When I get an opportunity to read the latest Steve Cavanagh book-It goes straight to the top of my ARC pile-regardless of publication date! So here we are!
“The worst times of your life seem to last an age”
And, the book opens with Eddie Flynn having one of those moments-as he wakes up in the trunk of a moving car, wondering if when his abductors pull him out, he will be taking his last walk….
But, of course, we will have to circle back to that.
How did he end up in this predicament? It started FIVE MONTHS earlier with a MURDER….
Patrick Vanderpool, son of a billionaire media mogul, is running for Political Office but the affair he's having could derail everything.
Vanessa Vanderpool, is his wife, and she is not about to turn a blind eye to this affair. She has warned the young lady in question-Molly Green-to stay away from Patrick but she doesn’t appear to be listening.
She arrives at Molly’s apartment and waits until she sees her husband leave.
When the “OTHER WOMAN” is found brutally murdered, there are only two suspects.
Patrick and Vanessa
Was Molly dead when Vanessa arrived or was Vanessa the one who killed her?
ONE OF THEM IS GUILTY
The story unfolds through various viewpoints but mostly through those of Patrick, Vanessa and our FAVORITE Conman turned defense lawyer the VERY VERY CLEVER Eddie Flynn. Because both suspects are sharing their version of the truth, there is some repetition in the chapters, as parts of their story are identical-but parts are drastically different.
We find out how events led to this outcome beginning SIX weeks prior to the MURDER and then learn more about halfway through the book when the TRIAL begins-circling back to the trunk of the car BEFORE there is a verdict.
Since Eddie’s partner Kate left the law firm in the last book, it’s Eddie and Harry at the Defense table, and nothing could make me happier as Eddie will take RISKS at Trial which the straight laced Kate wouldn’t, making for a much more ENTERTAINING experience in the Courtroom.
Bloch (FEARLESS!) and Gabriel Lake are still investigating and Denise is still running the office so we get to catch up with them and others from earlier books. Although this can be read as a standalone, the relationships between the characters grow and evolve throughout the series, so it is beneficial to read them in order to appreciate that.
I was correct with many of my guesses, but there was a twist in the end that I didn’t suspect making this another COMPELLING read and nearly impossible to put down!
Will we get an Eddie Flynn book 11? I have no idea but I would be all for it, and that SPEAKS VOLUMES because as a general rule-I don’t like many series-but I can’t seem to get enough of this one!
Warning ⚠️ The Murders in this installment are pretty graphic!
A buddy read with my lovely friend Ceecee from the UK! I was delighted that we could read this one together and share our thoughts along the way! Be sure to watch for her review!
NOW AVAILABLE in the UK
Expected publication date in the U.S: March 23, 2027 by Atria (So thrilled that Atria has brought his work to the U.S. market!)

One of us is Guilty!
Patrick and Vanessa Vanderpool are a very high profile couple. However, Patrick has been having an affair with Molly, and now Molly has been found brutally murdered. Who did it? Well, it was either Patrick or Vanessa!
Lawyer, Eddie Flynn, will be representing Vanessa.
I have no idea how the author managed to conceive this convoluted plot. There were so many lies, so many twists and turns, but together with skilful use of smoke and mirrors, and a couple of neat twists at the end, it was a terrific read. I’m truly in awe of Cavanagh’s writing ability.
Eddie certainly has his work cut out this time around, but, as ever, the courtroom scenes are great. Another winner in the Eddie Flynn series!
*Thank you to Netgalley and Headline, for my ARC in exchange for an honest unbiased review *

In the end, everything will be okay, and if it's not okay, then it's not the end.
Did I start and finish this in one day? Let's just say I finished all my household chores while listening to this book😅😅
I just love Eddie and his brain. Some parts of this were predictable for me seeing as this is my 10th Eddie Flynn book😅 That didn't dull my enjoyment though because I just love a good and tense courtroom drama!
As always, may this series outlive me.. keep them coming Steve thank you😌

I'm officially addicted to Eddie Flynn.
At this point, every time Steve Cavanagh announces a new book, I mentally lock my front door, silence my phone, cancel my plans, and disappear from society until I've devoured every single page. Please don't look for me. I'll emerge several hours later looking slightly unhinged, begging for the next installment like a wounded animal because these books are simply never long enough for my greedy reading appetite.
This series should come with a warning label:
Highly addictive. Sleep deprivation guaranteed.
This latest installment grabs you by the throat from page one. What initially looks like a juicy domestic thriller—a betrayed wife discovering her powerful husband is having an affair—quickly mutates into something much darker, bloodier, and infinitely more complicated.
Vanessa Vanderpool discovers that her husband Patrick, the privileged son of a media empire and reluctant political golden boy, has been cheating on her with his assistant, Molly. Jealousy gives Vanessa an obvious motive.
Meanwhile, Patrick walks into Molly's apartment believing he's escaping his miserable life, only to discover something in her diary that completely destroys everything he thought he knew about the woman he loved. Suddenly, betrayal fuels his own motive.
Two people.
Two excellent motives.
One horrifying murder.
Then comes the crime scene that made my jaw hit the floor.
Molly is found brutally murdered. Her head is missing. The killer leaves behind virtually no forensic evidence. The only breadcrumbs investigators have are security camera recordings showing who entered and exited the apartment building.
Unfortunately for both Patrick and Vanessa...
...they're both on camera.
Talk about a nightmare.
Enter my favorite fictional attorney, Eddie Flynn.
Patrick's legal team conveniently develops a sudden "conflict of interest" and refuses to represent Vanessa, leaving Eddie to step in as her defense attorney.
Please.
We all know that's complete nonsense.
It's painfully obvious someone wants Vanessa isolated with lawyers they can manipulate while protecting the interests of Patrick's father—a ruthless media mogul whose money, political influence, and willingness to weaponize public opinion make him far more terrifying than many serial killers I've encountered in thrillers.
One of the things I adore most about Eddie is that he refuses to defend someone simply because he can win. He still carries the emotional scars of mistakes from previous cases and desperately wants to believe his clients deserve saving.
Vanessa doesn't exactly make that easy.
She lies.
She hides things.
She constantly raises red flags.
But Eddie's instincts keep whispering the same thing.
She's hiding something...
...just not murder.
Watching him peel away layers of deception while questioning everyone—including his own judgment—is exactly why this series never gets old.
And then...
THAT OPENING.
Steve Cavanagh is absolutely evil.
The novel opens with Eddie trapped inside a car trunk, battered, bleeding, and seemingly moments away from death.
Excuse me?!
How am I supposed to calmly continue reading after that?
I spent the entire novel internally screaming, "Please don't let this be Eddie's last case!"
The suspense never lets up.
Thankfully, Harry Ford, Bloch, and Lake are once again by Eddie's side, and honestly, every reunion with this team feels like catching up with old friends. Their chemistry, loyalty, and perfectly timed humor balance the relentless tension beautifully.
But this time the stakes are even higher.
The enemy isn't just trying to destroy Eddie professionally.
They're coming after his family.
His future.
His custody battle.
His entire life.
As the investigation unfolds, the murder of Molly begins connecting to an older cold case with horrifying similarities, revealing secrets buried beneath layers of wealth, privilege, corruption, and carefully manufactured public images. Every revelation made me question everything I thought I knew.
Just when I felt confident I'd figured it out...
Steve Cavanagh smiled somewhere across the universe and pulled the rug out from under me.
Again.
And again.
And one more time for good measure.
The man simply refuses to let his readers feel comfortable.
What I continue to admire about this series is that the courtroom scenes are just as exhilarating as the investigations. Every cross-examination feels like watching a championship chess match where one wrong move could destroy an innocent person's life. Few authors write legal thrillers with this much energy, intelligence, and cinematic pacing.
Then came the ending.
That final conversation between Eddie and his client absolutely shattered me.
No explosions.
No dramatic chase.
Just an emotionally devastating exchange that quietly broke my heart far more effectively than any action sequence ever could.
That's Steve Cavanagh's greatest strength. Beneath all the breathtaking twists, impossible puzzles, courtroom fireworks, and relentless pacing lies genuine humanity. He reminds us that every case is ultimately about people—their mistakes, regrets, sacrifices, and impossible choices.
I honestly don't know how this author keeps topping himself, but somehow every Eddie Flynn novel leaves me even more obsessed than the last.
This series has become my ultimate guilty pleasure—the literary equivalent of saying, "Just one more chapter," until the birds outside start singing.
If you've somehow managed to avoid Eddie Flynn until now, fix that immediately.
Your sleep schedule may never recover...
...but it will be worth every exhausted minute.
★★★★★
Millions of thanks to NetGalley and Atria Books for sharing another completely unputdownable Eddie Flynn adventure with me in exchange for my honest thoughts. Every new installment reminds me why this remains one of my all-time favorite legal thriller series, and I already need the next book immediately

Huge thanks to @bibliopeeks for gifting me the next Eddie Flynn novel! No one does it like Eddie! It was also another buddy read and it’s #KattNikApproved !
One of Us is Guilty by Steve Cavanagh Eddie Flynn 10
Out in the UK now
Everyone who’s been here a while knows Eddie is my fictional husband! I’ve read and own them all! He’s a genius in the courtroom and a master class smartass! Swoon 🥰
Vanessa Vanderpool is on trial for killing her husband’s mistress. All evidence points to her. Her husband is a billionaire and has powerful influence.
But did she kill her or did he?
This one reads like old school Cavanagh. There’s more action and quite a bit of wit! No character is a beast in the courtroom like Eddie! No one!
I loved every minute of it. If you love high suspense and legal thrillers, you must read this series!
5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
You can order this through Blackwells out of the UK for free shipping to the US. Or you can wait until next year. Not me 🤣

“They're both lying, but which one is married to a killer?"
Steve Cavanagh does it again! One of Us Is Guilty is an absolute masterclass in misdirection. If you've ever read his work, you already know there is no easing into his books—they are fast-paced, addictive, gritty, and packed with high-stakes courtroom drama mixed with a perfect splash of humour. Before you know it, you are questioning everyone, constantly shifting your suspicions, and frantically trying to guess where he's taking you next.
What I love about the Eddie Flynn series is its accessibility; you can pick up any installment out of order and never feel lost. That said, I still highly recommend starting with the first book, The Defence, to truly appreciate Eddie’s roots.
Having read four of Cavanagh's previous books—his brilliant standalone Kill for Me, Kill for You, alongside The Defence (#1), Witness 8 (#8), and Two Kinds of Stranger (#9)—I can confidently say this is Cavanagh at his absolute best. It seamlessly blends his signature legal genius with a deeply gripping domestic and psychological thriller vibe.
The setup offers a brilliant hook. Neither Vanessa nor Patrick ever feels completely trustworthy, and Cavanagh knows exactly how to weaponize that ambiguity against the reader. Just when I thought I had everyone figured out, the rug was pulled out from under me. The second half was an absolute standout—truly brilliant execution. By now, I know that picking up a Cavanagh book means clearing my schedule. One of Us Is Guilty starts with a bang, never lets up, and does not disappoint. Add this to the very top of your TBR list immediately!
🇨🇦🇺🇸 US/Canada Publication Date: March 23, 2027 🇬🇧 Out now in the UK
What to expect:
•Multiple POVs that keep you entirely off-balance.
• A cast of highly questionable characters where no one is safe from suspicion.
• A constant, nagging feeling that someone is lying right until the final page.
Huge thanks to Atria Books and NetGalley for the digital ARC in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own.
RTC…. OMG AMAZING His best to date. I binge-read could not put it down! Need to collect my thoughts. And take Lil B to the Vet for his check up. ❤️🩹🐕🦺…

"Sorry Mr. Vanderpool...I don't care who your daddy is. If I ever see you hurting your wife again, I'll knock you the fuck out..." YAASSS Eddie!! 👏🏻
I'm not usually one for legal thrillers, but Eddie Flynn hits every single time, with this newest installment being no exception!
For those who maybe haven't read an Eddie Flynn book before, he's a con man turned criminal defense lawyer, and oh boy, is he good at the job!
For anybody who's a nerd like me and maybe plays D&D, Eddie Flynn is what we'd call chaotic good. Does he break rules and push back against standard ethics? Yes. Does he use dirty tricks and sometimes out right lie to buy himself time? Absolutely.
Eddie is 100% unhinged at times, but he does it all for the right reasons. He protects his family fiercely, fights for the innocent and wrongly accused, and always works to ensure justice is served. So, honestly, what's not to love!? The way Steven Cavanagh has made Eddie is probably one of the best things about every book in this series. He's just so likeable and easy to root for, as are his co-conspirators!
Steve Cavanagh doesn't just create stellar characters though. He also masterfully crafts every single mystery he writes.
What I really liked about this story is how multilayered it was. Essentially, there are two suspects the entire time. While it sounds like it should be easy to pick a side and theorize who the killer is, it's really not that easy. As the story goes on, the reader is slowly given new clues and pieces of information, that change how the people involved are perceived. One minute I would be 100% on board with who I thought the guilty party was, which would constantly result in me changing my opinion a chapter or two later!
Not only can the suspects, as well as many other characters, be seen in a variety of ways, the why behind the killers actions also isn't clear. There are so many possibilities I was able to come up with as to what the actual motivation behind the murder could be and yet, I was still wrong when all the prices finally came together 😅
Another thing I always really enjoy about Eddie Flynn books is the social commentary weaved throughout the story. While it's not heavy handed or overhwemling, I really enjoy that it calls to light some very real issues within institutions, such as the justice system. For example, various characters point out, in different ways, the power that money can give people and the level of control they are able to exert over others as a result of that money. For me personally, this helps the story feel more realistic to me, which honestly just makes me love Eddie and his team even more!
I will say as well that, if you haven't read any books in this series previously, don't let that stop you from checking this one out! The cases that Eddie works are different in every book, so you should be able to follow along just fine! There is some background history though that isn't always fully clear if you haven't read previous ones, though if it's important to the current story, that information is always provided!
Overall, this book was a wild ride that kept me guessing right until the end. So, if you love mysteries, morally grey and complex characters, as well as well written mysteries that keep you on your toes, then this one is for you!
This book is out March 23rd, 2027!

Clawed me in from the get go!!
A husband is having an affair. His wife discovers the truth. The other woman is found murdered. Husband and wife both visited her separately on the night she was killed, and both are caught on CCTV. Only one question remains… who did it?
The courtroom chapters were hugely entertaining, packed with clever legal arguments that kept me completely invested. Eddie’s sharp comeback lines had me chuckling. A few scenes did feel unrealistic, but I had so much fun reading this story that I didn’t really mind. I just had to know who killed Molly.
You can never go wrong with a bit of rich people drama. The politics, the power, the bribery and the media manipulation all made for a thoroughly entertaining read. I loved every minute of it.
The build up is excellent, with non stop suspense that keeps you hooked from the get go. Steve Cavanagh is a brilliant writer who really knows how to reel you in and keep you completely engaged throughout. It is fast paced, action packed and difficult to put down. I guessed a couple of the twists, and I do think it could have been a little shorter, as some chapters were more descriptive than they needed to be.
Overall, this was a thoroughly entertaining legal mystery and a proper thrill ride from start to finish. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💫

Love this series. Eddie Flynn is at it again.
This time its a murder case and the alleged killer(s) are part of one of the most powerful families in the US.
Eddie is representing the wife Vanessa but doesn't believe she's entirely innocent. Or guilty.
Vanessa was there the night of the murder following her husband who she thinks is cheating.
The victim Molly was a woman who worked for Vanessas husband Patrick.
Although they thought the victim was Molly when they found her she'd been decapitated. Vanessa, Eddie thought couldn't have done this.
This leads Eddie and his crew searching into Patricks family and why Molly was murdered.
Lots of twists in this book. If you've read the previous books this is a great addition to Eddies story

I am always excited for a new Eddie Flynn book, can you believe this is book 10! I love a good legal thriller and Eddie is one of my favourites. Former conman turned lawyer, Eddie has away of looking at the evidence in a different context to most, and he is not afraid to say what he really thinks, landing him in trouble most of the time. That is kind of lawyers you want on your side.
Highly addictive and very easy to binge read, One of Us is Guilty is one of his toughest and dangerous cases. He is up against the might of the powerful Vanderpool family who are ridiculously rich and own most of the media companies in New York. They are willing to do anything to protect their own.
I love Eddie and his trusted team of Harry, Bloch, Lake and of course Denise. They are all fiercely loyal to Eddie and will do whatever it takes to get the answers. There is always tension around these huge cases and it makes for an amazing read. The courtroom scenes are always my favourites, and more so in this book where everyone is against him and his client.
Another incredible read from Steve Cavanagh. Thank you so much to Headline for allowing me to read this book early. Out on July 30th.

I'm always disappointed when a liar's pants don't actually catch on fire.
Bold-faced big ones. As far from the truth as you can get. And yet, they stare right into your eyes with daggers of untruth daring you to swallow this bull with a widened smile.
That's what our Eddie Flynn, former con artist now turned successful lawyer, is about to deal with. Eddie faces lies served on a silver tray day in and day out. He mulls the thought over and over again about whether or not to take on a particular client. It's always gonna be a crap shoot regardless.
Vanessa Vanderpool is the wife of Patrick who is running for governor in the state of New York. Patrick is backed plenty by his billionaire father. His father always pulls the strings. But Vanessa has found herself in deep doodoo. She's been accused of murdering Patrick's mistress. What!? Wait. Let's back this up a bit.
Vanessa felt Patrick's cheating persona a mile away. Molly Green had been hired to assist him in his run for governor. Vanessa notices how Patrick and Molly are beyond familiar with one another. So Vanessa follows Patrick to Molly's apartment late one night. Molly turns up dead the next day. (And her death is not for the squeamish. Be warned.) Two Vanderpools making late night calls. But only one of them is being charged. Guilty? But which is which?
Steve Cavanagh never does dull. If you've ever read any of the Eddie Flynn novels before, you know that Cavanagh lines this series with crazy, off-the-wall stuff. But it's always brilliant and beyond expectations. Cavanagh elevates the character of Eddie Flynn by inserting two of Eddie's assistants: Bloch, who packs quite the arsenal and Gabriel Lake, former FBI, who is known for coloring outside the lines. One of Us Is Guilty provides plenty of twists and turns and unexpected avenues of intrigue. It can be read as a standalone, but be sure to pick up some of the earlier ones to get a feel for Eddie's legal antics. It's another spotlight performance for the stellar Steve Cavanagh. Be sure to slide over for Eddie. He deserves the accolades as well.
I received a copy of this book through NetGalley for an honest review. My thanks to Atria Books and to the talented Steve Cavanagh for the opportunity.

🚨FIVE STAR STUNNER ALERT!
"One law for the poor. Another for the rich. And no laws for the ultra-rich."
This starts off with a nail-biting scene of Eddie in peril and then shifts to a horrendous murder where a wealthy married couple are suspects; I finished this thrill-ride within twenty-four hours! Eddie is defending the wife and believes she's innocent, though he senses she's lying about something—but what?
With a breakneck pace that doesn't let up, the motives and hidden secrets are difficult to figure out. I put a few things together, but twisty layers kept my mind spinning. With Kate (Eddie's partner) gone, the courtroom drama is all Eddie and infused with his laughter-inducing sarcasm—I can't get enough! He's an exceptional strategist; his con-man background serves him well in the legal arena, along with his willingness to ride the line—or even cross it—to do what's best for his client.
Bloch (Eddie's investigator) and Lake (a former FBI agent), each dangerous and formidable on their own, team up. Working together seamlessly, they're a force to be reckoned with; their scenes pop off the pages like an action-crime fiction film! Can we get the Eddie Flynn books adapted to a TV series already?! The intensity builds as the conclusion approaches, so be prepared to let all obligations go until you've finished.
Steve Cavanagh is a master of legal arguments and courtroom intrigue. My favorite scenes are Eddie's cross-examination of witnesses. The battle of wills within the structure of the law is pure brilliance—it's the ultimate brain food!
Fans of the series will love that Eddie is back in the courtroom doing what he does best. Readers new to the series will love the legal thrills, the psychological guessing games, and characters you grow attached to. Either way, if you're a fan of layered mysteries, secrets and lies, and breathtaking action, ONE OF US IS GUILTY is a must-read!

4.5 Eddie Flynn Rocks Stars
I didn’t notice that this is book #10 featuring Eddie Flynn; I just automatically read these as soon as I can! I think they are getting better and better, and I hope Steve Cavanagh keeps writing because I'm eagerly awaiting the next installment!
The book opens with Eddie locked in a trunk, and his future looks dire. Why has he ended up here, and is there any hope?
We then go a few months back to get the story, and of course it features murder and a fantastic court case. I love some of the side characters in this series; Bloch is a woman I would want on my team any day, and I hope to have more from her partner Lake someday too. Harry, the former judge, is also featured here. This team is quite the powerhouse on a case!
We meet the powerful political family, the Vanderpools, as Eddie is hired to defend Vanessa. She’s married to Patrick, and he's set to rise to high political office soon. Since Patrick’s father is a media mogul, he can use the press to his advantage.
Patrick’s employee (and lover?), Molly Green is murdered, and both Patrick and Vanessa are suspects. Why did the family hire Eddie to defend Vanessa when they could hire a team from one of the big law firms in town? Are they trying to pin the murder on Vanessa?
I always like the court cases in this series, especially when Eddie is featured. I wonder what ingenious maneuvers he will conjure up. It comes in handy that he started as a con man!
I did guess a few pieces of this, but other things were a surprise. I do love Eddie Flynn as a character, and I hope there’s a long future ahead for him!
Debra, Dorie, and I had a great buddy read with this one.
My thanks to Atria for the opportunity to read and honestly review this one. Scheduled to publish on 3.23.2027.

"But the law doesn't work. And I can't live with that. I'd been down that road and people got hurt. When the law fails, I have no choice but to do things my way."
This quote sets the tone for the book, which transitions from a murder investigation into a courtroom drama. The toxic family dynamics keep you hooked, and Bloch, Eddie’s investigator, is a highlight. I was frustrated by a reckless decision the protagonist makes toward the end of the book, even if it drives the plot forward to a breakthrough. The strength of the story lies in its moral complexity, as legal boundaries create an ethical dilemma over what justice means. It's a great read with sharp writing.

What a brilliant read.
This book starts out as any other murder mystery. But with Steve Cavanagh, nothing is ever as it seems.
It is an unputdownable novel in the truest sense of the word, and i raced through it, only to be disappointed that I'd read it so quickly and now I have a long wait for the next Eddie Flynn book!

I really like Steve Cavanagh’s Eddie Flynn books, and this was another good one. Eddie is a fascinating character, especially when he is working out how to turn an impossible situation to his advantage.
But with every new case, his enemies seem to become more dangerous, and his own life—and the lives of those close to him—are put at greater risk. The series is becoming darker and darker, not so much because of the crimes themselves, but because of the growing sense of hopelessness surrounding Eddie. It sometimes feels as if there is no way for him to pursue justice without putting everything he cares about in danger.
Still, I enjoyed the book and will be interested to see where Eddie’s story goes next.

Only I would start a series I have been meaning to start for ages on book 10, even though I own all the other 9 books in the series. Why? because I was approved for the ARC of this book and I have no control! However I am proof that you can totally read this series as standalones! Might I have rated it a straight 5 stars had I read them in order? Possibly. Will I go back and start the series as Steve intended and read them chronologically? also yes. Will i end up re-reading this book once I've made my way through all 9 preceding books? most probably!
I must be going through a total legal thriller vibe because this was the 2nd legal thriller book I devoured in July! This was just so fast paced with the short punchy chapters that it made it incredibly addictive and I couldn't put it down.
I always enjoy rich people drama and this was next level! A multiple POV book, with multiple twists, courtroom drama and an ending with a bang! I'm glad I got to finally meet Eddie and the gang!!
Many thanks to Headline for providing me with a copy of the book for review via NetGalley. All opinions are my own.

Another enjoyable Eddie Flynn book. Nothing too special about the plot or writing but I still highly enjoy it. Great narrator.
Review of advance copy received from NetGalley
One of Us Is Guilty is book 10 in the Eddie Flynn series, but don’t let that stop you if you haven’t read the others. This one can definitely be read as a standalone. Eddie Flynn, a former con man turned lawyer, finds himself representing Vanessa Vanderpool, the wife of gubernatorial candidate Patrick Vanderpool and daughter in law of ultra wealthy New Yorker Julian Vanderpool. When one of Patrick’s staff members is murdered, everyone seems to have something to hide.
There are lies, secrets, wealth, privilege, and plenty of twists and turns that kept me guessing. I especially love how Cavanagh writes the legal side of the story. There’s enough detail to make it interesting without making it difficult to follow.
And, of course, there’s Eddie… How is he going to get himself out of this one?!
A fast paced legal psychological thriller that pulled me in and kept me turning the pages. If you enjoy clever courtroom drama, unreliable characters, and twists you won’t see coming, I highly recommend this one!
Five stars from me! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Thank you to NetGalley and Atria Books for providing me with an eBook copy in exchange for an honest review.
Wow! Where do I even begin with this fast-paced crime thriller?
The story opens with a gruesome murder, and at the center of it all is a wealthy, powerful couple. Molly, the victim, was an assistant on Patrick’s political campaign, and also his mistress. Vanessa, Patrick’s wife, knew about the affair and understood that her life would be forever changed if it continued. So when Molly ends up murdered, everyone becomes a suspect. Was it the charming, up-and-coming governor trying to save his career? Or the scorned wife pushed to her breaking point?
I had no idea this was book 10 in the series when I requested it on NetGalley, but I was able to jump right in without feeling lost. The author does an excellent job of making the story accessible for new readers while still making me want to go back and read the earlier books.
From beginning to end, this book had my anxiety through the roof. I actually had to take several breaks between chapters just to calm my heart rate! It was a wild, twist-filled ride that kept me guessing until the very end. I’d happily have Eddie Flynn as my lawyer anytime. I loved this book so much that I can’t wait to go back and read the rest of the series!

4.0 / 5.0
Great book from start to finish, managed to read the book in one straight day after a stressful time at work. This book took all my worries away, and provided some rest bite. It’s a great book from start to finish, it’s unpredictable and typical Eddie Flynn fashion, I’ve missed this character - his confidence, his flare and persona to tackle everything head on when the case is against him and he’s fighting almost a losing battle. There’s not a dull moment in the book, and just as the book finishes there’s another twist that I definitely didn’t see coming.
We meet Patrick Vanderpool who is the son of a billionaire media mogul, and destined for power but he’s having an affair that could ruin everything. Vanessa Vanderpool is married to Patrick, and she has her own ambitions. But the affair that he’s having could ruin everything. But when the other woman is found brutally murdered, there are only two suspects. One of them is guilty, but which one?
Overall a great quality book, definitely worth the time investment - you won’t be disappointed, and I haven’t been disappointed at all in the Eddie Flynn series. It’s always been a regular staple in the series I follow.

When this proof popped through my letterbox last Friday, I just couldn’t believe my luck! This is my favourite thriller series, so I just couldn’t resist diving into this latest one straight away.
And what a rollercoaster of a ride it was: it was absolutely BRILLIANT! Eddie Flynn fans, you’re in for a real treat with this one.
Once more, Steve Cavanagh stuns and surprises with his cleverly written plot, which is intricately woven together like a spider’s web. I loved the different POVs, the different scenarios, and the wit and humour woven throughout.
I just love it when Eddie stands up to begin a trial in court: I get a tingle of excitement with the anticipation of seeing how he’s going to handle each case, and I adore seeing how he outwits his adversaries, and takes them down a peg or two.
Theres a lot more to this story than the courtroom though, and I loved seeing Bloch and Lake play a part in the action again. I was on tenterhooks the whole way through: wondering what was going to happen next, and who the guilty person was. For once, I did wonder if Eddie had backed the right person.
This is the tenth book in this series, and I just relished every page and chapter. It’s an action-packed, masterfully crafted read, and it’s my new favourite book in the series! 🙌🙌
I was sent a proof by the publishers in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own.

Review of advance copy received from NetGalley
‘One of them is married to a killer. But which one? The author of Kill for Me, Kill for You returns with a high-octane thriller that will keep you guessing from beginning to end.’
Cavanagh is one of my favorites when it comes to legal thrillers. He’s nearly impossible to put down. Every single time.
MC, attorney, Eddie Flynn is top tier and absolutely unforgettable.
Clever, unpredictable and entertaining as hell.
The books in the Flynn series are a guaranteed good time.
Thanks to Atria for the opportunity.

Another great Eddie Flynn novel! One of Us is Guilty actually made me squeamish and that never happens. I love seeing what kind of antics Flynn and his team get up to. Such great characters and I love how well they work together. This was a great installment.
Thank you to NetGalley for this arc.

Thank you NetGalley and Atria Publishing for this #gifted ARC in exchange for an honest review.
From a writing perspective, this was great and Eddie Flynn is probably the most confident we’ve ever seen him. BUT, this was also probably my least favorite Steve Cavanagh book so far.
I just wasn’t as interested in the storyline itself. The wealthy married couple, powerful family, political drama, etc. felt a little bleh to me, and this one seemed to focus more heavily on the political and legal side than his other books.
It wasn’t until around the 50% mark that I really started getting into the story. I also wish we had gotten more of the other characters’ POVs earlier because those were the parts that made things more interesting for me. Overall still a great read and I genuinely love the Eddie Flynn series.
