Claimed By Her Rogue Alpha: A Forbidden Forced Proximity Romance

Rate this book
One moment I'm an invisible omega archivist. The next I'm bonded to the pack's most dangerous rogue alpha, every move watched, every breath accounted for.

Bond marks don't misfire onto record keepers. Except this one did. And now everyone wants to know why.

The Council assigns Ryan Mitchell as my enforcer. Exiled Alpha. Dangerous.

He's supposed to keep me contained. Instead, he's the only person standing between me and everything they want to do to me. For once in my life, someone is on my side.

Two people who were never supposed to happen, watched by the very system trying to keep them apart.

He looks at me like I'm the first woman he's wanted since his own mate bond mysteriously shattered.

I stop resisting and the heat between us ignites. Forbidden. Consuming. Impossible to deny.

When he chooses me over the system trying to control me, I fall completely.

But the Council already owns me. And Ryan's signature sealed my fate.

Loving him might be the very reason they can destroy me.

I enjoyed this book; however, poor editing made it difficult to read in a smooth manner. The largest problem, for me, was inconsistent use of quotation marks. This led to me having to go back and reread sections to see if someone was speaking or not. For example, if Brooke had a paragraph of speech, only the first sentence might have quotation marks and the rest none. Or no quotation marks at first then one on the final sentence. This led to much backtracking in my read to see if she or Ryan were actually speaking or thinking something.

Another problem with this novel was clunky, unexplained in any logical ways, transitions. For example, at the end of one scene, Ryan has been shot with a tranquilizer dart, he is falling, his weight bringing Brooke to her knees, and as he fades to black the last thing he sees is her face while enforcers are closing in. Ok, fine, but the next scene opens with Brooke helping, almost carrying him down an escape corridor with no explanation of how she managed to lift him, escape the enforcers and find the corridor. It was like the author wanted that to happen so just wrote it without bothering to add any logical explanation for how that miracle occurred.

I know I am making it sound like I didn't like the book, which is not the case. I just know that it could have been a 5-star book if a little more care, and editing, had been added. I would recommend this book, just go in knowing you may have to reread sections to be clear on who is speaking or if they are speaking at all.

I will read other books by this author and hope that her editing issues have been resolved in the other books.

Brooke, a woman who prefers to remain in the shadows, works as an archivist. Fate, however, pushes her into the spotlight when she is reluctantly assigned to record the day's bonded pair ceremony. The event takes an immediate, shocking turn: before the ceremony can even start, the lead enforcer, Ryan, instinctively grabs her to save her from a fall, instantly creating an unsanctioned bond between them that rocks the very foundation of the council.

Ryan, a disgraced Alpha determined to live by his own code of justice, feels the same undeniable, immediate connection. Their bond is forbidden—or is it a destiny long denied?

As a "true key," Brooke begins to unlock a truth the council is desperate to bury. Driven by a thirst for discovery, Ryan and Brooke are propelled into a quest for answers, falling deeply in love along the way. They must quickly face the reality that discovery and truth often come with a harsh price.

This is an exceptionally well-told, character-driven slow-burn narrative, distinguished by its complex and captivating nature.

I received an ARC through "Booksprout", and I am voluntarily leaving an honest review.

Brooke is working on the archives, trying as always to be invisible. She's likes it that way. She was asked to be the scribe for the ceremony that was going to be taken place today. When she got there, she was ready to write her notes and begin the ceremony of the bonded pair. What happens next throws everything into a tailspin, the lead enforcer was able to grab her before she fell to the ground and instantly their bond cemented. This was never to happen, and it shook the council to its core. Ryan was considered a disgraced Alpha and he was an enforcer trying to do what was right, in his mind's eye.

He felt the connection as soon as she did, the bond that was not supposed to be put in place...or was it

She was a true key, and what she was discovering was something the council wanted to be kept hidden. So Ryan and her went on this discovery to find out the truth. Down that road, they fell in love. Truth and discovery can be a bitter pill.

This was a slow burn story, character driven very complex. A very good storytelling.

She’s just a file number. A tool to justify an end.

This is a deep dark sci-fi, wolf omegaverse without aliens or shifting. Brooke is a simple omega who likes her life in the Archive department. She has a talent for being able to decipher archived documentation and their true meanings. When she discovers files about her mother, she finds she has been bred for this talent like fourteen others before her. The council are some real dirty, narcissists, low down and power hunger low lives, that attempt to get Brooke bonded to an alpha the council can control, only her talent has her bonding with a rogue alpha. That was not in anyone’s plan. Ryan, the rogue alpha and Brooke start a treacherous plan to take the council down. It seems the council is always a step ahead of Ryan and Brooke. Is it even possible to take down an organization that has been doing such nasty things to omegas? Both Ryan and Brooke decide they will die trying.

An interesting story featuring Brooke, a Truth Key and Ryan, an enforcer that is tasked with protecting her. A mating ceremony for another couple misfires and bonds Brooke and Ryan. It must be fate. The Council doesn’t want them together, so they have to run in order to stay safe. There is danger at every turn. There is suspense, chemistry, spice, and adventure. The characters are well written, and you root for the couple to succeed. It’s a wonderful, original story. 3.5 stars

My guilty pleasure is absolutely fated mates wolf shifter stories. This one is exactly that. There were some aspects I thought repeated itself quite a bit and we really harped a lot on something’s that I thought were previously handled, but would be brought back up, all in all I gave a 3.5 & rounded up. It was a good read that I was able to get through with 2-3 sit downs of reading.

Loved that this is a story of 2 people who are thrown together by a magical fluke. Brooke’s life has been planned since before she was born but fate of a magical glitch has put it back in her contract. The focus on her having a choice in mate and life generally is perfect even when everything seems to be working against the. Well done!

I thought this book was ok. I really liked the concept of the book but the execution was just off for me. There were points where it was repetitive in a weird way. It seemed like the wolf aspect was an afterthought also. The mention of them being wolves could have been taken out and it would not have changed anything. I like Brooke and Ryan as a couple and how he would give her anything. It was worth the read.

Claimed by Her Rogue Alpha was an addictive, drama-filled romance perfect for any romance lover.

The alpha is possessive, broody, and complicated, while the omega is a strong intelligent woman that can hold her own. From the beginning, their chemistry is palpable.

The story is about fated mates and pack politics. Century old secrets are unveiled.

A quick read that left me wanting more

This was a great story. Loved the way the ancient magic bonded them. It shouldn’t have but it did. And the way they fought to stay together was awesome. Seeing the council want to tear them apart and the way they fought to stay together. Just a really great read.

Ancient Magic
Brooke and Ryan are bound by ancient magic. It shouldn’t have happened. But it did. And now they’ll fight to make sure they are never separated, allowed to exist and to love.

powerful

Powerful story that slowly builds to a loud righteous “NO”. No to manipulation, control, designation of a life not your own.
