All books in the Deanna Madden romantic thriller series are stand-alones, but most enjoyed if read in order:
Book 1: The Girl in 6E
Book 2: Do Not Disturb
Book 3: If you Dare
In Deanna Madden, book 1 and 2 we followed Deanna Madden three years after she cocooned herself in apartment 6E. Independently wealthy working for webcam company as Jessica Reilly, a student and sex kitten, her carefully structured life was prompted by her phobia that she was a danger to society.
That fear stemmed from the gruesome circumstances in which she lost her whole family. She had accepted her solitary existence until she encountered villains that had to be dealt with, setting her on dangerous and suspenseful missions taking on a bad guys and fighting for survival while soothing her urges to kill.
If You Dare (book 3) is the continued journey picking up seven months after book 2’s ending. Deanna is progressing and regressing at the same time and this time she has a mystery to solve that is putting her life as she knows into jeopardy. She is forced to step out of her comfort zone, face fears, stand up for herself and outsmart enemies daring to cross her.
Deanna Madden wrapped herself around my heart in book 1. She is still a mixture of strong, smart bad ass heroine, vulnerable, lonely girl, captivating vixen and the more mature Deanna we see emerging.
Ten words to describe Deanna: Bad-ass, smart, brave, perceptive, organized, loyal, responsible, broken, captivating and evolving.
If You Dare, told mainly from Deanna’s POV, but sprinkled with side characters, is a glued-to-your-book page-turner. For me the best book in the series thus far in fact it’s the best book Alessandra has ever written! I was absolutely captivated by Deanna, her growth and her challenges. I cannot wait to this story on the big screen.
In many ways I got more than expected, more than I could ever have hoped for with all the possibilities ahead. But with gain comes sacrifices and pain. Deanna’s life is by no means normal nor will it ever be perfect. But it is my hopes that this journey she embarked on a year ago or so will heal her and give her love, peace and happiness,
I applaud Alessandra for taking risks in this book. The ending kept me on the edge of my seat... Not everything will pan out as expected yet it was profoundly appropriate, bittersweet and very Deanna Madden. I expect there will be more books up ahead.
Suspenseful and captivating plot! Spellbinding story-telling! Unforgettable bad ass heroine who tugs at your heart! There you have it! Now I dare you to read it, just buckle up.

Deanna our adorable and lovable serial killer finds two detective knocking on her door. She knows she is guilty of many things but fails to ask the ever important questions...”why are you here? What do you think I’ve done?”
But more importantly where is Jeremy? And why won’t he pick up her calls?
This is book three of the Deanna Madden series. I have torn through this series like no other and am heartbroken to reach the end.
Though this last book lacked the heat of the first two it delved a bit deeper into Deanna herself and her love for Jeremy.
The ending is left with just a small open crack that there may be another book on the horizon.🙏🏼
I hope so! I need more of Deanna! And what about Jeremy? Is this the end of the road for him...for them? Maybe love doesn’t conquer all.😢
Once again the narrator Jorjeana Marie did a fabulous job bringing A. R. Torre’s characters to life.
I highly recommend this series! Definitely start at the beginning! And if you enjoy audio...definitely choose that option.🎧

I absolutely love this original, dark and twisty series. Deanna Madden, the self-imprisoned cam girl with killer impulses living in Apartment 6E is an amazingly layered heroine who I just adore. I wished for happy life for a girl who has been through so very much and continues to struggle with her thoughts. The assortment of characters in this series were so very well thought out and all play an important role in Deanna’s small circle. Deanna’s actions never failed to completely blindside me and I read a lot of dark books.
This third and I hope NOT final book is no exception to gifting a clever and twisted plot that is action packed and really hard to put down. The story is told in multiple POVs as Deanna has awoken on her apartment floor with a head injury. Thereafter, police come to question her about an attempted murder charge.
”I’m pleading guilty because I believe, regardless of what did happen to ?????, that I may no longer be able to control myself.”
Right up until the moment Deanna confesses to a crime she may not have committed she had been struggling with having the normal things that being with a man like Jeremy could provide.
"My love for him is selfish and wishful. His love for me is pure and naive."
Deanna also maintains strong relationships with Mike (who I think may get her best of all- still I love Jeremy too) and her slick telephone doctor, Doctor Derek. All men play pivotal roles in this final book.
”You don’t fuck with my people: I will fight you to your death to protect them, I will climb buildings to kill you slowly over a drop of their blood.”
The action takes off from several shocking developments while the madness, bloodlust and Deanna’s kickass yet emotionally vulnerable personality guides us to a final conclusion.
”When I open my eyes, I am the girl I never wanted to be but have been for a long time. I am the madness, the demon, the insanity.”
The story has a very realistic ending that very much works for these characters and this plot. However, I’m left kind of heartbroken over the emotional ending and would love to read more about these characters. This is an exceptional series that I highly recommend for fans of dark reads!

It starts like all of the others we have heard as children with ...
Once upon a time...
There were two women who would cross paths...
Both were brilliant, both were cunning...
And both would come together and experience greatness...
It may have caused many to wonder, who came first...Alessandra or Deanna. Who was the strongest in this relationship?
But not to worry...for both fed off each other and a series was born.
It all started with the concept of a woman/child living a horror at an impressionable age. She was old enough to understand what was happening but not mature enough to know she wouldn't be just like them, too. She was just the right age to see and take matters into her own hands, doing what was necessary to stop what she could.
It left a stain on her heart and the spot was never cleansed from her soul. It was the fear of the apple never falls far from the tree which caused our gal to lock herself up in the six-floor tower, never to leave.
Now, this was a modern time story so brilliant minds of both, Deanna and Alessandra, worked together... using the Internet and streaming video to provide the coin for Deanna's creature comforts. She had a system and it worked for many years but like all Fairy Tales, Princes and Trolls always become part of the story.
Our first Prince was locked in his own world, too...but he became a devotee of our Deanna. He worked his magic on keyboards and Webs...making her safe and being her friend. They had a special bond and they would always be there for each other in their own unusual way.
Deanna had specific rules to make sure she keeps all safe...and one of those rules made her need the troll down the hall. She fed the troll his special pills to keep him in line; it was a relationship not to be ignored.
The best and worst happened when the Prince of Brown Trucks came knocking at her door. Many times it had happened and many times the same words passed from their lips... but this one time they met and more than words were said... their eyes talked volumes and Deanna's Armor cracked.
Alessandra would write and bring wonder to all involved. She would have Deanna sense things happening in the outside world...knowing she had the means to stop innocents from being hurt. It was just the genius of Torre to drive the need of Deanna to handle all with clarity.
The drive and will of both...made this team so strong a second life was given and once again, these two took on all comers with the surety of avenging dark angels.
Which brings us to, If You Dare, this third entry, provided to us by Torre. This is not a Fairy Tale. This is a type of puzzle which has trap doors and mazes to watch for. It has suspense tightly threaded throughout this psychological tale. False doors are opened leading you to one conclusion only to turn you to another.
It is these two, Deanna Madden and Alessandra Torre, at their best.
So, I have really told you nothing about If You Dare... except it has all of the telltale marks of their creators; and if you think Deanna will be resting peaceably...off to be quiet on her own without her partner in crime, Alessandra ...Think again. For these two, like characters in our most beloved Fairy Tales, have ways of reinventing themselves over time.

I love him for a hundred reasons that are paper thin, an illusion I’ve created and he’s bought into. He is my finest Jess Reilly moment and he has no idea. He is my knight in shining armor made of tinfoil. I cannot be rescued; there is no Happily Ever After because, at the end of all this, Cinderella isn’t allowed to kill the prince.

Deanna, our favourite murderess and cam girl has been arrested for
But she still has doubts lurking in her mind about her innocence because she hasn’t let her bf or therapists know how bad her thirst for violence and blood has gotten.🩸
She needs to get to the bottom of this so-called dark crime she’s being charged with before she ends up with a maximum of twenty to thirty years sentence.
ok, so the end got me giving it 4 stars🌟- it was great… perfect, really. I love how Deanna grows a lot throughout the series but at the same time, still seems immature and even more bloodthirsty. I love that she didn’t magically change. I hate serial killer books that end that way. It’s boring 😴
I enjoyed reading more about her connections with Mike, her hacker client turned bestie and Doctor Derek, her non sexual therapist. It was impressive to see how their characters were fleshed out in this third book in series.
as usual, I had smmmm fun with D’s inner monologues. sarcastic, witty, unpredictable and always had me at the edge of my literary seat throughout the book.
my only tiny complaint was that the descriptions of scenes and characters and actions was a bit repetitive and it was painfully obvious, aside from that, this was the perfect end to an amazing thriller series which I recommend because I do wish I can read it again for the first time. I’d root for Deanna’s sick self all over again 😌🖤

If You Dare is the third book in the Deanna Madden Series. In If You Dare, Deanna shocks us once again with her flair for blood, desire for love, and unending quest for normalcy.
"I AM NOT a normal individual. I've known that for quite some time."-Deanna
One year after Do Not Disturb and Deanna has finally found a slice of happiness with Jeremy. Although she recognizes she will never have the entire pie, she is able to find a steady routine that keeps her illness under control. She has maintained a friendship with Mike and sustained her routine therapy sessions with Dr. Derek. Just when we think everything might just turn out alright for our devilish heroine, in true Deanna style, everything comes crashing down.
"I love him because he looks at me like I am normal."-Deanna
"My love for him is selfish and wishful. His love for me is pure and naive."-Deanna
Deanna must find the inner strength to recognize exactly "who she is" and "who she can never be". However strong her love for Jeremy "might" or "might not be", she is forced to reconcile the delicate balance between love and reality.
"I'm sorry that my heart is black and I didn't let you see that until now."-Deanna
Told in multiple POV, If You Dare is a stunning addition to this series. The text is thick with tender emotion, action, and wicked sex! Deanna is a complex character and to experience her interactions with her "friends" and "neighbors" is like nothing you have ever experienced before. Deanna's inner monologue will keep you laughing, crying, and cringing from one beat to the next. Each moment is sequenced with ease as the story shifts between the present and the past. The anticipation of not knowing what happened until the very end will keep you glued to the text. The dynamics between the tender moments are such a stark contrast to the blood lust Deanna experiences throughout the read. This causes any "normal individual" to struggle with the knowledge of knowing "what you want for Deanna" but also knowing "what is best for Deanna". However hard I tried to come to terms with that central question, the result was always the same. Deanna is unique and powerful creature and she will never be held down by any person or thing.

What is most notable about the Deanna Madden Series is the relationships between Deanna and the three men in her life. Throughout each book in the series we have been witness to the growth Deanna and three men. Her friend Mike, Dr. Derek, and Jeremy. Each individual plays a significant role in her life. I have adored every second of this series and If You Dare only strengthened my love for Deanna and my addiction to escaping to her world.
"The madness in me, it is pushing, stretching, filling my body down new and unique paths, my skin growing accustomed to its heat, it's darkness."-Deanna
Overall, If You Dare is a must read for readers who love a suspenseful erotic thriller! If you are willing to live beyond the fringe, Deanna will take you there. Alessandra Torre is a brilliant author who never fails to amaze me. Her writing style is diverse, unique, and rich with description. I simply devoured this read and I can only hope that there will be more to come for Deanna. I am rooting for her. I will never stop rooting for her!

Deanna Madden is back as the camgirl/killer whose heart may not be as black as she thinks it is, in the last (or is it?) of this excellent trilogy! This time around, Deanna finds herself in some hot water when the police come around, asking her questions about her whereabouts one recent evening. The problem is, Deanna doesn’t fully remember that night. With Jeremy not responding to her calls, she’s not sure how to go about getting answers. With the police digging around, it soon becomes clear that Deanna may end up in the last place a gal with her urges should be in. If only she never broke all of her own rules...
I won’t spoil it for anyone who hasn’t read this series yet.
LOVED IT! It was so entertaining to go back into Deanna’s world, and it was a treat to see some other familiar faces (or read them)...the few people who have some sort of relationship with Deanna that goes beyond a 10-minute “get on and get off” session. The ending is very bittersweet...Everything leading to it makes sense, but you still might not be for it. If anyone decides to read this series and gets to this one, make sure you read the author’s note at the end. It gives us some hope that this might not be the last we read of Deanna’s journey.

Deanna Madden attempted to live a normal life by having a boyfriend and going outside of her apartment more often on dates with her man Jeremy Pacer. She wanted a happy life, she wanted a “normal” life and Jeremy made her happy and made her want this life. This book takes place a year after book two; after the crazies happened and now Deanna has worked on being a good girl.
Jeremy Pacer had also fallen in love with Deanna. He knew she had issues but didn’t care to find out; however on this book he wanted to get more serious he wanted more of Deanna no matter the price. A word that was so simple but yet impossible with the broken girl he had fallen in love with. He made her happy and she made him happy. Their silence was their happiness.
I love Deanna’s personality the crazy and the one that didn’t wanted to be a psychopath. She truly tried; she fell in love with someone but she wasn’t honest with him and later on she discovers that she couldn’t possibly love someone and not being one hundred percent honest. She finds herself mixed with flashbacks and not a memory of what happened on that ugly Sunday night. Murder, Lies, Detectives, Blood, Crime Scene and everything points her as the suspect. I was so confused and conflicted trying to figure out what happened I couldn’t stopped reading this madness. However; in the midst of all I loved how Deanna handled everything her love for the only people that cared for her was amazing. She would do anything for them.
And for the very same reason that she loved she knew that in order to protect her love one she had to let go because there was only darkness sounding her and she didn’t want them to hurt any more. I was a mess of mush because I understood her but couldn’t help hurting for her and for what it could never be.
We get to see Mike in action on this book, he was amazing. I honestly can say he surprised me and I was so excited to see him moved his pieces of action it was amazing. I would love to have a Mike in my life that would go the extra mile to protect me. I also think Mike would be a perfect match for Deanna he knows everything about her and accepts her exactly like she is like no one else would.
When Dr. Derek made his appearance on this book; I about flipped out of my chair like holy hell yes. Even thought we didn’t get to see much of him on this book he showed himself and I loved those parts; He cared for Deanna and wanted to help her. But I felt on cloud nine imagining his entrance and walking with confidence towards her. Damn him! Lol
All the pieces to the puzzle were put perfectly together at the end. Overall this book was amazing; a freaking brilliant conclusion to this series. I sure hope there is more to come because I just can’t get enough of Deanna. This was twisted, with unexpected events, and packed full of action. I was on the edge of my seat the entire time I couldn’t stop reading it. I was so conflicted, I had anger, I was so scared, worried, I cried a river right at 95% of the book but I survived and I loved the ride. This book was everything I look for in a book and more. I love a good detective, murder, investigation book and this had it all.

If You Dare is the third book in the Deanna Madden series. This book took me on a wild ride, this wide ride has a name and it’s Deanna Madden. I can say without a doubt that these three books are unlike any other series I've ever read. The story is dark, twisted and riddled with violence and you know what? I LOVED IT!
Deanna and Jeremy take their relationship a step further, both confessing their love for one another. The thing is, Deanna has not told Jeremy about her dark desires to kill. Just when things start heating up between them, Jeremy asks Deanna to meet his sister. Deanna freaks at this and their relationship takes a turn in the wrong direction. A bit later on in the story, something horrific happens to Jeremy leaving Deanna believing it was her fault. Deanna finds herself in deep trouble and the only one who can help is Mike. This part of the story was extremely exciting for me, I loved every moment. Once Deanna figures out who is responsible for Jeremy’s predicament, she sets out for vengeance. Does she get her vengeance? Does Jeremy pull through? Does Deanna get away? If you want the answers to these questions, you’re just going to have to read the book for yourself.
If you have already read The Girl in 6E and Do Not Disturb and enjoyed them, I HIGHLY recommend you buy and read If You Dare, I promise you will not be disappointed.

Almost a year has passed since Deanna Madden first attempted to live a normal life. She experienced the life she always wanted – not fully, but enough to make her realize what she had been missing. But just as she thought normalcy could be a reality, the sins of her past caught up to her and made her question what she truly deserved.
If there’s one thing I would expect from Deanna Madden series is, it packs a punch and this book certainly punched you in the face, and damn it feels good!
Deanna will always be my favorite female character by Alessandra Torre. It’s just hard not to love her. She’s such a kick-ass character with a weakness/vulnerability that could go either way. She had evolved since she was first introduced in the first book, by learning to accept who she was and letting people into her life.
Jeremy brought out all the good things within her. He tried very hard to make everything alright but may not be necessarily best for her.
I have always love Mike since the very beginning and in this book, I love him even more than I could ever imagine.
If You Dare focuses on the people closest to Deanna – her anchors - and how they handled her and themselves in dire situations. The story would put you at the edge of your seat begging for more.

The masterful storyteller strikes again. If You Dare is the 3rd book in the Deanna Madden series. This series is suspense and intrigue and darkness at its finest.
I can’t tell you how many times I have wanted to transport myself into Deanna’s apartment and just hug her and love her and tell her that she can “have normal”. I believe that Deanna Madden is a psychotherapist’s dream. There are so many facets to Deanna……….her personality and her actions could be dissected for days, weeks, and definitely months. She is beyond strong but she is so very isolated in her own darkness that even when the light, aka Jeremy Pacer, tries to enter, she only allows the light to peek in so it never fully takes over the darkness. Deanna’ psychiatrist, Derek, has tried to help but can one really help when your sessions are done over the phone? And then there is Mike, Deanna’s techie that keeps her safe and isolated. Jeremy, Derek, and Mike are all champions of Deanna in one form or another but they all have some sort of disconnect as well. It’s such a tangled web the author weaves………its utter perfection!! I can’t forget to mention Simon…..he serves a purpose but he’s not a champion.
We know that Deanna goes to jail but why is the question. I won’t tell you anything more because to do so would be to spoil the journey. The journey is one that keeps you breathless at times, makes you sad at times, has you rooting at times and mostly it is one that makes you feel all of the time. A.R. Torre knows how to weave a brilliant story and add just the right amount of twists and turns to keep you captivated.
I will say that the ending took awhile to sink in for me. As I discussed with others, talked about what had happened, I decided that the ending was in fact perfect (for me). As whenever I open a book by this amazing author, I go into a book hangover where her books just affect my psyche for a few days. Her writing is visual and detailed and completely mesmerizing.
If you have read the first 2 books, get ready for a wickedly dastardly ride and if you haven’t read the first 2 in the series- GO GO GO and one click The Girl in 6E and Do Not Disturb. I promise that this series does not and will not disappoint.

It's 2:40am, I just finished this book. My emotions are all over the place, my hands are shaking from adrenaline, I think my left eye is going temporarily blind from sitting in front of a screen for so long, and I can't feel my ass cheeks anymore.
I do not regret a second I spent reading this.
This book was fucking phenomenal. It was so up my alley I would not change a single damn thing about it.
If you went into this series thinking that Deanna Madden, a secluded psychopath who's hell bent on killing, and has in fact killed people will meet a man, get some therapy, re-evaluate her ways and have a HEA. You are in for one big surprise.
Now I didn't necessarily think there would be a HEA or any redemption for the heroine, but I did expect some sort of happy romantic progression I guess? I've read many similar series that include unstable, psychotic characters falling in love and sorta having fucked up endings, but at least they ended in a relationship, you know? I was so used to it, I just assumed it would end that way in the Deanna Madden series.
In the previous books everything was much more predictable and textbook if that makes sense. Deanna clearly wants to kill. It just so happens there is a very bad person that needs to die and a super innocent victim that needs saving. So she satisfies the urge meanwhile coming out the hero. We got to read a dark ass book with a psychotic main character and still retain all our moral high grounds. Everyone is disturbed and happy.
This book? In this book Deanna shows all her colours, she spits in our faces and shows us just how naive we all were. You think she killed all those horrible people -that true, deserved death- because she was trying to be a hero? HA, she killed them because she wanted to. Because it made her feel giddy and blood thirsty. Because it was the only thing that brought her the ultimate satisfaction. She is selfish, dangerous, unstable and unpredictable. And it ended in the PERFECT WAY to show us all the gritty truth about Deanna. It was bittersweet and so satisfying for my little masochistic heart.

It's not a love story but I felt the love through the various relationships lining the pages of this book. It's a story that essentially needs to unravel as the reader experiences the narrative. What I can divulge is that it's spine tingling, heart stopping and chilling, and offer a flavour of what to expect from the third in this erotic suspense series.
Deanna Madden is broken, some would say irreparably, with issues that to the sane of mind are unfathomable. Her webcam career is a lifestyle choice, one she enjoys and needs. If You Dare showcases the results when the crazy in Deanna's life is magnified, when it goes beyond the constraints of her control. It explores the consequences of her unique, crazy, outrageous and endearing mind. This is her story, her journey through life with struggles, limitations and decisions that may or may not be right.
There are poignant memories from the first two books weaved into the prose aiding our sympathies and feelings towards Deanna and the supporting characters. I experienced both the expected and the unexpected. There are OH-MY-Goodness-WHAT-JUST-HAPPENED moments, moments you may not believe, moments that cause reflection on the trials and tribulations of Deanna's life, moments that caused my heart to ache.
The key players presented in the first two Deanna Madden stories also make an appearance in If You Dare, helping to shape the story arc and provide an engaging continuation to the telling... Mike's dry sense of humour, his support and care, Derek's aura that made me want to know him more, and sweet Jeremy who owns my book heart for devotion to his girl, whether she deserves it or not. The character motivation drives the story telling, remaining truthful and authentic throughout.
A combination of first and third person narrative is used with multiple perspectives of the cast, enhancing the pace, tension and suspenseful nature of the story telling. Deanna's perspective is the only character told in first person which dramatically showcases her inner thoughts allowing the reader a front row seat to the depths of her mind, her depravity and, most importantly, her vulnerabilities.
I loved solving my thoughts regarding this story, working out what happened in the past, but never quite knowing the full account of how it would all play out until the very last moments. The visually rich descriptions teemed with the pace of the story create the perfect suspenseful ambiance with plot points and climatic situations occurring at the most effective moments making If You Dare a 5 star read and one I highly recommend to fans of the erotic suspense genre.
NOTE: Each Deanna Madden book can be enjoyed as a standalone but for the perfect reading experience they should be read in order as there is a continuing story arc running throughout.

5 "More F*ckin' Bacon" STARS
Well my favourite crazy kick ass heroine returns for another round battling her demons, those she loves, those she loves to hate and just about any one else that gets in her way.
Deanna Madden is truly a captivating, unpredictable and mind boggling heroine. If any woman can keep me on my toes, it's her.
"I am freed yet hunted..."
I wondered how I was going to write this review without giving anything away because you must experience this dark, dangerous and delicious journey first hand.
"I am falling apart in a thousand different ways. The madness in me, it is pushing, stretching, filling my body down new and unique paths, my skin growing accustomed to its heat, its darkness..."
Again, Deanna finds herself faced with trouble - it just seems to effortlessly find her - and she's got all her men with her for the ride: smart, witty and hot sidekick, Mike; mysterious Dr. Derek and of course; sweet and sexy Jeremy.
She continues to struggle with going 'red' at the slightest thing because she knows it'll unleash the insatiable bloodthirsty demon inside of her...
Yet there are moments when she realizes she has more control than she thinks. Perhaps this is progress? But this are no limits or lengths that she won't go to protect those she loves or avenge a wrong that has been done.
This isn't a love story. There's love and friendship and even good in this tale but it's also emotional, dark and at times, there's despair. For someone like Deanna, there may never really be a HEA but AT gives us as good as it can realistically get knowing that Deanna can be selfless and kind despite all the malevolence she tries to fight. While this was the third book in this series, I sure hope this isn't the end and that I get to meet Deanna again.

I am left stunned and speechless and without the ability to write a proper review. As I write this, I am still at a loss on what to say. In sharing with you what 'If You Dare' is about, and what makes me love it so much, I need to be careful as it would be easy to spoil this book. I have to say I was a bit skeptical to read this, because I felt like 'Do Not Disturb (Deanna Madden, #2)' ended perfectly and didn't need a follow-up book. It's a damn good thing Torre is the author and not me, because we would have missed out! A. R. Torre's writing is captivating, engaging, and packs an emotional punch.
I can always count on Torre to push my boundaries, to make me uneasy, to mess with my mind and to make me question what the hell is wrong with me that I feel empathy for her characters. 'If You Dare' was no exception. Told in multiple POV's as well the past and present, and in two parts, I admit I was confused for easily the first half of the book. But it isn't because the writing was confusing, it was because the story is structured in such a way that you don't get all of the information at one time. I had so many questions and theories swirling in my head. I was held in suspense for a great deal of the book as we bounce between past and present, eating up the pieces of breadcrumbs Torre would leave.
Deanna Madden is still in a relationship with Jeremy, still living in her apartment and still dealing with the demons that haunt her nights, when one morning she awakens on the floor without memory of the events that occurred the night before.
Jeremy Pacer knows he loves Deanna, knows she has issues but craves for the normalcy of a relationship. Deanna craves that, too, to be normal, to be able to be the kind of girlfriend Jeremy deserves. But they both know that can't happen. There isn't anything normal about her.
❝There was a strong possibility he was in love with a psychopath.❞
Deanna doesn't have anyone other than Jeremy. He is the only other person she has ever loved in her life besides her family. Their relationship may not be normal, but it is real and it is something that Deanna cherishes and is fiercely protective over. Jeremy doesn't treat her or look at her like the psychopath she is, he sees more. Or is blinded to that fact, either way it doesn't matter. Because she needs him.

In 'If You Dare', both characters experience personal growth. As Deanna struggles to reign in her thoughts and desires, she gains tremendous insight. Jeremy takes on more of a dominant role than the passive role we had seen from him in the previous books. He begins to seek out what he wants from Deanna, as well, he holds her accountable.
Until he can't.
I have one warning for you *DO NOT READ SPOILER REVIEWS* in fact, stay away from reviews. Spoilers happen, sometimes purposefully and sometimes accidentally, and this is a book that demands you go in blind. Which is why I am not saying much about the plot.

Deanna Madden’s story continues in book 3 of the series and as soon as the first word is consumed, the action and tension starts to build. From the beginning, Deanna seems a bit more doubtful about her circumstance and struggles more with her past and present. Before Jeremy entered her life, Deanna always knew she lived in an abnormal fashion, but now her present is starting to demand more “normalcy” and once Deanna recognizes that she is still so burdened by her past, she starts to realize she cannot be someone’s present or future.
Deanna’s grasp on her condition and decisions is tenuous at best. In order to be viewed as a normal girlfriend, she must compartmentalize, lie and ultimately deceive Jeremy. The resulting problem is that Jeremy really still doesn’t know the true Deanna so the question is how much can their relationship really grow? What ensues is an unexpected path that Jeremy and Deanna must take in order to make these crucial decisions. As their lives spiral due to the dark consequences of their relationship, Deanna’s life as a contradiction is spotlighted. The ominous fact looming is that Deanna cannot continue living her life without paying for her poor choices and naïve limitations.
In addition to Jeremy’s role as the boyfriend, Mike is still an ever-present comrade in Deanna’s life and remains the only person who really knows the true Deanna. But what remains again is an imbalanced relationship because Mike is still shielding his truth from her. Mike is an endearing and clever character and I’m curious to see if their friendship can withstand all of Deanna’s madness.
For me, If You Dare is the best book of the series to date. I say that because we learned much more about all the key characters - Deanna, Jeremy, Mike and Dr. Derek! The alternating order of chapters between past and present provided dimension to the plot and character development while also serving to intensify the tension and pacing of action. While we generally knew what made Deanna tick, the integration of her past triggers underscored just how troubled she really is and provided more insight into her heart, mind and soul. Living locked in an apartment 24/7 is not the long-term solution for Deanna and I liked how that process was flushed out in this book. Lastly, we are introduced to new secondary characters that manage to further probe into Deanna’s psyche, as her interactions with them are quite insightful.
If You Dare had me on edge the entire time and I couldn’t stop wondering what in the world Deanna was going to do next! No one is off limits to Deanna! I highly recommend this book and series to those who want to delve into the psychosis of a mad woman.

Deanna Madden series is one of my favorite series ever, and is by far on the very top. That Girl in 6E have come a long way, and I have always been greedy for more of her. This is the third installment in the series and after reading Do Not Disturb, I can’t wait for November 2015 because I wanted more of her. But before I started reading, I was in trepidation. Call it gut instinct, or ‘knowing’ but for the first time ever, I was afraid of where A.R. Torre would take Deanna on her journey.
“I have learned one thing, and that is that I am dangerous.”
What enticed me to the series was the danger, the mystery, the intrigue. AT will keep you on the edge and in the dark, and there’s always only two emotions you would feel above all else: throw your reader because it is fucked up in every way or continue reading because damn, psychopaths are fun.
I am and forever will be #TeamJeremy. I’ve love him because he makes me giddy and makes my heart beat. Although I also have a sick fascination with Dr.Derek, I’d rather have him with his voice. I guess it was just the idea of mystery that made me fantasize about him. Mike, I love the guy, seriously. But it was akin to admiration and the knowledge that he will always be there for Deanna no matter what sicko ideas she have.
And Deanna, somehow for me, I’ve seen her evolved. She was a very complex character with a very complex character development. She still doesn’t believe in herself, but I was thinking otherwise. I’ve always love how her mind works. It was in a way that I describe that I will always think of killing someone, and she will always do kill someone. The only sick part about it is she will enjoy, jump with glee and have a fucking party if she can.
“Understand that there is a part of me that is broken and it can’t be fixed and it doesn’t want to be fixed. It is how I was made; it is how I will be until the day that I die.”
This has been one of the most emotional read for me. A roller coaster of emotions and a feeling of too much. I tried to be detached actually, but no matter, I can’t because it just sucked me in. Consumed me to the point of pain and heartache. I want to reread this and examine my feelings if it will be the same, I tried on a random page, and yes it still brings out what I felt the very first time I did lay my eyes on the words.
This book is a bittersweet read for me. It ended perfectly and all I can think is that Alessandra Torre is fucking brilliant! This is, by far, the best she have written. I mean who does that? It’s an ending I don’t really want but I accepted it as it is. But the sweet part for me is that there is hope. That somehow, Deanna’s journey may have just ended or maybe, a start of something new. Soul searching, perhaps. Or maybe that’s just wishful thinking.

Finally, I see a point to Jeremy's character 😌 This book was much more cleverly written than the last two, which had plots that were fairly straightforward. It kept me guessing and that's what I want in a thriller. Deanna.... she was so goddamn crazy in this. I mean obviously she's always been crazy, but the first half of this she was so irrational and unhinged it bordered on childish. When she got to jail tho... that's when I started to really respect her. (I'm not marking this part as spoiler bc it's in the blurb that she's locked up.) I swear if she was in there for longer she would've become the queen of prison, bc this bitch is just too crazy not to be. It really would've been like that scene in Scream Queens when Chanel Oberlin is in jail and practically runs the place.
As for the side characters, Mike solidified himself as MVP in this book I really want the world for him. He is the only one who knows Deanna fully and loves all sides of her, and is truly willing to risk it all. Derek the therapist..... I have a fantasy that in a twisted turn of events, Derek is just as crazy as her and watches her obsessively though her camming site and is secretly a dirty, dirty man beneath that disapproving, strait-laced veneer. Shhh 🤫 just let me have this ;)
As for the ending:

If You Dare is the third installment in A.R. Torre's dark/erotic thriller series titled Deanna Madden. I felt most connected to Deanna's character in this book for sure. She's scared and for the first time regretful - truly mortified at her actions. We get to see some of her history here: what happened to her mom and how Mike became so invested in helping her to name a few. We get to meet The uber-swoonworthy Dr. Derek OMG! And we get to witness her most inner conflict about who she is - good or evil - and what she is really capable of...the fragility Ms. Torre created in Deanna was breathtaking. The result of it all left me sad but very understanding of the direction the author chose to go in. I'm not mad at you Ms. Torre ❤️
The storyline in If You Dare alternates frequently from present to past...a recent past actually, one that Deanna can't remember. Lots of present-day consequences are in effect and Deanna is clueless. What happened??? Ms. Torre allows the reader to learn about what transpired right along with Deanna and there is certainly no immediate gratification. You have to wait for it. But it's a ride well worth taking and the suspense it creates is off the charts. Personally, this level of suspense gives me a stomachache and I'm not a huge fan of drawing it out just for the sake of it so I had to keep one star for a rainy day. But seriously, this one is a superb addition to an already amazing series. If you like adult-only dark thrillers and haven't picked up this series yet then seriously get on it! I would recommend starting at the beginning. Although Ms. Torre is generous with her backstories, there's no reason not to read them all. Check it out!!!

I don't even know where to start .... I'm too stunned by the brilliance.
Deanna Madden is one of the most complex, fascinating and incredibly disturbing characters that I've ever read. She is the ideal anti-hero. Her level of dysfunction is absolutely glorious. And I adore her! Her journey through this third installment of the series had me clutching my chest, clenching my jaw & wanting to close my eyes. I routed for her, even as she was condemning herself.
As fabulous as Deanna is, there is one other character from this series that I love. He captured my attention in book 1, secured a place in my heart in book 2 & in book 3 he proved my love was not misplaced. That’s right … move over Jeremy … Mike is my man! A nerdy computer hacker, with a filthy mouth, and who knows all your bad secrets but loves you anyway? Are you kidding me? He’s perfect! Deanna is seriously lucky to have a guy like this in her corner. But if she doesn’t want him, I know someone who’d be happy to take him. *raises hand
This book was more than I was expecting ... and yet, I feel grossly unsatisfied!
I just want MORE. I truly hope that Ms. Torre decides to continue the story … soon.

the ultimate goodbye and that is exactly how I feel about this book...
it was a journey that Alessandra Torre provided without a safety, I didn't have the chance to put on a seat belt either...it was a roller coaster ride at best
I was tossed around and bumped, guilt tricked into the false illusion of a chance for my kind of HEA...
BUT now that I do think on it more closely I have my own illusion of Deanna and Jeremy's relationship as an alternative in some other dimension...in some other lifetime
where the reasons of loving Jeremy that Deanna states would be true:
1)"I love him because he looks at me like I am normal."
2)"I love him because he has shown me a life outside of 6E."
3)"I love him because in our relationship, I see a normal future."
and the plain truth is, Deanna Madden is unique, she's free in her own personality or as she would put it simply:
"I am not normal."
BUT what does that actually mean?
yes, Deanna did what she did that is NOT under any circumstances considered socially acceptable BUT the need is controllable the urge is not...the DNA code is not, it's engraved and it's depraved, it's complex and simple at the same time...
and I think in the end, it is the right way to be for Deanna.
another brilliant thriller that stirs you towards the NO end as you might know it...
Alessandra Torre proved again why she is one of the top selling authors of all times...
she delivers the characterisation and the plot that drives you to act on instinct and then think on it more thouroghly after the thrill is gone and the facts are bare in front of you, you are re-thinking it all over again...and all you can do is NOD in appreciation.

Alessandra Torre has just become my new favourite author.
The story takes place 9 months after the last book, and If You Dare played me so good. It turned and tossed me in whichever direction it wanted me, however it wanted me, with my heart in my throat and praying that she did not kill Jeremy, and hopping that she didn’t.
Bravo! It actually made me believe that Jeremy was dead. There were talks of funeral and killers and guilty and being stabbed 6 times. Very good.
This isn’t about whether it’s true love. It’s about whether the love is true. And it’s not. My love for him is selfish and wishful. His love for me is pure and naïve. He may never wake up. But if he does, I won’t be here to break any other pieces of him. He doesn’t deserve that, not anymore. I’ve been too unfair to him as it is.
This story has a bitter sweet ending, and I’m surprisingly okay with it. I’d love if there would be another book, see where life takes Deanna next and if she will get her HEA.
I’m glad I’ve read this series and most likely I’ll read more by this author.

The conclusion to the Deanna Madden series was a tough one. I liked how the story ended and I really do think that it was the best way to finish with Deanna, even though it wasn't the conclusion that I had wanted. My problems came with the story that led to the end. I'm actually really sad that this didn't stay a five star series for me and that I had some issues with it.
In If You Dare Deanna's life is spiraling out of her control and handling her urges is getting more and more difficult. She not only has to deal with her demons but now has to handle the police who are after her for a crime she doesn't even remember committing. Is she losing that self control she so tightly held onto?
I have loved this story from the very beginning and both hated and loved Deanna. She is by far the most unique heroine I have ever read about and I'm sad to see her go. But with that being said, I was also a little disappointed with her in this last book. Her character seemed to change in this one and I didn't like how out of control she was. In the previous books she had at least some restraint and questioned her actions, while in this one she was just losing it all and going downhill fast.
The story kept going back and forth from the past with Deanna and Jeremy still trying to figure out their relationship to the present with the police questioning Deanna about a crime. It really shocked me when this started to happen because it never did this in the other books so it was completely unexpected. It went back and forth just too many times for me and it was getting a little frustrating. I think a few times would have added a lot of mystery to the story but after that it was too much and I wanted to know what the hell was going on.
All the past characters were present and I loved seeing them, especially her therapist who I wanted to know more about since the first book. It was very suspenseful and full of many questions that had me on the edge of my seat. Overall, I loved this series even though that last book was a little disappointing and everyone needs to read it! Some crazy shit happens in this series and you just need to read it to believe it.

Overall, I loved this series even though that last book was a little disappointing and everyone needs to read it! Some crazy shit happens in this series and you just need to read it to believe it.

Thought I'd have you pay attention first to my reading progress below when I was reading this.
Yup, that's the kind of ride Alessandra took me on with this third installment of this series!
Interestingly enough, I guess this is really like a standalone within the series just because of the focus on this book and the way the events were laid out, almost like an episode within a series, but please do NOT, do NOT, just read this. Yes, you have to read the series to get the full experience that is Deanna Madden.
To put into the context of the series, we now see Deanna after all the things she's done in the first 2 books. Her relationship with Jeremy is at the forefront now, with Deanna needing to take actions to move the relationship forward. But something happened.
Then the question became, did she or did she not???
Along the way, we got more glimpses of another friend who's been there for her since pretty much the start, and boy, did he deliver! Then we get more of the doctor. Did he really help at the end of it all? Not sure, but with the change in their interaction in this book, it definitely added another layer to their dynamics. Then there is of course Jeremy, the boyfriend...
Deanna and Jeremy were rarely together here and you'll know why. The story is laid out in interlocking past and present. It moves in such a fast pace that you'd think you'd get whiplashed but everything makes sense. Personally, I can't wait for the story to move according to the pace of my brain that it almost felt like I was reading in slow-mo. That's just crazy me.
And of course, the highlight of this all, Deanna Madden. She's kooky, she's funny, she's demented, she's neurotic, she's a good friend, she cares, she takes charge. Oh Deanna, Deanna...
Yes, there were some smokin' scenes, but really, this is more about the plot for me. Is this erotic romance enough? I guess, but like I said, to me, this has more of a suspense thriller feel. Even the ending didn't follow the traditional romance ending, so that alone should tell you something.
Luckily, I read somewhere that Alessandra will consider writing more about Deanna if the demand is there. So I say, demand, demand, demand... *grins* You keep taking me on Deanna's journey, Alessandra, I will be there. *insert maniacal laugh*

**4.5 Daring Stars**
I've said it before and I'll say it again...I've never met a heroine like Deanna Madden and I've read a lot of books. This series has been filled with twists and turns, suspense, sadness, chaos, murder, lust, sex. How can one book have it all? And Torre's writing was pure genius as always. The way she weaved this storytelling and wrapped it up was incredible, but I love how the ending isn't quite fully wrapped up. There's still a little opening there just in case Miss Torre gets an itch for a book 4 (and my fingers are crossed in hopes there will be one!). The imagery was beautiful and it didn't take much for me to be once again immersed into the mind of the isolated Deanna Madden. There's so many facets to Deanna. One minute she's hell and the next minute she's compassionate. She's tried "normal" but it's just not in the cards for her. How can I like Deanna so much when she's proven to be so wrong?

The final book in my Deanna Madden journey. It's been fun. I'll miss the girl in 6E. I thought the first book was incredible, but each book in the trilogy got a little less so for me. I'd still recommend the series overall. A good erotic thriller trilogy is hard to find.

Deanna Madden is the most unpredictable heroine I’ve met. The trill of not knowing what’s going on in her mind is always exciting. If you dare is the 3rd book of the Deanna Madden Series. And by far, this is the best part for me.
Deanna tries to be a normal girlfriend to Jeremy. Though most of the time she thought Jeremy deserves someone who is normal and who doesn’t have a past that challenges her sanity every day.
The ever-dependable Mike works his computer know-how here. His sense of humor will certainly make you smile and lighten some tension filled situation.
What I also enjoy in this book is the flashback scenes from the time when Deanna’s just a normal teenager spending time with her sibling, Summer & Trent. You can just feel the longing of Deanna when she thinks of those times and how much she misses her family.
When reading a book by A.R. Torre an open-mind is necessary for it will certainly challenge your thought of thinking. That's how freaking good the writing is.Deanna Madden will be one of those women whose name you won’t easily forget. Book-hangover? Definitely!!!
