Thank you so much to Caroline for this advanced copy of her new book.
When Penny discovers a selection of fabric scraps and other haberdashery at a house clearance she feels like she has ‘struck gold’ and I mean this in the literal sense, unusual things start to happen to her and those around her. Penny is a crafter and for her side hustle, she designs stitching kits and holds lessons to teach others the sewing craft. Some of her friends start to create a different kit each - all different quotes to stitch. But each one in turn is related to that person who is creating the masterpiece.
Then one day, Penny thinks she is hearing things and gets really unnerved by this voice and what it’s saying only to realise further along that she can hear and have a full conversation with the village pest - a very vocal cat. She isn’t going crazy, like she first thought from lack of sleep.
How can Penny now talk to cats and what has the fabric scraps got to do with her future?
A must read if you want to know what the connection is.

Huge thanks to the author for the ARC copy — this review is left voluntarily.
All the Magic We Made is a really sweet, cosy small-town romance that centres on Penny, a gentle, relatable heroine with a love for textile crafts. I found her thrifty, slightly nerdy personality very easy to connect with, and her situation with her dad in the care home added emotional depth to her story.
Will, the enigmatic artist from a privileged background, brings an interesting contrast. He’s layered, with his own family struggles, and the dynamic between him and Penny unfolds as a slow-burn romance. At times, the crossed wires and lack of communication were a little frustration but to be fair it felt true to life and made their journey more believable.
The supporting cast is well written, and the overall storyline is warm, charming, and comforting. A lovely, easy read for anyone who enjoys cosy romance with heart and a talking cat!
