Tristan Maddock enters this book feeling a bit like a fish out of water. After spending ten years sacrificing his own happiness in a toxic, highly manipulative relationship with Eve, he has finally broken away, feeling a sense of post-travel aimlessness after hiking the Appalachian Trail. Meanwhile, Jax Fiorelli is living life on hard mode, completely exhausted and defensive from navigating severe, life-altering chronic back pain after two spinal herniations and major surgery crushed his old party-animal lifestyle four years ago. When they unexpectedly cross paths during a physical therapy session before discovering they are actually interconnected through work at The Pointe wedding venue, an immediate physical chemistry takes over. Tristan becomes a peaceful, grounding anchor for Jax's chaotic world, but their slow-burning partnership faces a direct threat as Tristan's intrusive ex-partner continually resurfaces, forcing Jax to redirect his natural fury outward to protect the gentle man he loves.

I was so excited for Tristan's book because I fell completely in love with his gentle, nurturing nature in Obsessed, and this is definitely my absolute favourite out of the entire Pointe series! The contrast between this "angry vs. calm" pairing is brilliant. Tristan hits a specific, mature "dad vibe" archetype that is just so swoon-worthy and scrummy, and watching him meet Jax's defensive exterior with unwavering emotional support instead of fighting back was utterly beautiful. As a fellow chronic pain sufferer, Jax’s storyline felt incredibly genuine and hit me right in the heart. The quote where Jax is told, "How difficult it is to manage a world that is not built for us," beautifully captured the exact reality of adapting to a hidden physical disability. I could totally sympathise with Jax losing friends because of his short fuse and continuous pain—it really hits that old cliché of "you know who your friends are," which is something I have been through myself. Luckily, his old partying friend Mae stays completely true to him.

Despite addressing heavy topics like physical disability and mental health struggles, this was a full-on page-turner that never felt bogged down. I had a brilliantly funny laugh-out-loud kick out of their communication styles—especially with a completely unbothered Jax boldly sending public-space-ruining nudes while a panicked Tristan is stuck in public unable to safely open his phone! If I had to note a very minor critique, Jax's transition from aggressively defensive to completely vulnerable happened slightly too fast for me once Tristan's peaceful presence took over, and I would have liked a bit more conflict before he fully let his guard down. But hayhoo, it's a tiny point! The intimate scenes are fantastic and woven so well into the plot to build genuine safety, like the "tiramisu play" and cozy ravioli dates. The woods blowjob scene on the trail was incredibly sexy and endearing because right before it happens, Tristan's main concern is Jax's physical state, pleading, "It’s okay. But please, don't hurt yourself." It’s just the perfect blend of high heat and tender care.

The slow-burn progression nurtured by Tristan's calm patience is absolutely the book's greatest strength. I loved seeing "New Jax," who originally felt too broken to chase anyone, learn to channel his natural fury outward as a protective shield for Tristan, unleashing an intense, fiercely possessive "touch him and die" energy against Tristan's manipulative ex. The wedding venue, The Pointe, functions as a gorgeous found family support network that forms a protective bubble of safety and humor—complete with more chaotic interventions from Rain’s kitten, Mouse, who totally steals the spotlight again! I honestly wish I could work in a place like that. The ending completely avoids cheap, magical fixes; Jax isn't miraculously cured of his chronic back pain, and Tristan doesn't instantly erase a decade of relationship trauma. Instead, they choose to build a beautiful life that adapts to their realities, delivering a highly comforting, deeply romantic finish firmly rooted in absolute trust. While it works as a standalone, it is a much more satisfying read if you start from book one. It’s an absolute must-read that completely delivers!

This book was so so good! I normally gravitate towards darker, toxic books but I was pleasantly surprised at how much I loved this wholesome, healthy, and green flag couple! Jax and Tristan are the absolute sweetest! Their love felt so whole and deep and the spice was hot but it also felt so passionate. Tristan was so good to Jax, and so damn sweet but also HOT in the bedroom. I felt the depiction of Jax’s chronic pain was very realistic. As someone who both works in healthcare and is married to someone with chronic pain, I felt like Jax’s struggles with navigating the terrible US healthcare system and managing all of the other things that go along with a chronic illness were well depicted. I like that he found things that worked for him but he wasn’t magically cured. I haven’t read any of the other books in this series, but after meeting a lot of the side characters in this one I can’t wait to go back and read them!!

When lives keep matching up maybe it's meant to be

First off this is my first book not only in this series but by this author. I enjoyed the writing and the emotions that were clearly portrayed.

Jax is this fantastic character who is living without answers and this chronic pain situation that can leave him unable to do anything at all if he pushes too much. In PT he finds a bright spot in the form of a bearded man whom he never speaks too but definitely admires.

Tristan is an outdoor and hiking enthusiast. However, after a long distance hike has now left him healing from an injury. On top of this his ex can't stay out of his life. He is a people pleaser and will do anything for people he loves. When he finds himself drawn to a younger man he is determined to stay away from him.

Fate always has a way of putting people where they need to be. For both men that means they will both be working at The Pointe wedding hall.

I absolutely loved how much Tristan always took into account what may or may not work for Jax. I adore how this relationship grows. It moves quickly but not without all the love and support. Even when everything goes wrong Tristan has to fix it.

The found family in this book is top tier. Everyone always comes together to support each other in ever aspect.

I love the spice in this. It's not hard and heavy. Its filled with so much passion and care. Tristan is always careful about positioning and modifying whenever it becomes necessary. That shower scene at the end was creative and unexpected, making it perfect.

I will definitely be reading more from Sonia and going back to read the rest if this series.

Jax has been living with chronic pain for the past 4 years ever since his spine had herniated disks at just the age of 22.

Tristan has just gotten back from this thru-hike all the way through the Appalachian Mountains from Georgia to Maine, and he's basically the father Rain never had. Except now he did something for himself, and he has to come home and deal with reality, such as getting a good job and dealing with Rain's mother, his ex, Eve.

But also, he sustains a knee injury from his hike, and so has to do some physical therapy. And of course Jax, who has had chronic pain for many years, is doing physical therapy as well, and the two meet there. After Tristan is done and healed, though, they think they'll never see each other again, except they both quit their restaurant jobs and Tristan is directed toward The Pointe for a job by his stepson, Rain, and Jax by Finn, his brother.

When they see each other there, they get another chance to start a romance. (Also, Jax had heard Tristan on the phone with Rain and thought he'd been taken. Thankfully he wasn't.)

Tristan is so incredibly sweet and kind and wonderful. We all wish a man like this existed. Or if he does, he so so SO damn rare. I would snatch him up too if I could, Jax.

Which, Jax does pretty soon enough. The way he just goes for it when it's clear Tristan is NOT with anyone is hot. Their first kiss was so good.

Soon, they do start dating, even with Tristan's slight reservations over their age gap. With him being 38, close to 39 and Jax being 26. But that age gap doesn't matter all that much at those ages, and Tristan can't stay away for long, starting to fall for Jax as much as Jax is falling for Tristan.

I loved how this portrayed them falling in love. It was just so potent, the feelings between them. Jax, even though he's been so angry - or I should say, frustrated and upset - for years because of his chronic pain, is just so smitten with Tristan from the first moment. Tristan is too, but Jax just wants to jump that man - and would if he could.

Also, of course Tristan is an amazing man AND has a big dick 😂 Jax, you lucky lucky man haha.

Anyway, their connection is wonderful and I loved every bit of these two together. It didn't take me long to read this book because it was just so enjoyable and fun to read.

Except these two have two main problems to work through. Jax's chronic pain and how he deals with that, and Tristan and Eve, his ex, who is still sniffing around threatening to ruin things for Tristan and Rain. And also, there seems to be a line cook at The Pointe where Jax is working as a sous chef who seems to have it out for Jax.

There was a bit of drama with all of that, but thankfully not too much or too over the top. Tristan isn't perfect, but he's such a great guy and so wonderful to Jax that it was hard to come up with something to come between these two and cause some drama. But they sure tried (Eve) but thankfully it doesn't last for long.

These two getting their HEA was wonderful and I loved it. (I still maintain that Jax could have gotten a back brace and it would have at least helped him in some ways. At least while he was up and moving around during the day. The author said they also have chronic pain in ways like Jax, so I recommend a back brace to the author if it's their back that gives them pain.)

I definitely recommend this one, it's a must read if you've read the series so far up to this point. Seeing these two get their HEA together was great, they both deserved it so much. I look forward to reading Ash and Gideon's story next!

Well this was sweet as hell! I mean, tooth-achingly sweet! Like, I got a cavity now! This has a bunch of lines that shouldn’t mean much but punch you a bit in the gut. “There was a look of serenity on Tristan’s face that Jax had never seen in the mirror”. Ollie’s “it’s coming from inside the house” had laughing my ass off!

Tristan, who is just perfect, described Jax as ethereal, otherworldly, broodingly pretty. Swoon!!! The term “soulmates” plays in my mind with this couple. Not fated mates or together by design, but someone who matches with you at a specific time in your life, a puzzle piece that fits perfectly for who you have now become.

This book has you smiling a lot. Happy smiles with depth to it. Contented and almost wholesome in a way. Their feelings are splayed out so we can grasp onto each moment they are having. I love, I need, I want that feeling of being right beside them watching this bond form, this almost magic happening between 2 people who were never going to meet each other in different circumstances. That’s why I say it isn’t fated mates, it’s meeting someone along the way that just so happens to fill your cup. Certain things may happen in your life that thrust you in a different direction, but that also means different people will be thrown in your path. Loved the found family here! It’s written so organically that you understand where everyone fits. Loved, LOVED Jax’s mom! (And love that it was based on the author’s mom) “Felt her fury when she stepped into the ring”, this goddess of a women had me in my feels even though she isn’t in the story too much but damn, she made an impression! Marci is a close second! Even though both mains are wonderful, I fell for Jax. He’s brave, loving, and most of all determined. I’m a chef myself so I completely felt him. I so appreciated showing how disabilities could affect someone when it starts in the middle. It didn’t shy away from how it really is and the challenges and how it can happen to anyone. “How difficult it is to manage a world that is not built for us”. Its not the end but maybe the beginning of something different & new. It gives hope on still having a full life and things CAN get better. There’s always hope. That’s the word for this book. HOPE! Serene, quiet, background noise, but if you choose to reach for it, it’s attainable. And I love that message.

This book is fluff, and I mean that in the most affectionate and respectful possible. I was happy reading it. I loved the mains and the found family. I felt fulfilled and engaged, and downright giggling through most of it. It made my heart light. Like Jax said, “Love is a hell of a drug”, and that’s such beautiful thought.

I thought I loved Obsessed but this one has surpassed it! This was so good. The author's description of Jaxon's pain was so good, that I felt it deep down in my bones! This is epic writing. As I said in my previous review I think I am in love with them.

Jax, just as the author elaborated was kind of misunderstood, people might think he is angry but it is actually frustration, frustration from having his life ripped off from him in a blink of an eye. His feelings were valid and I am glad he had a supportive family that helped him get through it. And subsequently met Tristan, who also helped him. For all the people with chronic pain, I hope you have a solid support team even though the healthcare system can be pretty shitty sometimes. You are loved. Also, Fuck Derrick and that shitty woman, I had my doubts and it all came true. I am glad that towards the end Jax worked on his anger and slowly started accepting and adjusting to the truth of his situation, It might not relieve the pain but it definitely will give his mind some peace and ease his burden too. I love this man!

Tristan,the sweetest man. He was so considerate, sweet and a fucking keeper. He put in effort into he and Jax relationship so much always making sure he was comfortable enough and doing everything within his reach to make life easier for Jax. I also like that he slowly grew a backbone and faced off with that shitty ex of his, he was too much of a doormat that I was angry for him at sometimes in the story. Their decision to get therapy at the end was a very good one, they really went through a lot.

I cried at some parts of the story because I felt and understood their pain and struggles, the author did a good job at portraying that. And they were really annoying opposites attract each other kind of couple. They were the balm to each other's wounds. I also like how passionate they were about what they did. Jax with cooking and Tristan with hiking.

And the Pointe is the textbook definition of a found family, they were so good to each other. Always willing to support and protect. It is such a beautiful thing to see. They play a large role in the couples staying together because it would have all gone to shit without that solid wall to lean on.

All in all, this was a very emotional read, it took me through anger, happiness, sadness and sometimes completely heartbroken but I really loved. So if this is your vibe, you won't regret ever picking it up.

In exchange for an honest review i got to read the ARC version of Furous by Sonia Blue by the author.

Jax had everything he wanted he were working at completing his degree in school, working and rest of the time going out with his group of friends to party all night long when he didn't have to study. That was until one day he woke up and could not move his legs properly, after a month of pain that he could not explain the cause for. Five years later and a painfull surgery recovery Jax is in chronic pain and everything is just not going the right way for him until the moment he lays eyes on a the gorgeous man with the "beard" in the waiting room at the doctor's office.

Tristan is back home after a half a year journey on the Appalachian trail after a painfull and heartbreaking breakup after ten years with Rains mother, he is over the relationship and the time on the trail have made him free in a sense, he struggles to get used to life off trail again and works in a job he does not enjoy until one evening when Rain suggests to him that he should aply for a job at the Point the wedding venue place where Rain used to work before he joined Maison to work as a photographer and partner.

That's where his journey to finding love starts and to not spoil too much else I will just say that I love this story, the characters, the world Sonia have created is just such a beautiful gorgeous journey from start to finish so I highly recommend this final book in the Point of love Series. Lastly I wanna Thank Sonia for letting me read the ARC copy of book 3 and 4 in this series.

This story covers some things I know personally. I love to see how authors write stuff I have been through and if they show them healing as the book goes on. To me that's important because I didn't have healing for way too many years, so to see someone else did, even if it's only in a book, still means a lot to me in the end. I loved the way Sonia wrote Tristan & Jax's story and how it unfolds between the two of them. Jax has so much anger inside of himself that he needs to step back so that he doesn't ruin something that can change his life for the better. Losing everything several years before made Jax full of pain and anger that it stopped his life from going forward. But that changes when Tristan steps into his life. Tristan has always taken care of and put others first most of his life. After he goes on a long-distance hike, he comes home just not feeling right; he doesn't feel sure where he belongs in life. Even worse, his ass of an ex wants to cause him pain so he will sabotage anything positive in his life if he can. This story shows that even if you're hurt and angry, you can make your life better if you're willing and have the right people in your life. I found that beautiful. I look forward to more by this author for sure.

I don’t want to give too much of the plot away but all I can say is Tristan and Jax were the ultimate soulmates destined to meet whether it was at the Dr’s office, PT office or at their new workplace- The Point!

Jaxon 26 had a lot of anger bottled up from pain from his back operation four years ago and Tristan 39 was his anchor to calmness, patience and supplier of oxytocin 😈🍆 although Tristan is a people pleaser with a toxic ex, Jax teaches him how to be more assertive by saying no except in the bedroom…

I loved the continuation of The Point found family aspect that is growing more with the added staff and friends!

The plot was engaging and interesting with a bit of angst and darkness regarding a toxic ex, eating disorders, drug addiction, pain management and ableism but the most addictive drug was … LOVE!

I love this whole series and now we are nearly at the point where we say goodbye to all the amazing characters of Sonia Blue!🥺

The final book in the series will be about a new line cook and the house videographer- Gideon…

I read this book in 1 day yall! After reading Obsessed, didn’t think it would be much better but I was wrong! This is a great book and a wonderful story. Jax and Tristan are hands down a great couple. Sonia's books address heavy topics and in this case, it’s chronic pain and abusive relationships.

Jax has been living with chronic pain for the past 4 years, since his spine had herniated disks at the age of 22. Jax is doing physical therapy there as well, and that’s how the two meet.

They never think they will see each other again but they both end up at the pointe. When they see each other there, they get another chance to start a romance. Their connection is so sweet and I loved every bit of it. Tristan is an amazing man, he has a calming presence that helps take away frustrations and anger that weights Jax down. They were really an opposites attract each other kind of couple.

These two getting their HEA was wonderful and I loved it. I definitely recommend this book. I haven't read but one other book in this series, but after this one l will go back and read them all. If you like Spicy, age gap, chronic pain and mental illness rep, opposites attract, then you’ll love this read. 5/5

Still loving this series

All the couples in The Pointe of Love series are so good. Each pair is completely different, all with their own problems, and watching them fall in love and find peace and true happiness is lovely.
Jax suffers from chronic pain and Sonia didn't sugarcoat how difficult it was for him, managing the pain as best he can while faced with either indifference or downright rudeness from an unsympathetic healthcare system.
Tristan is also suffering physically, after a six month trail hike, but is recovering well. His problems stem from his ex, who's a complete bitch with at least a dozen screws loose. She's Rain's mother and we met her in Obsessed.
Jax and Tristan were so good together. It was more or less love at first sight, but circumstances meant it took them a while to even be able to talk to each other. The way Tristan was always considering Jax's pain and how to make life easier for him without babying him was so sweet.
This series has such a strong found family aspect. The Pointe is what brings each couple together, and all the side characters just make each book better. The shared warmth and affection is at the heart of the series and I love that.
The next book will finish the series and I can't wait to read Gideon and Ash's story.

Im not crying over Jax and Tristan you are!

These two were perfection from start to finish.

Jax is a little angel baby raver who through a sick twist of fate loses the ability to be well him, when he wakes up one more and cant feel his legs or move he becomes a prisoner to his new chronic pain. The way he still in his anger tried to find joy in things like cooking, and the way he accommodated his world around him to serve him was beautiful.

Tristan spent the last 10 years with a terrible ex girlfriend, after going on a thru-hike hes back home and ready to start his new life. And all of that is thrown a curve ball when he sees the beautiful man he saw at physical therapy at his new place of work, and as much as he wants to deny it he just wants Jax!

Their love story was 😍 so beautiful, the way Tristan did all he could for Jax to help him be able to live and thrive, and the way Jax did all he could to improve himself to feel worthy of Tristan.

Furious is a mix of sweetness and contemporary drama. In the fourth installment in the series we focus on Jax and Tristan. They both have their independent struggles. When it comes to Jax he is living with chronic pain and a new way of life. Tristan is dealing with a deranged ex and healing from a temporary injury. They met while going to physical therapy and despite the age difference and the abusive ex they fall for each other. I really enjoyed the descriptions of how it can be like to live with chronic pain. I have a family member who was in an accident and has chronic pain relating to the accident. It felt personal reading about how Jax is trying to live despite his physical problems. Tristan's ex made me want to through an iron at her 🤣. She was so annoying and manipulative and such a horrible mother. Sonia writes villains with a magic wand. You always wind up having strong feelings about them. Also, the intimacy scenes were soft and caring and was such a comfort to read. If you like contemporary mm romance with excellent chronic pain rep give this book a try. It was a pleasure to go back to the Pointe and witness the love between Jax and Tristan.

This was another really solid entry in the Pointe of Love series. This one tackles the topics of chronic pain and abusive relationships. I am continually impressed with this author's ability to find the balance between heavy topics while still not letting the story go *too* dark that it becomes an uncomfortable read. There's always the beacon of light of a HEA that keeps it motivating to read. There's a bit of an age gap in this, but fortunately it was not a main plot point because I don't mind if two consenting adults have 10+ year age gaps, personally.

I do kind of wish I had gone back and done a refresher on the previous books in the series. Although this could *technically* work as a standalone, the supporting cast of characters from previous books are quite prevalent in this, so I think it would make a lot more sense if you've read the previous books (and if they are fresh in your mind.)

I have loved everything I have read by Sonia Blue and this was no different. After reading Obsessed, I knew that I would LOVE Tristan. And I did- SO MUCH! He was the perfect calm, cool, and collected to Jax's emotional and physical turmoil. Throughout the story, we follow these characters as they connect the dots of their love story that was written in the stars. I loved getting to see Tristan work through his issues and Jax find a new purpose in his life. Of course, the staff of The Pointe play an important role, and it is always wonderful to see familiar faces. The pacing of this book was perfect- the reader gets to truly see and feel where the characters are coming from before going on their recovery journey. The found family and united community aspect of this book was a good balance to the heavier topics addressed.

I cannot wait for the fifth and final book in this series. I just know I am going to love it, too.

I jumped into this one because it’s out soon and I wanted to have my review of the arc in before that and I’m so mad at myself because of all the side characters I wish I started with one but I’m definitely going back and reading the others!
I loved their relationship it made me so mad seeing jax in pain but his hot bearded guy made up for it!
I love the pointe family they have the found family was so freaking funny and sweet I can’t wait to go back and see how it all developed
It was nice seeing how they both helped each other
Tristan helped Jax control his anger and Jax helped him see how to not be a pushover!
Also can we throw eve in a hole or something! Her getting her just desserts was chefs kiss!! I’ve only seen her in one book so I can’t imagine how much I’m gonna hate her after the rest
I really enjoyed watching their relationship develop
The care that Tristan had for Jax was amazing he helped in so many ways and was always considering his comfort

Furious by Sonia Blue is book 4 in The Pointe of Love series. I have really enjoyed this series so much. The found family aspect is amazingly well done here. In this installment, we meet Jax who is suffering from chronic back pain that is debilitating. He is angry about being on young and unable to move in the ways that he wants to. Tristan, Rain’s stepdad, has just returned from a thru-hike with a knee injury. Both men are immediately drawn to each other but Tristan thinks he is too old and Jax thinks that Tristan has a partner. Once they begin to date, they both realize that they have something to offer the other person. They truly balance each other out. Jax needs Tristan’s calm and Tristan needs Jax’s backbone. I loved that. It was so great to see the other characters that I have loved so much. I love this family. I accept wait to read the last book about Gabriel and Ash. I know it will be hard to leave these people, but I have enjoyed all my moment with them.

Loving this series and Furious was such a heartfelt and satisfying read. Jax and Tristan balanced each other perfectly, with Jax’s anger and pain meeting Tristan’s steady patience and kindness in a way that felt natural and deeply emotional. Their connection grew beautifully from friendship into something stronger, and I loved how supportive they were of one another through every challenge.

One of the highlights for me was the chronic pain representation. Jax’s struggles felt authentic and thoughtfully handled, showing both the physical and emotional toll without ever defining his entire character. Tristan was exactly the partner Jax needed, caring, dependable, and willing to stand by him without trying to "fix" him.

The romance was sweet, passionate, and full of chemistry, while the surrounding cast made me eager to explore the rest of the series. A wonderful blend of hurt/comfort, healing, and genuine love that left me with a smile by the end.

Jax and Tristan couldn't be more different, but they fit together perfectly.

They first meet during a physical therapy appointment before discovering their lives are connected through work, and I loved their chemistry right from the start. Tristan's calm, steady nature balances Jax's frustration and anger, while Jax's fierce protectiveness gives Tristan the support he's been missing after escaping a toxic relationship.

What stood out most to me was Jax's journey. Living with chronic pain after serious spinal injuries has completely changed his life, and the author does a great job showing the emotional toll that takes. It made it easy to understand why he struggles the way he does.

Watching these two find comfort, healing, and love with each other was incredibly rewarding. They truly brought out the best in one another.

Some chance encounters occur and then Jax and Tristan end up working at the same wedding hall. Their mutual attraction grows but Jax is struggling with his chronic back pain and Tristan is trying to contain his interaction with his toxic ex.

This story has two men unsure about their individual futures but wanting to see what can grow between them nonetheless. Jax’s medical condition is heartbreaking, and Tristan’s goodness while trampled on by some is appreciated by Jax and their found family of friends and coworkers. I enjoyed Jax and Tristan’s interactions, trying to take it slow and their respect for each other’s interests, goals, and work ethic. Jax’s pain was hard to read, but Tristan’s constant care was super swoony. I especially liked the found family aspect as everyone rallies behind both men.

I loved these characters! Jax is a chef struggling to come to terms with his chronic illness and resulting incidents of rage. During a round of PT he sees "Bearded Hot Guy". Tristan has escaped a toxic relationship and started his healing journey by hiking the Appalachin Trail. Now he has returned to rehab his knee, spend time with his son and find a way to fund his next hike. He sees an attractive man working out but he disappears before he can get the nerve to make a move. He secures a position at The Pointe and on his first day see that the man he was attacted to, Jax, is also working there. I enjoyed this story because there is no defined hero. Both men stand up for each other and help each other improve equally. And the portrayal of Jax's chronic illness is done with great empathy. This is the first time I have read anything by this author but I am going to download more so I can get a backstory on The Pointe

This book completely won me over!
Jax and Tristan are the kind of couple that feels sweet, passionate and deeply comforting from the very beginning. Their connection grows naturally, with the perfect balance of tenderness, chemistry, and emotional depth.
I loved how the story handled Jax’s chronic pain with honesty and care, without ever reducing him to it.
He is strong, vulnerable, determined, and so easy to root for, while Tristan is the kind of patient, steady, green flag hero who makes the romance feel safe and genuinely heartwarming.
The story touches on difficult topics but never loses its warmth, making it impossible not to become emotionally invested in Jax and Tristan’s journey.
Sweet, hopeful, spicy, and full of heart, this is a beautiful romance about finding someone who makes life feel lighter.
And once again, Sonia Blue proves what a talented storyteller she is.
I wholeheartedly recommend this novel and the entire series.

Book four in The Pointe of Love series was a quick read. It's a MM, hurt/comfort, age gap story with a disabled MC, Jax, and a white knight, Tristan. Chronic pain makes for a difficult character. I had a bit of a time connecting with Jax and did wonder if there was a real relationship developing between the two. Or was it simply the take care/ people pleaser in Tristan that drew him in. Thankfully, the found family of The Pointe act as grounding for the pair. Seeing some familiar faces made for smoother reading.
The pacing was smooth. The steamy sizzle was well done. The HEA aspect was missing. More like "as happy as possible". It was a somewhat depressing read for me, too angsty. I'm glad it was the series ender, because I wouldn't be looking for a book five.

Both Jax and Tristan are coming off of some difficult times in their lives. It is heart-breaking that Jax is dealing with chronic pain that is related to a back condition and it is affecting his outlook on life. Tristan is trying to get past interactions with his toxic ex. Tristan is a giving guy who has given so much and puts others first far too often for his own good. They both work at the Pointe, the friends and found family there are so supportive, and as they work around one another the attraction grows, even though neither would say he is exactly where he needs to go to start something. But the heart wants. And what was really neat with this pair was the way they were with one another as they grew their connection with one another.

First of all, I want to say how much I genuinely enjoy this series. Every couple feels unique in their own way and manages to completely pull you into their story. One thing I especially appreciate about Sonia’s books is how she addresses important topics such as addiction or, in this case, chronic pain.

Jax and Tristan could not be more different, yet they fit together so well. Opposites really do attract. They first meet at a doctor’s appointment, completely unaware that their paths are about to intertwine even more through work.

I loved the connection between them right from the start. Tristan has this calming presence that helps ease some of the frustration and emotional weight Jax carries with him every day. And honestly, I could understand Jax so well — living with constant pain 24/7 would wear anyone down.

The two of them completely won my heart. Truly such a wonderful couple.

This is the second time being introduced to this world of characters. Jax and Tristan shared their story of how they met and the trials/tribulations they went through.

Jax aspired to be a chef in the kitchen until a lie changing injury changed his trajectory. He first saw Tristan in the doctor's office and Jax fell in love for the Hot Bearded Guy. They kept crossing paths, but didn't talk until they started working together.

The spice was tantalizing and hot. Enjoyed those piercing details.

I loved the inclusivity of Jack's disability. He said it best "anyone can become disabled at any time, and most don't understand until it happens to them".

3.75 rounded up. 3rd person dual POV, MM, hurt/comfort, age gap, disability rep. I enjoyed reading this book. Hurt/Comfort and Age Gap are my favorite tropes. As someone who’s had chronic back issues for the last 20 years, I sympathized with Jax’s frustrations and anger. I loved the way Tristan took care of him and was always conscious of his comfort. The spice was really well written and the story was intriguing enough to keep me reading.

My only issue was the 3rd person POV. Sometimes I have problems staying in the story and not getting confused about whose POV I’m in, especially when it’s an MM. It’s just a technical issue with me personally. The story, emotion, spice, and characters were great and, like I said, I enjoyed reading this book.

When he's offered a job at The Pointe, he knows he'll do anything to make it work even if it means pushing himself to the brink. His found family- and his new crush, the sweet, patient Tristan - show him that maybe he doesn't have to break to have it all.

This was a great addition to the series that deals frankly with the reality of living with a chronic pain condition. Both MCs were wonderfully fleshed out and it was, as always, great to see the MCs from previous books serve as beloved secondary characters.
