A comprehensive, easy-to-read introduction into your furry friend's nutrition and diet. If you're interested in changing what your dog eats, this book is a great place to start. It gives you the basics of nutrition and how little changes in your dog's diet can lead to big changes with their overall health. Dr. Greg Martinez really knows what he's talking about. I really appreciated how he doesn't say one diet is better than the other, but rather encourages people to know their dog and tailor the diet towards each individual. The best part of the book is his section on how to read commercial dog food labels, which was extremely helpful and easy to understand.
Overall, a great wealth of information that will help you ask the right questions when evaluating your dog's diet with your veterinarian.

I won this book in a Goodreads giveaway in exchange for my honest review.

My family recently adopted a beagle about 8 weeks ago so I was excited to learn that I won this giveaway. We want to make sure he stays healthy and fit because hound dogs are known for eating everything and anything. This book is a great guide to what food is good for your dog to eat and what should be avoided. It also gives great advice on health issues dogs may face and what can be done at home to help alleviate any of those issues. Grateful for the inclusion on the info on carsickness and paw care because these are two problem areas for my dog.
The book is easy to read and the layout is pleasant to look at thanks to the inclusion of both illustrations and photos. Overall I think this is a great guide for dog owners.
