Unfortunately this book was very underwhelming.I really thought this book would be angst and grovel galore but it was absolutely diabolical.No grovel from anyone.Drake was the one who felt the worst even though he was the one who was with Marie the most and he didn't seem to care when she left which is odd for someone who couldn't stay away from her? Eli was the biggest let down in my opinion,no grovel didn't even feel like he cared about Vee at all.He was shockingly pathetic.Ragon was the only one who faced consequences which was wrong because regardless they all participated in what they did.Vee's new pack were forgiven from the get go with no grovel just excuses that Vee accepted.Vee could of been this epic steel spined fmc but instead she was weak and had no backbone at all.Marie the one who lied and manipulated everything was given no consequences at all and got off scott free and didn't even care she had to leave her scent matches when she couldn't be away from them previously.
Now there's going to be a book about Marie.I am out thank you,I don't want to read about that used up lying wining manipulative bitch.
All in all this book was the biggest disappointment of 2026 so far.

Vee forgave way too easily. The biggest plot holes of book one feel retconned with contradictory in-world rules that don’t really make sense, and the pack’s reaction to Marie’s lies once the heat was over, was a big ol’ nothing burger.

The relationships in book one were so well-developed and thoughtful and book two lost that for me. I wanted to feel strongly about her final pack in the end and I just…didn’t?

I didn’t feel very strongly about anyone in her final pack. I liked them but I didn’t love their relationships with each other. It just felt rushed. Also I am not prepared for the next book to likely be about Marie. I just cannot lmao.

I’m honestly so disappointed.
After finishing Tormented Omega, I was heartbroken, angry, and completely invested. That book set up the perfect foundation for a sequel filled with groveling, accountability, and justice for Vee after everything she endured.
Unfortunately, Claimed Omega delivers almost none of that.
The biggest issue is the complete lack of payoff. This is a story built on betrayal her scent matches knew for months that she was their scent match and still chose to manipulate and gaslight her. And yet there are barely any real consequences. There’s no meaningful groveling (aside from one character which goes nowhere), no real accountability, and no satisfying resolution to the emotional damage that was done.
What made it more frustrating is that Vee herself often acknowledges that things don’t add up or that she should be asking questions but then just… doesn’t. It feels like major plot points are intentionally glossed over instead of explored, which makes the story feel shallow where it should have had the most depth.
Character-wise, there were some really disappointing shifts. Relationships that felt genuine in the first book (Eli and Vee) suddenly feel disconnected or underdeveloped here. One character in particular, who had one of the strongest emotional ties to Vee previously, barely seems to care about losing her. Another character’s personality and motivations feel completely inconsistent, and a hinted backstory is introduced but never properly addressed. (Marie)
The only real highlight for me was the introduction of the new alpha he was compelling, and I wish more time had been spent developing that dynamic because it had real potential. But even that wasn’t enough to carry the story when so many important threads were left unresolved.
Overall, this felt like a sequel that avoided the very things it set up. After the emotional intensity of the first book, I expected catharsis. Instead, I was left frustrated. They ALL (especially Marie and Ragon) deserved to suffer and instead we got excuses for their behavior and apparently an eventual redemption arc for Marie.

I am so happy that Vee got her happily ever after! While this book didn’t have as big of an impact on me as Tormented Omega, it was perfectly satisfying. I loved how the author took their time with the healing process and everything that went with it. The characters are so well written that I empathized with Drake, Eli AND Ragon at a point which I thought was impossible.
I did feel a bit disconnected with the romance but honestly, that’s not what this story is about. It’s about love, yes, but in the safe, soft way. It’s also about healing and growth. I never felt that burning tension between Vee and any of the guys, but I did feel like they truly chose her and I believed in their love.
I am so curious to see what’s next in this series. I see a lot of things being set up and I’m a little scared, I’m not going to lie. But I can’t wait.

Oof... after rating the first book at five stars, I expected so much more from this. It was just so bland. Most of the story is very "slice of life." There's a ton of banter that goes on... and on... and on. There's a ton of napping, sitting and movie watching. There's also a lot of repetition. I'm not sure how many times it was mentioned that Eli used to bring her tea but it was way too many. There's almost no spice or romance, which is fine, but it's not what I personally wanted from a RH. I also found the resolution with her previous pack very unsatisfying. I found myself not caring about the characters at all and that's so disappointing after how much I cared in the first book.
Unfortunately, this book badly needed an editor or just a few good beta readers. There were many typos and that's not something I usually notice. I would read more from this author because the talent is there but I hope she reads the more critical reviews and uses the feedback in the future.

The first book was agony. The second book made me happier than I ever thought possible.
I really appreciate this layered and original take on rejected mates. I love the horrible/amazing angst of this trope, but I’ve struggled with the biology vs choice issue, too. This is the first rejected mates book I’ve read that addresses that in a meaningful way, and is also a deliberate, unsparing look at and how it fundamentally and irrevocably changes you.

I actually don't know how I feel about this book apart from rather disappointed and let down. After the incredible high of Tormented Omega I was jonesing for a lot of my questions to be fleshed out and answered in this one, and instead I got a whole lot of "laters" and plot holes just left hanging out there or dismissed with little to no explanation - so frustrating. The writing in this book is nowhere near the level of goodness we got in the first book, and let this one down badly. TBH I'm wondering if the same person (AI?) even wrote both books??
What really stuck in my craw is that Eli and Drake got off so lightly for their horrific crimes against Vee, and Marie suffered ZERO consequence whatsoever!! It came across quite clearly that the author (AI?) does not like Vee but really loves Marie a whole lot. AND, and, and..... apparently she's going to be getting a book?!?!? Yeah, no I will for sure be giving that a pass. There is no redeeming some characters and Marie is one of those characters.

I really enjoyed this duet! I have a terrible track record with hating the book twos in OV duets but I enjoyed this one! So a major win for me. The first half was much stronger for me than the second half. I was really worried having so many POVs here after the single POV but it worked out, phew.
This review is going to be super scattered lol.
I smiled through all of those early interactions with Rhys and the pack dynamic. So adorably cute and sweet. I loved seeing her find her place in this pack. It felt natural and organic. Everything felt so settled for her which is what she needed. Im so glad things with the relationship were not insta. I did not want the h to go into instant sex and all the physical touch and cuddle immediately since she was still in love with other men. I was worried with how insta the scent match and scent lust/scent drunk stuff was with Marie that we were going to see the same thing with Vee and so grateful that we didn’t. That being said I do wish we had more sex. I’m pretty bummed that we didn’t get a scene of her going into a heat after she was bonded to the bed.
A lot of this book feels like set up for the future books, which is fine, I didn’t mind that. I just wish it was executed slightly better. We got a lot of telling verses showing with some of the romance in the last half. There were so many situations that needed to be developed and wrapped up.
I didn’t like the edition of the past scenes with her previous men. It wasn’t necessary. We don’t need to see other scenes of her being romantic with other guys , even used in this way, while trying to form connections to the current men. We already know what the h had experienced with them. It didn’t add to the angst in anyway for me but it didn’t take away from the romance and connection that I was trying to form with her current men.
Was Ragon awful in the wrong in a lot of ways? Totally. Many, many ways. I did miss that type of character though, bossy alpha. I missed having that very take charge, ‘I know what you need better than you do vibe” for the h in her new pack. They’re all just so sweet and careful with her. This is a me thing too. I struggle with really traumatized hs and how careful the guys have to be. Her guys were just toooo sweet for me though.
Around 80% is where things kind of fell apart for me:
I started getting bored with the carefulness, the obstacles to bonding. I didn’t need anymore scenes of her hanging out with them in cabin to know she is healing and that their pack dynamic is healthy. I wanted more heat from these guys. This is your fated omega! Do something with her beside tv and yoga. Yes, Drake is there but even if he wasn’t these guys weren’t going to do enough for me.
I was really bothered that they kept reminding her that she had choices.There was just too much talk about choice and you can have whatever you want, we’ll support you. That isn’t romantic to me especially when we’re talking fated scent matches here. Be confident that you’re the absolutely best thing out there for her.
Im conflicted about the “twist” in the end with their scent match and how if the bond breaks so does the scent match. That irritated me for the h. I wanted that all consuming connection for her. That’s the whole point of picking up fated mate and OV type books. The twist diminished the specialness of it to me. I guess it really is just biology. Not very romantic. I did however like it because it means that Marie, Eli, and Drake could have another scent match out there. Idk if that even means anything with the way she has written the scent matches though, lol. So far we haven’t really seen that there is any advantage to being a scent matched bonded pack verses just a regular bonded pack. 🤷🏻♀️ I didn’t mind the original pack throwing Marie out. I can understand why they would never forgive her and at the time it felt like a big sacrifice but it doesn’t really seem like that anymore. I’m going to have to see what she does with this scent match stuff in the future. Part of me thinks she needs to sit down and evaluate what she’s writing a bit more though. Impact in one scene can really change the interpretation of other scenes so, so much. Now maybe that’s her intention since she obviously prefers chosen mates verses fated or maybe she needs to be a bit more careful.
I am not at all a vengeful person so I did not like the flag for Rogan either. This world def needs a rehabilitation program and support for the alphas like they do for the omegas.
Super excited to see what else she does in this world. I’m excited to see what is up with Marie. Do we think she’s going to end up with Chase, Arden, and Jasper? Eek! That’s complicated!!

The depth of insight and being able to put into words the level of insight was very good.
However this book dragged and I skimmed towards the end.
Also-the level of grovel was done at a very clinical and handshake level. Underwhelming so not as delicious as book 1

IT'S OUT!! IT'S HERE!!
But I seriously cant take off today, so I gotta go to work and grade exams 🤬🤬🤬.
Having this book in my kindle locked and loaded, but not being able to read it might be more torturous than waiting for it to come out 😫😫. This is definitely a character building exercise, but the will is very, very weak.
Update: 4.4.2026:
She did it. She really did it guys!! Miss Mary Magdalyn truly gave us a satisfying end to the duology in my opinion. I will say, I did find the beginning a bit repetitive and awkward prose wise, and some of the detail work a tad bit clumsy, but she really, really pulled it off for me. (Again, smashed this ~500 pg book in about 5 hours, and it just blew by. I thought I was on page 100, and instead was on 320 lol. It could've gone on for another 200 pages easily and I wouldn't have minded one bit)
You want revenge? You're getting it. Vee is our polished, generous, benevolent, unbothered queen. She's too busy building a wonderful new life with her Alphas & Beta to worry about feeling guilty for moving on. She knows what she deserves, and shes going after it. But mind you this was very respectable revenge, which might not be to everyone's taste, but is exactly to mine. This book was full of delicate nuance. It wasn't over the top, and it wasn't unrealistic. Vee got revenge by being happy, being kind, and minding her business which is, in my opinion as the most spiteful human on the planet, the best form of revenge.
Now here's something that is a bit of a conflict point for me. I'm sooooo excited for Chase and Arden's book!?!? To me they were the best guys. They fought so hard for Vee's happily ever after, even when they had no stake in the game. They knew there was very little chance they got an omega out of the deal, but put their necks on the line time and time again for Vee to end up happy. I honestly love them to death, and I find them to be such interesting characters. I know for sure their job has had to have done a number on these guys mentally, and I'm so excited to watch them find love, and to see Jasper redeem himself. I can't wait to see Jasper and come to terms with what his time with Ragon's pack asked of him, and watch them rebuild their pack. I still see Jasper as a good guy that was put in a really terrible situation, just like Alex, Malcom, and Finn.
Now, this was a conflict point for me because this made it a bit hard to focus on Vee's happily ever after with her pack (when I was low key shipping her with other people). But, alas. Such is the life of a girl that grew up on Fanfic, we're never truly satisfied with cannon pairings 😆. But I'm just gonna just put all my trust and faith in our Lady Mary Magdalyn to give them the most perfect Omega love interest, (please, for the love of god not Marie, I want her story too, but not with them, and I need a little break and distance between her and Vee to really be able to empathize with her when the time comes).
Anyways, it was great. Fantastic even. I'm so happy it wasn't a flop, after the massive impact the first book had on me. I'm just docking one star for some repetitiveness and clumsiness in getting things started in the beginning, but other than that It was so good. Definitely not the same emotional impact as the first, but more of a soft warm thrum of feeling. Like watching something beautiful building, like the lead up to a sunrise. The soft whisper of a heavy book closed with the words "The End". Just so satisfying!
Some things I really, really loved was that the relationship building was so human. I think that's what also made it so hard to tell who she was going to end up with, because the way Vee thought about her relationship with Drake and Eli in the past, the safety she felt, the love, the domestic bliss she remembered, was also what she experienced from Malcom and Alex and the pack. None of the relationships in the book really eclipsed the others, because they were all real. You saw her genuine love and affection for Ragon's pack, and you saw her develop that with Alex's pack. Leaving Ragon didn't just cause her feelings to vanish for him or Drake, and the new bonds she built weren't somehow magical, or even clearly better than what she felt with her past pack. All of it was just real.
I also loved seeing Vee's pack relationship grow by just watching them orbit around one another. Build routines, fall into domestic bliss. (I also just love Rhys. Giant man blushing after a kiss on the cheek? Constantly bringing her things? Fucking adorable 🥺🥺). This book was so comforting in a way that a lot of books that market themselves as "omegaverse comfort" don't manage to achieve.
I also loved how the sex scenes were basically only about building connection. They were about showing the development of deep trust and intimacy. There were some scenes were I pre-emptively rolled my eyes like "ahh shit here we go." The yoga scene for example. I was just expecting the tone to dramatically shift and it to turn into your typical omegaverse fuckfest but it didn't. Cause Mary Magdalyn is a tasteful queen who is consistent with the tone she's trying to set.
No shame. There's a time and a place and a book for that kinda thing (and trust me, I'll still read it🤣🤣) but it wasn't here, and she knew that.
Some might find the lack of spice disappointing, but to me, the perfect placement and tastefulness of the sex scenes it just emphasized all of the emotional depth the author worked so hard to develop.
The last thing I'll say is that Mary has got the mystery aspect down perfectly in my opinion. The mystery came about naturally in the plot line, it wasn't flaunted in the reader's face constantly, but the curiosity for the hidden back stories and connections arose naturally, and built to a fever pitch. Sometimes, I feel like I get rage baited by authors that wag unknown elements in our face like "omg you don't know what's going on, isn't that CRAZY?? Don't you wanna know??? Having this book in my kindle locked and loaded, but not being able to read it might be more torturous than waiting for it to come out 😫😫. This is definitely a character building exercise, but the will is very, very weak.

She did it. She really did it guys!! Miss Mary Magdalyn truly gave us a satisfying end to the duology in my opinion. I will say, I did find the beginning a bit repetitive and awkward prose wise, and some of the detail work a tad bit clumsy, but she really, really pulled it off for me. (Again, smashed this ~500 pg book in about 5 hours, and it just blew by. I thought I was on page 100, and instead was on 320 lol. It could've gone on for another 200 pages easily and I wouldn't have minded one bit)
You want revenge? You're getting it. Vee is our polished, generous, benevolent, unbothered queen. She's too busy building a wonderful new life with her Alphas & Beta to worry about feeling guilty for moving on. She knows what she deserves, and shes going after it. But mind you this was very respectable revenge, which might not be to everyone's taste, but is exactly to mine. This book was full of delicate nuance. It wasn't over the top, and it wasn't unrealistic. Vee got revenge by being happy, being kind, and minding her business which is, in my opinion as the most spiteful human on the planet, the best form of revenge.
Now here's something that is a bit of a conflict point for me. I'm sooooo excited for Chase and Arden's book!?!? To me they were the best guys. They fought so hard for Vee's happily ever after, even when they had no stake in the game. They knew there was very little chance they got an omega out of the deal, but put their necks on the line time and time again for Vee to end up happy. I honestly love them to death, and I find them to be such interesting characters. I know for sure their job has had to have done a number on these guys mentally, and I'm so excited to watch them find love, and to see Jasper redeem himself. I can't wait to see Jasper and come to terms with what his time with Ragon's pack asked of him, and watch them rebuild their pack. I still see Jasper as a good guy that was put in a really terrible situation, just like Alex, Malcom, and Finn.
Now, this was a conflict point for me because this made it a bit hard to focus on Vee's happily ever after with her pack (when I was low key shipping her with other people). But, alas. Such is the life of a girl that grew up on Fanfic, we're never truly satisfied with cannon pairings 😆. But I'm just gonna just put all my trust and faith in our Lady Mary Magdalyn to give them the most perfect Omega love interest, (please, for the love of god not Marie, I want her story too, but not with them, and I need a little break and distance between her and Vee to really be able to empathize with her when the time comes).
Anyways, it was great. Fantastic even. I'm so happy it wasn't a flop, after the massive impact the first book had on me. I'm just docking one star for some repetitiveness and clumsiness in getting things started in the beginning, but other than that It was so good. Definitely not the same emotional impact as the first, but more of a soft warm thrum of feeling. Like watching something beautiful building, like the lead up to a sunrise. The soft whisper of a heavy book closed with the words "The End". Just so satisfying!
Some things I really, really loved was that the relationship building was so human. I think that's what also made it so hard to tell who she was going to end up with, because the way Vee thought about her relationship with Drake and Eli in the past, the safety she felt, the love, the domestic bliss she remembered, was also what she experienced from Malcom and Alex and the pack. None of the relationships in the book really eclipsed the others, because they were all real. You saw her genuine love and affection for Ragon's pack, and you saw her develop that with Alex's pack. Leaving Ragon didn't just cause her feelings to vanish for him or Drake, and the new bonds she built weren't somehow magical, or even clearly better than what she felt with her past pack. All of it was just real.
I also loved seeing Vee's pack relationship grow by just watching them orbit around one another. Build routines, fall into domestic bliss. (I also just love Rhys. Giant man blushing after a kiss on the cheek? Constantly bringing her things? Fucking adorable 🥺🥺). This book was so comforting in a way that a lot of books that market themselves as "omegaverse comfort" don't manage to achieve.
I also loved how the sex scenes were basically only about building connection. They were about showing the development of deep trust and intimacy. There were some scenes were I pre-emptively rolled my eyes like "ahh shit here we go." The yoga scene for example. I was just expecting the tone to dramatically shift and it to turn into your typical omegaverse fuckfest but it didn't. Cause Mary Magdalyn is a tasteful queen who is consistent with the tone she's trying to set.
No shame. There's a time and a place and a book for that kinda thing (and trust me, I'll still read it🤣🤣) but it wasn't here, and she knew that.

Well, that was disappointing.
DNF at 50%
This book is in serious need of some editing. I was able to overlook the issues in the previous book because the angst was really good, but I can’t do the same here.
I’m halfway through, and there is no romance at all. No passion, no chemistry, no love, just a whole lot of nothing. For an omegaverse story, that’s a fatal mistake.
I expected a story about healing, moving forward, building new relationship, and maybe some grovel. Instead, it’s been pointless chapter after pointless chapter, lots of filler dialogue that adds nothing to the plot, unnecessary flashbacks, and constant POV changes that don’t serve the story. We DO NOT need any of that.
The plot isn’t moving forward at all and I’m honestly already bored at this point. For example, why is there an entire chapter about Vee meeting her friends at a bistro just to talk about nothing meaningful? Is that really necessary?
Honestly, this book could have been cut in half. It does not need 442 pages, especially after the previous book was already 500 pages long. The story feels unnecessarily dragged out, which only reinforces my point: this book desperately needed editing.

I've never been so let down and disappointed by a follow up book. I'm fairly certain AI was used, there are multiple misspelled words and weird grammar. The first book was single POV and now we're thrust into multiple POV where everyone's voice sounds the same. The book is padded with repeated information and the payoff from everything that happened to Vee in the first book is a total disappointment.
Feels like this author waited until the night before to finish her book, ran it through AI, didn't bother to edit and slapped bow on it.

1. Malcolm told Vee, “But for now, it’s just those two options. Registry substitutes, Ragon, or us.” That’s three options.
2. When Vee woke up after fainting, Malcolm was sitting, dressed, on the edge of her bed. They discussed him and Finn helping her with her heat and she agreed. Suddenly, they were having $ex without either one of them taking their clothes off.
3. Marie kept telling the pack that there were “things they didn’t understand” about why she manipulated them and why she lied about Vee pushing her into the gorilla enclosure. When she repeatedly refused to tell Ragon what she meant, why didn’t he use his alpha bark on her?
4. In the first book, Finn spent a lot of time working with Vee in the garden. In this book, he refused to even do yoga outdoors because he didn’t “do bugs”.
5. It didn’t make sense to me that Alex was flagged from having an Omega for protecting an Omega from being beaten by her alpha.
6. This book was way too long and repetitive. I could have done without a lot of the baking, gardening and meal prep/shopping.
7. I didn’t like the fact that Ragon realized that he never loved Vee. It meant that he didn’t suffer enough when he lost her.
8. Why were Alex's pack looking at four-bedroom houses when they needed at least six?
9. I hated that Marie suffered zero consequences for everything she did to Vee and to her pack.
10. Everyone (except Marie) felt guilty for what they did to Vee but there was no attempt to make amends. Regardless, Vee just forgave everyone and wished them the best. It was unrealistic and very unsatisfying.
11. It took Vee WAY too long to decide against going back to Ragon’s pack.
12. I didn’t like that the scent match was broken. I wanted Vee to have that AND a pack she loved.
13. Although the story was technically resolved, there were a LOT of unanswered questions about Marie that left me feeling like this book was just another cliffhanger.

2.5 stars. I don't know how I feel about this book. I guess underwhelmed?
It wasn't awful or anything, I just expected a more dramatic end with some groveling and instead it was a bland guilt-fest where everyone felt bad for their actions but no one actually made amends (other than doing the right thing and testifying at the trial) and she forgave them all way too easily.
Ragon was the only one who had any real consequences for his actions. Nothing happened to Marie despite her instigating most of the abuse.
Vee's scent matches were about as boring in this book as they were in the last one, which was surprising because I'd assumed they'd make the jump from friendly neighbors to potential lovers and have some chemistry with her finally. But no. Seems like all of that was reserved for Rhys, so I'm glad he was introduced, but I was disappointed by the rest of them. They felt more like a support group than her harem. Like, flirt with her a bit or SOMETHING, damn.
Anyway, I'm glad she finally ended up with people who liked her enough to claim her, at least.

What a ride!
I have issues with this book: the flag preventing them from bonding, the fact that Alex and Malcolm were basically the same person (not very different from each other), and some bits here and there.
What I did enjoy is the healing, the other traumatized alpha, the tangled web of events that slowly become unraveled and build a compelling, complex situation.
I think the resolution, the groveling, the way the characters get what they deserve and the ending forgiveness was excellent.
Overall, the angst was what I wanted and it was superb, thanks.

Honestly, this book healed what book one broke. We started right where we left off and we begun Vee’s healing journey.
All of the obstacles the pack had to go through and the one scent that took the lead of healing was a nice surprise. She really deserved her happily ever after. I can’t wait to see what happens with the Next pack and Marie..

I loved this book. This book was so good. Now I’m going to have some spoilers
I didn’t realize how much I loved Drake and Eli though until she said her peace to them and I was crying. I wanted to redeem them and add them to her new pack and didn’t even realize that’s what I was waiting for until it was no longer an option.

Perfect
I was so happy for Vee and her Alphas. I just knew there had to be a HEA for her. I wasn't expecting what happened to the ordinal pack but there was consequences.

While I don’t think this was quite as good as book 1, I’m actually shocked by all the low reviews. I don’t really agree with any of them and I’m glad I kept reading instead of taking too much stock in them. I think some people were hoping for more steam perhaps, but I much prefer story. This was a very low spice duology overall. I think everything was resolved cleanly with a few small doors open for expansion.
I noticed that some folks felt there was a lack of grovel, but I felt it was a good enough balance and was okay with how everything ended up based on each individual’s part that they played. I’m not a fan of ridiculous over abundant or repetitive groveling and begging especially with characters that are not end game (like I actually didn’t care about her old pack’s groveling and apologies at all, they were no longer important to me but I’m glad she was able to get her closure).
I see a lot of people upset that Marie wasn’t ’punished’ enough, but I felt throughout book 1 that we were given a lot of hints that there is much more going on with her than at the surface (through Vee’s eyes we see a lot of comments about strange expressions and mood changes like she keeps catching herself). I was not at all surprised by the confirmation in book 2 that she’s in a dubious situation herself AND I think there are enough glimpses of her conflict that justify a redemption arc as her own story. I never really considered her the actual villain in this story. I thought it was pretty obvious that both were victims but for different reasons and on different sides. The pack were the villains, especially Ragon, and yes Marie played a part in everything, but they made their own choices. Do I think her and Vee will ever be friends? No. Nor should they. But I don’t think Marie is irredeemable either. I actually think if the author handles it well she could build Marie into a more compelling and heartbreaking anti-heroine than any of us expect.

The story is a masterclass in how to write deeply flawed and complex characters.
I’ve never hated characters so viscerally and yet felt compassion for them because I can objectively see their point of view and their motivations. And that right there is how you identify good writing.
It doesn’t make their actions right. But it does make them understandable.

Ragon is such an interesting antagonist, because from his perspective, he is trying desperately to do right by his pack, by his scent match, and by Vee, the omega he never claimed but promised to care for.
He does it all wrong, and fucks up around every corner. But you can appreciate that in his mind, he is trying to manage everyone, lead everyone and keep everyone in a neat compartment that ensures stability of the pack.
He doesn’t get it right.
He ends up destroying everyone and everything that he cares about. And at the end, you feel a deep compassion for him despite his long list of failures.
Drake? Well, he faces bond break-sickness because he wises up and leaves Ragon. But it’s too little too late.
The fact that Vee still chooses to care for him when he is vulnerable speaks to her as an omega and person.
Eli is complicated, as they all are. But his betrayal of Vee, in my opinion, cut deeper. He was her safe space. Until he wasn’t. It felt right that he stayed to help her with Jasper. I felt for him deeply. He was just hollow and wrecked…like the others, having lost everything.
It’s no less than they all deserve, but he didn’t go along with much of what Ragon dictated. Unfortunately he did go along with enough to marr his relationship with Vee, and ultimately, his entire pack.
Rhys is just my favorite. End of story.
Jasper was in an impossible situation. I feel for him too. He did what he could, thinking it was the best thing at the time, while not actually taking any real action and providing help he was supposed to while there. He also hurt himself and his pack. And it’s really sad.
And then Vee. She’s a really great character and we see such a raw and honest arc over her story. She is so lost and damaged initially. In the first book we watch her fold in on herself to exist in the container her pack built and condensed for her. She disappeared into nothing and hollowness. Her whole existence shrunk down and hollowed out due to her situation. I honestly had tears in my eyes for many parts in the first book.
This book, is all about her healing. Recognizing that what she went through was abuse and discovering who she was once she went through and came out of it.
It was hard to read in some places, but I enjoyed it because of how well written she was, her mental health journey, her rawness and her flaws.
It all happened one cut at a time. No one bled out immediately. It happened over a long period of time, death by a thousand cuts as it were.
It was a fascinating and tragic example of what happens when good people do nothing. When insecure and incompetent people are placed in positions of power of over others.

He does it all wrong, and fucks up around every corner. But you can appreciate that in his mind, he is trying to manage everyone, lead everyone and keep everyone in a neat compartment that ensures stability of the pack.
He doesn’t get it right.
He ends up destroying everyone and everything that he cares about. And at the end, you feel a deep compassion for him despite his long list of failures.
Drake? Well, he faces bond break-sickness because he wises up and leaves Ragon. But it’s too little too late.
The fact that Vee still chooses to care for him when he is vulnerable speaks to her as an omega and person.
Eli is complicated, as they all are. But his betrayal of Vee, in my opinion, cut deeper. He was her safe space. Until he wasn’t. It felt right that he stayed to help her with Jasper. I felt for him deeply. He was just hollow and wrecked…like the others, having lost everything.
It’s no less than they all deserve, but he didn’t go along with much of what Ragon dictated. Unfortunately he did go along with enough to marr his relationship with Vee, and ultimately, his entire pack.
Rhys is just my favorite. End of story.
Jasper was in an impossible situation. I feel for him too. He did what he could, thinking it was the best thing at the time, while not actually taking any real action and providing help he was supposed to while there. He also hurt himself and his pack. And it’s really sad.
And then Vee. She’s a really great character and we see such a raw and honest arc over her story. She is so lost and damaged initially. In the first book we watch her fold in on herself to exist in the container her pack built and condensed for her. She disappeared into nothing and hollowness. Her whole existence shrunk down and hollowed out due to her situation. I honestly had tears in my eyes for many parts in the first book.
This book, is all about her healing. Recognizing that what she went through was abuse and discovering who she was once she went through and came out of it.
It was hard to read in some places, but I enjoyed it because of how well written she was, her mental health journey, her rawness and her flaws.
It all happened one cut at a time. No one bled out immediately. It happened over a long period of time, death by a thousand cuts as it were.
It was a fascinating and tragic example of what happens when good people do nothing. When insecure and incompetent people are placed in positions of power of over others.

There was a pretty good grovel and it was great to see the guys POVs. One amazing thing the author did was show us how the h worked on bouncing back after her shutdown. Normally, we see the shutdown, hero(s) upset or frustrated , something happens and they’re back - angry, or happy, or something. The author showed us that she needed to work through her feelings and it wasn’t something that would happen in a day or two.
However, like some people said, it kinda felt anticlimactic.
This is definitely a me thing, because I felt like something was missing.
Normally I’m fan of the h returning to the original guy(s) because of the groveling and redemption - this wasn’t happening here, but it was great the seeing the original pack grovel for her sake. One of the main reasons I prefer this is because I hate feeling bad for the characters that messed up. And here we see their remorse, loss, guilt, and determination to fix it how they can. In the end they still had feelings for her and they fade away, and I want some closure here. I need a straight up villain that we hate till or redemption and a HEA with the h.
Also not a fan of introducing a new character, really liked him but we didn’t get to know him like that others.
I also don’t get how her original pack was able to do a 180 about their scent match and the h. Yea I get it that it was biology and they found out how the OW lied. But how was it one day they have no control and then they were suddenly able to overcome it?
It looks like the OW will be getting her own book, idk if it’s going to be with pack that helped the h (author said they will be returning in future books) or with her old pack/ scent match. I really hope she doesn’t get a story with them, too much happened there for anyone to enjoy it. I also hope that we find out what happens to her former pack and hopefully full redemption and a HEA.

Really enjoyed this angsty duet.
I really enjoyed this duet! This one wasn’t quite as good as the first book, but I still loved reading it. This could have been a five star except for a few things, I didn’t enjoy getting past scenes here. Some of them were at times I just didn’t want to se her with the other pack and it felt unnecessary. I also could have used a little more alpha in the alphas. I get they want her to have a choice but she could have had that and they still could have been more. I also wish we had a bit more of the se yak chemistry/pull here. We got a lot of it in the first book, and since as these guys were her scent match I really just wanted more here. I also thought the twist at the end with the scent match didn’t work so well for me. I get what the author was trying to do but I just didn’t want or need that. But overall was a great duet!

Very weird, book one was an emotional sucker punch and I loved it. This book just fell totally flat. Everyone was just forgiven? After everything? Also the writing was nowhere near as good as the first book, it felt like a different author. No real consequences for all the dreadful things they put her through, just a I forgive you and I hope you find happiness someday? What the hell? Should have at least let Rhys get one punch in on Ragon. Disappointing after the emotional feels of the first book.

Vee suffered astronomically in book 1. She went though heartbreak. Through rejection. Through fear. But with this book, she prospered. Even when she withered. Even when she dimmed. She found a way to love again. Found away to trust again. Found a way to live again.
Alex, Rhys, Malcolm and Finn found a way to keep their omega. Love and cherish her. Not because they were her scent mates. Not because of biology. But because they wanted her... for her.
