What a wonderful historical western book. Olivia had been running for a long time. She had been engaged to marry but when she discovered his dangerous side, she and her mother ran fast and far. He would always seem to find their approximate location, so they ran again. After her mother passes away she answers a mail order bride advertisement only to discover Jacob Hale was not expecting a bride. With no where else to go she convinces him to let her stay. Jacob is a widower who has no intention of ever marrying again. Then Olivia shows up claiming to be his bride. I highly recommend you read their story.
Olivia spent part of her life running from an abusive man. Would arriving at Jacobs ranch be her last stop or another temporary place. Jacob was still mourning his wife's death but with 2 children to raise he needed help. Would that be the wife his children had ordered for him?
Love this story, this book it's about survival freedom and not bowing down to any obstacles. It's sweet and full of find moments and realising how strong one can be for the right reasons.
Love involved story of two people who need each other but they don't want to acknowledge the need. Multitude of unresolved problems. Fight with wolves occupied almost as much time in story as story of the bully who wouldn't give up.
This is Olivia and Jacob's love story. She has been running from an abusive and controlling ex-fiance for years and answers an ad for a wife hoping that if she marries the other guy will finally leave her alone. So she arrives at Jacob's farm and finds out hmthat he didn’t want a wife or ask for one, but his 2 children did and they want a mother since theirs has passed away. The relationship starts as just a means to help each other out and will be in name only, but eventually they become all that the other needs. I really liked this. It was a slow burn and both of them are grieving a loss...and they are good together. I loved the kids! And Olivia falls for them very quickly and it was really sweet to see their relationships develop. I loved this.
