I really loved the storyline in this two-book volume. Part two brings us the HEA we expect with a few bumps along the way. I wanted to wring Lady Victoria’s neck!

The heartbreak of the acutest kind. Betrayal of a trusted family member. Scandal ready to rip the family apart. OMG! This just tore my heart in two.

Rating: Mature: no kidding: Book 2 in the ‘Everything Will Change’ series. It is best to read book 1 in order to understand the family dynamics of the Duke of Dunsmore’s family and what exactly happened to Elizabeth Bennet all those years ago. As the book blurb states, Elizabeth now knows her true parentage and has returned to Longbourn in order to get to know her Bennet family. Darcy promised to give her time to adjust to her new situation and that is where this story picks up.

Darcy and Elizabeth have agreed that she needs time to adjust to her new family. He has professed his love for her and he knows that she loves him. Before he left for Pemberley, he insisted that they would marry. Elizabeth was left with the hope of his return.

Darcy was leaving for Hertfordshire when a carriage accident nearly killed him. Lady Victoria was at Pemberley and insisted on helping nurse him. What she did was despicable. I can’t even mention it without giving a spoiler. Then there was a fire with the tenants. Fate seemed to be keeping Darcy from returning to Longbourn and Lizzy with several situations that required his involvement. Lady Victoria handed Darcy a supposed letter from Elizabeth breaking off their involvement. Darcy suspected that Lady V had written the letter as Elizabeth wouldn’t have written such a missive. He accused his cousin and she said something that made his blood run cold. He was only beginning to realize the depts of deceit that his cousin was capable of.

Once back at Netherfield, Darcy had to deal with Caroline and her cloying ways. Gracious, this was like trying to swim upstream. Everything that could interfere with ODC did. After spending time with Elizabeth, Darcy was called back to Pemberley when he received an express from Lord Matlock stating a family situation needed his attention. When I heard what the situation was…. I wanted to scream ‘NO’ at the top of my lungs. This was infuriating… it was unimaginable.

Back in London, Lady Victoria was horrid, cruel and a menace when in the presence of Elizabeth. This situation had to play out and we had to wait for the results. Darcy and Elizabeth had to endure so much. Other P&P situations from canon had to play out. The Lydia/Wickham scandal happened off the page and was handled rather quickly. Mr. Bennet this is at your feel. Lizzy tried to tell you.

The ending happened rather quickly and there was no epilogue. I rather wanted to know what happened after.

Lizzy at Longbourn

Lizzy, who was raised by Duke’s family has found out she was kidnapped and has moved to her rightful family. There are many bad actors trying to get exactly what they want from Darcy or Lizzy all the time . Kind of a one note ditty instead of a well written song.

Generally speaking the depiction of Lizzy tends to be the focus of a JAFF variation. Here she is naive, arrogant and a bit haughty with other of the aristocracy. So she is battling with lack of knowledge since no one tells delicate females anything much

I give the story a 3.5 stars rating rounded up to 4 stars. Constant angst. Almost to the end. Sometimes there was so much angst I had to put the story away for a day or two. I couldn’t find anyone to root for. Everyone except some members of the Duke’s family were people I would have never wanted for a friend.

Lizzy thought well of Wickham way to long and Wickham and Lydia happened again. Boring AND irritating . Given Lizzy was a “daughter” of a Duke, why he couldn’t have been moved to India or Canada before he did the same old damage made Lydia running away with W again seem lazy scripting.

SPOILER: As much as I loved the first book in this series I have to say I was disappointed in this second book. My main objection is the unrealistic event of not only Lady Victoria Fitzwilliam being allowed to nurse and stay alone with Darcy in his injured and unconscious state but also the horrific sexual advances she made on his body while he was in that state. I don’t care if they were close and loving cousins or if the families allowed them time alone on many occasions; it is not acceptable behavior, not now, not then and not in JAFF, in my opinion.

This book tells the story of Elizabeth’s return to her biological family and her adjustment there. She does this while keeping ties with her “adopted” family. And they insist she keep her companion, her ladies’ maid and her dowry. I found the love and support, the visits, and the care given by the Duke, Avery, and Lady Sophia so gratifying. The Bennet family held no blame towards these important people in Lizzy’s life. But Lizzy finds her biological family as described in canon and even her relationship as her father’s favorite being reinstated makes no difference to Mr. Bennet when she points out his neglect in monitoring and disciplining his two younger silly daughters.

Mr. Collins shows up with expected results. Lady Catherine has no changes in speech or behaviors, just in location of such. Wickham is as always; again there is a brief interlude when he and Elizabeth seem to be friends as he pours out his troubles to her. Bingley: Bingley is even more tepid in his behaviors of showing up, paying attentions and leaving without an explanation. The soldiers’ presence and the Brighton adventure remain a part.

But at the center of our story is our dear couple, Darcy and Elizabeth. They have declared their feelings to each other at the end of Book 1 but he now stays away to give her time to adjust and find her footing in her “new family” and in her new position in society. They can’t write as there is nothing formal in their attachment so they get little news of each other. When he does set out to visit Hertfordshire…well, here I am not going to go any further. Events, people and circumstances turn against them. The misunderstanding between ODC is a new variation from Jane Austen’s P&P.

Much is taken from canon in this book. We read snippets and paragraphs of the same dialogue. Darcy and Elizabeth do get their HEA but it is not while strolling the lanes around Longbourn. I read this book in one day and was happy to learn the rest of the story. I just could have done without the event I mentioned in the first paragraph.

So Far Away ( Pride and Prejudice Everything Will Change Book 2 )

Another terrific ending to a two part story. Leaving her life as Lady Elizabeth Montlake and taking on the name of Miss Elizabeth Bennet was like night and day. All of the weaknesses Darcy related to her were oh so true. Her mother never thinks before speaking, her father doesn't care to involve himself in family affairs, the two youngest are too young to be out in public, and the youngest is ridiculous and a flirt with no moral aptitude. When Elizabeth confronts her father, he ignores her and is mad that she has called him to task. Darcy ready to come to Hertfordshire has a carriage accident that leaves him bad shape and under a laudanum-induced unconsciousness state. Unfortunately, Lady Victoria has taken it upon herself to nurse him back to health. Lady Victoria makes Caroline Bingley look like a saint. She compromises Darcy by having sex with the unconscious patient. He thinks he is dreaming that Elizabeth is here with him, but his minds tells him she is one hundred miles away, and they weren't married yet. Aggravated that calls out her name, she decides to write a letter supposedly from Elizabeth. When she finally tells him of her letter and gets the letter from her, she figures she has won her prize. When Darcy reads the message that smells like Victoria rather than Elizabeth, Victoria was able to match her handwriting, but not her writing style. He is upset that she would do such a thing and tells her that he will never marry her. He ships her back to Matlock. He returns to Hertfordshire and Elizabeth and all is well until he gets a letter from the Earl to return to Derbyshire, Victoria is sick. When he gets there, the Earl is hesitant to say Victoria's sickness. She strolls into the room and tells Darcy that he compromised her, and she's with child. He denied having anything to do with her, and his Uncle is likely to agree with him. The earl tells his daughter that if she has made up this story to trap Darcy, and she's not pregnant, he will send her away. Confined to home, she shows her stomach enlargement, and Darcy tells her she needs to push herself away from the table. He knows she's not pregnant at least by him. He says that they will wait before any announcement is made. The Duke, Elizabeth's brother, tells Darcy he's not to see Elizabeth. When she does see him, she rips the necklace from her neck that he gave her. When it finally is proven that he had not compromised her, when Lady Catherine finds out what her niece had done, she rushes in for Anne. When he will not respect the "wishes from the cradle" story, she heads to the Duke's London home to confront Lizzy. She promises Lady Catherine that she will not refuse him should he ask. Before her brother's wedding, news comes of Lydia's eloping with Wickham. Combined forces locate them, get them married, and shipped off to Newcastle. Before leaving London, Darcy is invited to the Duke's wedding festivities. Seeing Elizabeth, he asks to speak with her and makes his proposal, and she makes him the happiest of men, by saying yes. Heading back to Hertfordshire, upon arrival he asks for a private audience with Mr. Bennet. Consent and blessings are given. Lady Sophia Montlake, her mother, and Avery, the Duke of Dunsmore, her brother attend the wedding along with all her Bennet family. Happy, happy ending. Thank you, Pam for another delightful novella.

Excellent, enjoyable re-imagining of the classic story. Quite emotional in parts. Great storyline which keeps the essence of the characters but brings a different perspective to their relationship. Pearl Hewitt's narration brings a lovely depth to the characters and is easy on the ears. The second volume of the story it covers Elizabeth return to her real family and the development of their relationship, and the various trials and tribulations that occur. It keeps the main parts of the original novel. I received a complimentary copy from Storyoriogin and am leaving a voluntary honest review

Title and Author: So Far Away by P.O. Dixon
Type: Pride and Prejudice Variation
Perspective: Darcy and Elizabeth
Romance Level: Austen-esque
Recommended: no, 2.5 stars (the first in the series was best)

Summary: This is part 2 after Lady Elizabeth. When she finds out the truth of her past, she knows she must return to Longbourne to her "true" family, but knows she can never leave her other family, her brother, Avery-now the Duke of Dunsmore, and mother, Lady Sophia-behind. But life at Longbourne is not idyllic. Her sisters are not well bred or intelligent and no one seems to mind.

Mr. Darcy promises he will wait for her ,but he didn't imagine the accidents and conniving people that would keep him away from her. A lie almost keeps him away for good.

Pros
The relationship between Lady Sophia, Avery and Elizabeth is sweet.
I liked Elizabeth taking her father to task for the behavior of her sisters. One wishes she would/could in the original.
The relationship between Jane and Elizabeth is also refreshing. I liked that they had a connection even though they had not been raised together.

Cons
Lady Victoria. Ick. Ick. Ick. I have a hard time imagining this happening that one of Darcy's people would it have found a way to throw her out.
Why does Darcy take Lady Victoria's lies so seriously? Does he really want to help her that badly?
The HEA is really less satisfying at the end because Darcy has been so awful to Elizabeth.

An interesting read and variation of Pride and Prejudice. I did enjoy this variation as with all of the authors other variations of this classic story. It’s a “What if” and doesn’t diminish the original story but expands on the possibilities of the story and the great characters that Jane Austen wrote.

I was excited for this second book. I enjoyed the first book. I could not finish this book. An act I can't I can't write without spoilers ruined the story for me. If that was going to happen I want a warning!
The narrator is good.

Shocking and inappropriate event that does not belong in JAFF prompted an angry DNF from me after I so thoroughly enjoyed the first book. Ugh.

Not a favourite.

A clear money grab splitting 1 longer story into 2. Confusing too in that people who would have known Elizabeth in the noble sphere she grew up in have barely met.

I received this book in exchanged for an honest review. Any thing you read here is solely my opinion after reading said book. I going to start off by saying that I really liked this book and I am a huge JAFF fan as well as a fan of Ms. Dixon. I will also say that this book is part two of the Everything Will Change series, meaning that for a proper understanding you will want to read part 2 (Lady Elizabeth). I would like to say one thing, that I found this book very predictable and that I liked part one a little better. With that being said I will proceed. This book picks up where Lady Elizabeth picks off. Elizabeth found out that the Bennets are her family and agrees to go live with them and this point Lizzy and Darcy have no understanding. Darcy agrees to give Lizzy sometime to terms with her real family and decides that he will follow her into Meryton. A whole lot of things happen to prevent his first attempt one of which was a carriage. Once Darcy gets better he heads to go see Elizabeth only to be summoned to by his Uncle Fitizwilliam later. I won't go into it any further but I will say there were quite a few scandals that followed. To find out what happens you will have to read the book which I do recommend.

What an absolutly thrilling read, the angst was excruciating though. The reunion of the Bennets was heart-wrenching but it was nothing compared to the angst inflicted by lady Victoria Fitzwilliam...

Elizabeth is on her way to reunite with the Bennets. She spends her time getting to know her long lost family. Darcy is planning to follow shortly but he is injured in a carriage accident, bedridden and under the influence of laudenum he is taken advantage of by his cousin. He returns to Heartfordshire but are soon summoned by the Earl of Matlock.
Being subject to the schemes of his cousin, he breaks his promise to Elizabeth and they are driven appart...

Loved the tender moments between the sisters and between Elizabeth and her brother, there was a really heart-warming one on a balcony at a ball.

I did feel Elizabeth gave in a bit too easily at the end... Darcy chose to honour his cousin over his promise to Elizabeth, I would have thought that the wound would not heal without some rebuilding of trust. However, that is nitpicking and not enough to deduct a star.

This book is Unputdownable thrilling! Heartily recommend!

I very much enjoyed this book. Pam Dixon has written another page turner. It was difficult to put this book down. When everything seemed to settle into place for Darcy and Elizabeth another impediment would loom. Elizabeth has joined the Bennet family and is shocked at their behavior, but, knows they ae what has been missing. She now has two mothers and a brother who is looking out for her. Mr. Darcy is ready to go to Netherfield and wait for her to adjust to her new family when he is involved in a carriage accident. His cousin, Lady Victoria, desperately wants him for herself and will stop at nothing to get him to marry her.

I loved Pearl Hewitt's narration. She has a knack for making you feel you are in the room with the characters watching the scene unfold. Her accent puts you in the drawing room of Regency England and her consistency in the voicing of the characters is remarkable. I have enjoyed Pearl's narrations.

I received the audiobook from the narrator in exchange for an honest review.

Elizabeth is now in the Bennet family and is shocked by the behaviour of all except Jane. She is torn between trying to belong to this family and trying to prevent her family from being ridiculous. Mr Bennet doesn't take kindly on lizzys interference nor her refusal to hate her "grandfather" emulate Duke/Grace. Lizzy struggles with love for her grandfather and anger for removing him from her real family. I enjoyed reading about Darcy's "courting" of Elizabeth in Herfortshire but Bingleys inconsistency was frustrating. One scene in the book that I didn't think needed to be written was Lady Victoria's intimate appraisal of Darcy when he was not conscious. Omitting it would have created mystery later when Lady Victoria accuses Darcy of something that will threaten his relationship with Elizabeth and would have garnered a higher rating from me.

This is the second (and final) book in the P&P variation series, Everything Will Change. I enjoyed both books very much, indeed. There's a huge conflict to be resolved in this one. Without giving away anything, suffice it to say that Lady Victoria gives Caroline Bingley a run for her money in the evil villain department. I devoured this book trying to get to the resolution and Happily Ever After that is a must for D&E. Well done Ms. Dixon! I'm officially addicted to your work.

loved it

It was worth the wait for the ending of this story. Although the author has many well written stories this one is one of my favorites. I don't want to give away the plot so all I will say is I recommend taking the time to read this book.
