Gemini Roper by Jodi Payne and B A Tortuga is the second book in their Gemini Duet series and the 4th book in their Sin Deep series. I suggest you read the first one before this one as this is a continuing story about twin cowboys and how they found love. This is the story of the second twin who was the complete opposite of his brother and jealous that he found love and how he unexpectedly found the man who could meet all his needs as he also found the love he didn’t think was out there for him. Roper Vales came from a cowboy family and was a bull rider as was his identical twin, Ryder. They did everything together so he felt a huge loss when his brother was hurt so badly in a crash that he had to leave the rodeo. He was even more hurt when he found love with an older investor, Charles, in New York and lived life serving him which met his needs. Roper did not understand this because he was the ‘bad boy’ of the pair and while also a sub, was bratty, willful, and proud and loved to do things that would get a reaction out of others. He also knew he wanted a Dom/sub relationship and even though he had been to the club Charles and Ryder attended, he had not found anyone who suited his complicated needs. Then he, too, was involved in a bull riding accident that left him with a badly broken leg and ankle that would take a while to recover. His parents, especially his mother, was fed up with him laying around and sent him to Charles and Ryder where he acted the same way, mostly because he didn’t know what he would do if his career was over and he didn’t recognize the man his brother had become. He got on their nerves too, so Charles called his friends at the club and they suggested that they call Toby Tyler and see if he could help. Toby was a college professor of anatomy in New York City and also a very strict Dom. He drove up to their lake house and saw through Roper immediately when he calls him a ‘shrink’ and relishes the thought of dealing with him especially after Roper tells him he wasn’t sweet or obedient and liked to be pushy and then reeled in and sometimes spanked, which is just the kind of sub Toby liked. He offers him a room in his apartment in NYC to recover and they leave. Roper thinks he will leave in the morning but Toby says to give him 3 days so he can rest and that he can stay as long as he needs to but there will be rules. This intrigues Roper, plus he is hurting from his injuries, so he agrees. This starts a time of getting to know one another with Roper pushing back to see if Toby means what he says, which he does, and Roper getting a consequence, usually spankings, for every time he does it, which he needs and loves. Toby is one of the only people who sees the real person inside of Roper and he is both scared and thrilled about this. Toby hasn’t had a sub in a while, especially one that is everything he has wanted in one, and Roper is showing that he could be just that sub. Rules, safe words, and what they like and don’t like come out and there are some very hot scenes as they both realize they are what each other needed. Roper is jealous of what Ryder has with Charles and also knows deep down that his rodeo days are probably over and he has no idea of what the is going to do next. These add to his behavior and Toby lets him act out but also delivers the consequences. He also helps him talk out his problems but doesn’t push unless he feels it’s needed. He also takes Ryder to the club where they have a good time. They have both developed deep feelings for each other and Ryder admits that he doesn’t want to leave and Toby wants him to stay, too, and they say ‘I love you’ and will figure out what to do together going forward. When Ryder and Charles come to the club and find Roper dressed in his sub gear Ryder is shocked and an argument ensues. But Toby and Charles help them figure out they are both very different now than when they were growing up and they have to learn to accept their differences. At the end they do and Roper has found a surprising way to move on after retirement and Toby is there with him every step of the way. I really enjoyed this book. It is very different from Ryder’s story because Ryder is very soft and compliant and lives to serve while Ryder is every definition of a bad boy. His problems also stem from seeing how much his twin had changed and looking at retirement and not knowing what he was going to do with his life. Finding Toby was the best thing that could happen to him because he helped him see who he was and that it wasn’t a bad thing, and he was able to meet his needs in a way no one else had ever done. Roper also met Toby’s needs and they were a perfect fit. They loved the Dom/sub lifestyle and there are plenty of those hot scenes in this story. I highly recommend this book, especially if you like stories about a bad boy cowboy who is at a crossroads of his life and the Dom professor who knows just what he needs and helps him to figure out what comes next and how they fall in love.

Roper was a delightful contrast to Ryder, his twin brother and the MC of the previous book, Gemini Ryder. Both rodeo bull riders, Ryder suffered a career-ending head injury and ended up as a personal assistant to a wealthy widower, quickly becoming his service sub and partner. Roper continued bull riding until a severe injury to his leg and ankle caused him to miss the rest of the season, possibly more. Not sure what to do with himself, he goes to stay with Ryder and Charles, a visit that doesn’t go as well as it could. Being twins, the “boys” are practically identical physically, but in temperament and emotions they are like opposite poles. Ryder thrives as a service sub and in a wealthy environment, Roper is constantly chafing at the bit, unable to settle, not a service bone in his body and a reputation for being “a lot to handle”. Charles sends out an SOS to his club for help and Toby heeds the call, a Dom experienced with difficult subs, willing to see what he can do. A misunderstanding at the introductions has Ryder and Roper yelling at each other, Charles and Toby trying to calm them down, then Toby taking Roper and heading to NYC to deal with this angry young man.

Toby is a very intuitive Dom and figures out many things about Roper in a short length of time. He convinces him to give it a three day trial period which extends much longer. Toby doesn’t want Roper to leave, and Roper doesn’t want to leave, but with communication and boundaries they settle into a routine. Roper needs structure and limits, always ready to push them, but Roper also knows Toby will give him exactly what he needs when he needs. Toby and Roper have a kinkier lifestyle than Ryder and Charles, but it works well for them. Roper is content and happy where he is. The closer Roper gets to his leg being completely healed —or as well as it is going to be, he needs to contemplate his future, does he want Toby in it, can or will he make the changes needed to move forward, questions which add to his stress level and acting out. Luckily, Toby reads him like a book, getting him to open up, share some things he isn’t proud of, share his hopes and dreams, and make a plan to move forward, together.

The rift between Roper and Ryder had not been mended, and a meet at the end of the book goes a long way toward repairing that broken relationship, as both realize they are different people with different wants and needs, and each has found the person and lifestyle that fits them and makes them happy. It was the perfect ending for me in that these two who were joined at the hip most of their lives each had things about the other that they buried and led to the rift, but with the new lives each had forged, they were able to rebuild that bond and move forward.

This book was more explicit than Ryder’s book, but it fit Roper’s personality perfectly. BDSM, kink, and a Dom/sub dynamic was much more suited to Roper’s needs, whereas the Dom/service sub model was the best fit for Ryder, so both men had their needs met. The contrast in personalities was interesting to read when the physical appearance was almost identical on the outside. I received an advance review copy from the authors and this is my voluntary review, one where I wholeheartedly recommend both books in this series, especially if you are a fan of this author duo.

Gemini: Roper, by Jodi Payne and BA Tortuga, is book two in the Gemini Duet series about twin brothers Ryder and Roper. This book follows on from Ryder's story and the focus is on Roper. I think it is essential to read the books in order, so the story makes sense. Following a serious injury Bull Rider Roper goes to stay with his brother Ryder and Ryder's lover and Dom, Charles. Now that both brothers are out of the Rodeo, there's a lot of butting of heads and tension and it becomes rapidly clear that the two cannot stay together. Toby, an academic Professor and another Dom, is sent to see if he can help the situation and resolves to take Roper away for a few days so everyone can have breathing space. The story then follows Roper and Toby as they navigate this new connection.
Roper was a such a good character, there was so much more to him than most people realised, he was funny, smart and just so sweet. Toby clocked this very early on and it was key to their developing relationship. I immediately liked their dynamic and that Toby gave Roper the space to be himself as a sub. Roper had experienced rejection from other Doms, in addition, he also experienced rejection in a different way from his twin, and it was clear that this had had a strong impact on him. Toby championed him and was just so supportive. When they got together, we were rewarded with a beautifully written loving D/S relationship. I really thought that they were a good couple with excellent chemistry and the story is high heat.
Roper was my favourite of the twins, and I liked that the book also showed that Ryder's and Roper's relationship underwent a lot of change and strain as they both moved on from the Rodeo into new lives and relationships. There was the added tension in the way they were completely different in the way they gave their submission to the respective partners/Doms and neither twin fully understood the other. It was interesting to see how the Doms ultimately addressed that. I really liked reading the duet overall and would recommend both books. However, Roper was definitely my favourite twin and story. 4.9/5

Bull Rider

I love reading from these two authors. Add in a bull rider, and I am so in. Roper (A Bull Rider) can't figure out what to do with his life at the moment due to an injury during his bull riding season. He decides to visit his twin brother, Ryder. He has a hard time relying on others, so having to rely on his brother during this time is hard. All he wants to do is get better and get back to his life as a bull rider. Unknown to Roper, his brother's partner, Charles, calls in some help since Roper won't ask for any, and maybe if it isn't his brother, he will be able to ask for help. Toby (A Professor) comes into his life, bossy and too hot to be legal. Roper's life changes, but is it for the better? Toby is told ahead of time that Roper is a brat. Brats just make him want to control them. The relationship between these two men was so well written that I couldn't stop reading. Toby finds out that Roper might be a brat, but there is so much more under his skin that he wants to take in hand and help him. He wants to show him that he is worth him and so much more in life. I love books written this well in the BDSM lifestyle. I have lived it for twenty years now, and to be able to fall into a story that makes you feel you are right there with the MC's is just beautiful. These two authors just have what it takes to write a full story.

MY OPINION: In my opinion, these books should be read back-to-back. I don’t know that I would have enjoyed them as much if I hadn’t. Such a beautiful duet of books that I enjoyed completely. This is the review of the second book, and I think you want to read them in order.

I liked this book slightly more than the first. Not so much that there was anything bad about the first one, but these MCs drew me in more. I like the bratty sub with the hard(er) line, Dom, but together they make such a great Dom/s pair.

Getting to see Roper’s life changes after a wreck helps you see how the twins have been co-dependent their entire lives. Some interesting bits come out that give you insight to both men. I’ll also say my feelings about Ryder changed after reading Roper’s story.

The book is a bit of a roller coaster. Roper is trying to accept a reality he didn’t ask for, to accept what he wanted emotionally and physically, and to find a new life. Seeing how intuitive Toby is to Roper’s needs and how they fall into step with each other made me feel good.

There is plenty of spice, including a good amount of impact play, and some other activities from the lifestyle. There is a subplot where the twins have things to work out between them, but generally, this is all about the two of them finding their place in each other's lives.

A wonderful story with some very interesting men. A fantastic duet, I recommend it for sure if you like a cowboy who is happy to get on his knees.

This is such a great series, so many different dynamics but full of emotion. Loved the mc's as always and liked Roper as he is a much rougher character whose injury really forces him into a situation he can’t control, which, for someone like him, is half the battle.

Toby was a really good match for him. He’s confident and steady without coming across as overbearing, and it’s clear pretty quickly that what Roper needs isn’t just someone to challenge him, but someone who actually sees through all that stubbornness. The dynamic between them leans into that push and pull, with Roper testing boundaries and Toby holding firm in a way that feels grounded in care rather than just control.

There’s a fair bit of emotional unpacking here, especially around Roper’s past and his tendency to run when things get too real. That’s where the hurt/comfort side really shines, because the story takes its time letting him come to terms with what he actually wants and deserves.

Overall, it’s a satisfying mix of tension, growth, and connection. Roper’s journey feels earned, and seeing him finally settle into something stable (both in life and in love) makes the HEA hit that much harder. Excellent read!

4.5*
Loved. Very kink-forward, but takes time to build to the first spicy scene. Like book 1, there’s a focus on hurt/comfort and finding a new path in life after trauma. Roper has a lot to deal with and Toby gives him the structure and attention he needs to start chipping away at the obstacles in his path.

The intimacy is hot and emotional, but controlled, and followed by so much snuggling and aftercare. I love it. When Roper is having a bad day, Toby fixes him right up! 😂

There’s a great ILU scene joined with other exciting news. It’s emotional and realistic and just right.

The club visit is a whole character journey by itself. It’s sexy, dramatic, confrontational, then ultimately, trusting, earnest, and beautiful. 👌

The resolution between the twins is a bit anticlimactic. That’s what you get with doms running the show. I kinda wish the boys knocked heads a bit. Roper does roll his eyes and dismiss Ryder’s HEA, just like Ry does to Ro. They’re not on the same team anymore, cheering for one another the way they used to in rodeo. Maybe that’s just how it is. Still, I would’ve liked a scene of honesty between the brothers not moderated by doms. Roper doesn’t have any substantial scenes just between him and Ryder. That feels like a missed opportunity, but overall, this feels like a more satisfying and complete story than book 1.

I’ll remember Roper & Toby for beautiful moments of care and joy. ❤️‍🔥

My review

🌕🌕🌕🌘

How can twins be so different? Absolutely polar opposites! This was a fun book, but it grated a little bit because I felt that Roper demanded understanding and acceptance from Ryder without being willing to give it at first. Yes, he’s a first class brat, but it bordered on meanness and nastiness, so I wasn’t too sure. Good thing Toby has him well on hand, because he needed it, but I think I was too enamored with Ryder and Charles to have anyone even think negative thoughts their way. It was good to see the family dynamics a little bit more, and understand why they act the way they do at times, but I felt this was a little bit of a let down compared to the previous one. But I really, really, really liked Toby! He’s so no nonsense, and gives Roper what he always craved, and he is a much better character after Toby comes into his life. Their dynamics are, once again, beautifully portrayed, and I love how the brothers can have such opposing relationships, but eventually still accept each other’s choices. It was good, and I like how the authors write, I just felt salty because of how Ryder and Charles were treated, but it gets better. So we’re good.

Usually brats make books fun and interesting. However, Roper was a rather tedious addition to his brother's story. And I was not so pleased with him at the start of "Gemini: Roper".
Roper, like his brother, is/was a bull rider. A badly broken ankle sidelines him. And although he wants back in the game... maybe not happening. Staying two weeks with Ryder and Charles, he spirals downward. Charles calls in a professor friend, Toby and Roper moves in with him.
He's a brat with a scenery chewing addiction. Someone who needs a firm touch. Toby is up to the job. We get an age gap, opposites attract, hurt/comfort story. One that is a bit more into the kink than the first book in the duet. The title should've been "The cowboy and The professor". Just a bit cliche. The authors usually do well with it, but definitely cliched. Let's not forget that Roper is "complicated" and "conflicted". Toby does take him in hand and leads him to a realization and a good place.
The book was both annoying and just a tad vomit inducing. Payne and Tortuga do not do their usual fine job with the tropes here. I was a bit disappointed.

72-hour Dom, banana strings, walk the cat, beef tea, taint ring, kitten hoodie, 'kitten' charm, police cap, polish belt buckles, wooden spoon

"Gemini: Roper: Gemini Duet Book 2" is about identical twin brother Roper. Book 1 features Roper's brother, Ryder, his polar opposite, also a bullrider. It should be read before. Book 2 begins some months after Book 1's end. Ryder & Charles have already settled in and are happy together.

Roper misses traveling with Ryder whose career ended after an ill-fated, horrific ride; they were always together. Roper is the fiery wild child, like the bulls he rides. No man has been able to rein in and tame him. Until older and patient Dom Toby comes along. Roper hates being laid up after a bull stomped on his lower leg. But some-thing else is causing his misery and is unwilling to delve too deeply to figure out why. All he knows is he's tired of everything.

Here, the Dom/sub arc is much heavier than Book 1, but isn't off-putting--it's a few shades lighter than dark. It's Ryder's brattiness and sharp tongue that's entertaining. The twins being at odds is a twist. While it's nothing like Book 1, it's just as enjoyable. Like Book 1, the ending seems abrupt and is unsatisfying. It feels more of a HFN than a HEA. I still recommend it.

“Gemini: Roper” by Jodi Payne and BA Tortuga is the second book in the ‘Gemini Duet’ series and spotlights Roper, who is dealing with multiple challenges that affect his bull-riding career. Not only does he miss the constant presence of his twin, but he hasn’t found a Dom who fulfills his needs. Toby is intrigued by the man who is looking for someone who can deal with the complexities in his life and willing to get past the prickly obstacles being presented.

This adult contemporary erotic gay romance provides fascinating insight into the feisty Roper whose life has been upended by the injury that ended his twin’s career. His feelings of being set adrift are vividly portrayed, and it was heartwarming to watch the way Toby finds a way to get to the bottom of Roper’s bratty behavior even as his pain is revealed. I was captivated by the journey and happy to see the catharsis that helped repair what was broken. I love the way this writing duo creates realistic men who work through their challenges and manage to find love as well, and I can’t wait to meet another of their charismatic pairs.

4.5⭐️

This book was the first time in a series where I didn’t delight at seeing the MCs from a previous book. I spent the scenes with Ryder and Charles annoyed and ready for them to end…I actually went back and read my review of the first book to see if I’d hated them as much while reading their book (I hadn’t, though I also hadn’t ever loved Charles). Fortunately Ryder and Charles didn’t get much page time and I didn’t have to spend all that much time annoyed 😅

Roper and Toby were cute together and their relationship moved at a better pace than I’d felt Ryder’s did so I just enjoyed them more as a couple. I also appreciated their conversations around BDSM, though Ryder never felt like as much of a brat as everyone made him out to be 💁‍♀️ I would’ve liked to meet Toby’s twin sister, she was mentioned a few times but it would’ve been cool to see her interact with Roper.

All in all a pleasant and fun read, my main complaint was any time Ryder showed up with Charles 🙃

Book 2 in the duet series and this was a little more kinkier than book 1. I will admit I enjoyed book 1 more...I guess do the more emotional feels between the Ryder and Charles. In Book Ryder's twin brother Roper is really acting out and need a firm hand...in comes Toby a professor by trade but a Daddy who likes sassy boys like Roper. Their connection was not at all instant and I feel do to lack of communication between the two. Toby wasn't as firm/rigid but just the right type to tame Roper. I was giving this a 3.5 star rounding to 4 stars due to the lack of believable chemistry between the two MCs and the sideways relationship Roper and Ryder had throughout the book. I think I would have enjoyed this more if the twins were happier with each other's relationship...I guess it made it all realer and that everything is not fairy tale...All in all a nice HEA for the couple.

I received a copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Roper’s injury left too many questions…

Roper’s rodeo injury left many questions to be answered. Toby is a Professor and Dom who has searched for the right “boy” for himself, but decided to help out a friend with a boy in need.
They met and talked and decided to try a few day with some rules and consequences. Toby thought he could help this cowboy and discover what the need was.
We do meet up with Charles and Ryder.

The two men are wonderful for each other. Each man would get what they required to be happy and whole.
We see the process, the realizations and the corrections. They ended up with extreme feelings a love connection also.
The Dom/brat scenes were super exciting and very explicit.

A few major decisions changed made Roper”s life fulfilling and Toby was behind him all the way. Our men settled in and need some clarification which settled the hearts in their lives.
ENJOY !

Another amazing story!

I absolutely loved this book! The tale of Roper and Toby begins when Roper gets hurt and ends up staying with his twin Ryder. It isn’t going well, though, and that’s when Toby gets the call to see if he is willing to work with Roper. He agrees and their adventure begins. Roper needs a firm hand and Toby is more than happy to give it to him. It will take a bit for Toby to convince Roper that he wants him to stay but once it happens, the result is amazing! There are a few bumps along the way but the two manage to find their rhythm and Roper makes a life changing decision that will make it easier for the two to stay together. Roper and Ryder will also get the chance to meet up again and make peace and I love how this story ends!

I read an ARC copy of this book and am volunteering my honest review.

Loved this!

This was such a good companion to Ryder's book. I love that Roper and Ryder are so similar in very core ways but seem so dramatically different. Where Ryder is soft, Roper is a spiky which makes them seem like they are worlds apart but it was sweet to see that Roper just wanted someone who understood him and cherished him for who he was. Toby was a great match for him and it was lovely to see that he appreciated Roper just as he was and was happy to give him what he needed. Seeing Roper learn that he could just be was a highlight of the story, second only to he and Toby really learning each other and developing the kind of relationship that lasts. I would recommend that you read Ryder's book first; it's not necessarily required but it will add a lot to your appreciation of the story, plus it's a great book!

I ended up liking this book more than the first installment of the duet. Roper is such a complicated, stubborn character, and his journey felt more emotionally engaging than his brother's. Watching him grapple with his injury, his pride, and his fear of vulnerability added authenticity to his story.

The relationship between Roper and Troy was more believable, and I appreciated the care taken with the D/s dynamic, as well as the hurt/comfort aspect of the story. Roper needed Troy's steady patience and Troy was the perfect person to give him what he needed. Their connection took time to develop, but the emotional payoff was worth it.

Overall, I enjoyed this installment more than the first, but reading the first is essential to enjoying this book.

The companion book to Gemini: Ryder where we get to learn more about Ryder's brother Roper who is also a bull rider and suffers an injury although not a career ending one as Ryder's was. Roper looks down on Ryder in many ways for finding love with Charles in the first book and he resents that Ryder seems to have not had to struggle to leave bull riding behind. Roper definitely intends to return. Pairing him with a college professor is an interesting choice as Toby knows exactly what he wants (Roper) and fortunately is smart enough and patient enough to let Roper figure out what he wants out of life at his own pace and on his own terms. Roper is much like the bulls he rides initially, fighting any type of relationship and commitment with all his strength and determined not to be hurt again.

Roper is the total opposite of his twin—wild, stubborn, and used to taking life by the horns. After a devastating injury in the bull-riding ring, he heads to his twin’s place to recover, expecting boredom and frustration. What he doesn’t expect is Toby.

From the moment they meet, the tension in the room is impossible to ignore. Roper’s fiery temper and restless spirit clash with Toby’s calm, steady presence—until Toby becomes the only one who can truly settle him. Sparks fly, tempers flare, and the attraction between them becomes harder to deny.

The gauntlet has been thrown—but can Toby really tame a man like Roper, or will Roper end up stealing Toby’s heart instead? A fiery, emotional romance full of healing, passion, and two opposites learning they may be exactly what the other needs.

Roper is a brat and a live wire. He needs someone with a firm hand who can control, or give him the means to control, his inner static. He doesn’t understand his brother anymore, but he wants the happiness Ryder has found for himself - just not the same way. Toby thinks he might be the right person for the job. He sees Roper in a way no one else does and gives him what he needs. It just turns out to be beneficial for them both. I enjoyed this one, but not as much as the first one. I get why though. Neither twin is perfect and they have both done some dumb things and said some things in anger. Roper has to let it go and he and his twin need to put the past behind them and live for the present while looking towards the future.

Oh boy let me tell you something this book was wow I don't even know how to describe it other than wow. This is part of a duet this is Gemini duet book 2 and oh my word. The author did an amazing job with a BDSM scenes. I thought that one was wow but let me tell you something book two was even better. The author did a good job with the characters they just wow I was very much love this book it was everything I could ever imagine and more. I really hate that this is just a duet because I would love to see this flourish so much more I know it is part of another series I do believe don't quote me on that but I think so. This was just an amazing duet series that I got to read and I am so in love with it I'm going to have to buy it and pay her back.

Roper has now also had a career ending injury to his ankle, although he fights against that realization as hard as he fights himself and the people around him. Club friends seems Dr Tobin (Toby) to rescue him from Ryder and Charles when his depression is at its deepest and he is lashing out. Toby turns out to be the perfect fit, with a firm hand for Roper to push against and a knack for seeing beneath the surface to the reality of who he is. I loved watching Roper's secrets finally come to light and how that let him heal and fall in love. These two are definitely on the slightly rougher side of the BDSM spectrum in these books, but the love underpinning their scenes with each other came through loud and clear. I especially loved Toby's cat and how she ruled their apartment!

Satisfying! Roper, has an injury and is sidlined from his Rodeo career. He decides to visit his twin, Ryder who is in a new committed relationship with Charles. Ryder, is different than Roper remembers and he finds it difficult to accept that. Toby, is a professor and is answering a favor to help Roper adjust to his new temporary life limitations. Roper is better acquainted with the D/s lifestyle and Toby, a Dom thinks he may help Roper. Roper has a few esteem and personal expectation issues. Their relationship is an adventure of patience, owning one's truth and acceptance. Great flow, great discovery, amazing characters and the different relationship are fun. Roper and Toby are a good match. Great story, nice flow, excellent characters.

Roper-ing his man

This duo of books by this duo of authors is a hoot and a half as the twins might say. This one has the kinkier twin, Roper finding happiness and a red butt with Toby. As with the other book these two don’t make sense on paper because they are so different, but when they meet they align perfectly. Roper is a nice brat and he was so much fun to read about and I enjoyed how he kept his professor on his toes, but wasn’t nasty about it. It all came across like the two of them were just having fun with it all with neither of them taking things too seriously. I enjoyed how different the twins were and how the authors emphasized that it was ok to like different things.

What an enjoyable complement to Bk 1 in the duet. In this book, we get the story of twin Roper and Toby, an anatomy professor. Although Ryder (Bk 1) and Roper are identical twins, their desires for kink are at opposite ends of the spectrum. Roper is at the crossroad of his life, with a possible career-ending injury and the change in the relationship with his twin, who now is in a relationship of his own.

When submissive Ryder is matched up with dom Toby, they both expect that it might last a few days. Ryder is a strong-willed sub who likes to test limits, push boundaries, and goad for "punishments". Fortunately, Toby enjoy and is up for the challenge. This is a feel-good book with lots of heat and a beautiful forever love.

In the past year, Roper's life has been turned upside down. His twin brother recovered from a near-fatal accident that turned into a man he doesn't recognize, and now he's broken his ankle. Badly. After a month of making his brother a worried mess, reinforcements are called in and Roper ends up living with Toby. Toby's been told that Roper's been through it and that he needs a firm hand, but not much else. What he doesn't except to find in Roper is a partner and a best friend.

This book leaned a bit more into the D/s relationship and was great to read. You can feel Roper's frustration bleed from the pages and can finally relax when Toby turns out to be exactly who he needs.

Thank you for the book; here is my honest opinion:
These two were fun, I enjoyed it a lot. Roper is injured, angry, and scared about his twin’s new life and the potential loss of his rodeo career due to injury. He’s also acting out and running the risk of alienating those closest to him. Toby is called in as a sort of emergency Dom when Charles and Ryder have had enough of Roper’s company. Roper was fun, I really felt for him, but also enjoyed his gift for pushing buttons. There is some fun but generally polite tension between the two Doms as Toby and Charles are caught between in twins drama. Great characters, really enjoyed it!

💝Wow, the writers have done it again.💖

Rooper always tries to push the boundaries, and since his twin brother found love after a serious accident, Rooper has lost his way. He longs for someone who accepts him and loves him for who he is.

Then Toby crosses his path. Toby sees Rooper. Accepts him, and slowly their love blossoms.

Both Rooper and Toby find love with each other, and for Rooper, it becomes clear what his future holds and that he can make it happen together with Toby.

Thank you GRR for the opportunity to read and review this ARC

Roper is recovering from an intense bull riding injury but instead of struggling through necessary recovery therapy he wallows in self-absorbed pity.  Toby is a strong Dom hired by Roper's twin brother Ryder (and his life partner Charles) to iron out Roper's existence.  This is not the usual Dom/sub relationship as Toby is what I call a "soft" Dom in that he sees the potential appeal
for Roper and his high-strung personality.  Toby is able to help Roper find the life he wants and craves.  And this element was what I enjoyed reading in this ARC I was given as this was a thoroughly enjoyable read for me.

I loved it and I loved it some more, not enough stars!!!! OMG! For this to make complete sense, please read Gemini Ryder first! There is so much more to understand now about Roper. He's not nearly as brash as I had been waiting for. Toby is the answer to all of Roper's prayers. He understands, he gives him what he needs and accepts him. Toby won't let anyone, not even family make Roper feel bad about himself. It's brilliant from my point of view! I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.
