I've read 2 other interconnected series by this author, Laura Pavlov (Cottonwood Cove and Rosewood River). The audiobooks are pretty good with the newer series even done in duet narration which I prefer. So this boxset I'm reviewing is the 5 books in the Magnolia Falls series.
The series revolves around a close-knit group of friends referred to as the "ride or die" crew and throughout the books there are callbacks/connections to the Cottonwood Cove series, as well as hints/foreshadowing to the Rosewood River series.
Book 1 is boxer Romeo and Magnolia Falls socialite Demi. Demi's family history affects multiple storylines throughout the series, since her corrupt dad framed Romeo and River (MMC book 2) when they were teens for a convenience store robbery that his son actually committed.
Book 2 is attorney River and psychologist Ruby who is home in Magnolia Falls to help her bar-owner dad rehab from a recent stroke.
Book 3 is charismatic home contractor Kingston "King" and Saylor. I think Saylor is River's younger sister.
Book 4 is single dad Nash and Dr. Emerson Chadwick who is taking over local pediatrician practice from retiring long-time doctor. Emerson connects this series to the next series, Rosewood River, as her brother is the MMC in book one of Rosewood River. Also Nash's son, Cutler (aka "Beefcake), is an oft-mentioned character throughout the Rosewood River series, with his larger-than-life, flirty, vivacious personality. He's actually the MMC in book 1 of Pavlov's newest series (Blue Sky Bay series) which requires a bit of imagination suspension b/c it jumps ahead in time like 20 years.
Book 5 is firefighter Hayes and childhood best friend Savannah, who is back in town to settle adopted grandfather Abe's estate. Hayes and Savannah had a falling out many years ago due to a miscommunication trope. Blah.
