Newly out Josh doesn't expect to attract much attention in the big city. But in the Strip, where the men are always hungry for fresh meat, an impressionable country boy makes easy prey...This anthology combines all seven steamy volumes of the Masters Of Men series into a single cohesive novel. This complete collection contains The Master's Boy, The Master's Rival, The Master's Game, The Master's Pawn, The Master's Betrayal, The Master's Slave and The Master's End.*** I slid a hand around the back of Xavier's neck and tried to pull him closer, to kiss him – but he resisted. “If you want me now,” he said in a low growl, “then it means you're mine. You come when I call you. Any time. If I want you on your hands and knees, you'll crawl for me. If I tell you to suck, you'll do it until your jaw hurts. And then you'll do it some more. Got it?” The whole while his eyes were holding me, burning, dark, while his hands caressed my back, oddly gentle against the harsh words. He was subtly pulling me in against him and then pushing me back again, rolling my hips so that I ground against him. “Yes,” I whispered. He pulled me against him more forcefully, his arms crushingly strong. “Got it?” “Yes!” I said. “Good.” One of his hands slid lower, thrusting into the back of my jeans...
So at the end of the book our MC gets a text msg of "??!" And that kinda sums up how I felt reading this.
There were soooooo many cringeworthy moments/ dialogue that I felt in need of a shower because they made me feel dirty (and not in a good way) Like, the story goes on these weird tangents(cuz the main story wasn't engaging enough I guess???) One of them being a 30+ teacher getting his pubescent student(exact words they used to describe how young the kid was) drunk before he has his way with him. And im like ok... age gap I guess? Cuz vampires or werewolves are usually decades or even centuries older than their counterparts so I was like meh. But the WAY the whole thing is written just SCREAMS pedo and was soooo unconfortable to read I almost DNF. But alas I was curious as to where the plot was going so I went on.
Only to encounter another bizzare tangent of church altar college students taking advantage of a minor, they don't even bother to say their ages but way tooo dam young in my opinion. I almost DNF again but I was like "well I'm more than 70% so might as well finish this horror.
But then the MC turned out to be sooo infuriating. He was described and portrayed as smart, but as soon as he got a stiffy all logical thought went out the window. It was almost as if he could only have one light on at a time, either his upper head or the lower one. Heaven forbid both working at the same time. "Oh these guys might kill me? Who cares I just want him inside me!" (I'm paraphrasing but that's the oh so smart MC in a nutshell for the entire book)
And then in the end when it starts getting interesting the MC goes and has revenge sex (for some reason that baffles me) and then leaves (while the other guy is showering. ) and feels like he's the top cajuna for doing that. Yeah real brave there Hercules goes hand and hand with killing that hydra (making a poke at all the greek mythology thats randomly there in the book but does nothing than fill up page count)
So yeah... long rant but this book. Omg this book... such a shame it flowed so nicely and I liked the writing style, but the plot really left me "??!"
