Must Read

Those of us in the life insurance business have a challenge in our daily lives, Joe Jordan's style of story telling remind us of the important service we provide for our community. Reading _A Life of Significance made me fall in love again with our industry. What we offer is of much greater value than any commodity sales. We protect dignity and freedom and help help our clients leave a legacy.

A good book to reset he business compass at the beginning of the year. I had the privilege of hearing Mr. Jordan speak a few years back. I believe he is an example of a man who had an principled approach to the insurance business and his book reminds us of one of our primary roles we assume in this business.

I had received this book as a gift but didn’t make time to read it. Then I heard Joe Jordan speak on a webinar and enjoyed his talk and decided “I’m going to read that book.”

A year went by and I was going to hear Joe Jordan speak in person and meet him. So I brought to book with me to DC and read about 3/4 on the plane. Met Joe, heard him speak again and then picked up the book again today and finished.

Easy read. Many great stories that pack alot of emotional punch for financial advisors like me who battle doubt on the best way to serve and how much to push clients to do things we know they need to do but we know they are busy or have other priorities. But we don’t know the future and putting off financial decisions like buying insurance is always difficult and sometimes perilous to survivors. This is a great book for reminding us of the good we do even when people don’t think they need our help. We have to push through that without being pushy.

Lots of great tear-jerker stories to get your head right and your heart right.

A quick read confirming an occupation of value. It addresses the positive 'why' many agents do the good work that they do. It also outlines the many faces those decisions impact.

This book was written mostly for people in the financial services industry, specifically those who sell life insurance products. I found out about Joseph Jordan through AIG, he's a speaker at an upcoming seminar I'll be attending. It's certainly a worthwhile read for people in the insurance industry.

The gist of the book is that if you focus on doing what's right and realize the impact you can and will have on not only the lives of your clients, but future generations as well, you can infuse your business with an intent that will drive your daily behavior accordingly. It's certainly been how I've run my business since day one, but Joseph lays out some pretty compelling illustrations on why cutting corners when discussing tough issues with clients can come back to hurt not just the client, but you as the producer too.

Easy read, short book, well written, I'm looking forward to hearing him speak later this month :)

Full of life changing advice - recommended

This book is very good. The author's perspective is fresh and engages both the rational mind and one's subjective intuition. The last half of the book is truly stellar and full of life changing advice that only a seasoned professional could share. Recommended.
