can Emma and Natalie find happiness..

Natalie has arranged her movie schedule so she can visit her grandmother for two months every summer. Easy when she was starting out now it more complicated since she’s become semi famous her words.

Her grandmother is in her mid/late eighties and Emma the next door neighbor and nurse checks on her daily. Since Natalie can remember Emma has looked in on her grandmother. Five years ago Emma and Natalie had a moment a kiss in the rain and Emma said how she’s felt for ages. Natalie felt the same but fear, being 15 years older, her life which she wasn’t willing to give up walked away.

When she returned thinking she and Emma could discuss the kiss she found Emma had moved to Australia. So will these two get their HEA?

I liked this novel, though it isn’t a favorite. This author seems to be fairly consistent; the beginning of the story is a little slow, and the second half goes far too fast. The ending is lackluster and didn’t leave me satisfied. Yet, when it hits its mark the story is excellent and there are a few golden chapters nestled within the rest of the narrative. This was a quick and easy read, thanks to the short length, so I would recommend it despite its flaws.

Natalie returns to her grandmother in the west of Ireland every summer for two months. This is something she has done for years. She was born and raised in Los Angeles, but her late mother was from Ireland, and Natalie feels a deep sense of homecoming every year. In LA she is a well known movie star, whereas in the small town in Ireland everyone just knows her as Bridget’s granddaughter.
Emma has lived next to Bridget for all her life. Since her parents died, Bridget has become her surrogate grandmother; when Emma has finished her shift working hard as a nurse, she spends a lot of her time at Bridget’s house, where the two women help one another. Emma helps increasingly frail Bridget around the house, Bridget gives Emma a much needed family.
Every year when Natalie returns, She and Emma fall into a yearly friendship, which both women secretly wish could be more.
This story ends with a promise, not a HEA. I do like stories where the ending is finalised, where all the loose ends are tied up together in a pretty pink bow… but this is a second best ending, where there is the promise of more, where everything is positive after many years of uncertainty.

Do they get their HEA?

Natalie is an award winning American actress who visits her grandmother in western Ireland every July and August. Emma, the younger next door neighbor and nurse, is an "adopted granddaughter" who checks on her daily throughout the year. Both of these women skirt around the issue of their feelings for one another for many long years. This reader enjoyed the writing, the characters and the feeling of longing. However, I'm sorry to say I was a little disappointed in the ending. What happens after Christmas?

I want to give this 5 stars, but I settled on 4 because I almost quit reading. The first third moves pretty slowly-and even though the writing is lyrical and beautifully written, I wanted the story to move faster. When it finally moved in a direction I'd hoped it would, it held my attention and my heart-and I never wanted it to stop. But I found the conclusion very satisfying. In the end, a great read.

A good short story but my alternate ending would be ( because you can write anything you like, why write something that is too much like real life?) Grandma Bridget leaves Emma a couple of million dollars which makes Emma delay starting a job so she can go to L.A. and be with Natalie while her house is still being rented out as a vacation home. There we go, a happy ending for all.

Finally, a book by Ms. Wyatt that isn't filled out by sex scenes just to pad out the pages.
The only other book like this (with moderate sex content) is: Manhattan Money

This story was a page turner from the very beginning,read it in one day because it was so absorbing.
Back and forth the story went wondering will they wont they work out and get together.
Being set in Ireland was a bonus as usually these stories are set in America.
Beautiful age gap romance,cannot wait for book 2.
