I must have missed that this was going to have a sequel, because NOOOOOOOOO.

That said, it definitely needed one as set up and I am fully here for the grovel, so I will be waiting eagerly for that second book.

This worked for me really well. I liked the aspects of exploration, both sexual and personal. I liked who they were together and I like that she left when she did and I love that he waited until he figured out that this was what he needed to come back. It was good.

Kate hadn't been in Paris long she was there in holidays takin a break from life back in New York her art was everything an c'mon to a beautiful city like Paris would give her inspiration an great places to draw things but one mornin in a cafe get her coffee her bag got robbed start the trip of not good but when a gorgeous very handsome man brought her her coffee she was shocked once they got talkin an she told him what she was doin he offered to be her tour guide I would so take him up on his he is so hot Kate finds herself sayin to Rylan there is a pull between the to of them an Rylan isn't used to this an Kate didn't expect meetin anyone she was there to sort her head out but they got on well an they decided to see each other again there was something there that needed to b explored



I did find this book a lil slow at the start then it picked up again an then slow again I found it didn't keep my attention in parts where it was slow the story was good I liked the character I did Kate a bit whiney in parts I know the men that had been in her life had been arseholes so her guard was up with Rylan as well but he did seem nice an definitely hot they had a great time together but her guard was alway up but that didn't matter to Rylan she was worth it an he would just show her how gorgeous an beautiful she wasnt very experienced in bed her past partners had never satisfied her so she was a lil worried when it came to Rylan but he promised to take things slow but the sexual tension was so strong an Rylan didn't care about takin it slow the feelings he was havin for her made things different for him



This did end on a cliffy but not really a bad one it did make me wantin more which was good cause I wasnt sure about how it would end an I didn't know there was goin to more but I do want to know how things go with these to an I want to know more about Rylan's life feel like there is still loads to know about his life hope we don't have to wait to long xxx

"Seven Nights to Surrender" followed the story of budding artist Kate and the secretive and intriguing Rylan. Kate was on a trip to Paris all by herself when she bumped into Rylan, who then promised a tour of the many famous sights. However one night together sightseeing soon turned into many nights as the couple embarked on a sizzling hot romance.

His pulse roared. He wanted her like this, naked and laid out for him, all right. But he wanted the rest of it, too. He wanted more.

I easily became swept up in this deliciously romantic story which was set in such a beautiful city. I eagerly watched the development of Rylan and Kate's relationship with anticipation. The pair appeared to be so well suited to one another and the more I discovered about Rylan and Kate, the more I realised how perfect they were together and that they both had something in common... a fear of what their future held. Unlike Kate, who was quite open about her future concerns, Rylan was a bit of a mystery. I knew that he was hiding something but I had no idea what it was. As I continued, I was actually pleasantly surprised by Rylan. I had expected him to be a closed off, brooding alpha, however I soon realised that this was not the case. Although Rylan was closed off at the beginning of his relationship with Kate, he did begin to open up and I saw a deeply romantic and passionate man who was so obviously falling in love.

But in a few short days, this girl had wound herself around him, and there wasn't any point denying it. He'd sunk his teeth in too. When it was over, it was going to bleed.

I have to say one of the things I enjoyed most about this story was the setting. I've never been to Paris before, but now having read and fallen in love with this story, I think that I may just have to take a trip there myself. Maybe I will find my own Rylan whilst I'm there. I wish! Lol. If you are in the mood for some Parisian romance, I recommend one-clicking this book.

She saw him too fondly. In a light he didn't deserve. From the scraps of his messed up, cobbled-together life, she'd made something beautiful.

This was my first book from Jeanette Grey and I was truly impressed. This author has created a charming story with characters that I found easy to love. I am wholeheartedly invested in Rylan and Kate's story and although I did find parts of it to be a little slow paced, I will definetly be continuing with the series. I cannot wait to see what the next book will bring. I'm keeping everything crossed for Rylan and Kate and a HEA.

I’m a huge fan of Jeanette Grey – I’ve always loved the way she creates such amazingly layered characters that you can’t help but want to know everything about.

In Seven Nights To Surrender, we meet Kate, an art student who is trying to decide on her life path, and is using a trip to Paris and her life savings to try and help make that decision. A chance pick-pocketing provides Rylan with an opportunity to charm her, hopefully off her feet and into his bed.

Rylan is nursing some major wounds inflicted by his family and he’s basically cut all ties with his family and the company that affords him the lifestyle he currently has. Hooking up with tourists is the ideal because there’s no commitment and no ties.

I love that Grey practically takes you to Paris with this book – the amazing art and architecture is all here and described so lovingly. She really makes it all a part of the story. As Rylan and Kate spend more time together, we find them both pushing the limits of comfort… Rylan emotionally, and Kate sexually.

Kate’s history with guys hasn’t been great, and Rylan has had more than his share of sex.

“You’ve been sleeping with idiots,” he repeated. He kissed the shell of her ear, wet and slow. “Here’s the trick. You can get a man to do all kinds of things. But you have to tell him what you want.”

And as Kate learns more and more to demand certain things, she and Rylan connect on a level that deepens each day they are together. Until something happens that has her questioning the connection she thought was growing between them.

I for one am seriously excited for the next book and can’t wait for more of Rylan and Kate. As a side note, I truly hope that Grey is going to possibly explore Rylan’s sister’s story… after meeting her here, I’d love to learn more about her!

If you’re looking for a deeply emotional story filled with steam and sensuality then this is the read for you. Kate and Rylan will have you turning pages as fast as you can just to see where their relationship might go.

Add this one to your TBR pile as soon as you can, and go read some of her other titles, I guarantee you’ll fall for her story-telling just like I have.

On paper I should have enjoyed this one a lot more. The writing was kind of beautiful. And honestly there was nothing really wrong with the dialogue or characters. Apparently I just never connected to their story. I would have loved to get caught up in the whirlwind Paris love affair. The beginning was a little boring, unfortunately. There is a major case of insta-love. When in actuality it is lust. I mean Kate is thinking the L word after a few days of this whirlwind romance. That's not love, honey. You don't even know his last name. Rylan is another story. I found him kind of slimy. He actually doesn't really come off like that. He's quite tender with Kate. But I couldn't help seeing him as the slimy guy who picks up naive tourists. Still the story was enjoyable. The setting even more so. And I will have to read the sequel since it kind of ends on a cliffhanger.

Aw man, I picked this up after reading the review on Smart Bitches Trashy Books and I am so grateful I did. I think the first few chapters felt rough to me because I felt like Grey was having both characters say all these things that she thought the reader expected to hear from these characters. It didn't feel so natural or organic, especially with Rylan, and I was worried Kate was going to be a generic art student character. But as a student of the arts (not fine art though) myself that's also an intensely guarded person, I liked Kate right off.

So you'll see that I tagged this under "I cried". Yeah, because I did. I was up reading this until 3am and tearing up so badly I hoped I wouldn't get swollen eyes in the morning (I didn't, I'm writing this now in the morning).

He was beautiful and wounded, kind and gentle and so guarded that when he let her see even a fraction of himself, it took her breath away. Already, she felt too much. If she let him inside of her, if he made it as good as he had promised to...

So Rylan is in Paris running away from his responsibilities as the heir to a corporation after it turns out his father embezzled money from the company and he's having an existential crisis now. Kate is in Paris for a week to find herself, find her voice as an artist and decide if she should take up her MFA at Columbia. You know she wants to, but her doubts all come from her own insecurities that have snowballed over time thanks to her father, the people around her etc. And it is true, she hasn't found her own style, her own voice as an artist and I know how hard that can be. You feel really lost, and suddenly you doubt your own passion, because you believe you're not good enough, so why should you be pursuing this thing, even if you love it? And that hurts a lot. So I loved that exploration of Kate's character. So Kate is a very guarded person, emotionally and otherwise. And she was realistically guarded too, I could relate a lot to her character. She wants to let Rylan in so much, she wants to be vulnerable but it takes time.

With Rylan, his crisis is less relatable but also still is. He feels betrayed and ashamed by his father for his deception, abandoned by his mother and it throws him into an identity crisis as well. So he's broken and wounded and has built a wall of charm. It's interesting, because both Kate and Rylan are essentially guarded people with a ton of walls built up, but they handle it differently which is why they ended up breaking each other's walls down without realizing it, and by the time they did, it was too late and they were in too deep. And guarded characters are my favorite, and guarded characters having their walls chipped away is one of the best things ever and way to squeezing my heart.

The scene where Rylan sits for Kate is so fantastic, because he is physically exposed to her, but there's something about letting her see him through an artist's eyes, pov, that is so raw and emotional and it was that way for both her and him. It's that scene where Kate realizes she's a goner and damn, I was gone too. I love art and I love what it does and how it can connect people and allow you to really see the essence of things, and that's what I felt the scene did.

This book does have a sequel so I will just say that this book does end up with Kate leaving (she had 7 days in Paris only) and it is one of the saddest, most heartbreaking scenes I've read in any romance. It hurt so good because by then both of them had emotionally stripped themselves raw to each other and then just like that it was over.

SO I AM OFF TO READ THE SEQUEL NOW.

Oh how I enjoyed Seven Nights to Surrender by Jeanette Grey. It’s a lovely travel romance with incredibly hot, empowering sex scenes. It plays on some of the New Adult tropes I typically hate–Hero With Tragic Past Who Cannot Love, for example–but it does them well.

I was so prepared to give this book an A complete with confetti cannon… and then…and then….

CLIFFHANGER.

I mean, I’m trying to be fair here. I even consulted the Bitchery on how to review a book with a cliffie ending when you really, really liked the book. Fortunately, the sequel, Eight Ways to Ecstasy, is already out which means you don’t have to wait a year for closure.

Also fortunately, e-readers make it possible to download the sequel immediately even if it’s 1 a.m. Remember when you actually had to leave your house to get the next book in the series? Remember when you had to put on pants? Maybe even a bra? That sucked. I remember many mad dashes into Barnes and Noble five minutes before they closed while wearing my PJs and hoping desperately I didn’t run into anyone I worked with.

A lot of the plot hinges on both Kate and Rylan feeling directionless, which isn’t unrealistic given their ages. They start off as strangers spending seven nights together in Paris, but of course they both discover that they want more. They also help each other work through their respective issues. Rylan inadvertently helps Kate achieve a major breakthrough in her art, for example.

So I’m reading this and noticing the number of pages till the end of the book getting smaller and smaller, and I’m having panicky thoughts like, “There’s not enough pages for them to resolve all their issues!” Which, obviously, they don’t because like I said this ends on a FUCKING CLIFFHANGER. I was so mad.

Maybe that’s not fair of me, but the thing I like about romance novels is that in one book, you get resolution. Maybe there’s a series, but it’s interconnected stories about different couples. I hate it when I’m super emotionally invested in a book and realize that I’m not going to get the closure that I find so satisfying. That’s why I read romance. The sequel is out, which saved me from a total freakout, but I’m still not super thrilled.

I felt like a lot of the self-exploration themes (hurr that was totally a masturbation joke) could have been shortened in order to get them to a happily ever after in a single book. I get that both Kate and Rylan are having existential crises. Some of it just felt too drawn out, maybe to justify the second book.

I really liked Seven Nights to Surrender. I’m going to read Eight Ways to Ecstasy but I’m going to be salty about it. I’m invested in Kate and Rylan’s story, and I loved a lot of things about the book, but I like my romance in single serving sizes, please.

4.5 Stars for this contemporary New Adult (erotic) romance.

Kate is a woman filled with self-doubt, mostly because men (her father and ex-boyfriend) have put her down, a lot. She's never had an orgasm with a man, and she's not sure she can ever fall for a man--not after witnessing her mother's destructive marriage, and her own disastrous single foray into dating.

Kate's an artist spending a week in Paris hoping to learn what to do with her life--she has been accepted for her MFA in art, and she has a job offer at an ad agency. School, or work? If she can't get a better sense how to do her art, she's got to take the job, right.

Naturally, for Kate, her vacation/vision quest begins badly. Her purse is snatched at a cafe. Her coffee is picked up by a sexy stranger, Rylan, who entreats Kate to spend some time together, as her guidebook is now stolen, and he knows the city intimately. Kate gets the idea that Rylan knows a lot of women intimately, and this idea is verified by Rylan--who, let's face it--is a lazy trust-fund brat having an extended temper tantrum. I do like Rylan, but he's exactly that. He let his father dictate his life, and he was seriously disappointed and unhappy with the result.

Rylan convinces Kate to hang out, and also to let him seduce her--he's sure he can satisfy her sexually and he spends several nights doing just that. There is a lot of sex, most of which is non-penetrative. Kate is initially nervous about having intercourse, so Rylan satisfies her in other ways, and he's not specific about reciprocity. In fact, he counts his lack of action to be a penance for all the half-truths he reveals to Kate. He's led her to believe that he's a struggling ex-pat, though this is far from true. His father's tarnished legacy has fallen into his lap, and he wants nothing to do with it. He has a lot of self-hate, which makes him more sympathetic. Plus, he lives to get Kate off, which is kinky fun.

Rylan wants nothing more than to spend these perfect days with Kate, but that gets snipped when she learns she's just another lying liar, like her cheating ex and her cheating dad. Expect a frosty break-up, and a chance at redemption. Expect a whole lotta sexytimes, and a fragile ego to become a burnished self-esteem. Kate and Rylan have serious daddy issues, and they deal with them in similar ways. By the end, neither of them is running, which was good. The planned sequel looks to be just as sexy, and will provide the end of this story, though there was enough closure here for the story to rest.

3.5 Sexy Stars!

Kate is in Paris, alone, and trying to find herself. She's an artist and is using this trip to get some inspiration, as well as trying to make some big decisions in her life. Having a bit of wanderlust in my blood, I can say that I understand her need to get away from home and clear her head, and heart.

She meets Rylan in a cafe when he comes to her rescue and pays for her drink when she is mugged while waiting in line in said cafe. He buys her drink and offers his services as a tour guide as well. Reluctantly and throwing caution out the window she accepts his offer. Rylan is charming, funny, and very very sexy. Kate can't help but be charmed by him even though she tries her hardest not to let it show. Somehow these strangers connect and end up spending the week getting to know each other and themselves. Rylan is running from the inevitable and it's soon to catch up with whether he likes it or not. As the week passes Rylan and Kate both come to some startling realizations.

I love all of the sites throughout Paris that are included in this story. I could envision things in my mind's eye and felt like I was there enjoying it in person. I like how Rylan was able to get Kate to open up even if he wasn't being completely forthcoming about himself.

This is very well written story with lots of sensual sexy time! I am looking forward to reading the sequel to see how Kate and Rylan's story ends.

Seven Nights To Surrender is a powerful love story, sexy and romantic. The story is set in Paris the most romantic city in the world. And this will be Kate's most passionate week of her life.

Kate had been exploring the city of Paris. She had made plans to for a quite afternoon sketching. But standing alone in a que in a cafe someone slams into her. As Kate pays the Cafe assistant she notices that her purse has gone.

A devilishly handsome man buys Kate her drink. But what Kate doesn't know is that Rylan had a short well-tested list of rules for picking up a tourist. He offers to show Kate around the city of Paris. He wants Kate. But men are good at telling a women what they want to hear. This man had paid for Kate's coffee.
How much harm could a conversation and seeing Paris with a stranger really do?

Guy seems mostly nice, but his POV is all about how he can convince this girl to hop into bed - where to place the hand, the best thing to say that won't scare her off, etc. It could be done in a non-creepy way but he's so calculating, so practiced in this art of seducing people who aren't exactly in the mood to be seduced that it creeps me out.

You know that feeling when you find a book that you want everyone to read because then you can talk about it all the more? Well, that's this book for me.

Kate just graduated college and she decided to go to Paris and explore the city. Her goal is to find herself and make the decision(s) she needs. She doesn't have a lot of time to make up her mind and her savings, unfortunately for her, do have a limit. Nonetheless she's deemed spending whatever little money she has is worth it.

She's got great plans and is a bit frustrated because her time is Paris will soon come to an end and she's yet to find herself. She wants to find what makes her unique, and sets her apart from all other artists. She must find her voice. While she's at a coffee shop making plans, and trying to remember how to order a coffee latte in French, she's robbed of what money she had to spend. Fortunately not all her money is stolen. Then again she becomes nervous because she doesn't know how to explain to the cashier she no longer wants the coffee.

Before she can utter a word the handsome guy behind her pays for her coffee and invites her to sit with him. She obliges only because she wants to be nice to the guy that just saved her from an embarrassing moment, but she's also keeping her guard up because the handsome stranger could either be: a) a serial killer or, b) he simply wants to get in her pants. She's having none though. Before she knows it. Rylan, talks her into spending the rest of the afternoon with him. She's not stupid and knows his end game and she's game.

Rylan isn't sure he wants to do a lot of heavy lifting to get Kate in his bed. The thing is the way she looks at him is more than he can take. His flirtation turns into something more serious. Before he knows it he ends up proposing to her to spend together what time she has left in Paris. She agrees not knowing what she's really agreed to. What starts as a game ends up not being one. Rylan doesn't tell her about all that he is, or who he is. And by the time he figures he should've told her is a bit too late. No matter what he does the outcome will be the same --> Kate walking out on him.

"My pickup crap never worked on you."

She shook her head. "It worked so much better than you ever would have imagined. I just pretended it didn't because--"

He gave her a beat before asking, "What?"

"Because I knew you were going to break my heart."

While Rylan helps her discover who she is and shows her all the sexual pleasures he can think of, Kate teaches him to see inside himself and accept who he is. He can't run away from his destiny and all that makes him. He learns this last the hard way and is willing to do what it takes if she allows him back into her life.

"Thank you," she whispered. "You asshole. For everything."

That last part made me chuckle. This was an enjoyable read. There was plenty of sexy time as there was story. Even though the sequel "eight ways to Ecstasy" doesn't come out until April 2016, this is an HFN. I thought the end dragged on a little too long, and the characters seemed to like "humming" quite a bit when they did or were about to say something. Would I recommend this book? Of course! I will definitely be reading more of Jeanette Grey.

I'm waffling between 3 and 4 stars for this one, and if I gave half stars, it would've totally gotten a 3.5 from me. Since I don't, I'm going with 3 stars. I enjoyed it. The writing was good. I liked Kate, but found Rylan kinda ... gross? There was a heavy emphasis on the number of women he'd been with and he was kinda creepy while in pick up mode. I didn't enjoy spending time in his mind.

All that said... this book was HOT. Like blush in public, make sure no one is reading over your shoulder hot. Rylan had a dirty mouth and he knew how to use it, if you know what I mean. All his experience with women served him well. I read this book in the matter of a few hours in one day, but it didn't hold my attention the entire time. It was a little slow at points and my mind would start to wander. But I also had that "OMG I HAVE TO KNOW WHAT HAPPENS" feeling, too.

Kate was a good heroine. I could relate to her desire to find herself and make a tough decision between her passion (art) and success (a job). Who hasn't been there? Not all of us can run off to Paris for a week to try to make our decision though. I applaud her for doing it. Of course, she didn't know she'd find TRUE passion like she had never experienced while she was there.

As I said above, Rylan was a bit creepy to me. He did grow on me over the course of the book, but there was so much foreshadowing that I feared I would be lumping him in the bad book boyfriend category when it was all said and done. He was keeping secrets and I was unsure the nature of them. When they were revealed, honestly, I didn't find them to be a huge deal so the conflict between he and Kate didn't necessarily make sense to me. I mean, I kinda get where she was upset, but I didn't consider it a deal breaker. But, I suppose with Kate's history with liars, it would be.

I didn't realize when I requested this book that it was the first in a series (or is it a duology?) but it's ok. It didn't have a brutal cliffhanger. But... I still need the second book like, now. I gotta know what happens next.

Seven Nights to Surrender, I picked up and was like I'll give this one a go and see how I enjoy it as I wasn't sure if I was in a romance / erotica mood as some of them are so blah but OMG I loved Seven Nights to Surrender by Jeanette Grey , it actually proved to be one of the hottest erotica books I have read in a long time as parts of it turned me on. We are transported to Paris where we meet Kate who has just completed her degree in Art and is now trying to find herself and her "style" in art before she starts grad school. Growing up Kate has always been told she was useless and not encouraged with her talents, which I could reasonate with Kate as I have had a similar upbringing with my father. During one of her early days in Paris, she is robbed and Rylan - the handsome stranger comes to her rescue. He is looking for something or in this case someone to fill his empty void and seeing as she is a tourist, she has captured his attention. However, as the book goes on we can see that Kate is more important in Rylan's book than a quick lay for the week as she inspires him to be someone else , to care. She brings out a side of him, which he thought was well-hidden - a side which has him revealing stories from his past and childhood. Though, as readers of these sort of books and stories , we can see where it's hidden as Rylan hasn't told Kate everything about his past - especially the part where he is very wealthy. When Kate does find out she feels betrayed as she believes he played her and that she was some sort of game for him . Can Rylan prove to Kate that the last week has been an eye-opener for him and he wants to spend more time with her ? Or is it too late as her week in Paris is up and now Kate must return back to her "real life" ? Erotica Fans : A heads up as the scenes in this book are well-written and steamy and are sure to turn you on. I am now looking forward to reading the next part in the Art of Passion series by Jeanette Grey as I think I have found a new favourite Erotica Author.

I liked the first half of the book. The hero and heroine meet and while they both want something casual, they realize their growing feelings for each other and don't want their interlude to end.

However, this book had a scene where the hero and heroine go to the sex shop and play with sex toys like dildos. The hero and heroine play with the dildo back in their hotel room and it just turned me off. I'm not reading a romance novel to watch the hot hero use a dildo on the heroine.

I kept reading anyway and then felt betrayed to find out that the second book will continue their story. It was not a cliffhanger ending but their story is definitely unfinished.

I felt like a simple conversation would have fixed their relationship issues. I see no need for a second book.

I will not be reading further.

Love travel romances and really enjoyed this one. This was more than I expected. Going by the cover and title you'd expect only steam but there was more than that. There was a bit of a slow burn in some parts. Some parts, gave me the vibe of the movie Before Sunrise, when they were exploring the city and sharing experiences. Some other parts I found very romantic and I felt transported to Paris.

I had never heard from this author before but loved her writing style. Definitely reading more from her.

Ok, at first I thought the hero was gonna be a creepy douche stalker-esque kinda dude, but as I read on, that changed. I stared feeling for his sadness. I also felt for the heroine's insecurity. Very steamy love scenes, a good story in the long run. But apparently there is a sequel, so for now the story to me is HFN.

I saw this book mentioned on Fiction Fare (where I get all my trusted book recs) and I was immediately interested in it, (more like had-to-have-it) after reading this snippet:

So, I entered a give-away and won.

I spent my Saturday and Sunday cuddled up to this book, snarling at anyone that came near with threats of distracting me.

From the first chapter I was hooked, turning the pages until there were none left. That's the type of book I crave. One that tugs me so forcefully that it demands to be read.

Rylan Bellamy is a gorgeous, tall, confident man that's passing his time in Paris while ignoring all of his real life issues. He wants to blend in and see what women really think about who he is, not what he has. So, while in Paris, Rylan takes on a different identity... one of a normal guy, certainly not the wealthy heir of a man with a well-known, flawed name, who is set to inherit an entire family enterprise.
Before Kate comes along, Rylan typically enjoys picking up beautiful women, with offers of a free tour of Paris, only to seduce them and see them off the next day. So, it's not only refreshing when Kate comes along, but she'll enlighten him in ways he never imagined, ultimately giving him the courage and motivation to face the very thing that he's been running from.

Kate is a starving artist carrying around her father's critical voice in her head. A voice that says she'll never make it, that she isn't good enough. She's come to Paris for inspiration and ultimately, to find herself. What she doesn't expect to find is Rylan Bellamy.
A hero at first, he saves the day after she's pick-pocketed at a cafe. She ends up taking him up on his offer of a free tour of the city. He's been there for a year... he knows it well, after all. At the end of the first night, they share a kiss that essentially leaves them flustered and hungry for more. They both know they want more time together, so they plan to meet the next day. By the end of the second night, there's no chance of separation if Rylan has anything to say about it. What starts as a Paris fun fling, quickly escalates to something so much more meaningful and deep. Rylan shows Kate who she really is and how amazing her art has always been. He gives her the confidence she's always needed to pursue her art dreams.

These two characters have white hot chemistry and the way Jeanette delivers the story kept my attention from beginning to end. She describes the city and the art in such a beautiful way that the visions burst clear in my mind and I'm sitting right there with Rylan and Kate.

Nothing in this story ever felt contrived, Jeanette took her time developing each scene, every line of dialogue and my god, the sex? Some of the hottest sex scenes are in this book right here.

Towards the end of the book, Rylan slips and it's revealed that he's kept something very important from Kate. This completely shatters her. She doesn't trust easily but she put her trust in him. This is a violation that she won't forgive, or forget. They part ways in a rush of emotions, with Rylan begging her to understand him and Kate torn apart from the mistrust.

It's crushing to read the two of them going through their separation from each other. But while Kate was crushed, Rylan is made stronger, and his need for her becomes much greater than his desire to run away from his problems any longer.

Three months pass and he decides to face his issues head on, and goes to New York to do just that. But while he's in New York he doesn't just take back his empire, he shows up on Kate's doorstep.

And she'll have just seven nights to surrender.

I can't wait to get the sequel in my hands and I gotta say, I would have thrown the book against the wall had it ended in a cliff hanger, but it didn't. Jeannette wrote a satisfying ending that left us readers with a sweet smile and feeling sated until we get our next fix, Eight Ways to Ecstasy.

This book goes on sale 11/3/15, you only have to wait a few days for it! Mark your calendars!

As I wrote in my initial I'll-eventually-review-this! mini-review, this was the surprise of the year. Yes, I (yet again) am eating my hat. This was both entertaining and well-written -- not the fluffy erotica I was expecting but something much, much better.

The premise is the only cliched part of this book. We have a tortured bad boy escaping his issues by going abroad, where he magically meets a beautiful woman who just so happens to be in the same cafe at the same time. It's very Casablanca.

Of all the gin joints charming cafes in all the towns in all the world, she walks into mine.

Kate is on the hunt for some artistic inspiration, and where better than Paris to get out of her creative slump? When she meets Rylan in the aforementioned cafe, Kate's immediately suspicious because A) he's hitting on her in the cheesiest ways possible and B) he's offering to tour the city with her in an extravagant way that makes her uncomfortable. Why does this guy have so much free time on his hands? She brushes him off. But as her time in the city ticks down, she becomes open to Rylan's proposal to explore the city, one place at a time.

Of course, this is a love story -- and it nicely slow burns until the brutal ending (I needed that sequel like YESTERDAY). Rylan and Kate start a casual sex arrangement (she's in Paris for two weeks, after all) but she quickly realizes that spending all this time with Rylan has (gasp!) made her a lot more attached than she'd like. And once all of Rylan's bad-boy issues of why he escaped abroad come to light, it delightfully complicates their relationship even more.

I have to give major props to Jeanette Grey for keeping this sex positive. Case in point, one of my favorite scenes from the book:

She shook her head, but there was something anguished about it. "This isn't as easy for everybody else as it is for you. Girls we--" She cut herself off.

"What?" He gave her a second to finish her thought, but when she didn't he could guess where she was going with it. "What? You don't want to seem easy? Or like you know what you're doing? Well, let me assure you ... [t]here is nothing sexier than a woman who know what she wants. Nothing.

...Can we have more of this in romance novels? STAT?

Yes, we're never going to meet a random rich guy who takes us on a tour of France and has mind-blowing sex with us all day. I DON'T CARE. This book was good enough to ignore the crazy. I am dying for the sequel (Eight Ways to Ecstasy) and consider myself properly chastened for judging this book by its cover. The wait until April 5th begins!

I'm not totally sure how I feel about this book. The book starts off with Kate in Paris ordering coffee only to find out her purse has been snatched. Rylan is there and ends up buying her coffee and hopes to show her some of the sights.

Rylan doesn't get close to the women he meets and sleeps with while he is in Paris but there is something about Kate that just intrigues him. What starts off as maybe a game and hopes for a one night stand turns into something more.

These two characters are both running from their pasts and trying to figure out what the future holds. They spend the days sight seeing and getting to know each other (within reason) but their nights are filled with Rylan helping Kate discover her sexual side.

Kate finally starts to open up to him only to discover he hasn't been totally honest with her. These characters really had a lot of baggage.

I enjoyed how Rylan wanted to show her what she was missing and to see how special and talented she really was. I think they both ended up teaching other a few things they didn't know about themselves.

This book ends with Rylan flying back home to NYC and asking Kate for another 7 nights to show her how he really feels. A part of me just wanted a HEA after this book and have the second book about Rylans sister but no such luck.

What I did love was the art and how the author describes the scenery in Paris. It made you feel as if you were there and looking at the same things they were.

These two do have some sexy scenes and dirty talk but it didn't have much romance. It was more of a physical thing and towards the end started get a little more on the emotional level between them.

I am interested in reading the second book to see what will happen and how it finally ends with Rylan and Kate. Will they fall in love and have a HEA? What other things will pop up to get in their way? Hopefully everything will be resolved in the book.

This is a new author to me and I am excited on reading more from her.

Les scènes hot étaient un peu vulgaires par moments. Et en fait je me demande si ce n'est pas dû à un problème de traduction. D'une part, le texte étant sensé être "lyrique", selon moi lyrisme et vulgarité ne vont pas de pair. Ensuite, certains mots tombaient comme un cheveu sur la soupe. Enfin, il y a aussi un problème de relecture vu les coquilles que j'y ai trouvées. J'ai parfois dû relire des phrases par manque de compréhension du sens.
Bien évidemment, encore un bouquin où on ne nous prévient pas qu'il y a une suite. Le plus: la fin ne finit pas totalement sur un cliffhanger, juste en demi-teinte. Le genre d'histoire où on se dit que l'auteur n'a pas voulu assumer le fait qu'elle écrit de la romance. C'est en jetant un oeil sur son site que j'ai vu qu'il y aurait un second et dernier tome sur le même couple (que c'est original!)
Sinon l'histoire en elle-même est assez sympa, ça reste de la romance contemporaine classique. Le problème c'est que c'était trop long, il y avait un peu trop de descriptions et le héros est un vrai dragueur de seconde zone.
L'auteur connait très bien Paris. Soit elle a fait de bonnes recherches, soit elle y a habité pendant longtemps.
En conclusion: un livre qu'on lit jusqu'au bout. Je ne suis quand même pas sûre d'avoir envie de lire la suite, ni avec le même couple, ni avec les autres personnages.

I REALLY enjoyed this book. I love the characters arc and the way the story developed. Each screwed up in heir own way and a lovely road they're taking towards finding themselves.

Can't wait for the next title where they find their joint path.
