It was nice to get Arlo (MMC) and Jasper’s (MMC) story after seeing the snippets of them in the previous books. You can tell that they really care for each other and I liked the facts that they were so clearly each other’s rock.
The book starts with their friends with benefits to more and, for an almost 400 page book, I feel like the romance was short lived. By the 60% mark, I didn’t know what more there really was to say which would explain why the story strays somewhat away from their romance to dealing with (together) what Arlo’s got going on. This was fine but I didn’t feel as invested in this part of the story.
My biggest gripe about this book is actually the number of times Jasper calls Arlo “baby boy” because if I asked you to guess, you probably wouldn’t have landed on 225 💀. Reading that pet name 225 in 392 is genuinely diabolical to me. 25% in I was side eyeing it but 80% in I really wasn’t sure how much longer I could take it 💀💀💀. At the very least 175 of them could be taken out 😬.

Sorry. I really really tried to love this as much as I loved Luca and Theo because I love almost everything from Morgan but this one went downhill from Chapter 1 and I had to finish out of loyalty and spite.
I expected maybe a lot since the defense training from Luca's story. I kinda expected it to revolve around that but noooo, the plot really has very little connection.
I loved Arlo and Jasper but OHMYGOD THE NUMBER OF TIMES JASPER CALLED ARLO ****"BABY BOY"**** IS LITERALLY JUST THE WEIRDEST AND MOST CRINGEY. I can only gag and tried to ignore but I reaalllly CANNOT! This escalated from the very 1st chapter and at 40%, I'm screaming at the top my mind and I'm really at 99% from DNF-ing because of that but I survived and will not ever read this again. This may have traumatized me of the word baby and baby boy for the rest of 2026. 🤣😂🤨

This was such a sweet and romantic book about someone who has been left to fend for himself for far too long and finally finding someone who wants nothing more than to take care of him.
Arlo and his siblings grew up with a mother struggling with addiction. He got out at eighteen when his mom was clean, but after she relapsed, his younger brother and sister were sent into foster care.
Now Arlo is doing everything he can to upgrade from his one-bedroom studio to a house so his siblings can come live with him. But life has never been kind to them, and now is no different.
Jasper wants nothing more than to take care of Arlo and make his life a little easier. Arlo struggles to trust him and accept that kind of care, but when he finally lets Jasper in, Jasper truly does everything he can to give Arlo and his siblings the world.
The system broke Arlo’s brother, but together, they are determined to show him that some people stay.
Some people keep showing up.
I’m really loving the Under the Silverpine Sky series.
Book two focused heavily on depression and much darker subjects, while this book felt like a ray of sunshine with the occasional passing cloud.

Oh, my heart! This book had me in my emotions whether from me going “awww” to just straight up tears to me wanting a man like Jasper because what in the world? How can the first book I read by Morgan make me feel so many emotions in one sitting?
I felt for Arlo so much because he’s been trying his hardest to get custody of his siblings since they are in foster care, for over a year.
I will say that one of my favorite parts of this book was when Jasper finds Salem in the barn. That whole scene when he talked about him walking across stage at graduation had me a blubbering me.
Jasper is definitely my new favorite book boyfriend. The way that he takes care of Arlo and steps up to the plate to help and be there for Arlo when he needs him the most is so beautiful. How he helps him with his siblings is everything for me and more.
The found family is so beautiful. From how I w get the characters from the first books, it makes me definitely want to read their stories. How they help Arlo and Jasper with Salem and Nora is absolutely everything these two needed.
What I loved was how alike Arlo and Salem are when it comes to being happy. I felt for both of them in total different situations. Salem because he just expects to go back into the foster care system.
When Jasper told Arlo he loved him and Arlo runs off for a bit, I wanted to ask him what the heck but he was so worried and he didn’t want him to want him because of the situation. These two made me want a love just like this. From Jasper saving Arlo in so many different situations, I was absolutely in love with these two.
And the intimacy was so special. Definitely a lot of hot moments with these two.
This book deserves all the stars and that says a lot because this is my very first book and I ate this up in one day. Please read your trigger warnings because your mental health is everything.

This book hit me differently than any other Morgan Sloan book I’ve read. It’s still incredibly well written and emotionally impactful, but Morgan really shifted gears with this story and took me on a journey I wasn’t expecting.
The earlier books in the series were much heavier emotionally and deeply rooted in hurt/comfort themes. Rescued still carries those elements, but it feels lighter in a way that allows the healing and connection between the characters to shine through. Both Arlo and Jasper are dealing with past trauma, but together they find comfort, peace, and a sense of healing that was real.
I completely fell in love with Jasper, he’s officially my new favorite green flag among the many amazing green flag perfect men Morgan writes.
Arlo and Jasper’s road to a HEA is very different from the previous books, and I don’t want to spoil any part of that journey. What I will say is this, Morgan Sloan continues to prove why she is one of the best indie authors out there.

I will have to say I didn’t cry as much during this book as I did in the previous, but I will have to say I fell in love with this family even more
This is not just a love story between two people. This is a family love story. This is a love story about a family about bringing an entire family into your love. Story about falling in love with more than one person about discovering what it’s like to immediately love a child so much that you’ve never experienced that love before
It’s about discovering how to heal a broken heart. It’s about discovering when you’ve lost the ability to be a sibling getting to be that sibling again.
Morgan keeps giving us a chance to heal a part of our soul that we didn’t know was broken in a part of our family that may have been fractured to re-heal
As a little sister, I see a lot of my big sister in these characters and how much I treasure that relationship and how much I don’t wanna lose it so thank you for understanding how much I know that even through the torture we put our siblings through my big sister will always have my back. Love me and be there for me.

There was something really special about watching these two. Instead of spending the entire book denying their feelings, we get to see them navigate everything that comes after—the fears, the responsibilities, the difficult choices, and all the little moments that make a relationship feel real.
Arlo had my whole heart. The love he has for his siblings and everything he’s willing to do for them made me root for him from the very first page.
And Jasper? Absolutely obsessed. Protective firefighter, secretly soft, completely devoted, and calling Arlo baby boy every chance he gets? Yeah, I stood no chance.
Morgan Sloan never fails to give me characters that are easy to love and a story full of heart. Add the small-town setting, the age gap romance, and all the family moments, and I was completely invested.
A beautiful ending to a series I’ve truly enjoyed. ❤️

There was a lot to love in this book. It had my eyes leaking on and off (mostly on) from very early on to the very end. This author just gets to me for some reason, and I usually spend their books crying buckets. While I had been dreading the expected relationship angst, I was also looking forward to it, and I loved it. It hurt a lot but everything that came after made up for it. It always hurts extra when you’ve got two sweet and kind characters who want and love each other, but can’t be together fully for one reason or another. I of course wanted them to be happy, but I also thought the pacing felt a little off, as the book was sort of split in two distinct parts, with the first half focused on one thing and the second half something else, but with a break in the middle with something else going on (I loved the ‘something else’ a lot, don’t get me wrong). I think it would be difficult to pace it differently, but the switch from a lot of heartache and pain to things being quite peachy was a bit abrupt, even if it made sense for Jasper and Arlo.
I really, really loved the pet names, copious amounts of hugs and cuddles, and the way the characters talked to each other. They are sweet and kind, and they make up for the hurt they accidentally caused each other by telling each other how much they mean and that they love each other. But, the latter was overdone a bit, honestly. I think the book contains the most amount of ‘I love yous’ I’ve ever read, which was very cute in the beginning, but it started to lose its effect after a while, especially once it started to stand out. The same goes for the 'baby boy’ pet name. Sometimes you can have too much of a good thing. Both of these are definitely me being picky, but unfortunately (and fortunately), when you read books with a good story and great writing, the little things stick out more.
My final sort of criticism is the unfortunately repetitive sex scenes. There were a lot of them, and at least half of them were pretty much the same. While sex was important for the story and a big part of the MCs’ dynamic early on, several of the scenes could’ve been left out without affecting the story or the relationship development. I really loved the spice in the first two books in the series, so this one didn’t quite live up to that for me.
Jasper and Arlo were really great together, and I adored the little family they made. I hope the entire series gets released in audio, because I’ll definitely want to read them again. As I mentioned at the start, there was a lot to love in this book, but it didn’t quite live up to my expectations as a whole. I would definitely still recommend it tho, and I recommend reading the other books first, as parts of Jasper and Arlo’s story takes place during those, and I think the emotional impact is greater if you get the whole picture.

There was a lot to love in this book. It had my eyes leaking on and off (mostly on) from very early on to the very end. This author just gets to me for some reason, and I usually spend their books crying buckets. While I had been dreading the expected relationship angst, I was also looking forward to it, and I loved it. It hurt a lot but everything that came after made up for it. It always hurts extra when you’ve got two sweet and kind characters who want and love each other, but can’t be together fully for one reason or another. I of course wanted them to be happy, but I also thought the pacing felt a little off, as the book was sort of split in two distinct parts, with the first half focused on one thing and the second half something else, but with a break in the middle with something else going on (I loved the ‘something else’ a lot, don’t get me wrong). I think it would be difficult to pace it differently, but the switch from a lot of heartache and pain to things being quite peachy was a bit abrupt, even if it made sense for Jasper and Arlo.
I really, really loved the pet names, copious amounts of hugs and cuddles, and the way the characters talked to each other. They are sweet and kind, and they make up for the hurt they accidentally caused each other by telling each other how much they mean and that they love each other. But, the latter was overdone a bit, honestly. I think the book contains the most amount of ‘I love yous’ I’ve ever read, which was very cute in the beginning, but it started to lose its effect after a while, especially once it started to stand out. The same goes for the 'baby boy’ pet name. Sometimes you can have too much of a good thing. Both of these are definitely me being picky, but unfortunately (and fortunately), when you read books with a good story and great writing, the little things stick out more.
My final sort of criticism is the unfortunately repetitive sex scenes. There were a lot of them, and at least half of them were pretty much the same. While sex was important for the story and a big part of the MCs’ dynamic early on, several of the scenes could’ve been left out without affecting the story or the relationship development. I really loved the spice in the first two books in the series, so this one didn’t quite live up to that for me.
Jasper and Arlo were really great together, and I adored the little family they made. I hope the entire series gets released in audio, because I’ll definitely want to read them again. As I mentioned at the start, there was a lot to love in this book, but it didn’t quite live up to my expectations as a whole. I would definitely still recommend it tho, and I recommend reading the other books first, as parts of Jasper and Arlo’s story takes place during those, and I think the emotional impact is greater if you get the whole picture.

Going into this one, I – incredibly foolishly – thought it wouldn’t be able to make me as emotional as the other two books in the series. Now let me be clear, there’d been no evidence at all to suggest this – Arlo’s past had been kept a mystery, and we’d only had hints of his interactions with Jasper previously – but for some reason, I’d taken that to mean that I wouldn’t be as emotionally torn apart as with Sheltered and Unchained. Oh, HOW WRONG I WAS!
I seriously underestimated the power of Arlo and Jasper going in – and Morgan’s talent at writing heart wrenching stories (silly me considering this is the third book in this series and every book has hit deep) – but I was utterly, 100% under their spell and couldn’t look away. Even when those emotional blows came hard and heavy, repeatedly. My poor, poor heart wasn’t just stomped on, it was BULLDOZED over again and again, right from the very start, and I just kept going back for more. Despite those sucker punches, there was absolutely no way I wasn’t seeing these two get their HEA.
Hooked doesn’t feel a strong enough word for how very invested I was in this book, this couple, this family. From seeing these two engage in a one-night stand which turns into a complicated situationship to seeing them navigate a new family dynamic soon after Arlo finally decides to stop running from his feelings, it was the ultimate emotional rollercoaster, and I didn’t want to miss one second of this ride.
Despite Arlo’s denial of his real feelings and insecurity of his worthiness, one thing always remains clear: Jasper equals safety and he’s the person Arlo seeks out when he needs to escape. It HURT to see them both hold themselves back from what they could be: Jasper keeping his love restrained, and Arlo holding back the truth of his situation when the firefighter would offer all the support he needs. And then after Jasper finally declares his love aloud… well, you’ll need to dive in yourself to find out (bring tissues!).
I loved seeing the lengths that Jasper goes to to ensure Arlo gets his wishes regarding his siblings when the younger man is unable to do it himself *sigh* the firefighter was getting seriously big heart eyes from me when he did that! And for THAT convo with Salem. If I wasn’t already smitten with him, even just one of these events would have done it. And when Jasper calls Arlo, “Baby boy”, I melted. Every. Single. Time. Without fail.
These two didn’t have it easy. They got tested to the extreme, but it only proved just how unbreakable their connection is and proved to a certain spitfire that there is so much more to them than just sex, that he is genuinely loved for who he is as a person. They were truly meant to be. And everything they have to navigate, the steep learning curves they must overcome, it made their HEA even sweeter. This family helps each other to heal, reassuring each other that they deserve to be loved. I was absolutely crying in pure joy at that beautiful ending.
I loved how all the MMCs from the other books come together to help these two with their new situation. Found family at its best.
Rescued is an amazing book to finish off a superb series. If you love an emotional series, this one MUST be on your immediate tbr. Morgan will break your heart many times, emotionally strip you raw, but when she puts it together, it will have plenty of extra shine.

After really enjoying Sheltered and absolutely loving Unchained, I couldn't wait for Arlo's story. I started it on release day—which rarely happens because I usually have to finish another book first. This time, though, I couldn't get into anything else for a few days. Maybe I'd simply been waiting for this one. ☺️
This wasn't quite the emotional knockout that Unchained was for me, but it didn't need to be. Where Book 2 made me feel the weight of Theo's depression and the quiet hope that came with watching him slowly heal, Rescued wrapped my heart in a warm blanket and let it rest. It's a comfort read that lets you enjoy the happy ending instead of saving it for the final five pages.
I loved that this book wasn't afraid to let its characters be happy. Yes, there was drama, danger, and emotional healing, but unlike the previous books, this one felt like a warm hug. We get to watch this little family become exactly what they were always meant to be. And, something I absolutely love: the children become part of the story instead of an obstacle.

This book surprised me right from the start. Instead of slowly building toward the first kiss, it opens with Arlo and Jasper already in a physical relationship. Normally, that's not something I enjoy, but here it worked perfectly because the intimacy was never just about sex—it was about two men who were already deeply in love but convinced the other deserved someone better. Every scene was full of longing, tenderness and everything they couldn't bring themselves to say.
The structure was generally very unusual. By just over 20%, we'd already had the big emotional conversation and the "I love yous." Instead of dragging out misunderstandings until the final chapters, the story became about something much more interesting: building a life together.
"I get the kids and Jasper. I get to have everything. How fucking lucky am I?"
Everything was perfect at 27%, and I was terrified of what was going to happen! Ok, something DID happen, but everything turned out well, and there was another "happy ending" around the 50% mark.
Jasper completely stole my heart. From the moment he learned about Salem and Nora, there wasn't a second of hesitation. He didn't see Arlo's siblings as baggage or a complication—he simply wanted them. He wanted to love them, protect them, and become their family. Watching him naturally step into that role was one of the most beautiful parts of the book. He isn't just a wonderful boyfriend—he's exactly the kind of safe adult every child deserves
The story did become a little predictable for me in the second half. I guessed Salem would run away—and exactly where he'd go.
But predictability isn't always a flaw. Sometimes it simply means the story has laid such strong emotional groundwork that the characters make exactly the choices you'd expect. The question then isn't what happens, but how it feels when it does.
I simply loved this book! It made me feel safe, hopeful, and at home, just like Jasper did for Arlo, Salem, and Nora. 💜📚

I’ve been waiting for Arlo and Jasper’s story since book one, and while Unchained is still my favorite in the series, Rescued totally delivered.
I really liked that this one follows a slightly different path from a lot of romances. Arlo and Jasper are already in love and committed to each other before the book even hits the 25% mark, so the story isn’t really about waiting for them to admit their feelings. It’s about everything that comes after: choosing each other, facing the messy parts of the past, figuring out what “happily ever after” looks like when love alone isn’t enough.
Arlo has been such an intriguing character from the beginning. He’s always had that little cloud of mystery around him, guarded in a way that made it obvious he was protecting more than just himself. In this one, we finally get to understand where that comes from. We learn about his difficult upbringing, how he grew up in poverty, and the way he tried to hold his younger siblings together while everything around them kept falling apart. His need to get them back is what drives him and keeps him moving.
And then there’s Jasper, who’s caring and steady without ever feeling flat. He’s completely devoted to Arlo, but what makes him work for me is that his love shows up in practical ways. He doesn’t just say the right things, he changes his life and shows up when it matters. He gives Arlo the kind of support he’s never really been able to count on before.
Small town, found family, emotional healing, people slowly learning they deserve good things, give me all of that and I’m pretty much hooked. This series has all of those things in abundance but Rescued uses them in a way that feels special because the idea of family is at the core.
I also loved that after all the roadblocks, things do work out for them in a way that feels earned. Their love and chemistry are incredible, and even though age gaps aren’t usually my thing, it works for me here. Arlo needs someone with Jasper’s patience and emotional maturity, and Jasper needs someone who challenges him to build a life that is bigger and softer than the one he had before. They make sense together, not just romantically, but as partners.
The spicy scenes are hot and well written, but they never take over the story. As usual, the characters and their journey stay at the heart of everything. It felt intimate because of who they are together, not just because of the physical chemistry.
This book rounded out the series beautifully. It gave Arlo and Jasper the story they deserved and brought the found family feeling full circle. Another hit from Morgan Sloan, who’s very quickly becoming one of my auto-buy authors. I love the warmth and heart she puts into her books, and I’m already excited to see what she writes next.

Another Silverpine book and I really enjoyed it! I have been wondering what the story would be for Arlo and Jasper and it did not disappoint!
The things I liked about the story. I really loved the connection between Arlo and Jasper. The way the two connected and the emotions they felt for each other were heartfelt and true. I also loved the background of the story. I felt so bad for Arlo when he had to take care of his siblings but he couldn’t get them because of his financial/housing situation. You could tell the love he had for his siblings and how much he really cared for them. The way in which the story wrapped that all together was beautiful and I’m happy he got his HEA with his siblings and Jasper.
Another thing I liked was Jasper’s inner thoughts with the love he had for Arlo. Poor Jasper had to deal with Arlo’s denial and how miserable he was when Arlo left him high and dry after confessing his love.
I do love when the other characters from the books showed up in the story. I knew they would be in there but it was great to see them a lot throughout the book and not just a few times and having them not super intertwined in the story.
A few things I didn’t like. I think these were more personal preferences though. Baby boy was used SO many times. I love the nickname but it was used so much that I feel it lost the cute meaning behind it. Another thing that I wasn’t a huge fan of was how many pages were dedicated to them saying they loved each other. I love emotional and heartfelt books but I feel this book had so many pages of “I love you’s” that it was almost too much. One other little thing that I was confused about was how Jasper was bummed that Arlo didn’t tell him what he was struggling with his siblings and stress with that, but he didn’t tell Jasper about his sister. While the situation was different, I feel that was something he could have disclosed as well and maybe that would have helped Arlo to open up.
Overall, I really liked the book and do highly recommend this. The book was emotional in a positive light between the MMCs, the love that Arlo had for his family, and the emotion that you could feel between Arlo and Jasper (even when they had their push and pull). I definitely recommend reading this (and the other books in the series!)

Ugh, screw these two for making me cry so much. I was not expecting what this book delivered at all. And I saw that as a good thing; based on the tropes and synopsis, as well as the glimpses we go of Arlo and Jaspers in the previous two books...what the core plot actually ended up being was the furthest thing I was expecting. But I loved it and it was honestly refreshing.
This book is a very family centric book, with a majority of the plot points the deal with Arlo and Jasper's relationship being more or less buttoned up by the 30-40% mark. In addition to a lot of their early development happening off page/in summary. And while I didn't mind it too much since I was still intrigued by the overarching story, I could also see this being a dealbreaker for people who are hoping for something more romantic. That is not to say there aren't any cute/tender couple-y moments, just that their relationship largely takes a backseat to the family plot in most of the latter 60%.
Arlo's siblings, Salem and Nora are truly a delight. Salem and Jasper heart to heart towards the end had me tearing up for sure. We also got glimpses of the couples from the previous two books; to which I really enjoyed Theo and Hunter's roles in this book. Liam....not so much. His whole conversation with Arlo when he finally opened up about what was happening just rubbed me the wrong way, along with his behavior in most of the book. I loved Liam's role in book 2 but he felt like an entirely different character in this book; and how he reacted to Arlo confiding in Theo left a bad taste in my mouth. Especially consider everyone is suppose to be friends.
Also for how family centric this was, I was really bummed we didn't get any closure with Jasper's mom. I was really hoping for a reunion or finally confrontation. Because he truly didn't deserve how she treated him.
Overall, I still really loved this. I think everyone deserves a partner as loving and supportive and Jasper. It was just delightful watching him be the doting partner and guardian. And I forever want to bundle Arlo up in the tightest hug imaginable.
I'm 99.9% sure this is the last book in this series...as the only person I could see this expanding too is Salem but that seems unlikely. But regardless is was a great addition. I'll be looking forward to Morgan's future works.

Morgan Sloan is a must read author that keeps finding new ways to wreck my heart. Rescued was no different. Rescued is book 3 in the Under the Silverpine Sky series and is Arlo and Jasper’s story. This series in and of itself will have you in emotional turbulence but Arlo and Jasper’s story hits a little different. This one was personal to me in that I am an older sister, witnessed things most children shouldn’t and protected my little brother. Siblings share a bond like no other and Morgan captured this beautifully and authentically. My heart fell to pieces and was mended in the span of a few hundred pages. Let’s get into it.
Arlo and Jasper meet through their friend group. One night of reckless need and passion turns into a long standing hookup, friends with benefits situation. They unknowingly share a commonality of being older siblings, trying to be the protector and provider to the younger siblings. Each have been broken in a way that has molded them into who they are.
Jasper is a firefighter dedicated to saving lives and preventing tragedy. Arlo works at the local diner trying to provide for his younger siblings. These two burn hot but stay in denial about their feelings until they finally confront them.
I love this series so much because we see small town life, found family and a town that really pulls together to support their own. This story in particular strikes home because it discusses parents who fail their children, the chaos of the foster care system and siblings that will go above and beyond to protect and provide for their own.
For someone who is coping with his own tragedy, Jasper is a walking green flag that offers all of the love and support Arlo could ever ask for. His patience and endurance was remarkable. He’s so down bad for Arlo and it’s the sweetest thing.
For Arlo’s age, (23), he’s incredibly mature and he’s had to be. It makes me sad that he spent his childhood raising his siblings but I found him to be a strong, well rounded character. His strength and maturity is endearing.
I loved Arlo’s relationship with Luca and Theo. These three deserve all of the happiness in the world. Their interactions and their friend group is so sweet with so many humorous nuances. I absolutely love this book and this entire series. Infinity stars.

Under the Silverpine Sky Series will forever be in my heart, the amount of tears I shed for these boys! Each book with its small town vibe and found family of great friends has these amazing MMC's that fight for their HEA. But this book and these two beautiful men are my absolute favorite. Jasper and Arlo are everything that is sweet and good.
They already have a sort of established relationship that is stuck between friends with benefits and not ready to commit to the feelings they both have for each other. All Jasper wants is to take care of Arlo.
Jasper is a firefighter and a natural caretaker, he wants to provide the safety Arlo so desperately seeks and is willing to stop at nothing to ensure Arlo is loved, seen and worthy.
Sweet Arlo has so much on his shoulders. He wants to make enough money to purchase a house and retrieve his siblings from foster care, Arlo having to grow up rather quickly has learned to bottle his emotions in and take on responsibilities of parenting while still being a child himself.
Leaning on Jasper is his saving grace, once he finally realizes that Jasper is truly his person, not just some crush and there is so much love between the two of them, they work together to ensure that Arlo's siblings, Salem and Nora are able to come home to him.
Salem and Nora are amazing kids. It is a rough start for all of them to get acclimated with each other, but the healing they experience together as they begin to create their new family dynamic is so beautifully written. This sweet little family's growing pains are so real and raw. These poor kids have lived in fear for so long it is hard for them to trust security. Watching them navigate their new life is very emotional. But with the wonderful people of this small town and especially our favorite found family from Sheltered and Unchained making an appearance, you already know these kids are safe and loved.

I don't know if there's ever been a series where I have personally related on such a deep level to all of the books besides this one. There's something beautiful that happens in the series and that is watching people realize that; you are not your past or your trauma or your pain or struggles. You are or so much more than that and you are worthy of it. One of the most beautiful things that happens in every single one of these books is wherever they started at the beginning of the book they come out so much stronger and they fight to be so much stronger but they also build a village of love and support and acceptance and it is fucking beautiful. Rescued was all of that wrapped into one.
I don't know how to get too deep into this without spoiling it so I'm just going to say that Jasper and Arlo are two souls that were 100% meant to be together, not only to heal pieces of them that they so desperately needed healed but to find the love that they're both worthy of. It was beautiful to read, all of it. These two do have a journey together for sure but what I loved is that it wasn't them against each other it was them working together even when it was hard and scary! This whole book was just very realistic and human and real and everything ust felt so raw that I felt like I was watching someone I love overcome something important. Morgan has a way of writing characters that makes me fall so deeply in love with them and their whole story, I adore it.
There are two other characters that come into this book that also learned that they are worthy of it all and it had me sobbing more times that I could count. Family and love is such a powerful thing and it is so strong in this book. All in all this whole book and series is just a beautiful journey of finding your village and your own strength and it's done so beautifully. Can't wait to see what Morgan gives us next 🩶

The Perfect HEA
Having seen glimpses of Arlo and Jasper in Sheltered and Unchained, I was really excited to read their story. I'm not sure why I didn't expect it to hit as hard as the previous books in the series, but I was wrong. We got all the emotion right from the start. Poor Arlo just had so much to deal with, it was no wonder why he didn't want to complicate his life any further by giving in to feelings for Jasper. The back story for Jasper was no less heartbreaking and had shaped him into a protector who just wanted to take care of Arlo in any way he could. You knew when they'd already sorted their relationship out by 25% that there was going to be plenty more drama to come. It wouldn't be a Morgan Sloan book if everything was resolved that easily.
Without too many spoilers, I think my own heart stopped around the same time Arlo's did. I don't know which MC I was more concerned for at that point. Watching Jasper and Arlo's relationship move forward from there was beautiful. Don't be mistaken that the title of the book means that one MC is responsible for all the rescuing. Physically that might be the case, emotionally they, and their found family, are all equally responsible for rescuing each other.
Aside from Jasper and Arlo's relationship, I also loved how Jasper and Salem's bond formed throughout the story. Jasper was able to prove to Salem that not all adults will let him down but he also listened to Salem and saw him in ways that he'd probably never been seen before.
I love a series all the more when characters from previous books play a strong role in the future books. Sheltered and Unchained had the obvious connection between Luca and Theo having escaped from the same abusive partner - I wasn't sure that the same bond would extend to Arlo and Jasper's story. I shouldn't have made that assumption. Each of the MCs from the previous books played their part in this story and gave Arlo and Jasper the support network they needed. We also see glimpses of their continued growth and healing. Perhaps the strength of all the MCs as individuals and as a found family unit is why I could not choose a favourite book in this series.

The AUDACITY of Morgan Sloan to do this to us again! Yet there I sat through every word, every giggle, every tear, every heartfelt word and heartbreaking moment. Soaking it all in.
I remember when I was reading the arc of Sheltered in November last year where we first met Arlo and Jasper wanting their story so bad In fact I mentioned it in my review. So for 8 months I have waiting, after reading Unchained I wanted it more, then the teasers started for Rescued and I realized the story I wanted, the one I was waiting for was not what we were going to get. No it was so much more.
Jasper is down bad for Arlo, loves him in spite of him keeping him at arms length. He see a whole future with Arlo when for a year he only receives scraps. Arlo, is just as down bad for Jasper but his life is on the cusp of great changes and feels he can’t be selfish wanting what he wants with Jasper if he is going to follow through on those changes. Then one morning it comes to a head, words said that can’t be taken back, reactions leaving them both devastated and the days that followed left them both so brokenhearted.
What happens after that moment, that is when the love story that changes lives really begins.
I don’t want to give too much away as I feel this book will hit you the hardest if you aren’t prepared for what happens next. You can expect spice, found family, friendship, care taking, Jasper simping like no one saw coming, Arlo finding out true strength comes from letting people in, Theo and Hunters goats and Austin and Luca game nights and silent conversations.
Let me tell you, those tears, those giggles, those jaw dropping moments I spoke about that happen in this book has solidified it as not just one my my top reads for the year but as one of the best books I have ever read. While you may not consider this a “traditional romance” book that is what makes it special. It is spicy, sweet but the driving force is love and finally, FINALLY finding your family and your happy ever after.

This is the third book in this series. I was really looking forward to learning more about Arlo as he is so mysterious in the first 2 books. What we learn is kinda heartbreaking and also inspiring.
His home life was full of abuse and neglect and he was forced to become a live in parent to his siblings. Now as an adult he is desperately trying to get enough stability in his life to get those sibling out of foster care and living with him.
Jasper has always crushed on Arlo even though Arlo is 14 years younger, he seems older than he is. When Arlo comforts Jasper after a rough job, they begin a FWB situation that Jasper really wants to mean more.
I really liked the narrative in this story, the themes discussed are thought out, the relationship feels organic, and the issues that arise and the character reactions feel like things that would happen in real life.
This book just didn’t hit the same for me as the first 2 books though. The passing felt off, and rather than a first act, second act, third act, it felt almost like 3 mini stories with the same people in them. The bulk of the book felt almost like “a day in the life of”. It was a lot of what Arlo and Jasper everyday like was. It went on for a long time and when we get to what is the third act, it’s almost at 80% of the book. They say I love you constantly, and while sweet, in a book it just feels flat and repetitive and takes away the impact of the words and pivotal or important places.
What I really loved about the story is the way the friend group and Jasper supports Arlo and helps him learn that he can rely on others and he deserves to be able to lean on others. There is never any judgement in their found family group. Jasper is so sweet in doing everything he can to create his found family and help make everyone feel safe and provided for.
I do love Arlo and Jasper story, i just feel like it wasn’t as seamlessly told as the first 2 books. It’s just as sad, had me tearing up several times, the comfort to the hurt is definitely there, and there is a hard earned HEA.

Wow. My favorite in the series! And that's saying something because I love this series. Arlo is wonderful. He's skittish and scared, which makes sense given his past and his current struggles, but he's also so sweet and hardworking and caring. Jasper is precious. He's such a dad from the beginning. Like, he's kind of corny and so sweet and caring and giving. He loves Arlo so much, he'll take the bare minimum and just hope for more.
Choosing to show the back and forth of a year long relationship in the other books was a choice that definitely paid off. These two have been so unsubtle about things and the glimpses we get from other character's POVs have been so sweet that I didn't realize I didn't need an entire book about their back and forth. I already knew it. I love jumping right in to them being in love (and scared of it). It was honestly so precious to watch them grow together, go through trauma together, and raise some traumatized kids together.
I thought all the MCs, including the kids, and the SCs from past books were amazing as always. I love seeing them again. I love this little found family they've created and I love this family Jasper and Arlo create, too. The parenting struggles felt so real and valid given Salem and Nora's pasts. It was precious to see Jasper fall so head over heels for his little family and I can see

I’ve been looking forward to Arlo and Jasper’s book since their first longing looks in Sheltered and this was everything I hoped it would be and more. There’s something about friends with benefits that are in a full blown relationship, but are too afraid to say it out loud, that makes me so happy when they finally get it together. I’ll never get over how quickly Jasper realizes that he wants everything involved with loving Arlo, even a couple of kids he never expected.
As much as this is a story about the love between Arlo and Jasper, it’s equally a story about the love between siblings. Arlo is doing everything he can, even putting his own happiness to the side, to be with his siblings again. Even though there is a ROUGH start to getting custody, these four make the sweetest family. Jasper carries so much guilt over the death of his sister and watching him finally realize that it wasn’t his fault was everything. The one-on-one conversations between Salem and Jasper were some of my favorite moments while reading. The trust Salem was able to find after being let down by so many adults, coupled with the sibling dynamic Jasper was able to gain again after losing his sister were so beautiful.
Found family is one of my favorite tropes and the family created throughout all three books in this series is so so good. I loved the venting, advise, companionship, and willingness to drop everything to help each other that is woven throughout this entire book. I’ll never be upset with seeing our fav characters again either.
Another fantastic story by Morgan and I can’t wait for everyone to fall in love with Arlo, Jasper, Salem, and Nora too.

This series already owns a permanent place in my heart, but Rescued might just be my favourite book of them all.
Jasper and Arlo completely stole my heart. From the very beginning, you can feel how much they care about each other, even while they're both trying to pretend their relationship is something less than it is. Jasper is the ultimate caretaker—patient, supportive, and completely devoted to making sure Arlo feels safe, loved, and valued. The way he showed up for Arlo over and over again made me swoon.
And then there's Arlo. My heart broke for him. He's spent so much of his life carrying responsibilities no child should ever have to carry, all while desperately trying to reunite with his younger siblings. Watching him slowly allow himself to lean on Jasper and accept the love and support around him was incredibly emotional.
What really made this story special for me was the family dynamic. Salem and Nora were wonderful additions, and seeing this little family learn to trust, heal, and find their footing together had me tearing up more than once. Their struggles felt real, and so did the hope and love that slowly grew around them.
As always, the found family in Silverpine was perfection. Seeing familiar faces show up to support Arlo, Jasper, and the kids was one of my favourite parts of the book.

I have been waiting impatiently for Arlo and Jasper's story ever since their first meeting in book one, and it absolutely did not disappoint.
This wasn't just a love story, it was also a story about sacrifice, resilience, and the unbreakable bond between siblings.
Arlo has worked tirelessly to try build a life good enough to make one big goal come true. Every choice he makes and every sacrifice he endures is for the two people he loves more than anything, his siblings. Because of that, he keeps parts of himself hidden from Jasper, only ever allowing him small glimpses behind the walls he's built.
Jasper is down bad from the very beginning. What starts as something casual quickly becomes so much more. He wants every part of Arlo. The good, the broken, and the secrets Arlo keeps buried. He wants Arlo to lean on him completely, but instead has to settle for whatever pieces Arlo is willing to share.
These two completely consumed me. Their connection felt effortless, deep, and destined, the kind of love that feels like soulmates finding each other. Jasper was always Arlo's safe place and he wanted to give him the world, whatever he needed, Jasper wanted to be the one to provide it.
They both carried their own demons, but they faced them together, proving that love isn't about fixing someone, it's about standing beside them through the hardest moments.
The journey to their HEA was bumpy but their love for each other was truly something beautiful and special.

I was really excited to read this, as I'd heard great things about Morgan Sloan in general and this series in particular, my friend had cried her way through the first two books and I was very much looking forward to finding out what all the fuss was about. The writing was very good and I would definitely read this author again, they definitely have skills even though this book wasn't my favourite. It's a real shame I didn't read the first books in the series, as it seems a lot of their story is told in those books, and with this one it really felt like I missed the point where they actually fell in love, it just jumped to mutual pining. There was also way too much sex, most of it quite samey and repetitive, and I ended up skipping sex scenes. I very much enjoyed the parts where they weren't having sex, and I got very invested in Salem, which again was something of a problem because I was more interested in him than the actual MCs. But overall it was a decent (indecent) read, and I did enjoy some of it, I just found it a little frustrating because it could have been so much better. Also, saying ‘baby boy’ 225 times in a 400 page book is way too many. However, although this was a 3.5 rating for me and not the knockout I was hoping for, I would absolutely read more from this author, and hope I get to read the earlier Silverpine books one day.
