Marin Sutton has spent years building a life she can leave behind.
As a travel nurse, she moves from place to place, never staying long enough to belong anywhere. When an assignment brings her to a quiet Louisiana town, one impulsive decision changes everything.
She buys a furnished house left behind after a tragic accident no one can explain.
At first, it is only a place to land.
Until she begins to notice what was left behind.
A piece of blue fabric stitched with white embroidery. A notebook written in unfamiliar French. A life that feels unfinished.
As Marin pieces together the story of the couple who once lived there, the questions begin to feel personal. The deeper she looks, the harder it becomes to ignore what she has spent years avoiding.
With Louisiana State Trooper Grant Landry drawn quietly into the search, what begins as curiosity becomes something more.
Not just a mystery to uncover. But a thread that leads her toward something she never expected to find.
Because some things are not lost. They are waiting.
Love the writing style, really touched me, spoke to me in so many ways. Was so well done. Simple. Intentional. Specific. Ok repetitive at times, but thoughtful..the mystery- waiting to be noticed, investigated, seen and purposely pursued! Cannot recommend it highly enough. It really spoke to me. Left me feeling awestruck and satisfied at the end.
