If you're a fan of insta-love, then this is the book for you...
In that one moment, all that was clear to Ryan was that he had met the woman he was going to marry, and that life would never be the same again.

This takes insta-love to the extreme. Ryan and Ana have had one conversation and it was practically the shortest conversation ever.

Ana kind of got my nerves. She said early in the book that if she hadn't ended up in this predicament then she most likely wouldn't have come to her sister's wedding.
Besides, she'd be too busy with her maid-of-honor duties to even notice him.

Even though she wasn't going to be at her sister's wedding and she comes home two days before and steps into the MOH position. The biggest question I have is who was the maid of honor before and who does she feel about being replaced?!

Would Ana and Molly really care that he was some big-shot billionaire CEO?

Is this a serious question? Like for real?

"I'm going to get married."
"What?" The disbelief melted into joy. "Congratulations. This is rather sudden."
"It is."
"How long have you known her?"
"A few days."
...
"So you're bringing her back here?" Matt asked.
"If she accepts." Ryan's grin grew even broader.
"If she accepts? What, you haven't proposed yet?"
"No. She doesn't even know I want to marry yet."

Do I even need to say anything with this? He's crazy. She's crazy. I guess they're perfect together...

"Do you have any kids, Ryan?"
The question seemed to catch him off guard. He looked up at her. "No."
"Do you want kids someday?" Her hand moved under the table to rub her stomach.
"I'd love to have kids of my own someday, or to take on someone else's."

Yikes.

Can I just point out that all of these things have happened in the book and I'm not even passed 30%?!
I have highlighted a lot more to support how crazy this book is... But I don't have the time or patience to put it all in...
And the majority of the book is just a month long span of time. It wasn't until about 93 or 94% when "Days turned to weeks and weeks to months." What a headache.
The story had potential it was just too fast. WAY too fast.

I borrowed Back to the Heart from the Kindle Unlimited program.

Ana White returns home to her family ranch in Texas after being fired by her boss that made her pregnant. He also told all the places she applied for a job that she was a bad, lazy employee so she is broke and heading home after five years of working to find her dream job with her dreams crushed.

Ryan Black is living in the barn, helping her mom and sister with chores and fixing things that have been let go since the death of her father two years ago. One look between Ryan and Ana sets of an attraction with instant chemistry.

Ryan is hiding his true identity including dying his hair blonde, so with Ana being emotionally fragile they have honesty problems. A business trip back East, a plane crash, serious injuries, threats by the father of the baby, a near miss in a car crash and Back to the Heart is full of problems for Ryan to overcome to win Ana.

I loved the family connections and support. I loved the way the characters matured and figured out what was important in life and the happy ending.

I found this little gem on KindleScout and was thrilled when it was one of the books selected. The setting is in Texas and the h, Ana White, is a loveable character. She believes herself lucky when her boss takes a shine to her. He woos her and is all that is charming that is until she tells him she is pregnant. He not only lets her go but sees to it no one else will hire her. She finds herself back home in Bandera, Texas on the same ranch she grew up on. Her father now passed it is just her and her mother as her sister Celia is getting married. But they are not alone, her mother tells her of the handyman she's taken on to help fix things around the ranch.

Ryan Black is the perfect man to fix more than just the ranch. I liked the fact that there was no doubt in his mind that once he met and spoke with Ana he knew she was the woman for him. Now while she is scared and lost he is her guiding light out of the darkness. I loved the relationship between the two and even when he discovers she is pregnant he doesn't even flinch. He knew she was the one and let nothing shake his determination to obtain her. So gentle, protective and understanding, fighting his own urges to prove to her that she could trust him. There is only one problem. He is hiding a secret and it is not until 3 quarters of the book that Ana learns what it is.

I would have liked to see him tell her himself but than it would have ruined other things that took place later so it all worked out for me. The other issue I noticed was the first part of the book had issues with quotation marks. It would be just the ending quotation marks instead of the beginning and ending ones. You will not have any problem determining who is saying what but it is still worth mentioning because it was a bit distracting. The writing and spelling is great no problem there. There are love scenes one I'd like to label as, " Skype loving. " I really found the overall feel of the book gentle and romantic.

Back to the Heart
By: Sky Corgan
Narrated by: Alyssa Rogge

I needed a feel good, small town story, and Sky Corgan delivered! Anna White left home to fill her big dreams and ended up jobless and pregnant. Now back home, she finds Ryan, a stranger living in her family barn helping out around the ranch. Ryan is hiding from real life. Enjoying being away from the fast lane, he is working with his hands, eating homemade meals and now has found the one person he knows he will marry. But there are secrets looming, and circumstances that neither Anna or Ryan see coming. What will become of this couple? Will they find their happily ever after? This book touched my heart. Anna is a tough cookie, enduring the malevolence of her previous boss and now finding her new normal. Ryan is true to his heart. He knows what happiness should be and when he finds it, grabs on with both hands. Both families are loving and endearing. Loved Ryan's brother, and the emotions he went through were heart wrenching! It's a great listen, one that will stick with you and make you want to visit again.

Alyssa Rogge is a new narrator to me, and she is fantastic. Easily voices both male and female, her choices of tones and personalities fit the character and made them pop! I fell for these characters, so I know she found their essence and she kept me interested and gave me a wonderful listen.

Ryan’s had it with the hand life’s dealt him, so he’s taking a break from it ALL! Embracing a new persona, he’s been playing ranch hand, living the simple life, and loving it till it’s time to pay the piper! After putting her faith in the wrong man costs her everything, Ana heads to her family’s ranch to try and put the pieces of her life back together, determined to never make a mistake like THAT again! Fate just might other plans for these two because when they meet, sparks fly, time seems to stand still, and their temperatures rise! Angsty, romantic, heartbreaking, heated and healing, “Back to the Heart” has it ALL! No spoilers! I don’t want to ruin the experience for anyone, but I will tell you that I laughed AND cried my way though this beautifully written, brilliantly narrated, EMOTIONAL roller coaster of a story! I could not stop listening! I loved it! Even as my heart was in my throat, I loved it! Five fabulous stars!

Anna White left her home in Texas for her dream job. She never got her promotion, her boss seduced her, got her pregnant and then fired her. With no where else to go, she returned home to her ranch in Texas..
Ryan is there at the ranch to help with chores working only for food and a place to stay.
Anna was wary of him and all men. She doesn't want any relationship.after she was dumped.
Ryan is hiding from his fast paced life. He's hiding secrets, keeping his real name anonymous.
when he meets. Anna, he was quickly enamored with her. He fell in love with her directness, sweetness and naivety
Alyssa Rogge is a new narrator to me, she told the story with emotions and gave each character their own voice an personality. I thoroughly enjoyed.listened to this story.

Back to the Heart was a great read by Sky Corgan. Ana was seduced by her boss, fired from her job and found out that she was pregnant. Ryan Black is an a-lister who has spent the last six months pretending to be someone else and laboring on Ana's late father's ranch. Okay, this story was SUPER cute. I did kind of find it a bit weird that Ryan "fell in love" so quickly with Ana, but he seriously treated her like Royalty. I will say, I'm giving 4 stars because of the insane shocking twist to the story almost at the end and I just couldn't handle it. I truly believed Sky Corgan was going to let Brennan die... I was not expecting anything!!!! But it was a cute, short, love story.

There's definite chemistry between Ana and Ryan, right from the very beginning. However, the writing and plot feels a bit cliched. A good part of the story is the sexual tension between the two. Of course, this is great news for some readers. Closer to the end of the book, there was a bit more "story" to the book. It would have been nice to build on the relationship a little more. But, still, romance lovers will probably enjoy the book.

A good book to read.

It was different from other books that I read. Ada had a rough time in New York and went back home to get her life back together. Only to find a stranger living on the ranch with her mother and sister. Though through tragedy she finally found happiness.
Would recommend this book, its a good read and hard to put down once you start.

HEA

I liked the book, the writing was solid. The story lacked dramatic tension. No surprises or plot twists. Even when the main dramatic event happens (trying not to give spoilers) you don’t really feel like it won’t work out okay. Sweet story, but nothing unique or amazing about it.

Not what I expected

This book should have been listed under erotica not romance. Very graphic sex with a very weak and unbelievable story line. The plot was very secondary to the sex.

Audiobook Review

This was my first Sky Corgan book and I can’t say I was disappointed. This book is sweet with an insta love connection between the two main characters.

Alyssa Rogge was also a new to me narrator. She was amazing narrating this story.

Perfect ending

Like a fairytale, love at first sight brought ‘Ryan’ closer to Ana. Though she objected at first. A near tragedy sped things up for them. Super!

This book is so good.

I love how much Ryan/Brennan and Ana fit together. You wouldn't think that they would work out as well as they do as quickly as it happens. But they just do. 💖
