Dakota Livingston’s whole world has been turned upside down…
After realizing she’s the sole survivor of a plane crash—the plane that was to take her to her injured father—her will to live is put to the test as she floats out at sea for days with no water or food.
Ready to give up, she’s rescued by some fisherman from a nearby island. Waking up, not knowing where she is and with no communication with the outside world, Dakota befriends a 12 year old native boy who has secrets hauntingly similar to her own.
As their friendship grows it becomes clear just how similar their lives are.
In a race against time, with recovery underway, Dakota is desperate to save Daniel from his own demons and return to the love of her life who has given her up for dead.
Can one woman’s sheer grit and determination overcome all odds?

This book is kinda stupid, almost everything the main characters do makes no sense & every time a background character does/says something realistic the ditzy Dakota seems really surprised. I got books 2 & 3 for free through an E-Book giveaway so I will try reading the next one soon but I don't have high hopes
Dakota Livingston’s whole world was turned upside down… shaken...stolen....She was mentally and physically tortured by her ex husband. I know its sad that I love darkness, but when the abuse starts, I read like a ferocious madwoman.
She is on the plane going to her sick father. The father that was brutally beaten by her ex husband. Right now this is every inch my perfect read! I am enthralled by her ability to survive. Does she? YES
She is rescued and I felt so hopeful. She meets Daniel and he is a young boy who gives her hope. There is a family that takes her in but they are so disturbed.
Was she ready to give up? NO she has this strength. The author created the most resilient woman. I would have buried my head in the sand and cried until I died, but not Dakota. Daniel and Dakota have a few incidents that create how they are molded into these characters. Dakota needs saving and so does Daniel. She is even more determined to save him. She puts Daniel ahead of her own safety. The events here create a bond that nobody will ever break.
This was another amazing book in a series. Seriously you gotta grab it.
