Under the Moonlight
Bree West spontaneously moved to Montana after inheriting a house.
Jesse Parker doesn’t do spontaneous.
Bree is starting over. After a life of weird ex-boyfriends and a dead-end job, she packs up her things and moves to Montana on a whim after inheriting a house from a father who she never knew, ready for her new start. Miles away from what she has always known, she and her sister move to the quirky small town of Moonlight, Montana, ready to trade the hustle and bustle of Los Angeles for a town where everyone knows everyone.
Jesse has lived in Moonlight his entire life. As the town's vet, he only interacts with the town when a pet needs a check up. He enjoys the predictability and quietness of his small town life, and would like to keep it that way. That is until a certain blonde ball of energy and her sister move in next door and disrupt his carefully planned life.
As the town's matchmaker and event planner, Jesse’s mother, Sukie, recruits her son into helping her plan this summer's Ice Cream Social, and through some meddling siblings, Bree’s help as well. With the town’s mayor gallivanting across Europe, Sukie is left in charge of Moonlight, and Bree and Jesse are the towns only hope in having the annual social to raise money for Jesse’s veterinarian clinic.
A turbulent start between Jesse and Bree leaves tensions flying high as the unlikely pair gets to work on the Ice Cream Social. Having less than a month to get everything together, the two are forced to spend the summer together. And through apology quiches and late night diner talks, the two find out that maybe their differences are what is going to bring them together after all.
Filled with meddling characters, a quirky small town, and a mayor who is nowhere to be found; you are sure to find love within the limits of Moonlight, Montana.

I enjoyed reading this book so much! I found it to be a fun and easy read, perfect right before bed. The characters are well written, and each personality is clearly defined. The romance itself is very clean and wholesome, and the story follows at a pace I enjoy. I definitely want to read more books from this author!

LOVED this book so much!! I am drawn in by the characters of Laney's books. Bree is a strong woman who is determined to get what she deserves from life. Jesse is a work in progress and is so likable; his relationship with his niece is tender and heart-warming. I am entertained by the secondary characters and am impressed that this book could by read by young and old alike. The author touches on deep topics in a way that makes us all feel connected:)
