This omnibus nearly wraps up the anime adaptation, leaving us before the last few minutes of Episode 13. Besides this series having a very special place in my heart, the manga is definitely going to come and live aside the anime in that place. Once again, we have a very eventful and enjoyable experience that was hard to put down, and a faster pace that kept things more engaging this time around.
The Smoky Mansion arc is the standout here, with great attention to detail and intensity. I liked how one scene was completely different here for a better explanation of a motive and how events following this reveal are different compared to the anime adaptation. But I'm still curious about the Karoku situation that is revealed to us. Let's see if the manga will be able to answer this, since the anime couldn't.
I also liked the bonus stories, since they were super cute, heartwarming, and funny. Touya Mikanagi's art is still super gorgeous, and looking at more of the Drama CD comics, I start to notice how she draws the seiyuus with similar characteristics as the characters they play, which is pretty cool.
I'm going to be taking a break from this series since I'm requesting it through my local library's Interlibrary Loan system, which requires that the product in question be released 6 months prior to the request date (Omnibus 4 is almost there), but I hope that when I pick it up again, I'll be able to experience the magic that is Karneval in general. I can't wait for more adventures!
