“I think you missed one.” A tall, brunette woman extends a candelabra to me. A rather ornate model. “Hope it gives you everything you need.”
Following a routine trip into town to replace his missing candle holders, Greg realizes he has received much more than he paid for.
Add an injured runner looking for a place to wait out a storm, and Greg has his hands full.
While attempting to better understand the candelabra, the group learns Greg has a much larger secret of his own. Will it cause a schism, or bring them all closer than ever?
Lit is book 15 in the Kyleverse, a series of sentient object romance short stories. Kyle isn’t the main character, but he shows up to help the plot in one way or another. The stories are sequential but can be read as standalones.
Nicole Parker is the author of creative and humorous romance stories. She is a 30-something California native who spends the great majority of her free time writing books, reading books, or organizing her ever growing TBR list. She also has a spouse, some kids, and pets, but this isn't about them. Nicole's books are funny, raunchy, silly, and most importantly full of good vibes and happy endings.
Listen if Author Nicole Parker says I need a sentient candelabra… then by golly I need a sentient candelabra. I should know by now to not even question how it’s going to work… I trust the process and I’ve yet to be disappointed in the outcome. Once again within a few pages I am completely enamored with these characters. Of course a vampire would light a castle traditionally, that makes perfect sense…. So when he becomes the proud new owner of a sentient candelabra it totally tracks. But what really had me kicking my feet and squealing is when our ride or die bestie shows up on said castle’s doorstep. And of course things get hot and heavy quickly… I mean literally just strike a match with this bunch! Add in some fun temperature play and lots of flavored fun… and you have one really interesting adventure. But what really made this one for me was the sweet little moment when of course we realize why this “object” ended up in this characters hands to begin with. And when these characters finally decide to enjoy life and each other! I love me a happy ending with lots of happy endings!
There are not enough words for how much I adore The Kyleverse. It’s absurd and spicy and packed with consent and fantastic flavors. It’s so kink positive and queer normative. It’s accepting and laugh out loud hysterical.
This entry in the series is just as fun when our vampire MC accidentally brings home a sentient candelabra from the candelabra store. Yes, there’s a candelabra store. There’s a market for it. Greg is constantly replenishing his supply due to the number of maidens in their nightgowns who have stolen them from his gothic mansion. It’s not like he could add electricity. Renovations like that in a stone mansion? The exposed wires?
I love the way Nicole’s mind works! The bulk of the story takes place over one night, features 1 vampire, 1 human candelabra sales clerk, 1 Kyle and 1 consenting candelabra. It’s divine. The candelabra has those drip pans to collect wax that are like knots?
No candles were harmed. They get removed before insertion. Lots of wax play, no fire play!
10/10 would recommend. Fantastic entry to the Kyleverse!
This is a sentient object romance story with spice. Make sure you know what that means before reading.
I think this one was my favorite and I am really sad it’s over so quickly.
It also felt like a paranormal romance and I am digging that. There is a vampire in this story and I hope we see more of him. He’s kind of cute and cranky and a little bit controlling 🥵
It’s part of the Kyleverse, of course Kyle is in it, but I can be read as a standalone. The only character you need to know about is Kyle and honestly this could make for a great introduction. If you’re new to the Kyleverse and or have read some of the series this book will give you a Kyle refresher, but also makes for a good introduction to what you’d be getting into with the series.
A witch has gifted the vampire a candelabra. How sweet right? Yes, except his name is Flint and he’s alive and maybe horny. I love Flint. He’s kind of bossy and drips🥵
Everyone becomes friends quickly 😉and we see what Flint can really do.
That’s all you get. Go read the story and giggle with us about it 🤭

I think my obsession with Nicole just deepened, which I didn't think was possible. I giggled so many times while reading this book that I had to put my hand over my mouth so I did not wake my kids!
Did I know there were vampires where Kyle lived? No Did I know there was such a thing as candelabra stores? No Is it normal to have maidens come almost every day and take your candelabras? No Are the three things above more weird to me than a talking, horny candelabra? Yes!!
I am not sure how many more characters I can love, but I think Flint might be at the top of my list!
This one was unexpected! I knew it wasn’t going to be a beauty and the beast retelling because Nicole said the candelabra isn’t French in this book… but I still didn’t expect this one 🤣🤣
I loved Kyle so much in this one and how he doesn’t know how he always ends up in these situations but it’s like his c0ck has some sort of compass in it that puts him exactly where he’s meant to be.
This one is an insanely fun time and wax and candelabra arms go EVERYWHERE! Lit comes out April 24th thank you Nicole for having me on your ARC team!
A fun novella in this series. Just when you think you have thought of all the sentient object romances, Nicole goes nope...wrong. We have all watched Beauty and the Beast but how many of us looked at Lumière and thought "Yeah, I choose him". Don't fool yourself. So, if this is you, then, this novella is for you.
I liked the addition of the candelabras and Greg. If there was ever a play to wait out a storm, it is Kyle's. A fun and steamy time is had for both Kyle and Greg. Things go bump in the night.
And we're back for more NP shenanigans! Featuring our lovely, always there at the right moment Kyle! We have a Sentient candelabra called Flint that is secretly ready for anything at anytime, Greg who is buying multiple candle holders until he gets given this one, Wyatt who is seemly confused by it all but down to try and Kyle that is like ah a candelabra to add to my tally LOL As always it was a fun ride!
NICOLE PARKER!! This was a whole other level of sentient smut, I am blushing 😳 Marshmallows hmmm, perfect for summer! This was really fun, really dirty, and I like the all male ensemble. Sentient object and a vampire! “Greg is the worst vampire name I’ve ever heard”
I will never look at a candelabra the same. I couldn’t stop picturing lumière and now I fear I can never watch Beauty and the Beast again 😂
Kyle really does just show up everywhere doesn't he? Greg has an issue with disappearing candelabras from all the women who seek shelter in his castle during storms and then run away. On his latest run into town to restock, he ends up with a sentient candelabra, Flint. Because of course he does. And of course Kyle ends up seeking shelter with Greg, and fun ensues. This book had me laughing out loud pretty much the entire time.
I was not expecting the next book in the Kyleverse to be a candelabra, but I'm also not surprised! It has the perfect parts for a delicious MM romance 🤭
Kyle listing all of the different flavors of "juices" that he has tried made me laugh. I loved that Spatha showed up! He is one of my favorite characters so it was nice to see Spatha again. Thank you to the author, Nicole Parker, for another fun adventure in the Kyleverse!
KYLEEEEEEEEEE. He really does just seem to be in the right place at the right time, and hes always up for a good time. I loved this one, Greg really didnt get what he thought he was when he went to pick up his latest batch of candelabras. Flint was a TREAT and I loved Wyatt as well.
I will never get sick of the Kyleverse - this truly gets better with every new installment
This is another fun and spicy addition to the series and I have to say I love the idea of a consenting candelabra ;P And who knew there were vampires in the Kyleverse? I certainly didn't but I was thrilled to find there was in this quirky read. You definitely can expect a hysterical, k!nk positive and accepting read when you crack this baby open, or any of this author's work, frankly, and I'm so there for the fun reading ride :D
Nicole says vampires and sentient candelabra and I said sign me up. If you asked me how this was going to work I would tell you- I don't know but Nicole knows and that's all I need to know.
And Kyle, always coming through to save the day. Just casually always happening upon the shexual shenanigans. I love him.
Kyle is once again one of my favourite characters, always up for the task and so sweet and enthusiastic. This book has so much, vampires, 4somes, intricate anatomy, vampires, candelabras, magic, flavoured cum and hot hot hot spicy time scenes
I think you could give Nicole Parker literally anything and she could make it hot! Also it’s just a fun story and that’s why I love her books so much.
The imagination needed to think and plan this out? Nicole you amaze me.
10/10. I was enthralled.
I also spent a good ten minutes reading the scene on my kindle, and having the image of a candelabra up on my phone fully trying to visualize what was happening. Did I fully figure it out? Probably not. But this is going to be a great conversation starter for the future
Once again Kyle is in the right place at the right time. This time he’s run into a vampire and his talking candelabra. He ‘comes’ in to save the day and help guide Flint and Greg through this strange time until Flint transforms to a human.
We are finally getting some vampire action in the latest Kyleverse. I love some supernatural action if you know what I mean. With our newest sentient persona adding a little more heat to the action, will Kyle finally find his hard limit? Guess you’ll have to read to find out.
Oh, Greg’s got his hands (and other things 😉) full with Wyatt, the candelabra store employee; Kyle, no introduction needed; and Flint, the sentient candelabra! Wax play, candelabra anatomy, and aphrodisiac vampire bites, what's not to enjoy?! Another fun Kyleverse adventure 💛
This is the perfect if you're looking for a slutty little candelabra falling for a vampire who loses too many candelabras to wagger logged women 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 I was giggling the entire time. Now Im off to my local candelabra emporium, they exist
