Éclair Case of Murder

Rate this book
After the last murder, Rosie thought that life in the beach-side town of San Coronado would be a piece of cake. Especially now that she, Nana and Birdie have started their own bakery. But when a wealthy socialite is found dead, everyone is convinced it's suicide and only Rosie suspects otherwise. Now the question is...will she live long enough to prove it?

While I am enjoying this series so far both books 1 and 2 need a good read through for errors. Words missing, wrong names used etc. Not enough to keep me from wanting to continue to read the books to come but enough to make it a 3 star read vs. a 4 star read.

Made me want to get a pastry and settle in

Fun mystery. Cute characters. Left me guessing for most of the book. A little predictable towards the end. Looking forward to another Rosie mystery.

It was completely unbelievable that everyone (including the national news) would say it was the crisis call center employees fault for not saving the caller. Saying that they killed her!

Best gezellig boek.

Horrid. Simply horrid. Poor follow-up to a rather dreadful series start. There were some twists and turns in the story, but few of them made sense so it was all a wash. Poor characterization on all fronts, and a serious lack of sense. One point that isn't fleshed out was if this is the main character's business is/is in the same bakery/building from the previous novel. I have to assume it isn't, since that would explain several missing characters, and the speed with which the main character created this new business (two months), but it is not explained at all, besides giving the new name of the bakery.

Also, one does NOT use numbered lists in a NOVEL! One might say "Well, first we did this." But never "1) The sprocket was in the gearbox." This is dialogue and exposition, not stereo instructions! Oh, and one does not use numbered lists and then screw them up, so a number appears before a random word! Sweet Raptor Jesus! So unprofessional.

Well, there's one book left in this box set. Will things get better for this poor reader? Find out in my review for "Haunt Flashes" ... same Bat-Time, same Bat-Channel.

No where near as enjoyable as the first.

Since I don't normally write reviews unless I have something specific to say, here's the break down of how I rate my books...

1 star... This book was bad, so bad I may have given up and skipped to the end. I will avoid this author like the plague in the future.

2 stars... This book was not very good, and I won't be reading any more from the author.

3 stars... This book was ok, but I won't go out of my way to read more, But if I find another book by the author for under a dollar I'd pick it up.

4 stars... I really enjoyed this book and will definitely be on the look out to pick up more from the series/author.

5 stars... I loved this book! It has earned a permanent home in my collection and I'll be picking up the rest of the series and other books from the author ASAP.

Second in a double ebook offering of Rosie Kale's mystery series. The author certainly knows cats; Cupcake's early morning tail encounter was familiar. Rosie gets involved in another mystery, meets her boyfriend's father, bakes away with her Nana, and gets in serious trouble with the law. Her annoying cousin strains Rosie's nice and sweet demeanor; she really needs to step up and say something. Similar to first book with cozy murder and a bit of romance. Short & light read.

I enjoyed this one as well. The books in this series always seem to have an unexpected ending, but otherwise, they are really a good read, and easy on the brain. Just what I've needed the past few days as I am coming off a mild concussion and hate not being able to read! Great book, nice and lighthearted.

Not as good as the first book

This is not as good as the first book. I don't enjoy books when people let relatives take advantage of them instead of telling them to get lost. Other than that the story was interesting and easy to read. I will read the next book.

A great read. These cozy mysteries are more and more awesome. I've nearly read the whole series. I am gaining weight just reading them what with all the cupcakes, eclairs, and other awesome caloric foods. But the mysteries are well worth the read!
