Book 7 (RETRIBUTION) begins with Megan and Eleanor having been abducted by those who ravaged their beach-side community and subsequently charged off into the cover of darkness.
Mason and Brian are at odds over their next move and with the group divided; Randy makes the decision to head out into the city with or without help. We meet those who've taken the women and children and the gruesome lengths they are willing to go to... to get what they want.
Into the city our group faces not only the most challenging time since the beginning of the infection, but the loss of multiple friends. Our group of survivors will come to realize that the Feeders are not the worst thing about this new world.
Humans will prove to be just as much of a threat as the infected. The group will have to work together as they search for their missing family and for retribution from those still unknown.
Jeff Olah is the author and creator of the best-selling series The Dead Years, The Last Outbreak, and The Next World. He writes for all those readers who love good post-apocalyptic, supernatural horror, and dystopian/science fiction.
His thirst for detailed story lines and shocking plot twists has been fueled over the years by stories from Cormac McCarthy, Ray Bradbury, and Stephen King. He also has a difficult time tearing himself away from character driven dramas like The Walking Dead, Breaking Bad, and LOST.
Jeff is addicted to reading, writing, and lifting weights. He lives in Southern California with his wife, daughter, and ten-year-old Chihuahua.
The latest installment of The Dead Years continues with another bumpy ride for Mason and family. Jeff Olah has kept me entertained and guessing from the get-go and as usual I cannot wait to see what happens next.
Book 7 another one bites the dust....or should I say cement? Yes a bit of a double entendre in that I've finished the book and it's on to the next one but someone also does die and literally does bite the dust hitting the cement!
As you might imagine quite a few people trapped in a city fully of Zombies running around trying to escape them must run into, trip over, or fall off of, or jump into cement so you'll just have to read the book to find out what I mean.
I'm exhausted with all the things the group has been through and the highs and lows they have in this one. Hopefully everything wraps up in book 8 so I can rest! Darn series is like a bag of chips you can't eat/read just one!
Wow! As always book 7 , "Retribution," was the best installment yet. Out of a group of over 20 souls, I'm pretty sure less than ten are left; and the twist Jeff Olah threw into the last few paragraphs of "Retribution" left me shocked and speechless.
If you haven't already read "The Dead Years" series, you should make it next on your must read list. It's for anyone who enjoys books from the apocalyptic genre that are full of zombies and non-stop action.
I can't wait another minute to move on to the final book in the series - "Absolution."
