What this book doesn't do:
Surprise! This book doesn't attempt to convince its readers to quit their jobs & travel the world. It isn't an account of Kate Jordan's life as an expatriate nor will it give you an endless list of inspirational travel type quotes.

What this book does do: This book unlike many things in life does as it says on the tin. At it's most basic; the book provides a high-level "check list", a few tips, some suggestions based on Kate's life experiences, & most importantly invaluable sources such as websites.

If you're relocating to a different country this book will assist preparing you prior to your relocation. I suspect european readers will find it especially helpful. Ex: Moving from UK to Netherlands. etc

What a cute, quick read! A book with travel tips and ideas for people who are considering leaving everything behind to travel the world indefinitely. I love the website resources and the advice and the laid back unpretentious voice! I do think this book is geared more towards young people, and although I'm 28, I would've appreciated more ideas for an array of age groups or special considerations. It did make me feel a bit like you have to be an amazing, energetic well-rounded person with no limitations to travel like this. I also just wanted...more! This is not an exhaustive book and doesn't claim to be, but I really wanted more everything: more personal vignettes, more specifics, more examples of things that could happen in different countries. All considered, this book is adorable and definitely made me feel like long term travel is possible.

This would be a great resource for people who are just beginning their travel journeys. Unfortunately most of this was really old info for me. I think the travel blog info was the most helpful for me. Good for intro to long term travel though...if you have never done it before.

For someone already interested in long-term travel, I really enjoyed the inspirational aspect of this book. The book only provided me with a few tidbits of new information, but it was still enjoyable and served as a great reminder of why I want to travel long-term in the first place. Some of the information was a bit outdated (to be expected in an older book) and/or a little too specific to the author's experiences. Overall, it was a pleasant read.
