This was amazing! I couldn’t stop reading and when I had to I thought about it. The story was so clever and it kept me on the edge of my seat.
This is a re-telling of Alice in Wonderland and I have to admit the original story has always sort of freaked me out. It seemed like a fever dream and I never was a fan. This took so many aspects of that but twisted them and made it its own story that was by far better than the original ever was for me.
Lysander is determined and so annoyingly stubborn. He keeps pushing his limits even when repeatedly being warned off and he gets into a lot of trouble. Each scenario he wound up in was messed up and crazy but I highly enjoyed them all!
HL Day, writing as HL Night, has outdone herself. Her writing is top notch and the story never dulls. This really did blow me away. I’m sad it’s over and I definitely see me re-reading it!

Lysander is determined and so annoyingly stubborn. He keeps pushing his limits even when repeatedly being warned off and he gets into a lot of trouble. Each scenario he wound up in was messed up and crazy but I highly enjoyed them all!
HL Day, writing as HL Night, has outdone herself. Her writing is top notch and the story never dulls. This really did blow me away. I’m sad it’s over and I definitely see me re-reading it!

I could not put this book down. Utterly addictive, from the first to the last page. It blew all my expectations out of the water.
A queer retelling of Alice in Wonderland reimagined as a dark, twisted island where the super-rich go to play… This book masterfully balances the dark and gritty with the surreal and whimsical, creating a world that is intensely atmospheric and impossible to look away from.
An unsettling, lingering horror haunts the narrative, seamlessly fading into hypnotic, escapist erotica. Indulgent and decadent… and oddly grounding.
For a dark romance, the relationship is surprisingly easy to root for. As is Lysander, even if, at times, watching his decision-making feels like watching a slow-unfolding horror and uselessly screaming, ‘Don’t go down that rabbit hole.’
Nico absolutely glistens. There’s something so mysterious and compelling about him. I wanted to peel back every layer and understand every part of his story. I left satisfied and craving more.
Darkly charming and whimsical. I cannot recommend this book enough.
