In the world of the shifter elite, a safe female is one without power. For me, that means hide or die.
When wraiths invade my neighborhood and shit goes sideways, becoming a Guardian might be the only way to earn myself—and my beast—protection.
The elite training program begins at the local shifter college, so I pack up my swords and my brother, and off to school I go.
It’s no surprise that Guardian training is sexist as hell. But I didn’t expect to be trapped inside the campus walls, battling magical simulations rather than joining the real forces as they wage war on the monsters outside.
For me, the stakes are higher than bragging rights and points on the leaderboard.
I won’t be distracted, especially not by the pull I feel to the most powerful quad of males in the program.
Heath Blackwell, the dominant Alpha wolf and quad leader;
Wyatt Gale, the cocky playboy bear shifter;
Aiden Blackwell, the uptight jaguar who’s also my professor;
And Elijah Harrow, the terrifying yet entrancing basilisk.
I’ll fight this infuriating attraction because I know the score. Powerful quads want a central bond, and that will never be my future.
Become a Guardian. Stay alive. Nothing else matters.
This is a paranormal romance set at a supernatural college in present-day USA. It is a “why choose” romance, which means our heroine will have multiple love interests and will get her happily ever after with ALL of them by the end of the series. This is book 1 of 3, and it will end in a cliffhanger. It is intended for listeners aged 18+ and contains foul language and spicy scenes. Detailed content warnings can be found in the Author’s Note. Happy listening!
I binged the e-book when it was released, and jumped at the chance to do a reread in audio! So glad that I did, as I once again binged the heck out of it. The story is addictive and the VOs did an excellent job bringing it to life.
Finally a viral book that held up to the hype. Loved it. Super strong but not annoying fmc. MMCs that were strong, alpha, but had a vulnerable side. Lots of action. Sexy scenes were appropriately placed. Loved the fmc family. The big “to do” that caused the MMCs to reject her was kind of stretching it. A simple conversation would have solved everything way too soon. I forget these characters are on the younger side, so that taken into consideration could explain the dumb-ass-ness. Narrators were very good—multicast dual narration. One of the male’s voices was almost a whisper though—I had to raise the volume during his parts. I did keep forgetting they were college kids—voices are definitely more mature. Excited to read on with the series.
Yes! This is the kinda pacing I eat up when you have a why choose shifter romance! I inhaled this. The tension, banter, and chemistry just added to it. I will say I’m gonna need good groveling after that ending but definitely need to add to your tbr if you like paranormal why choose shifter romance.
