A grumpy alien mountain man finds a little sunshine in this cozy, spicy, small-town, 00s, paranormal romance fast-burn novella.
Everest
I don’t believe in starmates or any of those stupid myths about love from our home planet.
At least I didn’t until I meet a woman in the bar who has me spinning on my axis from our first kiss.
Now she’s all I think about, but I’m too scared to do anything about it.
Three months later she’s knocking on my door and asking me to help her with a baby raccoon.
Suddenly, that’s not all she’s asking for, and now I want to give her everything.
But will this gorgeous Earth woman still want me when she finds out I’m an alien with a v card?
Romy
When my husband cheats on me, I decide I’m officially done with men for good.
Well, maybe not all men. Not the sexy, gruff mountain man from the bar who kissed like he would burn the whole world for me.
When I flee to the mountain to figure things out, the last thing I expect is for my grumpy mountain man neighbor to be the same guy who made me see stars that night.
Everest is grumpy and rude and wants nothing to do with me... at first. But soon I’m seeing through his grumpy exterior and believing in love again.
But will Everest be able to open up to me? Or are we both too broken to try again?
🛸 He’s inexperienced 🛸 She’s given up on love 🛸 Second chance romance 🛸 Racoon rescue 🛸 Insta-lust & Insta-love 🛸 Set in the 00s 🛸 Grumpy/sunshine 🛸 Fated Starmates 🛸 Short, sweet and spicy!
Full of early 2000s hot alien energy, The Grumpiest Mountain Man from Outer Space is a small-town, spicy, cozy, fated mates, short, steamy, fast-burn alien paranormal romance that can be read in about one hour.
Happy ever after guaranteed.
All Meteor Mountain Men books are standalones and can be read in any order.
This book honestly feels like wrapping yourself in a blanket, grabbing a warm drink, and then suddenly realizing the grumpy mountain man next door is actually an emotionally repressed alien soulmate with zero experience and absolutely no ability to handle his feelings. The Grumpiest Alien Mountain Man from Outer Space fully embraces the cozy chaos of small-town alien romance while still delivering a surprisingly emotional story underneath all the spice and humor.
Romy immediately feels easy to root for because there’s this exhaustion hanging around her after everything she’s been through. She isn’t entering the story looking for some grand romance or life-changing love story. If anything, she feels emotionally burned out and done with disappointment. I really liked that she still carries warmth and humor despite all of that though. She has this grounded sunshine energy that makes her feel incredibly easy to connect with, especially when contrasted against Everest’s complete inability to emotionally function around her.
And Everest… honestly, he’s kind of ridiculously lovable. He has all the classic grumpy recluse mountain man energy, but underneath it he’s painfully awkward, emotionally overwhelmed, and so genuinely terrified of wanting someone that it almost hurts. The fact that he’s this massive intimidating alien while also internally panicking because he kissed a woman once and immediately started spiraling emotionally? Incredible. The emotional contrast with him works so well because the story balances his rough exterior with this deeply vulnerable loneliness underneath it.
Their chemistry is immediate, but what really made the romance work for me is how soft it feels underneath the attraction. Yes, there’s insta-lust and fast-burn energy, but the emotional core of the story is really about two people who both feel broken in different ways finding unexpected comfort in each other. Romy’s warmth slowly pulling Everest out of isolation creates such a satisfying emotional progression throughout the novella.
The grumpy/sunshine dynamic is honestly adorable here too because Everest fights absolutely everything he feels while Romy keeps unintentionally dismantling every emotional wall he tries to hide behind. The tension never feels overly dramatic or exhausting. Instead, it leans into this cozy emotional push-and-pull where the romance feels comforting even while dealing with deeper insecurities and fears.
I also loved how the alien elements were woven into the story without overpowering the emotional side of the romance. The starmate concept adds this really sweet layer of inevitability and emotional intensity, especially because Everest initially wants absolutely nothing to do with the idea. Watching him slowly realize he’s emotionally doomed in the best possible way honestly adds so much charm to the story.
And the small-town mountain atmosphere? Perfect for this kind of romance. Between the cabins, the rescued raccoon, the early 2000s vibe, and the cozy isolation of the setting, the entire story feels warm and intimate in a way that works incredibly well with the softer emotional tone. Even the more emotional moments still feel comforting instead of overwhelmingly angsty.
What stood out to me most though is how much the story leans into healing without making it feel overly heavy. Both characters are carrying guilt, hurt, and emotional baggage, but the romance focuses more on acceptance than fixing each other. It’s about finding someone who sees the messy parts of you and stays anyway, whether those messy parts involve emotional trauma… or secretly being an alien.
Overall, this is such a fun read for anyone who loves grumpy/sunshine romance, cozy paranormal settings, awkward inexperienced MMCs, fated mates, small-town charm, and alien romances that balance spice with emotional softness. If you want something comforting, funny, heartfelt, and just a little bit absurd in the best way, this one is absolutely worth picking up.
As always be mindful of any trigger warnings, what I like you may not. Happy Reading! ✨📚
I went into The Grumpiest Alien Mountain Man from Outer Space expecting something fun and quirky, but I did not expect to fall this hard for a grumpy alien with a heart of gold. This story completely stole my attention from the very first page and never let go.
Everest is everything I love in a grumpy hero. He is rough around the edges, emotionally guarded, and convinced he does not believe in love, yet the second Romy walks into his life you can feel everything shifting. Watching him try to fight his feelings while clearly being gone for her was honestly so endearing. There is something so soft underneath all that grumpiness, and once it starts to come out, it is impossible not to melt.
Romy was just as easy to love. She is coming from heartbreak and trying to rebuild herself, and I really felt that vulnerability. Her connection with Everest felt instant but still meaningful, especially with the way they slowly start to open up to each other. Their chemistry is intense from the start, but there is also a sweetness to their dynamic that makes the story feel cozy and comforting.
And I have to mention the raccoon rescue because it added such a unique and adorable layer to the story. It brought them together in a way that felt natural and gave us those softer moments that balanced the spice perfectly.
The whole grumpy sunshine dynamic mixed with the fated starmates trope was done so well. It had that fast burn energy but still delivered emotional depth. I loved the early 2000s vibe too, it gave the story this nostalgic charm that made it even more fun.
This novella is short, sweet, spicy, and completely addictive. If you love protective grumpy men, second chance at love energy, and a little paranormal twist with your romance, you are going to eat this up.
I am officially obsessed with Everest and I am not even sorry about it.
I received an advance copy of this book from the author. This review reflects my honest opinion.
I think I’m about ready to upgrade myself to full-on super fan status when it comes to Stormy O’Hara’s books — this is my fourth novella by her, and honestly, I would read them all if I could.
I absolutely loved Everest. His inexperience combined with his grumpy exterior just works so well — especially when you realize that underneath it all, he has the softest heart (seriously, the baby raccoon and bar episode sealed the deal for me 🥹🔥). His guilt over the crash and everything that followed adds a deeper layer to his character, and I really liked seeing how that internal struggle shaped him.
Romy, on the other hand, is such a force to be reckoned with. She knows what she wants, and she goes after it — which was incredibly refreshing. I loved that the dynamic was flipped here, with the MMC being the more hesitant and emotionally guarded one. Seeing Everest’s softer, more vulnerable side made their connection feel even more satisfying.
As always, the story moves quickly, with instant attraction and strong chemistry driving the relationship forward. It’s fast-paced, but that’s exactly what I expect (and enjoy) from these novellas.
I wouldn’t have minded a short epilogue — especially to see just how dominant Everest can be in the bedroom — but that’s honestly a small thing and maybe that will come eventually.
And of course — I still love the early 2000s energy. It adds that nostalgic, cozy vibe that makes these stories stand out even more.
As always, this was another fun, cozy, spicy novella that felt like the perfect quick escape. Stormy O’Hara has definitely become an auto-read author for me.
I love Stormy O’Hara’s Mountain Men books! Everest is a man who looks like the gods carved him, lives like a grumpy recluse, and oh yeah, he’s not exactly from around here. He’s intense, emotionally locked down, and trying very hard not to want the heroine.
Meanwhile, Romy has been through enough to know what she wants, and what she wants is Everest.
The dynamic here is what makes the whole thing work. Everest resists and Romy pushes. He tries to shut it down, she basically goes, “That’s cute, but no.” The tension just builds and builds because neither of them is willing to fully give in … until they do. Also, him being a virgin adds a layer of vulnerability under all that grumpy, god-like energy that makes the payoff way more satisfying. I ate it up!
If you like: * grumpy, emotionally unavailable (but secretly soft) heroes * heroines who know what they want and go for it * Powerful chemistry with a push-pull dynamic * a story that sounds unhinged but somehow works …you’ll probably have an out of this world time with this book.
Oh, and I forgot to mention, you might develop a flashlight fetish.
We’re back on the mountain again, and this time we’re meeting our grumpiest alien, Everest!
Everest is just grumpy because he needs some loving, wouldn’t you also be grumpy if you were sexually frustrated? 😜 But, to be fair, Everest does have emotional baggage as well that leaves him feeling a little unworthy of love.
Then he meets Romy, and these two hit it off instantly…like, explosive. Their chemistry and connection were perfect. Romy was taking none of his grumpiness; she stood her ground and told him exactly what she wants. I loved this pairing, Everest and Romy were so damn adorable together, and I loved their little vulnerable moments.
Again, I can’t tell you how much I love this little novella series. It always makes me so happy when reading it 🥰
What to expect: 🛸 He’s inexperienced 🛸 She’s given up on love 🛸 Second chance romance 🛸 Raccoon rescue 🛸 Insta-lust & insta-love 🛸 Set in the 00s 🛸 Grumpy/sunshine 🛸 Fated starmates 🛸 Short, sweet and spicy!
Grumpy, hot alien mountain man + soon-to-be-divorced human woman = 🥵🫠🌶️
I don’t know how she does it but every book in this series feels completely unique while still tying them together. Each one delivers its own brand of spicy, swoony goodness and I eat it up every time. These vulnerable aliens who just happen to be built like literal Greek gods keep coming out the woods and straight into my obsession. 😊 🥰🙃
This story focuses on Everest who’s weighed down by guilt and is convinced he’s responsible for why they’re stuck on earth. That burden keeps him from letting himself enjoy anything in life. He’s given some clarity when one of his “brothers” helps him by putting somethings into perspective. With this new found sense of peace he goes after what he wants and that’s Romy!
Pick up this book for a fast spicy read that leaves you blushing and wanting an alien all to yourself! 🫶🏻 🛸 💚

This is another successful short, super funny, romantic and healing story how Everest and Romy get together ❤️
Everest does not believe in star mates or love. It is just a bunch of hocus pocus. His social skills are also a little questionable and made me laugh and facepalm at the same time.
Romy finds out her husband is cheating on her - her marriage is over. That same night, he meets Everest in a bar.
3 months later, they meet each other again and he is not that happy about it - initially.
Turns out, the grumpiest aliens are the ones that have been hurt the most in the past and carry the most guilt - kudos to Ash for helping Everest I hope Ash is next finding his starmate!
As for Gordon the cheater - ugggg what a clown
These series is the best, entertaining, funny, low drama and light up your day.

Stormy O’Hara does not disappoint. This novella is short, sweet, spicy with humor thrown in and a sprinkling of 90s/2000 nostalgia. Throw back always brings me back and I love it.
This novella follows another mountain man from outer space. Everest. He’s a virgin, grumpy and doesn’t believe in love. Until he meets Remy a soon to be divorced hot blonde human chick. The way she’s mentioned makes me think she could be running at the beach in baywatch. Remy hasn’t had the best luck with sexual experiences with her ex, but meeting Everest opened up all these opportunities for them to explore together.
This is full of instalove, first experiences, finding love after losing love. If you’re wanting a quick pick me up, good laugh and something nostalgic these novellas are it for you.
This alien mountain man romance has a fun and unusual setup—a grumpy, reclusive alien who crash-lands on a mountain and lives in isolation. The dynamic between him and the female main character is engaging, especially with his socially awkward and withdrawn personality. However, there is a noticeable inconsistency in his characterization. He is described as having no prior experience, yet when the relationship turns more intimate, he suddenly seems very confident and experienced. This contrast doesn’t quite match his backstory and can feel a bit jarring. Aside from that, the story itself is enjoyable, with a nice mix of grumpy charm and romance. Overall, it’s a good read, though the character inconsistency stands out.

Everest and Romy had one previous encounter before she had moved and unknowingly became his new neighbor. He was grumpy, guff and swore he didn’t believe in love. Every soft action and tender moment proved that was not the case. Romy had been hurt but she felt the connection and was undeterred by Everest’s cranky attitude. The only thing he hadn’t mentioned to Romy was he was an alien. These two are adorable together, add in one raccoon rescue and you’re hooked. This is a short, sweet and spicy book filled with spicy moments, finding love, rescuing a raccoon and of course the whole they’re star mates thing. This is an excellent read.

I got a chance to get a arc of this book from the author. i dont want to give too much out because this book is just that good . this book is my favorite book in this series. there are somethings in this book that you would have to read the other books to understand and see . this book left me with somethings I didn't see coming and some questions . :) love reading her books and cant wait to see what she has in store for her other books in the future. p.s I would recommend you start from the 1st book of this series. they are short novella and so worth the time you spend reading them all. :)
As promised this story is a super fun and quick read, insta love for sure but that’s precisely the charming of it… Sometimes you need a quick, messy and dirty read, with mostly fun spice, to take the edge off and you got it in this one!
In here we have Everest a mountain Alien whose people crash on Earth a few years ago and since then some of theme have found their fated mates in the earth… and When Everest meets Romy, the witty and gorgeous human, his body starts having some fun reactions (😏) he knows she’s the one, the problem? he’s a very grumpy Alien who’s also a Virgin!
I actually found it kind of cute how shy and freaked out he was about the whole situation haha
5 ⭐ and I’m still not over how FUN this was 😮🔥🚀🏔️
The Grumpiest Alien Mountain Man from Outer Space is chaotic, spicy, and completely addictive—and I was hooked from the first page 👀
A grumpy, possessive alien + rugged mountain man vibes?? Yeah… this book knew exactly what it was doing. The chemistry is instant, the tension is high, and it leans all the way into the over-the-top energy in the BEST way 🔥
It’s fast-paced, a little unhinged, and impossible to put down—the kind of read you fly through and immediately want more of.

One of my favorite tropes is pairing someone who doesn’t believe in love with someone who has completely given up on it. Together, they’re explosive. This story delivered exactly that. It was funny, emotional (no wonder Everest was so grumpy), and deliciously spicy. Loved bossy Romy. I’m really hoping we get to see Romy win her lawsuit against her awful ex-husband. I need that satisfaction! Ash and Pippa next...Just saying. And hopefully, we’ll get a female alien x male human pairing too.
I know it's instalove and a short story and that's half the fun, but I also want more! And the good news is - I can read more on Kindle Unlimited, because I missed the first few books in the series!
That said though, I hope there will eventually be more more books in this series, maybe some of the female Virrindarians with human mountain men (I can't be the only one who wants to know what part of the gals glows, right?).

A fun short grumpy alien romance. The stories about these alien mountain men are great reads. This book is about Everest and Romy. Romy owns the supermarket in town, she is going through a divorce. Everest is grumpy and very rarely leaves the mountain. He blames himself for them being on Earth. They had a quick run in in a bar months ago, now they're stuck living next door to each other. They both are attracted to each other but Everest keeps pushing her away. What will it take for him to finally trust her and admit his feelings?
Everest is the grumpiest resident of Meteor Mountain
His neighbours let Romy from the market stay in their cabin while their are travelling. Everest doesn't get th name of the woman he jumped in the local bar but it turns out she's right next door! Romy is angry that Everest ghosted her but he was embarrassed when she angrily confronted him. Once he confirmed that Romy was his stalemate things started out better. Then her ex showed up and the two are at odds again till Romy confronted Everest. Thankfully they kiss and make up and seal the deal!
Stormy O'Hara The Grumpiest Mt Man from Outer Space is a short and spicy novella guaranteed to please. Romy meets Everest one night at a bar after she discovers her husband has been cheating. Everest makes her world explode and then disappears until she shows up to cabin sit for a friendcand winds up next door to Everest. There's an incident with a baby raccoon and another where she winds up naked on a stump!
The Grumpiest Mountain Man from Outer Space by Stormy O’Hara. I never get tired of a good novella. This series follows aliens who crash land on earth and are slowly find their star mates (soul mates) these are quick, fall in love fast and steamy/spicy as hell. I absolutely love everything Stormy writes and if you are looking for a good fun spicy quick read I definitely recommend all her Novellas.
Romy was drowning her sorrows after learning about her cheating husband. Getting a life changing experience with Everest was not on her bingo card. Him running from her reaffirms her lack of faith in men. Everest is a complicated man with guilt over his failings and deep seeded fears that he channels into being a grump. Once they break down each other’s walls in spicy and sweet ways we get a beautiful HEA.

This was another quick, fun, and spicy read from an author I’ve grown to love. Everest brings all the grumpy energy, but somehow makes it completely irresistible. Romy is his perfect sunshine counterpart, and together they balance each other so effortlessly. It’s impossible not to root for them as star-crossed mates.
Everest is a grumpy alien with a pure heart and sensitive soul. Romy is a strong FMC who started out with finding out her husband is an insensitive jerk and then she encounters Everest. A virgin alien, who is hot and of course there is that special flashlight in his pocket. ❤️
I received a copy from the author and this is my honest review.
This little novela is a fast paced smutty good time. The alien aspect of it makes it feel campy and silly but I love that it's also very real and the characters have depth. The virgin MMC with his glowing dick and our beautiful FMC in the middle of a nasty divorce are perfect for each other. Perfect one sitting read for when you just want spice and a happy ending
Now that was super fast paced and ohh soo very hot and sooo good. I loved the book and cant wait to read the rest of the series it's was just too yummy and I look forward to the next one. They had major miscommunication but they talked about it so dang quick and didn't just ignore it.

The Grumpiest Mountain Man From Outer Space is a quick, spicy novella that Stormy knocks out of the park. Everest completely won me over with that grumpy‑softheart mix, and watching Romy match him with her strength made their connection so satisfying. The chemistry hits fast, the pacing keeps you locked in, and the early‑2000s vibe gives the whole novella this cozy, nostalgic feel.
