I’ve spent eight months fighting my attraction to my boyfriend’s father, Boone, but when my boyfriend leaves me on the side of the road, all bets are off.
Especially when Boone rescues me, takes me back to the ranch, and shows me exactly what it means to fall apart.
And then he gives me a fantasy—two weeks with him and the three sons who live at the ranch.
A way to completely and utterly fall apart as they give me every filthy, tender thing I’ve been too starved to ask for.
Fourteen days of pure bliss.
We haven’t even truly started, and I don’t want it to end.
Rope Me Down is an 18+ MMMMM Romance with all the focus on Ash while his ex’s three brothers and their father take him apart like he’s a prize to be won. HEA
African American. Indie Author. Chaos Writer. Polyamorous & Found Family Stories Brought to Life. From PRN to fantasy, contemporary to dark & twisted, there's a little something for everyone.
I'm a fan of possessive, protective poly stories, but unfortunately this one didn't work for me at all.
There's no tension, no build up, no real angst or depth. Within two seconds of Ash being picked up by his boyfriend's dad, they sleep together with zero chemistry or buildup. Then out of nowhere, he's told he's being "shared" with the whole household and needs to pick a safe word. It makes no sense.
The dialogue is random. They randomly bring up major topics out of thin air with nothing leading into those conversations. It constantly pulled me out of the story.
This whole book just felt silly. There's no real reason behind the dynamics, no plot to speak of. Honestly, I should have DNF'd this one.
This was exciting and hot, until it became predictable and too easy and chasing-your-tail all over again. No tension at all after the very first two or three chapters and that was kind of disappointing. They all instantly wanted each other and the hot scenes filled every chapter. I thought there would be much more angst and inner turmoil between Ash and Boone and his sons. But everything kind of wrapped around the idea of him being their sub and them screwing him a lot and taking care of that fragile side. No deep inner thoughts, nothing to make me actually go insane about it.
Ash didn’t question a lot of things, he just gave in and please, he was interrupted every single time he wanted to say something!!! God, how much I disliked that.
I’m giving it 3 stars because the plot had potential, the starter got me excited, but unfortunately it lost me on the way, sadly ;-;
Meh. Maybe my hopes were too high but this was kinda boring for me.
Ash was basically a fleshlight for 4 related men. 1 dad. 3 brothers. And his ex was the 4th brother. SO he basically f-ed the whole family. Well technically they f-ed him since he never tops which is a shame.
The subspace part was quite bizarre as well. I couldn’t get past how inane it was.
Side note: if there’s DP there is incest. Just be honest about it in the TWs. I know the Zon doesn’t like it but there’s always Smashwords 😬
I’m not sure how Ash’s -sshole can take this dynamic long term. And I do not really care to find out. This is basically porn with no plot and very shallow character development. Like I said meh 🫤
Oh what a story 🤩 I love a good why choose — but MMMMM? Yes, please, I am absolutely here for it 😤🩷 And when it is written by N. Slater, whose style I adore? There was never any question. I had to read this one 😏✨ This is the story of Ash — aka Dove, Sunshine, Trouble, or just gorgeous — and the father and brothers of his ex-boyfriend 👀😮💨 I felt so sorry for Ash more times than I can count, and honestly? I had that in common with the brothers. How could one person be so toxic and treat someone so precious like that 🤐💀
But I will say no more 🤐
What I will say is that the dynamic within this family is so easy and natural — watching these four start to care for Ash so effortlessly had me swooning from beginning to end 🥺🩷 There is something so beautiful about the way they just... claimed him. Softly. Fiercely. Without even trying. And then combine all of that with a generous amount of spice 🔥 Nic had me squirming more than once and I am not even a little embarrassed about it 😏😮💨
Go read this if you love stories that will break your heart a little before putting it back together, chosen family that means every word, and spice that will absolutely ruin you 🔥🤩

This book wants to be found family and possessive but there is no build up and no chemistry between any of the characters. We spend one chapter doing choppy dialogue backstory before they’re getting freaky and suddenly everyone in the house wants our MMC? Like where did it come from? Why do all these men like him? There is no tension, no angst, why tf am I even reading this.
I knew going into it, that it was a “family sharing dynamic” but I genuinely could not get past one of the brothers saying “The sounds he was making for my father last night”. It just feels way too incestuous.
Also saw another review that said “all this gay sex and no one gets their ass ate” so why would I even bother to continue
4.75 stars. The dad was alright, the brothers were fire, and Ash was an adorable puppy who just needed to be loved. Oh and the filthy smut was on point too. MMMMM was a lot at first, for me, but I eventually caught onto the flow.
This was my very first all male why choose (MMMMM) and it was everything I could ask for and more. The conversations regarding consent and safety were perfect, especially because they didn’t just happen once but continuously through the whole book. This should have been incredibly taboo due to being a dad (ex-boyfriend’s dad at that) and 3 brothers, but it felt incredibly right and natural the whole time.
Boyfriend leaves you on country road after an argument, so OF COURSE you’re gonna sleep with his dad and three brothers. A totally logical series of events. This book was amazing.
Honestly - this shouldn’t work but it does. You understand why Ash is THE ONE who’s different. How his past trauma led him to this situation. The Dad/3 brothers felt like distinct characters and they each have their own nicknames for Ash/sex styles.
I love a “you’re taking me so well…” moment. That happens a lot in this book. This was basically mostly sex with honestly a stunning portrayal of how prolonged emotional abuse affects the psyche and your view of self/other relationships. The sex didn’t especially feel repetitive, they were doing different things in different combos each time.
Listen - the whole thing takes place over 10 days, but the relationship progression I totally bought. There was nothing I was like COME ON, at.
I appreciated you got answers to the questions I had from the jump: 1. What happened with the mom 2. What Marcus’ (ex-boyfriend) deal was 3. How the “sharing” started - it makes sense…. 🙂😉😜
Definitely read the trigger warnings - they’re blood family, but they don’t touch each other just Ash. 😱
I bought this on a whim at Love & Romance Toronto and i will definitely be reading other N. Slater books (I will just study the trigger warnings first).
Ok. After seeing this recommended over and over in various groups, I decided to give it a try.
I didn’t hate it, and I didn’t love it. It had so much potential, but there were times it was clear to me that this was an idea that spawned in the author’s head, written into a book, and released without any polishing. It needs a good once-over with an editor and a proofreader, and it needs more substance. It’s an erotic story, we get that. But we’re basically told, not shown, that all 5 men have always been attracted to each other. There’s no buildup, there’s no history or backstory other than Ash had been going to the ranch for 2 years.
What really bothered me, and I don’t know if this was intentional or not, but other than a couple of details I had no idea what any of these men looked like. Ash was 26, but how old was everyone else? I used my imagination a lot to fill in the gaps, which I don’t mind, but a little more than Ash having dark curly hair and Teague being a blonde would’ve been nice.
I think if this had a little more revision and polishing it would be a damn near perfect read. I’m giving it 4 stars because I really did love the premise, and the characters, but it just needed more than what we were given.
After being stuck in a reading slump, this was exactly the book I needed to pull me out of it.
Going into this, I expected a lot of spice, and it definitely delivered on that front. This is an MMMMM romance (one MC and four love interests), so if that’s your thing, you’re in for a good time. But what surprised me most was how much I ended up caring about Ash and his journey.
Ash is coming out of an emotionally and psychologically abusive relationship, and watching him slowly learn what it means to feel safe, valued, and genuinely loved was incredibly rewarding. The relationship setup is definitely taboo - he ends up with his ex-boyfriend’s dad and three brothers - but the emotional support, acceptance, and healing he finds with them really became the heart of the story for me.
Yes, there’s a lot of smut. A lot. But underneath all of that is a story about recovery, found family, and rediscovering your self-worth after abuse. I found myself rooting for Ash the entire time.
The spice was fun, but it was Ash’s growth and healing that made this such a memorable read for me.
A great book to break my reading slump, and one I’ll definitely remember. ❤️📚✨
This book had me hooked from the start. I was so invested in the story. Ash was in a traumatizing relationship for two years before being rescued. He stays at his rescuers’ ranch where three of his sons also live, and the five of them finally give in to what they want. Spice was a main theme of the book, but there was also emotion and love. I adored the cute moments, the comfort, the cuddling, the kissing, the healing; it was sweet yet passionate. The taboo aspect definitely had me kicking my feet and giggling at times, honestly. I highly recommend it; the vibes were fantastic!

I saw this recommended in an MM fb group and wanted to see how filthy it was - It sure sounded it.
It takes a while to settle into its rhythm at first. Ash hasn’t been treated the best in his past relationships- he’s currently with the deadbeat son of Boone, brother of Teague, Ledger and Cass. And they see his worth and like to share, offering him a two week stay after the break up.
Ash comes across as delicate and pure, regardless of what he gets up to. The father and sons contingent is smooth, protective and gentle with Ash. There’s more than just the physical here, even if it’s a little clumsy in the execution at times. I didn’t find it all that smutty, at least not dirty, filthy smut. Maybe that’s due to my reading history - this tends to be similar sorts of s3x scenes on repeat - but there is a lot of it.
A good resolution for all involved. I liked how the four men treat Ash and how he gets the HEA he deserves.
I want to find this a redeeming quality but alas, I can’t. This felt yucky on so many levels While I do enjoy MM, polyamory etc, there’s something odd with it being blood related. There’s a few done well like Sadie Kincaid series. In this book, you have a lot of group scenes where the brothers and father share at the same time and it felt a lot incestious. Why would Cass be turned on by hearing his boo having sex with his dad ?
Ash needed to grow a backbone. He was living in an appartement for 2 years with a guy, was left stranded on a dark road, waited for 6 hours because he said he didn’t know the way. I call bulshit. You’re a grown man, make a call, walk there, find a way. He even had cellphone batterie. He could have just google map the way …
What really turn me off was the instant subspace blackout after sex. EVERYTIME for more than half the book. Should have DNF After the 50% mark, I skipped most of the smut. No chemistry..
When Ash is left by his (ex) boyfriend on the side of the road, he’s rescued by his ex’s father and brought back to the ranch. Old feelings return when Ash sees Boone again. He quickly learns that Boone and his three other sons have an interesting relationship with the men they bring to the ranch. The four of them like to share. 🥵🥵
Boone, Teague, Ledger, and Cass want Ash to be theirs for 2 weeks. In the first few days, they learn a lot about how Marcus (Ash’s ex) treated him. The more they learn, the more angry they get. The men each get their time with Ash.
While they do have Ash pick a safe word, this book is more BDSM lite.
-reverse harem - primal play - bondage - DP -TP -plugging - four tops, one bottom
While the men share Ash, they don’t play with each other (there is no ‘cest).
This story completely pulled me in from beginning to end. N. Slater has an incredible talent for creating characters you instantly connect with and emotionally invest in. I was hooked watching everything unfold and constantly needed to know what would happen next. The emotional depth, chemistry, and overall story engagement were absolutely phenomenal. Every chapter kept me wanting more, and by the end I was already craving the next book. An unforgettable read that exceeded my expectation. #slatersbookishteam #RopeMeDown #NSlater #MMRomance #WhyChooseRomance #DarkRomance #AgeGapRomance #DomSub #Subspace #ChaseScene #ReverseHarem #SpicyReads #BookReview #KindleUnlimited #RomanceReader #QueerRomance #BookTok #Bookstagram #ReadingCommunity #MustReadRomance #NewRelease
3.5 ⭐️ ‘Goldilocks and his 5 bears’ should be the title.😉 Where Goldie is the toy the bears want to consume and their love language is fukking.
This rode a VERY tight line of cest and while some might say no, I personally think it was between certain scenes and some of the language spoken. Then add the dad and how he spoke of his kids and yeah.. they are just way too interconnected with one another.
The story was hot.. no doubt. It was cover to cover sxx. But it was also a shit ton of unbelievable. Just one scene to mention, a bunch of cowboys at a rodeo kissing and touching the same man in public and no one say anything, all while they do business with said people. They get no talk? Wouldn’t happen. I wish… but nope.
Overall it was enjoyable but I won’t be rereading cause it just is too over the top in a few ways.
I had such a fun time! Ash and Marcus were dating for a few years and met his family. Father, Boone and 3 brothers (yes, 3 brothers!) Cas, Ledger, and Teague. Ash was being treated So badly by Marcus! But Boone was done with that behavior toward someone so sweet and kind. I can’t believe Marcus left Ash on the side of the road for hours and acted like it was no big deal! Bastard! Then was upset when Ash was also over it! I mean if Marcus wasn’t gonna treat him right. Boone and his other sons will. 😏 These men thought Ash he different have to hide or make himself small. He was amazing as he is! 🤭 That phone call! I laughed SO hard. N.Slater knows how to write poly relationships!!! I loved it!
Be warned, this is erotica, not romance! That is to say, there is quite a lot about it that I personally found romantic but if you're particular about your take on romance meeting a long list of rules, this may well not work for you. Personally, I found it a lot of fun, for my first experience of reading a novel featuring a MMMMM "erotic romance" (which is how the author describes it). If you're reading it for fun, as a fantasy, you'll be fine, would be my best guess. In future, I wouldn't cross the road to avoid other output by this writer, because I was entertained! Sometimes that's what I want. My reading life cannot all be worthy biographies and historical fiction or edifying non-fiction to broaden my mind, so sue me! Enjoy.
What a deliciously filthy treat this was. There is nothing sexier than a down hideous man who knows who and want he wants...and Asher got FOUR of them...in the same family. Lucky little princess.
As usual in books with multi-love interests, I have a favorite: Cassian. Baby, the man you are. Then Ledger (oooh, baby, the man you ARE!), then Teague (sexy little goofball). Boone (the dad) was fine, but THOSE SONS! Delicious.
I loved everything about this fantastic story. When Ash is abandoned by his boyfriend, and Boone (the boyfriend’s father) swoops in to the rescue, it literally becomes a filthy fairytale in the best way. Boone and his sons are the perfect men to piece the jagged, neglected pieces of Ash back together and make him feel safe once again. They see all the trauma he thinks he’s been hiding, and they don’t shy away from it, but they let him know that they aren’t his abuser, letting him take up space and thrive again. This was a really great read, offering a HEA guaranteed to put a smile on your face, no notes.
My guy here bagged his abusive ex's father AND brothers. Love that for him.
But seriously, this was a surprisingly emotional story. Because of how much Ash's relationship traumatized him, it was hard for him to be unapologetically himself. He was so used to curbing his own wants to please his asshole ex that his self-esteem was obliterated. He couldn't even exist in his home at peace without being criticized for it.
Boone, Ledger, Cass, and Teague helped him learn to listen to himself and do whatever he wants. It was gradual, and I loved how they never pushed. They just waited for him to make his own choices.
Loved this ranch RH romance. Ash has been rescued from his toxic ex, and finally gets the love, attention and care he deserves from his exes dad and 3 brothers. He gets 2 weeks at their ranch, to experience everything he's been missing and to break away from the conditioning of his ex. This is a spicy and taboo romance with 4 men sharing Ash. They explore power dynamics, lots of kinks, and let Ash heal and thrive. I loved the multi pov and seeing how much they all adore Ash, and seeing his growth and self discovery.
The spice was okay, bordering on weird a couple of times. 3 brothers and the Dad share one guy. Which I don't have an issue with but there wasn't any build up to it. The main character gets left on the side of the road, gets picked up by the dad, taken to a ranch and almost immediately falls into bed or has with them. There is some random talk about boundaries (barely), subspace and asking for what you want but it felt more just tossed in to make the whole situation less weird (consensual s3x rather than random hook ups)
Look... If you're not a fan of smut for smut's sake, alternative relationship dynamics, and limited plot, then this isn't the book for you. If you read the author's intro and pause, this isn't the book for you. But if you're open - especially to so much free use - then this is absolutely the book for you. Even though it was drenched in sex, it had a quiet feel about it. Nothing too angsty even though there was angst to be had. Will I remember this story in a week? No. Will I be checking out more from this author? Absolutely yes.
This book had me cackling from beginning to end at the ridiculousness. If you’re looking for extremely high heat (5/5 spice), low angst, with a story that will make you roll your eyes, then this is the book for you. Ash spends his days being f*cked into submission by his ex boyfriend’s Dad and his three sons. Consent abounds, so no worries if you’re not a fan of Dom/Sub relationships that don’t involve love and care. Not a 5 star read for me because the story itself is whatever… but this book really isn’t about the story, is it ;-)
3.5 stars rounded up because I am always delighted to be surprised by a book. I came in expecting ridiculous spice for the scintillation of it and instead got *emotions* and *unpacking* and *trauma care.* What! Wow!
Are the characters deep and fleshed out? Heck no. Is Ash more than a Gary Stu? Barely. But somehow Slater made me care about the fam anyway, and made the sex part of it but not the point of it, which is harder than you might think.
How many M's is that? WELL 5! Father (Boone) and 3 Sons (Teaque, Cass and Ledger) find the missing piece of the puzzle with Ash. Sweet baby Ash is doted on and spoiled through the entire book- Which yes, Is basically nothing but spice. I was totally in the mood for MM Cowboys and this was just perfect. All the sweetie vibes. No Taboo. I was highlighting like crazy!!! This book was so much fun,
