and cant wait for more from this author! I definitely want to catch up with the rest of their books and cant wait to do so. If you enjoy fast paced mafias and everything that comes with the messy side of that, this is your book!

This was such a fast paced Mafia romance, but i appreciated that a lot. The plot was steady, the characters were enjoyable. At times I was feeling all for Enzo and then Evie, poor evie. First Impressions: Evie wakes up from a tragic car accident with only vague recollections of her recent memories only to find herself tiene between the man who says he's her fiance and the man who loves her.
Pacing: The story takes place over a few weeks or months. The action propels the story forward very quickly.
Character development: Evie (FMC) is a headstrong woman with a knack for computers who seems shackled to her gilded cage. Enzo (MMC) is a powerful mafia fixer, hellbent on getting his girl back. Over the course of the book Evie is able to regain her memories with the help of Rose (her childhood best friend), Enzo, and a mysterious hard-drive. The characters don't necessarily grow over the course of the book, but they do find their way back to each other.
World Building: I was hoping there would be more substance for the world building, and a stronger juxtaposition between Miami and London.
Romance: The romance is already there, but has to be unearthed. Enzo is surprising restrained in his attempts to woo Evie (again).
Spice: There are a few spicy scenes later in the book. They ate more loving that graphic.
Errors and Consistency: None errors, but some of the descriptive imagery became a little repetitive.
Overall experience: This was a book. It was chaotic, and for the relatively short length, had way too many named characters and factions. If they were intended to be red herrings, none of them were developed enough in that regard. I just didn't find myself engaged with the action or the characters - the substance was simply spread too thin to enjoy.

Dark Memories is a standalone in the interconnected Dark Angel series. While it can be read as a standalone, there is a lot of mention of things that seems to have happened previously. It doesn't affect the impact this story has in any way, but it did make me want to go ahead and read them all now.
This story was addicting in a good way. Enzo was everything. I could not get enough of this man. He is literally at the top of my book current book boyfriend list.
Evie uncovers something that she probably shouldn't have and now her life is in danger. She ends up in a car accident with amnesia and doesn't remember what happened or why she was running to begin with. But her life.... still feels off. Her parents are in the hospital room reintroducing her to her fiancé, Nicholas. But it all feels off. Because when she closes her eyes, she can still see and almost feel Enzo. She just can't remember who he is.
Enzo is torn at what is happening, but he is determined to get his Evie back. Only, how can she trust him when she doesn't remember him.

If you are looking for an epic, at the edge of your seat page-turner, then this dark romance is for you!
The dedication, especially the Viking part, made me laugh so hard. And the 'turn the page' and 'good girl' sentences... I was laughing even harder! Oh, I loved this so much. And, it was a great start to this thrilling story.
The MMC reminded me so much of Ragnar from the Vikings series. But, like the modern version of him! And I always had a huge crush on that godly man! So yes, Enzo is definitely on my bookish boyfriends list, ahum. This man would burn the entire world for his one true love. He might be dangerous, but such a green flag regarding family and his love!
The FMC, Evie, is such a brazen, clever young woman who still believes in love and hope after going through such hard times. She's my favorite! I am just so proud of her and everything she has accomplished.
This story is action-packed, gripping, angsty and fast-paced. You simply can't get enough of this book. Oh gosh, I wish this book was longer!

This story had a premise I should have loved: mafia romance, amnesia, family secrets, and a possessive MMC who would happily set the world on fire for his girl.
My biggest issue was that the mystery felt solved almost immediately. If you're going to give me an amnesia trope after Evie gets run off the road for uncovering something dangerous, I want confusion, paranoia, and a heroine who genuinely has no idea who to trust. Instead, it felt pretty obvious from the start that something was off with her parents and her so called fiancé, which took away a lot of the suspense.
That being said, Enzo absolutely carried this book for me. The man walked in with pure "you may not remember me, but you're still mine" energy and I ate up every second of it. His devotion, possessiveness, and willingness to burn the entire world down for Evie was exactly what I wanted from a mafia MMC.
The action scenes were entertaining and kept the story moving, though there were a few sections that felt longer than they needed to be and dragged a bit.
What surprised me most is that I'm now incredibly curious about Damon's story. The little hints about his history with the sniper have me convinced there's some top-tier drama waiting there, and honestly, I might be reading the next book just for that.

Evie wakes up in a hospital after an accident with no memory of her past. Surrounded by her parents and her supposed fiancé, she has no reason to question the version of events she’s being told until Enzo arrives, determined to find the woman he loves and reveal the truth.
One of my favorite aspects of this story was the mystery surrounding Evie’s lost memories. As the pieces slowly fall into place, she realizes that the people she trusted the most have been manipulating her, suppressing her memories with medication and hiding the truth about her past.
Enzo was definitely the highlight of the book for me. While everyone paints him as the villain, he’s actually the one fighting the hardest to protect Evie and bring her back to the life she lost.
The story is filled with kidnappings, dangerous secrets, hidden conspiracies, and nonstop drama, making it a quick and entertaining read that never slows down.
The only part that left me frustrated was Evie’s parents. Their willingness to sacrifice their own daughter to protect dangerous people was shocking and difficult to understand.
Overall, I really enjoyed this book. It delivered suspense, romance, action, and an emotionally devoted hero who never stopped fighting for the woman he loved.

I was a little apprehensive about this book for two reasons one being that it is a standalone in a connected series and I had not read the others, the other was the amnesia plot. Normally these things might put me off but for some reason I was drawn to this book.
However I didn’t need to worry, I devoured it, I could have read the whole thing in one session if I had had a bit more time. If you have not read the other books I wouldn’t worry about that, the author gives enough info to fill the blanks whilst still making me want to read the other books to see how things played out exactly. The amnesia plot was also well done I think. At least enough to make me angry at some of the characters anyway. Evie was great, I warmed to her straight away, and she immediately had me hooked and worried for her, but also cheering her on. Enzo was perfect, the way he dealt with everything was understandable. They had great chemistry, I loved them together and the spice was spicy, just the right amount.
The book really had me on edge and worried for all the characters. The plot was good, enough to make me want to read the other books and then anymore that come out in this world, I like secrets and I need to know them all. When an author builds a world I like to dive into it when I can. I also really liked Rose, all the side characters were great and added something but Rose was really interesting and she seemed like a badass.

I was completely hooked by Dark Memories from the very beginning! The mix of suspense, secrets, and romance made this one incredible. I constantly was asking myself what was happening while I was reading it (in a great way)! Every time I thought I had things figured out, another twist would leave me questioning my sanity.
Evie’s kept me invested from start to finish. Watching her piece together her memories while uncovering the truth about her past had me flying through pages! I loved the mystery surrounding her and this constant feeling that there was so much more going on beneath the surface.
Enzo was another highlight for me. His determination to get Evie even when she couldn’t remember him, added so much emotion to the story. Their connection felt intense and perfect. I found myself rooting for them all day everyday.

Her family are evil and feed her lies - making her think Enzo is the baddie in this situation. My heart broke for him.
I haven’t read the previous series - I didn’t realise I needed to but the author was really helpful with her writing and there was lots of flashbacks/memories which helped catch me up!
Enzo and co kidnap/rescue Evie, and there starts her regaining her memories, building new ones and rediscovering what the package is that she originally sent in the beginning of the book. CRAZY stuff. The ending is wild and I loved every second of it!
I wish there was more of a buildup with Evie and Enzo’s renewing their relationship after her memories come back, feel like it was a bit rushed. Enzo was giving me a little whiplash with what he wanted as well with Evie. I’m sure it would’ve been easier to understand more things if I had read the previous series - but I definitely will go back and read them now! I really enjoyed this book 🫶🏼🖤

The writing style instantly pulled me in with cinematic conversational prose that felt immersive and effortless to read. The narration flowed naturally, modern without feeling overly online or cringey, and the exposition was woven in smoothly instead of feeling like a lore dump.
The plot moves fast but never feels rushed. While the lost-memory/relearning-love premise is familiar, the execution made it feel emotionally engaging and fresh instead of cliché. I also appreciated that this worked well as a standalone spinoff.
The characters were easily my favorite part. The FMC stayed surprisingly level-headed despite the confusion surrounding her memory loss, which made her feel believable rather than frustrating. ‘Dark Memories’ follows the story of Evie dealing with amnesia as a result of being involved in a car accident. After waking up in the hospital, her parents inform Evie about her engagement that she can’t seem to recall. Sensing that her parents might not be honest about her betrothal, she’s hell-bent on finding out the truth. Especially since she can’t stop thinking about a faceless silhouette that seems to appear whenever she closes her eyes. 👀
First off, Evie is such a baddie. Her not being a damsel in distress really saved this story from becoming the typically annoying amnesia trope. Her fierceness and determination to regain her lost memories were a breath of fresh air.
Speaking of breaths- I might’ve released a breath of relief when Enzo begrudgingly had to cut off his BRAIDED beard. I am so sorry, but I am an avid beard hater. But other than that, Enzo is a really nice character. His love for Evie bleeding through every page in his pov was everything. 😩
In general, this book is FILLED with love. Enzo’s amazing friend group all being equally intent on getting her back made my eyes water a bit…

First off, Evie is such a baddie. Her not being a damsel in distress really saved this story from becoming the typically annoying amnesia trope. Her fierceness and determination to regain her lost memories were a breath of fresh air.
Speaking of breaths- I might’ve released a breath of relief when Enzo begrudgingly had to cut off his BRAIDED beard. I am so sorry, but I am an avid beard hater. But other than that, Enzo is a really nice character. His love for Evie bleeding through every page in his pov was everything. 😩
In general, this book is FILLED with love. Enzo’s amazing friend group all being equally intent on getting her back made my eyes water a bit…

I went into this book not knowing it was connected to a previous series, and honestly, that explained a lot. It felt like I was stepping into an already established world with characters who had so much history, but it never stopped me from enjoying the story.
This book was packed with angst from beginning to end. The amnesia trope isn't always my favourite, but I really enjoyed how it was handled here. Watching Enzo search endlessly for Evie while she had no memory of him was heartbreaking.
I also loved the mix of mafia romance, suspense, and danger. The mystery surrounding the Syndicate kept me invested, and there were a few twists that genuinely caught me off guard. The chemistry between Evie and Enzo was strong throughout, even with the memory loss storyline, and I found myself rooting for them the whole time.
The pacing was quite fast, which worked well for keeping me engaged, although at times I would have liked a little more room for certain moments to breathe. Still, I flew through the book and was never bored.
And then there's Damon. I don't know much about what's coming next, but I'm already intrigued and looking forward to seeing where his story goes.

Dark Memories by K. Boozer was an emotional, chaotic mafia romance that completely sucked me in. The amnesia trope brought so much angst and tension, and watching Enzo absolutely spiral trying to get Evie back had me hooked from start to finish. He’s the definition of “burn the world for her,” while Evie’s journey through lost memories, betrayal, and danger kept the suspense high the entire time.
The pacing is super fast — honestly, it felt like the highlight reel of a long mafia series — but somehow that made it even more addictive. Between the found family moments, shocking twists, romance, and constant life-threatening chaos, I flew through this book. Enzo’s sarcasm added some much-needed humor between all the emotional damage too.
Even without reading the original Dark Angel series, I still enjoyed this story a lot, though I can definitely see how longtime readers would get even more out of it. And now I desperately need Damon’s book because that man is radiating future favorite energy already.

The dynamic between Enzo and Evie??? The dual P.O.V!!! Absolutely insane. Power couple energy from start to finish. The tension, the devotion, the “I will burn the world to get you back” vibes... I absolutely ate that UP.
And Enzo… that man was down astronomically.
But can we TALK about Damon because somehow he ended up being one of my favourite characters 😭 every time he appeared I already knew that guns would be blazing soon 🤭 no further spoilers!
The whole memory loss/hidden truths aspect kept me hooked the entire time and I genuinely flew through this book in a pretty short time! If you love morally grey men, obsessive devotion, forbidden romance, mafia drama, and relationships that make you stare at the wall afterwards… definitely add this to your TBR.
I do think the storyline leaned a little conventional at times and could’ve had even higher stakes/more to lose emotionally, but I still thoroughly enjoyed it and I’m really excited to see what author K. Boozer cooks up in her future books!

As noted, this is within a series, but this could be read as a standalone as I did. I'm sure though reading the book previous to this may help understand Evie and Enzo's relationship background.
