A Fashionably Freakier Friday: Book Twenty, Hot Damned Series

Rate this book
What happens when Mother Nature decides she’s had enough of her son and her granddaughter bickering? She Freakies the Friday right out of them.

My grandmother has orchestrated a psycho body swap. I’m in Uncle Satan’s body, and he’s in mine. According to Mother Nature, we have one week to respect each other or we’re stuck in this out-of-body Hell for eternity. Satan’s thinks being a Vampyre sucks, and I’m horrified that Demons have use the bathroom for more than showering and brushing their teeth. Yuck.

It gets worse.

Now, we’re in jolly old London with Martha, Jane, Lizard and a shady witch named Connie, for what I’ve been told is a redemption tour, but Satan has revenge on tap. Suddenly, our trip is more folly than jolly. There’s a Fairy Gang terrorizing London. Satan’s a big fat baby. Martha and Jane are handicapped by F-sized chesticles that keep tipping them over, and Lizard is the only voice of reason in our crew. Lizard! That’s how much trouble we’re in. The only bright spot is that Ethan is far away from this mess, dealing with Vampyre politics, and doesn’t have a front row seat to my humiliation.

If only. It’s never that easy when it comes to being The Chosen One. It turns out the Oklahoma Vamps are draining humans until they are dead. They’ve kidnapped Ethan and are threatening to unalive him unless I exchange my life for his. I’d do it in a heartbeat...if only I was still me.

Forget about respecting the Devil. I’ll have to learn to do more than trust my uncle if I want to save myself and the love of my undead life.

Could this Friday get any freakier if it tried? Hell to the no.

So much. So, so much

There are so many put downs and smack talking in this. Yes, that's par for the course (or is it core?), but it seemed different this time. The disses didn't land for me like they usually do. Maybe I just wasn't in the mood I usually am when consuming Peterman's books. The constant name calling was annoying this time. And the constant blathering and whining...ugh.

I did like the body switch idea though and I like that Astrid and Satan gained a different kind or respect for one another. It really would be easier to confront certain people if you were someone else. It's usually easier to stand up for someone else than for yourself.

This wasn't my favorite but all the other Peterman books have been and I still think she's brilliant and the most creative and imaginative woman eva!!

See you in my next book thoughts review.

Fashionably hilarious, as always

I love me an Astrid-centred book, especially when it’s also a Satan-centred book, and even more so when we meet fun new characters.

And let me tell you: you will love the new additions to the series’ extended chosen family of characters!

Having Astrid and Satan living their own Freaky Friday is wee-your-pants hilarious and introspective and full of action, and when the heroes are not always the ones we expect, it is the cherry on top of the fashionably funny.

Another slam dunk from Robyn Peterman!

Fang-tabulous!!

Book 20 😮😮😮😁😁😁😁

Astrid and the gang are BACK baby!!!!!!!!!!

This time she and Satan hit a tiny snafu, known as a hacked off Mother Nature 😲😲

Mother Nature has had ENOUGH of their bickering and blowing up, so She blasts them a spell. One that switches their bodies, but not their personalities.

She tells them, if, in a week, they don't get along they'll be stuck in their respective bodies, forever 😮😮

After they have a breakdown each, things start to go pair shaped, surprise 🙄

That's already including the double F's Martha and Jane suddenly start sporting 🤔🤔

I couldn't stop lmao at all the names Robyn finds for certain body parts 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

This is a totally fun, irreverent series. In this one, the devil and a vampire princess are freaky Friday'd by mother nature. A demon and two octogenarian vampires help them on their quest to switch back. This series needs to be read in order as there are multiple characters and the back stories and relationships are explained throughout the books. Also if you are easily offended or put off by creative cursing, this is not the series for you. I love these books as they provide light reading and comic relief between my usual murder books.

Excellent Read

I have missed Astrid and Satan. This was laughing on the floor hysterically funny. Gigi's punishment was sooo good. I normally laugh continuously through Ms. Peterman's book but this one was funnier than normal. The character development is top notch with continued development with the characters as they evolve and grow. Read the entire series so you understand the characters and their mannerisms. Best series!

A Great Fun Read

It is physically impossible to read this book and not wet yourself. How Robyn can come up with such endearing and hilarious characters is beyond me. Hats off to a funny, outstanding read.

Book Twenty in the Hot Damned series...

Was wonderful! The Freaky Friday trope was on point and were would Astrid be without Martha, Jane and Lizard. I would have enjoyed a little more of Gigi but it's ok. I'm hoping for more books in the Hot Damned series.

Hilariously wonderful

The gang is back. Silly, funny, and danger. A new powerful mysterious friend or foe? A loved one to save. A fantastic series. No cliffhanger and hea.
