Twenty year old Anderson "Andi" Kelly curses the day she got roped into helping plan the wedding of her cousin to her cheating ex-boyfriend. To save face, she tells everyone her boyfriend is megastar, Lucas Greyson--currently Hollywood's hottest actor. In reality, Luke is Andi's boss and a good friend--and vacationing out of the country at the moment. It's the perfect lie; what could go wrong?

She finds out the hard way when Luke unexpectedly shows up at her family's front door. Caught, Andi is forced to tell him about her little white lie--and to her horror, Luke decides he wants to maintain the charade. Left with no choice, she assumes the enviable role of Lucas Greyson's besotted girlfriend.

And that's when things start to get really complicated. As they help each other navigate through ex-boyfriends and conniving co-stars, Andi begins to look at her famous boss in a new light. Soon the line between real and make believe gets blurred, and she finds herself with a difficult choice to make: keep her heart safe and grounded...or shoot for the stars.

A very reluctant 3.5 stars for the second half of the book..

A minus point five (-0.5) ,for the slow and unnecessary first half.Instead of watching the romance develop these two..All i got was fighting and stubborness..The author just took out the complications of a Friends with benefit idea , and literally just applied it to their situation....MINUS the sex :/ Though they were fun at times...

I paste on my most diplomatic smile, but Luke isn’t buying it.  He shakes his head at me.  “Oh, you’re not getting off that easy.  Talk to me, Andi.  You’re the most brutally honest and straightforward person I know.  Why would you feel like you had to save face?”
I cross my arms and glare at him mutinously.  Maybe he’ll take the hint, and just leave.
Yeah, right.

I watch with trepidation as a sly gleam brightens his eyes.  “So you’re grandma probably thinks we’re in here having a quickie,” he says casually.  “Is your room right above the kitchen, do you think?”
To my horror, he starts bouncing up and down on my bed, making the springs in my mattress squeak rhythmically, and the bed frame loudly slides around on the floor.  It totally sounds like we’re having sex up in here.
“Alright!” I shout when Luke starts with the sexy groaning and the “oh, yeahs!” He stops mid-bounce, and looks at me expectantly.”

And a Minus 1 star, because I hated the fact that Audi forgave the hero in less than 5 minutes when he should have groveled for his mistakes atleast a week :/ I still can't believe, he pulled out a 'Its not YOU,its me !",to explain everything. .*Cue eye-roll*

As in me and the heroine...Seriously the heart-ache he put us both through.(Even though the heroine was one crazy and possessive woman who screamt at him 24/7...Lol seriously,I'm pretty sure she enjoyed mind-f***ing the shit out of him at times.)

She should come with a sign-board that says..

NO.JOKE.Though i did enjoy her sarcasm and craziness every few pages.

“No, I can’t trip him going down the stairs.  I can’t.  I mean I could, but I won’t.  I watch him skillfully navigate the steps, but then I have to walk away to avoid temptation.  I can’t believe how he still looks the same.

Would I recommend the read ?
Not really.

Will I willing to read another book by this author ?
Probably not now...but maybe in the distant future some-time. :P

description

description ¿QUE ME PERDÍ?

(...)
— ¿Me amas? – me pregunta, su voz sorprendentemente suave.
— Mi corazón duele sin ti – admito malhumoradamente –. Debe ser amor.
— Necesito oír que lo dices.
— Bien. – lo fulmino agresivamente con la mirada –. Te amo, ¡y lo odio! Es la mejor peor sensación del mundo. ¿¡Contento!?

Wow, just wow.

Meet Andi, She is my new favorite person!
She is fearless, blunt, annoying and oh so angry.

“I jump up and march off. Then I turn back. I grab the crutches that are resting next to Bran, and toss them several feet away. Now I can leave.”

Andi is what makes this book so great.
Her bluntness and the fact that some of her fantasies are probably illegal and that she is a “little” bit crazy made me fall completely in love with her. She is just the shit!

I laughed, I cried, I laughed again. It's an awesome book. I haven't laughed this hard in a long time.

If you like a funny romance this is the book for you!
This book is bloody brilliant. Totally recommend it to everyone. It's hilarious! Honestly, read it, you won't be disappointed.

* Crush con una mega celebridad
* Engaño de ex novio
* Embarazo ficticio
* Pasado oscuro
* Mama drogadicta aparece en escena
* Embarazo con el tipo con el que terminaste
* Final perfecto

Okay, so the only good aspect of the book was Andie as a character and the funny sarcastic tone of her POV. That said I only loved her about 75% of the time. Most of the time she was this strong and slightly cray-cray character but then came Lucas. Whenever I thought that there was going to be a development in either character to make their relationship work, what happens? Sex and then everything is forgiven or forgotten. This weakness account for the 25% of my hate because Andie just gives in.

So I got the feeling that the author was trying to make Lucas sexy yet relate-able and likable. It didn't work for me. I thought he was a selfish cocky undeveloped man-whore. This would have been fine if he developed at all during the book but NOPE. That never happened. SO YEAH STILL THE SAME MAN CHILD!

LAST BUT NOT LEAST: The fact that Andie was practically a virgin compared to Lucas who stuck it in ever hole available (while by the way claiming to be in love with Andie for years) pissed me off. Why? Well because why should Lucas get tons of sex but Andie get none? There isn't even a reason given why Andie hadn't had sex in years, meanwhile Lucas turned it into a team sport and most likely was a walking STD.

SOUND FAMILIAR?: So the author basically does this with the characters in all her books. Does she not believe that women deserve to have as much as men? Does she believe that a guy gets to plow everything and say "It's in the past, can't be helped" and move on?

Frankly, I've read 2 of her books (didn't know they were both by her) and they both seem the same at the core to me. Write a new story would you!

Andi, what can I say! Bold, funny, brash, violent, inappropriate, blunt and emotionally stunted. I love her! Luke, well he evenly matched Andi for sure. I will say I was disappointed that Andi didn't spen more time with Kat....REALLY disappointed!

I liked Andi a lot. Her murderous thoughts were so attuned to mine I actually thought I'd somehow projected it into her character. Luke, on the other hand, never did much for me. Maybe because Andi's so loud you kinda forget about him. Maybe because there's a lot of talk of how hot he is but not that much about his personality. I don't know but, the truth is, I never noticed him much. I mean, he's the other main character and pretty much all Andi talks about but Andi's voice is so strong he ends up fading into the background and...that was actually ok. Amazingly enough I read this book solely for Andi. After reading a couple chapters I honestly thought I was going to end up getting frustrated with her and start hating her. It didn't happen. Not a single time. She and I have a lot in common personality-wise. I am often inconsiderate. I'm called a crazy bitch at least once a week. I hate socializing and I'll leave in the middle of a conversation if you piss me off. But I'm also a f*cking loyal bitch. I will defend a friend in just about anything. Unlike Andi, I didn't have a bad childhood. Or I can't really claim I did because I was never abused and my parents weren't murdered either. They're still very much alive and happy (or so they claim). The happy part. Not the other. Anyway when I was getting into my teens...my father cheated on my mother with a work colleague. He got caught with her in his car about to have sex. Not the first time either. Everyone knew but my mom. She ended up dragging the woman out of the car by her hair and punched my father. Lucky shot. They came home yelling at each other. I was home alone. I don't know how it started but when it's over my mom is on the ground with a bruise in one arm and my father is sporting a bite mark in another. He slept on the couch that week. They stopped talking to each other. More than 5 years would be my guess. The silence was horrible. They never divorced and lived completely separate lives while still sleeping in the same bed. F*cked up right? Doesn't really matter. The past and all that. My point being that being a teenager in that kind of environment wasn't exactly healthy. Formative years they call it. I don't do relationships. Hell, I don't think I even do proper friendships. And I can hide a world of hurt behind a nice smile or a show of anger. It's not even remotely healthy but that's my way. So I understood Andi and saw a lot of myself in her. Her insecurities. Her fears. Her trust issues. Luckily there was Nate. Comic relief. And a good one too. I actually ended up liking him better than Luke. I still don't understand why he liked Andi. So sue me.

This book was a bit of a rollercoaster for me. For the most part, I was totally in to it! But I was frustrated at what was happening on more than one occasion, which brought down my enjoyment factor.

Things were actually going really well, until just before the 50% mark. Luke was flirty and fun, and obviously in to Andi. Andi was stubborn and blind to Luke's feelings, even though he was clearly into her. Luke did something around the 40% mark that I couldn't stop thinking about. I couldn't forgive him for it and it put a real dampener on the whole story for me. Andi had been through her share of shit already, she didn't need to be shat on again. And the way she moved on from her past betrayals, wasn't in keeping with her strong personality. I hated the way she rolled over for her ex, her cousin and at times Luke.

I also didn't like the way excuses started to be made in regards to her past relationship with her ex, almost like him cheating on her was her fault. It doesn't matter how lacking she was with her affections toward him, it doesn't excuse him cheating. It really honestly pissed me off that what happened was continually rubbed in her face and she started almost feeling guilty about it in the end. Whatthefuckever.

Anyway, I did love the romance of the story when it was happening. These two had their share of ups and downs in a short amount of time though, and as I've stated, that ruined the flow of the story for me. I would have liked more steam instead of the blink and you'll miss it sex scenes that featured. They could have been spectacular because their chemistry was strong.

I have more to complain about, like that bitch Kat and Jessica (how many passive aggressive assholes needed to mess with poor Andi, geez?!) and I hated the end in regards to Nate and Amber Lynn - WHAT. THE. FUCK. EWWW. No.

There were things that worked for me and things that didn't. There were things that made me laugh and things that made me wanna punch a bitch. But for the most part, despite what it may seem, I did enjoy this book. It just infuriated me. But I guess sometimes when a story gets you so riled up, it's a good thing.

OMG, again, I totally loved this book from Nicole Christie. There is something about her writing that makes you turn the pages so quick, it is almost impossible to put it down. For her previous two novels they took over my life, became an obsession for a short while. This book was no different. READING THIS BOOK I HAD NO LIFE. I couldn't even eat my lunch and dinner without reading it.

Full of witty lines, humorous plot lines and sexy blokes. The heroine, Andi, is very different from the usual leading lady. She is a little more than feisty. She is quite bitchy, nasty, violent, crazy - if you met her, her outspokenness and tendencies to set your bed on fire would put you on edge. Throughout the book people keep saying they don't know what hot Hollywood actor Lucas Greyson sees in her and with all honesty, I can understand this observation. However, there is quite a lot of depth to her character. She is messed up and pushes people away who get too close. As you read on you can get to understand her. A lot of the time you want to slap some sense into her, so my first reservations were short-lived as Andi quickly became loveable.

Lucas Greyson = another dream book boyfriend. Do yourself a favour, check out this book.

Just....NO!

Luke is a douche who spends the 2 years he knows Andi screwing around with random women practically everyday, and leaves it to Andi to "get rid" of his sex partners (yeah classy guy).

So after banging chicks for 2 years in front of Andi he decides he now wants her. Ummm, after all of his sexcapades that she's had to cleanup I really hoped that she would stand up to him. But no, she's a doormat. He even gets away with screwing an old flame while making a play for Andi at the same time. And he then has the nerve to tell Andi he "loves" her. What a load of crap.

Ummm, Luke was just filth. No romantic lead, I would've kicked his sleazy (cheaty) ass to the curb without a second glance.

This was a VERY DISAPPOINTING READ.

I never bought the love story, it was just Luke trying to hookup. They were not engaging or together enough to be a couple. This was not some great little love story where you could feel their connection. Nope, it was just Luke trying to hookup with the last female he hasn't slept with yet. And Andi run from this sleazebag cause he's gonna cheat on you again and again, and blaim it on alcohol.

4.5 CELEBRITY CRUSH STARS!!! WOW! I really enjoyed this book, it just really worked for me. I love how the author really knew her characters, and she did not deviate from that. Luke was such a strong hero. He was not perfect and some of his actions in the beginning I did not like, but man did he redeem himself. He fought for what he had always wanted, Andi. Andi was a very unique heroine, she had anger issues, she was awkward, and man, was she hilarious. I loved being inside her head. She was so honest, and tried to be so strong. Luke and Andi were perfect together, they just fixed each other. I love angsty books, and boy this one was. I loved it because it wasn't overly dramatic, but it hit me hard, and I just loved it. I would have given this book a 5 but it had a small part where it dragged but overall I just devoured this book. I will definitely be reading more by this author!!!!

I have to say, I liked Nicole Christie's Falling for the Ghost of You better than Celeb Crush. In Celeb Crush, the main character's dysfunctional personality was a little over the top for my preference. It was funny though, especially the internal dialogue. And I was happy about the HEA ending :)

In another author's hands this probably would have been a two star read. There were so many things that just drove me crazy! But I laughed the whole way through and I was thoroughly entertained. This is the third book I've read by Nicole Christie and they all bring the funny. Slow Burn is still my favorite though.

Luke and Andi really were fire and gasoline. So much angst and anger. I thought Andi's insecurity when it came to dating Luke was understandable. After watching all those women rotate through his bedroom, why would she think he'd be different with her?

I really didn't want Andi to be so forgiving toward Bran and Megan, they were terrible people, especially Megan. And I thought Andi was a little too quick to forgive Luke, he should have been made to grovel a lot more. Andi had such a strong personality, she didn't take crap from people, but when betrayed she just kind of rolled over. It was frustrating. Or maybe I'm just a huge grudge holder.

The supporting characters were great, especially Andi's family. In between the funny moments there were quite a few touching ones, Andi definitely didn't have an easy life.

Too much unresolved

Great premise and I LOVE Andi, but I think there were too many things left "unresolved" and out of character. For instance Andi is tough as nails, and I don't care if her ex and cousin were in love, what they did was horrible, and she forgave them much too easily. Also Luke's "friend" something n the way of karma should have hit her...she was a conniving witch with a capital B and nothing was resolved with her...i.e. Her career should have been ruined. And finally Luke spent the whole book telling Andi he trusted her and was there for her and then bailed and went crazy on her, she took him back to easily as well!! Definitely more groveling should have occurred!

Holy crap

I love Andi, she is hilarious. She's also 2 scoops of crazy and a side of coo coo catchoo. The book is hilarious, heart wrenching, and just awesome. Not gonna lie all the cheaters in it can just go on a cruise together... on the titanic... maybe I'm almost as crazy as Andi, but with more restraint. Luke I loved him, and hated him, but then kinda loved him again. Read it and you can see why. That's all I'm gonna say because it would just be to easy to just tell you the whole story... I've already written way to much on this. I'm just going to shut up now.

nice book, interesting storyline

I loved this book, Andy and Luke together was so funny, loved the dialogue between them, the scenes, Luke chasing her was nice. I loved the fact that he was her friend in the first place, he knew she was in a messy situation and he wanted to be there for her, just show up to show support and that was pretty cool. I hated the cousin and the ex boyfriend, but later on I understood them and kinda liked them too. Would definitely recommend this book to anyone!

I'm not sure how I feel about this book. In general it was okay. I liked the story and the characters and the sarcasim going back and forth. But what didn't sit well with me is how she reacted to some things. Like he calls her in the middle of the night and tells her that he slept with Kat and when she wakes up and he's there she's all snuggly and forgiving. he leaves her in the middle of an abandont parking lot in the middle of the night and accuse her of being crazy and when she sees him again she jumps in his arms. It's rediculous and insulting. I seriously didn't like that part.

Last year I somehow stumbled across Slow Burn. I loved it and because of that, I find myself periodically checking Amazon to see if another book has been added to Juliet's story. So far, no such luck. However, I did find that Nicole released this little gem! I loved it!

Andi is a crazy chick but I dig it. I can see why she is the way she is and I can also understand her reactions to things. Luke is hot and super swoon worthy!

Could not put this book down!

Andi found her boyfriend and cousin (Megan) in her bed. Break up.
When she stormed off, she met Luke. Mr. Hollywood.
All the signs were there. Luke was in love with her but she was too dense to notice.
Andi was asked by her Ex boyfriend to be Megan's bride's maid. She agreed.
She slipped a tiny lie about Luke being her boyfriend. Then KABAM! Luke came to their house.
Acted as her boyfriend. Love is in the air~

I love this author and she doesn't disappoint with this book. The hero is always perfect but it's the heroine that makes or breaks the book for me. Luckily, I really liked Andi. She was witty and sarcastic - a great combination. Some of her comments were just hilarious. Why not 5 stars? There was a stupid miscommunication that bugged me. I'm not a fan of that as a plot device. But, overall, a great read.

Rereading this book again. I am a huge fan of Nicole Christie's and I hope she writes more books. Andi is crazy as shit and Luke is charming. Andi is a hoot! I love her. In my head she looks like Shay Mitchell from Pretty Liars. I love the inner monologues and loved this book.

Rating: ⭐⭐✨ (2.8)

This story was a unique take on the celebrity romance, with Andi (the female MC) being Luke's (the male MC/superstar) "assistant to his assistant." The way Andi and Luke met and subsequently formed a relationship (professional at that point) was hilarious, as was most anything having to do with Andi in the story.

For the most part, I liked Andi's character. She was a spitfire and had a dry sense of humor (much like my own). She was very real in her insecurities about Luke's lifestyle and prior relationship history as well as her emotional issues (anger), which was used to cover up her other feelings. Andi's character could be a total bitch in general but especially to Luke, which was something I didn't like.

Luke was a sweet, down-to-earth celebrity, loyal to his fans, friends and co-workers. His BFF, Nate, was the stereotypical sidekick and I could totally see a spin-off book featuring him. (I doubt that will happen as this story is five years old.)

I honestly thought Andi and Luke were better off as friends. They very much had a f*uck and fight relationship so although they had physical chemistry and friendly banter, I didn't see much I'm the way of romance, especially from Andi. Perhaps showing a little more of their relationship before they pretend to/become romantically involved would have solved that.

I also didn't see any change in the characters throughout the story. At the end, Andi still wasn't in touch with her feelings and had anger issues. Although Luke's character in general didn't have any major flaws and perhaps didn't need to evolve, he also wasn't any different by the end of the story.

All in all I'm glad I gave this author a second chance (tried to read "Slow Burn" but couldn't get into it) and will look into her other books.

Andi was the highlight of this book for me. I loved reading about her, so much that all the other characters fell flat for me. She is a total b**** and she knows it. But, she's not unlikable. At least, I liked her and could see her appeal. Underneath all that snark and sass, she had a heart of gold. And I admire Ms. Christie for developing such a strong character. Rarely do we come across smart, bitchy heroines who don't mind giving the middle finger to the world. Yet, you know that when the situation demands, they will be the first ones to do the honorable thing. That's where Andi clicked for me. Even though she was smarting from her break-up, she shoved aside her pain and helped Bran and Megan prepare for their wedding. All for her aunt's sake. The girl totally won me over.

Now, coming to Luke. An A-list Hollywood heartthrob, a loyal boyfriend, a dutiful son, what's there not to like about him? The guy could see through Andi's tough girl act, for the broken, scared girl that she was. I think he was the only guy strong and patient enough to handle a girl like Andi just as she was the only girl who could handle his reckless behaviour. They complemented each other and I believed their HEA.

Overall, this was one of my better NA reads. The characters acted their age and not like stubborn infants like they do in many popular NA books. I liked Nicole Christie's dry humor even though her writing style is not all that great. I think she's got me hooked with her humor and strong characters. I will definitely check out her other books.
