How to Make Better Coffee Every Day: A Practical Guide to Brewing Great Coffee at Home was an excellent guide for producing a great, enjoyable cup of coffee in your own home! Felipe Aubreu is extremely knowledgeable about coffee beans, processing, and roasting. He is able to pass that knowledge on in a way that is not reminiscent of a school book, or boring lecture, but more like a friend giving you insider information.

Add to this broad knowledge sharing of the detailed skills, and techniques needed to make a quality pour-over, French Press, or espresso for yourself and this book easily earns a place in your library.

But you will want to keep it near wherever you are making your coffee, because it has walkthroughs for each method, suggestions, and trouble shooting. What a great resource.

I give this book five stars because, as an experienced barista and coffee aficionado, I learned from Abreu. If you want a great cup of coffee every time you brew at home, get this book.

So much to learn about coffee

I never knew there were so many factors about what makes a good cup of coffee- the type of beans, where they are grown, the amount of caffeine, the way they are roasted, the extractions process, and the methods used to make good coffee. This book has it all - from ratio of coffee to water, to grind size, to amount and temp of water, to brew time. It is all explained clearly, with photos, too. The process of roasting is explained, and how long coffee is good after roasting. Whether you prefer French press, pour-over, or espresso, this book has it all. The last chapter is a troubleshooting guide. Simply perfect.
