Maggie Moore has embarked on a journey of reinventing herself after leaving her job and her husband behind. She empties out their joint bank account, purchases an entirely new bold and colorful wardrobe and a bright red Ferrari. Driving from her home in Sidney Australia, without any destination in mind stops at a small inn to spend the night. There she becomes involved in not only a murder but ends being the prime suspect.
This is a new author for me and found the book enjoyable and entertaining. As Maggie now embraces her new found confidence and calls her new version Maggie 2.0, she works to clear her name while dealing with a surly police detective and navigating her way around while wearing stiletto pumps. In places funny and yet poignant as she deals with ending her 24 year marriage and a cheating spouse. I am definitely going to look for more books by this author.
The witty banter and lovely storytelling prose in this high quality cozy mystery caught my eye right away. The vibe is almost Agatha Raisin...ish but new and refreshing. I'd definitely read more books from this author.
