In 1979, the murder of a beauty queen, Catalina Danielson, gets pinned on an innocent man after an ambitious young lawyer, Larence Kutnick, manipulates a sham prosecution to bury the truth and elevate his career. Decades later, disgraced former ranger E.J. Kane stumbles onto the murder through a forged threat letter, a suspicious death, and a cascade of cartel violence bleeding into rural Texas. Unlocking the mystery of E.J.'s false disgrace leads him to solve the cold case death from near a half a century ago, uncovering the dark secrets shrouding the Danielson family and their infamous Diablo brand. Unknown to E.J. his daughter, Sharla, goes undercover, jeopardizing their family. To strike justice for the dead and the living, E.J. drills through a lifetime of corruption, culminating in forcing the most powerful in the halls of the Texas Capitol to draw their own line or be consumed by the fire they set.
Biography Micheal E. Jimerson lives with his wife, Mona, and son, David, on the family farm where he was raised in East Texas. Mona runs Simply Southern, a catering business. David keeps both his parents on the baseball field most of the year Micheal graduated from the Baylor University School of Law in 1993. Thereafter, he entered private practice. He concentrated on personal injury, civil litigation, and criminal defense. Pro Bono work for the local women’s center led him to be elected office as County and District Attorney. The privilege to serve as an elected prosecutor has led to many jury trials, accolades, and documentaries, but more important it has provided an opportunity to witness the timeless values, faith, and courage of ordinary people facing down exceptional evil every day.
Striking Justice by Michael E. Jimerson is a thrilling story based on Christian principles. It is a well-written, gripping story that keeps you on the edge of your seat until the very end.
This is the third entry in the E.J. Kane series. It begins with a man framed for murder in 1979, continues with a related murder in 2017 and then concludes in the current day. E.J. Kane is a man driven by duty and honor, qualities sorely lacking in most of the people he encounters during his investigation of the two historical killings. He also suffers from multiple traumas and physical problems. His family is fractured and damaged, and he is not sure if he wants to live or not.The story's antagonist is a thoroughly vile and arrogant man who justifies his actions by thinking someone has to make the hard decisions that the rest of the world can't. The tale ends with a satisfying resolution to both the historical and current crimes and perhaps more importantly, ends with a hopeful realignment in E.J. Kane's family. All in all a great read.
Wow just, wow!!! Overwhelmingly captivating. This was intense, riveting, gripping non-stop action from start to finish. The stamina, fortitude, tenacity, and perseverance for " justice" was impactful. Some people don't seem to get their just deserts, but rest assured it comes one day, one person at a time!!! This was an inspirational read. In the epilogue, E.J. was so cool. Actually he's always cool. Looking forward to more hard hitting justice and integrity to come. Kudos!
I voluntarily read a free copy of this book provided by book sirens and am giving an honest review.
I thought that this was a pretty good read. A well-paced and layered story of corruption and conspiracy, with very human characters. I found this story more engaging than the previous books in the series. There were a few typos towards the end of the book that I imagine will have been tidied up before release.

STRIKING JUSTICE, #3 - An immersing read with interesting characters and intriguing story lines. It was the wait for this book. Source: The Author, ARC. 4*
WHITE GOLD. #1 - A new author to me and I almost enjoyed this book immensely. Editing is needed, it is distracting. Otherwise, I found the story interesting with good characters and well thought out story lines. Hard to put down with intriguing twists and one character that stood out with his actions when push came to shove, which was great. Source: Bookfunnel. 4*
DRAW A HARD LINE, #2 - An interesting and intriguing continuation of White Gold. Things come to light from an unlikely source, and while some things ate solved, others bust open. Lack of editing is not as intrusive as with WG. Source: The author, ARC. 4*
I wrote my E.J. Kane mystery trilogy because some time back I became disillusioned. Both the right and left seemed only to agree on turning criminals out onto the public and on the road to legalizing even hard drugs, despite knowing drug abuse is a major factor in human trafficking, child abuse, sexual assault, and murder. We had always prosecuted our own law enforcement, but it began to seem like a witch hunt. Add to this, we were also divided by wars costing the nation young men and women. Into this crucible I placed a traditional law and order conservative officer and a no-nonsense classically liberal trial lawyer, the kind of people who used to be able to find common ground. Their disillusion is like our division, and each struggling to find peace with loss. But ultimately, I wanted an inspirational story with a morning in America moral. Striking Justice, An E.J. Kane Mystery will drop in January '27. I am assembling an ARC team. https://booksirens.com/book/EADYDR3/E...
