This was such a meaningful book, reminiscent of "The Kite Runner", a story about a family who struggles immensely with poverty and their young son who tries everything to move them out of their indentured servitude. Everyone in the family, with the exception of the mother, makes bricks out of clay mud, having to produce at least 1,500 bricks a day in the heat, cold, or rain. If they don't, they pay a heavy price.
This is a story about family, close friendships, and the culture of poverty stricken Pakistan.
