Wedding planning is about to be the least of Rose’s problems.

She’s found her footing in the Pactlands, made friends, gained employment as the Division of Plants and Potions’ resident farseer, and is deeply in love with Yven ti’Ansha. She wrote her first novel the summer after her freshman year of college and never looked back. (Granted, that novel was an unpublishable 270,000-word behemoth, but everyone has to start somewhere, right?)
After obtaining degrees in English and creative writing and taking a stab at magazine work, Ash decided to put her skillset to different use and went to law school. She then moved home to Alabama, where she works as an attorney. These days, Ash can be found outside of Montgomery with her inordinately fluffy Siberian husky, who loves long walks, car rides, and whatever Ash happens to be eating.

Another excellent installment in the Pactlands series. I loved how this one spent so much time focused on Rose and Diriem, two of my favorite characters, and I especially loved all the funny Rose and Yven moments. The jokes of what would Rose be forced to do if their child were allergic to potting soil were just too funny 😊. Rose is busy planning her wedding and of course not all is going to plan, with lots of snobbery and nasty elven politics at play, with her cousin leading the charge. Those scenes were deliciously full of drama and I loved it. I also enjoyed the urban fantasy plotline for this book and am intrigued to see where things go next! 5/5 stars.

The plot started in Hex, carries on in Elemental. The plot is told by Rose and very irritatingly she puts up with her cousin's help (or interference) with her wedding. God knows why?
The ability to present farsight comes in very
useful to keep an eye on Katin and the other golden children who have been planning mischief (directed by someone else, it seems evident.) Ending up with two more humans being admitted to the Pactlands with severe magical symptoms. You can't help wondering if it is part of the plot started in Hex.
The book ends on a cliff hanger so you have no choice but to keep on reading - fortunately it's enjoyable, apart from the unbearable meanness of a certain person.

Rose and Yven getting married? Yasss!!! I was so glad that it was finally happening. I've read so many of these Pactland series that I feel like I know these characters... And it wouldn't be a good story without some tension, so of course there was some bad stuff happening... Tabitha, despite being human, had become part of these character's lives, so anyone messing with her had to be a combination of brave and stupid to come after her...
And that cliffhanger!?!?! I have to read the next book soon!!!!
