Envy is a silent, cold-blooded killer, extinguishing a little more life from me every day.
Hitting sharp, fast, and seemingly out of nowhere; struck by lightning without a storm cloud in sight...in she rolls. Reece Kelly, a force to be reckoned with, head of the class-- which means one thing-- she's out of mine.
"You're wasting your time, Rhett Foster. Locks have keys and walls can be climbed. I'm not buying your broody, skeptical act for one minute."
And then there's that...
As much as she compels me to open up, to show her what no one else gets to see...there are guilty shadows lurking in the depths of her eyes that she cannot hide from me.

I don't know about you all but I feel like I have SO many book boyfriends that I have loved for so long- it's hard to squeeze in new ones that really "stick" with you. I feel bad for authors because it's really hard to write a truly memorable leading male character.
For SE Hall, this never seems to be a problem. This author makes me love every boy she writes. Very few authors can pull that off in my opinion.
Reece Kelly is fresh out of a break up and what better to "live it up" than to head to Vegas with her BFF. With her sights set on loosing up and watching her best friend get married- meeting a guy isn't even on her radar. Rhett Foster is a broody, moody, a-hole who only sees women as one thing- A good time. After losing what he thought was the love of his life to another man- he has sworn off relationships. One night is all women get with him and he has no intentions of ever changing that. Until he meets Reece. She is unlike any girl he's ever met. She's a tiny little firecracker who would never take what he has to offer. Finally a woman who can dish out what he needs so he of course is drawn to her.
Rhett is the last thing Reece needs in her life. A womanizing man who looks like that and acts like him- is NOT the kind of guy you fall for. But the funny thing about falling is, you don't always feel it happening until you've already fell.
Reece changes Rhett's view on everything. Everything he said he never wanted- he does.. with her. Everything he's thought was ridiculous - now makes sense.. because of her. But as good as she is for him- he knows he is nothing but bad for her. Having to give her up will be the hardest thing he's ever done - but sometimes that's what you do for people you love. You let them go. The thing he doesn't consider is- she's a fighter.
Before you jump in this book and think- "oh another rocker book"- you need to listen. This is NOT that. Yes, he's in a band. BUT Rhett Foster is SO much more than that. He's the kind of guy ALL girls want. The kind you think you can change (but never can.) The kind that even when he's being rude- you love him for it. He's so.... REAL. We all "know" this guy. We've all met him. We've all drooled over him... We've all watched him fall for the girl who changed his game. Trust me, you don't want to miss meeting Rhett. He's a seriously HOT book boyfriend.
Before I go, I need to add- this book isn't going to make you cry your face off.. It won't turn your guts inside out from the severe ulcers you develop while reading. It won't make you throw your reader and want to throat punch anyone who gets in your way. This book feels good. The writing and characters are so relatable. You will laugh your butt off. (SE Hall is the QUEEN of one liners.) You will remember why you ever loved to read. And you will fall in LOVE with Reece and Rhett. Yes, I loved her as much as him. She's is one of the best heroin I've ever read. And to top it off- Rhett's such a dirty talker- he will swoon your panties clean off.
^^And then there's that ;)
FIVE HUGE SHINING STARS - SE HALL, ONCE AGAIN HIT IT OUT OF THE PARK..
I'd hate to say this but I did not like Rhett but I loved Reese. I nearly added this to my DNF pile I guess I needed to know what was wrong with Rhett although I did not like his character needing sex to effing take away his problems but I found in the end that Reese if I could high 5 her made this story bearable for me and I know my rating is 3 stars its how I felt when I started to end. It's an okay read but I laughed and cringed and I swooned.
Love me some R&R !! I swear if I thought I had forgotten anything about Pretty Instincts it didn't take long for me to recall all things Rhett !! Ok his brother too but ya mostly Rhett !! As we have it now the band had broken up and gone their own ways. Liz and Cannon are married and raising a family , Rhett and Jarrett are living it up in sin city. Rhett unhappily screwing his way through themed hotel rooms and Jarrett spying on his now cheating girl Vanessa. Reece has come to the rescue of her bastie Landry , what are we rescuing her from , her cheating fiance , who is he cheating with , well of course Vanessa !! Rhett is already taken by the beauty at the club but now they are thrown together to deal with the trouble in paradise. This sends them on a whirlwind of a weekend and some pretty serious assumptions and funny one liners !! Rhett and Reece are the classic struggle that all good books come from. The attraction is there and strong but yet Reece tries to stay away claiming friendship. Rhett takes what he can and come to find out they have way more in common than we thought. Reece holds back a little tidbit of info that once she confesses changes the whole show. Now with something to work toward together will Rhett and Reece take things beyond friendship ?? I mean we know they heat it up just from a kiss , wait until , ya just wait !!
Love all the funnies and one liners , gives this book a feel of being real , simple easy and just fun. A fleaver , really , OMG I snorted when I read that !! A breathe of fresh air. I mean yes I was not pleased when it started that we missed out on catching the cheaters , I was also not happy with the Hawaiian room events BUT the way the story flowed and the genuine feelings shared were real. I loved Reece , her father was complicated , his desires for her were unfortunate but yet she was so full of love and life that all it took was one hot dirty talking guy to get her out of her shell and doing what she dreamed of finally. Rhett has always been the broody moody guy screwing anyone to fulfill his emptiness but yet the right woman comes along all feisty and hot and he strives for bigger and better realizing what real happiness is. Not to say there isn't bumps along the way but I enjoyed how it all came together !! Oh and Ozzie , I love Ozzie !! He is great and I was so glad Reece had him on her side. I loved the tease of what's to come , the other characters that may be dying to share their stories and of course I already knew DRUMMERS DO IT BETTER BUT Rhett and drums and ya just read it for yourself and enjoy !! Rhett can melt my panties anyday !!
S.E. Hall has done it again! Pretty Remedy is a beautiful masterpiece that had me hooked from beginning to end.
I fell in love with Rhett’s character when we met him in Pretty Instinct and was thrilled to find out we were getting his story next. Rhett is now living in Las Vegas, and living the life. He still plays his music (by himself), and is picking up women left and right. He never stays with one for longer than one time. When he meets a loud mouthed girl and her friend one night at On Tap he’s intrigued with Reece (aka Teacup) and is thinking he found his next conquest.
Reece is a tiny little thing out to celebrate her best friend’s upcoming nuptials, and gets drug to On Tap to help Landry prove her feelings are right and her fiance is cheating on her. Reece never expected to meet Rhett and she definitely does not put up with any of his crap.
I loved Reece and Rhett’s banter back and forth, and all of the chemistry that existed between the two of them. There is definitely something different about Reece, and Rhett doesn’t know what to do about it. When Reece turns the tables on Rhett and leaves without saying goodbye, I wasn’t sure if I wanted to feel sorry for Rhett, or be like “YOU GO GIRL” to Reece!
Rhett and Reece’s story is beautifully written and you can’t help but fall in love with these two characters. I loved getting to see a little bit more of Cannon and Liz, as well as still seeing more of Jarret, the new characters introduced in this book were awesome as well. I think I love Landry, even if she is flaky as all get out, but there’s just something about her that makes me like her.
Even though Pretty Remedy is book 2 in the Finally Found series, it can definitely be read as a stand alone. I picked up this book and was unable to put it down until I read the very last sentence. This book had a way of pulling me into the story and I felt as if I was right there living it with the characters. The characters are written beautifully, and the story just flows off the pages. Five plus stars to Pretty Remedy! This is a book that should not be overlooked!
Holy wow! Pretty Remedy has to be one of my all time favorite books. I was hooked from the very first page and falling for Rhett by the second. This is my first book by S.E Hall and I hate that I've waited so long to read her work. I now wish that I had the time to go and read them all! If her other men are anything like Rhett Foster then I have no doubt that I'll be hooked. The interaction between Rhett and Reece was just PERFECT. They had me laughing and swooning. I could definitely feel their pull and see why they were both falling for each other. I also really love how Reece gave Rhett a challenge and really pushed him to open up to her. I couldn't wait to hear his answers to her questions and learn more about this sexy, mysterious rock star! I absolutely loved every character in Pretty Remedy and I want more of them. Give me more!! Everyone needs to read this book now and meet Rhett Foster. He's now somewhere at the top of my BBF list! S.E Hall knows how to write the perfect story to satisfy every last craving. You rock!!
Why the low rating? I could absolutely NOT get passed Rhett and how he slept with ANYTHING that walked, had a hole, was passing him by. Seriously, I love a "bad boy", but Rhett took it to another level. Manwhore would be mild, I think he was a sex addict. It did not get better, and I just did not like him at all. Amazed that this author would write him like this. Seriously, anything that walked by. And his ego was a turnoff. I know I am in a huge minority with my opinion, but I just don't see how this can have such high ratings. Maybe this is just me....decide for yourself....you have been warned.
Rhett was Liz's best friend from the book Pretty Instinct, and this is his story.
Rhett and Liz shared a bond that couldn't be broken by anything, he was someone who would do anything for her and her brother. They shared a history, practically grew up together and had seen each other through every heartaches and challenges that came their way. The small family they created with their brothers and her uncle was all he ever had.
What do you do when everything that was familiar suddenly shifted and changed course? When the people you protected and loved decided to take a different path than what you've always done? When the only person who could clear out the dark clouds in your mind wasn't a a part of your daily life anymore? When the best friend who knew you inside out and shared a deep bond with found her "the one" leaving you with no one?
He lost the little family they created when Liz left the band. He missed being a part of something that mattered and he felt lost. Sleeping with random hook ups and being unavailable emotionally was his coping mechanism. Feelings, both good and bad, was something he was used to sharing with Liz, no one else.
Then Reece came along. She was kind, loyal, and brassy. She wasn't oblivious to Rhett's attractive physical appearance, but she didn't melt into a puddle in front of him either. She called him out on his attitude and made him laugh with her clever and sarcastic wit.
Rhett was introspective, cocky, and he had perfected his grumpy and callous routine, and apart from Liz, Reece was the only one to see through the facade. She challenged him to rise above his tortured soul persona which he wore like a second skin and allow happiness in his life. He was surprisingly candid and honest with her almost from the time they met.
I loved the banter between Rhett and Reece. Whether he was being cocky, flirty or grumpy, he was always sexy and adorable. And it didn't matter if Reece was cursing him in her mind or having dirty thoughts about him, she was funny and easy to like.
There was more to Reece's life than what she let on that added spice to the story, and Rhett wasn't just a manwhore trying to drown out his unhappiness. The unconditional love he had for Liz was admirable, even if he was emotionally dependent on her. He genuinely achieve happiness for himself by seeing her happy. Reece knew that to be at the receiving end of that kind of devotion was worth all the sacrifices.
If you think this review gave you what you needed to know the story, you would be wrong. This was just their background, because there was so much more to their story, a lot of revelations about their lives and definitely more intriguing twists to uncover.
This was a beautiful story of what one was willing to sacrifice in search of "what if?"
Rhett Foster...this man....just DANG!! I don't even know what else to say.
Just a quick FYI to start...Pretty Remedy is the follow up to Pretty Instinct but can also be read as a stand alone (although, I don't know why you would want to do yourself the disservice of NOT reading PI...it, too, is incredible) I STRONGLY recommend reading them both!
Ok, back to Rhett. I first met Rhett in Pretty Instinct and I'm gonna be totally honest and say that I really didn't care for him...at all. I kind of got a bad, emo, moody vibe from him. However, I would never not read a SE Hall book so I HAD to check out PR and see what this Rhett guy was all about and you know what?? Guess who is now my 2nd favorite SE Hall book boyfriend of all time?? That's right...it's Rhett! He would be #1 but I'm sorry, NO one will ever take the place of my Sawyer Landon Beckett (Evolve series...check him out! You can thank me later ;) Anyhow, back to Rhett.
This man will melt your panties and steal your heart faster than you can blink. No lie. And don't even get me started on Reece "Teaspoon" Kelly. I "may" have been even more in love with her than I was with Rhett...almost. This girl is a whole lot of spunk, sass, sexy, and hysterical all wrapped up in a tiny little package. The two of them together had some of the best chemistry I have ever had the pleasure of reading. And the steam...or dear sweet baby Jesus...the steam!!
I cannot say enough good things about this book. It has it all and I guarantee you will pee your pants laughing...several times!! The one liners will seriously make you snort water out your nose so be careful when reading...you've been warned! Ok, stop reading this review, one click and get to reading...Rhett is waiting!
No sliding backwards in this second installment. It's outrageously good from start to finish. S.E. Hall writes a fantastic story for Reece and Rhett. As they say, "dynamite comes in small packages" and that's exactly what "Teacup" is for bad boy Rhett. She brings a big explosion into his life and changes his way of living. It's a pleasure to watch as the little pitbull snaps and snipes at his heels until he's a goner.
Loved the dialogue filled with sizzle, wit and sass. The secondary characters are once again in line for support. Still having a bit of problem with Landry, Reece's best friend. She's a bit overdone for me in the whining, sniveling sort of way.
A full package of fun-to-read hours. Looking forward to installment number three!
I love all of SE Hall's books but Pretty Remedy is my new favorite If you read and liked/loved Pretty Instincts than you will absolutely fall in love with this one
This is the story of Rhett and Reece. Rhett is your typical manwhore that has rules. First rule is “Rule #1 written in blood and stone: never, ever double dip.” They meet because Reece is in Las Vegas for her friend’s bachelorette party and they go to a bar to see if Reece’s friend’s fiancé is cheating. Loved Reece! She is a tiny little thing but what a firecracker. As Rhett put it “Reece is white-flame fucking hot in the most fascinatingly fun-sized kind of way.”
At about 25% in I can feel the chemistry and connection that Rhett and Reece had. They really got each other and the banter between them was funny and at times off the charts HOT.
“Okay for me to head inside now, or you need me to knock out a couple pirouettes, maybe come a little closer so you can get a better look? He teases when he catches me …..surveying.”
I love when an author takes time for the relationship to grow and that was what happened in this book. The sexual tension had me at the edge of my seat waiting for this to get steamy.
Rhett was moody and hide behind his manwhore persona. He was afraid to open up but Reece got inside and tore down those walls he built up around his heart. A few times I wanted to smack him upside the head for the things he did but overall I really liked him.
The secondary characters were great. Ozzie had to be my favorite. He was Reece’s driver and confidant. Unlike her father Ozzie was very protective of Reece and thought of her as his own daughter. He had his eye on Rhett and I loved some of the things he said to him.
"Fine Job, Jarrett and Rhett, congratulations. You’ve earned another day of me letting you live.”
“Ozzie called, made me promise to tell you he said he loves you and good luck. Oh, and for me to break a leg, preferably both of them.”
The story flowed beautifully and had me hooked from the first page. I love a story told first person and in more than one POV. This one was told in Reece and Rhett’s. Nothing me enjoyable than being able to know what both the main characters are feeling. I am looking forward to the next book because I have a feeling Thatcher’s story is going to be fantastic!!!
So time to 'fess, I'm just over 5'10" - I get the icks whenever the heroine is really tiny and the hero is tall enough I could wear 3" heels and still be shorter...I think child immediately...sorry...mainly because my 11yo daughter is 5.5". No offense. We can't hide from our triggers.
Now I'm sure I'll be labeled a heightist (real word - and no I'm not one :). I'm sorry...#giantproblems.
Then there's the fact the h is tiny and blonde #lostlovedoppleganger #creepy #myprecious
Then after dumping the h because she won't put out, he walks away grabs a random OW and leaves...then the h hears them fucking in the next room #winner #freestd #manhobag #betteroffmasturbating
Then he opens his mouth and spews some shit about the h being jealous and her listening to them fuck. #yourdickisnotsolidchocolate
Then he tells us he could have kept his dick in his pants and helped out the h when he realized she wouldn't put out but he'd been wanting to fuck the OW supermodel (did I mention that tidbit?) for a few weeks... #wtf #irredeemable
Damn. Hashtags are fun.
Now, here is generally where I'd DNF, but I like this author and until the h turns doormat I'll try to push through.
After h asks why he's taking off his shirt to move her friend when he wouldn't do it for the supermodel he banged the night before...
“No chance of something impersonal being made personal here. If I could figure out how to fuck ‘em through my pants, I’d leave them on too. Women tend to get all sappy, asking questions that are none of their fucking business and conjuring up deeper meanings. A lot like you’re doing now, actually.”
Then after some talk about what a man-ho he is, he asks her out to hear his band and she blushes and says yes.
And then I was out....
BB you're reading this shit on your own.
So I lied and read a wee bit more. The h doesn't fuck him, again, then she bolts w/o saying anything to him and he's fucking another OW less than 12 hrs later.
Then we discover that the h's home/romantic life is so horrible that even the man-ho H is looking good. Nuh-uh, you don't get to manipulate me into rooting for a #loser for my h just because he's the lesser of two evils.
And now it's earned a 2 star rating, because I just can't give S.E. Hall a 1 star.
And. Then. There's. That. Rhett Foster, sexy drummer, player extraordinaire, on the outside. Heart of gold, and mushy on the inside. What's not to love? Nothing! That's what! Rhett's hiding his heart. He's afraid to love and he misses being on the road playing the drums and being part of a band. He's in Vegas, bouncing at a club and meets Reece. She's tiny, gorgeous and he quickly wants her. He realizes he can't just have one time with her, he actually likes talking to her. She's effing hilarious, real and seems to know him. He's scared but comforted by it. Their banter is awesome! They have amazing chemistry, and the foreplay was off the charts! SE Hall knows how to write hot, sexy men and sassy, smart leading ladies. She writes humor, sexiness, heat and innuendo like no other. She's one of my go to authors, I just click. Period. We've been waiting a long time for Rhett's story and it was worth the wait. Getting to see Cannon and Liz again was a bonus! I can't wait for more!
My back hits a wall. Under any other circumstance, this would be when I'd kick and scream…something. But, I instantly, instinctively, recognize this wall. The signature scent and baritone chuckle that snared my senses at the door greet me again now.
"I recognized your smell when you walked up behind me. Yes, I scented you like a pervy headcase."
"I don't care if you've slept with him." Reece shrugs. "I just met him. So less snarky and more my drinky would be great."
"Seriously, Rhett. English isn't my second language. It's my only language. So I'm having trouble following all your African tongue-clicking. And warning, if interpretive dance comes next, save it. I don't understand that either."
"You are the exception, the prettiest damn remedy in the whole world, and the most astonishing person I have ever fallen into."
"Rhett is a moody, broody, fresh and fruity man with all his own uniqueness…"
Dnf at 27% Couldn't get into the book. Found the lingo used hard to follow, had me re reading paragraphs over again and after awhile I've given up.
"so I'm interested in why you're interested in tracking jarretts hand, or I'm more than a little puzzled as to who the fucks hand your actually tracking. Feel me?"
Nope! What hand.... I don't get the hand reference and many many more
OMG I was so excited to hear that Rhett Foster was getting his own book.
I loved him in Pretty Instinct and basically loved that whole book but to find out he was coming to my kindle just made me giddy happy.
Rhett though is a bit of a moody guy, he loves the ladies and makes no promises to women that he will change, he loves his music, his writing but his mood swings would make me even think I was watching a tennis match. Rhett is also extremely loyal, loving, friendly and very very protective over the people whom he call family and who her cherishes.
Rhett however, did not count on meeting someone as sassy as Reece Kelly. I fell in love with her smart mouth and sassy ways and how she just answered Rhett back. Reece is downright hysterical at times with what comes out of her mouth.
Reece is a tiny girl at just 5ft but she has the whole package, she is amazingly clever, but also very self-conscious of what others think, mainly her father, and she strives for approval, again mainly from her father. Reece is also amazingly loyal and loves her friend Landry like a sister and would do anything for her, which is why you can tell just by reading this book; Reece is the kind of friend everyone would want. I loved how not only did we have Rhett but we also met up with Jarrett, Rhett’s younger brother whom is adorable. Woman don’t stand a chance with Rhett and Jarrett around, these boys are just made for women LOL.
Rhett and Reece meet up due to Reece’s friend Landry, the way they meet is interesting and you have to read the book to find out. If I put it in here, then that would spoil it for you all. They are instantly attracted to each other, but they live in two different states. Rhett at first cannot put his finger on it but there is just something about Reece that draw’s him and makes him feel he can trust her, share with her and be around her not like he has with any other woman. He feels that she truly understands him which has not happened since Liz.
I loved how SE Hall gave these two the chemistry and it was so hot it was scorching, but she also made them friends first. They had this mutual connection that they could build on first. I loved how past conversations from Rhett’s grandfather came into the book, giving him guidance and steering him in the right direction.
“Two things, boy, that’ll tell ya all you need to know. First one is, make sure your door is locked when you get her settled in the car. If she reaches over and unlocks it for you on her own, she cares- thoughtful and giving by nature. That’s the girl you hold hands with, work for that first kiss, then keep working until she thinks you’re worthy of her forever. And when you finally convince her, use every damn day to make sure she never changes her mind”
Rhett and Reece both have hang ups, secrets, and insecurities, how they get past them and deal with them is just amazing to read and is written so well you can tell how determined they are and how much they mean to each other. I loved how yes they had these issues to deal with but they knew together they could deal with them and learn to trust and love each other.
What captured me the most of this book was that yes, you can read it as a standalone but I loved how SE Hall had all the other’s from Pretty Instinct make appearances throughout this book, to me it made it even more special than I imagined it would be.
This is an amazing story, of amazing people who deal with day to day insecurities, hang ups, issues that someone will be able to relate to.
Rhett Foster, moody manwhore might have just met his match in a pint-sized package. Reece Kelly might be small, but she is feisty and sarcastic, even if a bit out of her comfort zone. While they deal with some craziness surrounding his brother ,Jarrett, and her friend, they keep coming in contact with each other and banging heads. Rhett has made no secret that he's just like to bang her, but she is not about to be one of is easy one-night stands.
He is intrigued by her and she can see there is more to him that he likes to show people. She makes him remember what it is like to be around a woman with sass and brains, and not just take her to bed once. She is enjoying breaking free of the constraints she usually lives within and he brings out a playful and more confident version of herself.
"Really, you're wasting your time with all this 'tortured soul' nonsense. Locks have keys and walls can be climbed. I'm not buying your whole grumpy, callous routine for one minute."
They have chemistry, but their connection is not built around it. I loved that they bonded over other things and not just sex. They were two people who needed someone to believe in them and needed to be accepted for who they were. They challenged each other and pushed each other's boundaries. He was not used to being intrigued enough by a woman to care what they thought until she butted into his world and began tearing down his walls. She gave him reason to stop trying to numb himself, but to actually live life and enjoy it.
"If you quit sleeping with just anyone, you'll get better at deciphering the exceptional from the exceptions."
"You are the exception, the prettiest damn remedy in the whole world, and the most astonishing person I have ever fallen into."
But she has some secrets and hidden agendas that she is keeping to herself. And they could have a big impact on their future. Can these two find a lasting connection and trust or will they end up ruining not only a chance at love, but also a chance at a better future?
This can be read as a stand alone, but I loved being back with the dynamics between Rhett, Jarrett, Liz, and Cannon (Pretty Instinct). Even though their lives have changed, they have such a strong bond. They taunt, tease, fight, support, and protect. I also loved the banter between Rhett and Reece. It was flirty and hot, but also with humor and a deeper emotional component. In Pretty Instinct we had the loveable, sweet Conner to steal his scenes, in this one I have to say Reece's protector Ozzie had me smiling and even fist pumping at times.
S.E. Hall has a way of creating these groups of characters that are easy to love despite their faults and makes you become invested in them. This installment was sweet, humorous, intriguing, and engaging. It was told in both Reece and Rhett's points of view. I did not think it was as angsty or as emotionally dark as the first one, but I was interested just as much and I enjoyed the more light-hearted feel. It did also have some fun twists and I liked how the plot had several story lines and locations going simultaneously. I am looking forward to more with the other characters: Jarrett, Jovie, Thatcher, Sommerlyn, Landry and JT are all interesting and seem to have more stories to tell.
I was gifted a copy in exchange for an honest review.
With just enough humor to be entertaining without taking away from the emotion of the story, Pretty Remedy was a great escape.
I loved Reece. She knew who she was and who she wanted to be, even if she was having trouble finding the confidence and direction to get herself there. Though she was shy, she recognized the heat between herself and Rhett. She also knew jumping into bed with a stranger, no matter how sizzling the chemistry, wasn’t who she was regardless of his interest or her ease around him.
Rhett was a bit of a mess. One night stands were his norm. He didn’t even bother to remember names, let alone go back for repeats, and relationship status didn’t deter him. Though he is happy for Liz and Cannon, not playing music full time has left him aimless and a bit lost. Random sex is his way of coping with the adrift feelings he isn’t dealing with.
When drama between her best friend and his brother brings them together several times over the course of a weekend, he expresses an interest in taking her to bed. But she’s not one for casual sex and turns him down. Often.
Reece may put the brakes on a physical relationship when they first meet, but over the course of a single weekend, Rhett finds himself opening up to her in ways he normally avoids. She calls him on his games, and makes him face what’s going on in his head in a way no one else in his life ever has. I loved watching their early interactions, especially Rhett’s reactions to letting her see inside his head so quickly.
Music definitely has a huge part of this story, though it was hard to remember that Rhett was part of See You Next Tuesday because he wasn’t performing or in a band initially. But as the story progresses, I love how music comes back into focus for him and the way music connects Reece and himself.
I loved that the dynamic between Liz, Cannon, Rhett, and Jarrett is maintained and continues through this storyline. This was a smooth read. I wasn’t pulled into the story as quickly or deeply as I was Liz and Cannon’s story, but it was completely entertaining and well developed. There were several secrets being held in the beginning and I loved watching them come to light and work their way into the story.
I am looking forward to Thatcher’s story next. With the teaser scene at the end, I can’t wait to see more from the hotel owner Rhett always spoke so highly of. Though he mostly existed in the background of Pretty Remedy, there was enough to be intriguing.
I was gifted a copy in exchange for an honest review.
My very first novel that I read by S.E Hall was Pretty Instinct and since then I have been hooked. So, when I found out Rhett was getting his own book I was over the moon excited!
Reece is in Las Vegas to visit her best friend Landry and just like her best friend the weekend is very unpredictable! She doesn't do unpredictable but when that is the hand that dealt, she has to deal with it and she does one hell of a job...
Rhett is helping a friend out and covering the door at his club and when a wild one goes off on him, he is shocked to see who is behind her. A little petite thing named Reece has him intrigued. He soon finds out that she is not like all the other women he goes for, she is a little spitfire that sees right through him and that makes him want her even more. But, she has other plans and it kills him...Mostly when he doesn't know if he will ever see her again.
Well...after one unpredictable weekend, why not follow-up with a very unplanned visit back to sin city. She doesn't know why she's back but when her best friend needs her, she is there. This time around she wants to get what is under Rhett's shirt and I am not talking his abs...she wants to let him know there is a better remedy for his issues then just sex. And she also has another proposition that he never saw coming. Can Reece get Rhett to open up? Can they get on the same page? Will it all stay in Vegas?
I loved this story for many reasons! First, it was hilarious, the banter between Reece and Rhett is priceless. Second, the characters surprise each other and themselves. Third, it's sexy not because of the sex but because of the build-up. Fourth, the friendships. I can go on but I won't. I will say that I highly recommend reading it and I can't wait for the next one!
P.S. Seriously, the cutest pet names ever!
P.P.S Not sure if I can look at another drum set again without thinking of Rhett. Yum!
Quotes:
I swear, talking to guys is like trying to work Sudoku with a Sharpie… while blindfolded.
Locks have keys and walls can be climbed.
“I wasn’t cold.” “You sure? ‘Cause your nipples thought you were.”
I am huge fan of S.E. Halls books in general but I am really really loving this Finally Found Series. It is so sexy and fun and just freaking hysterical. No one makes me blush and giggle like S.E. Hall! You get to meet Rhett in the first book this series, Pretty Instinct, but I definitely do not feel like you have to read Pretty Instinct first, although it would be helpful. Plus Pretty Instinct is damn good too, so just pick it up! Anyways, Rhett is a playboy extraordinaire musician who also happens to bounce at a club in Vegas where he meets Reece, a pint sized beauty. The attraction is instant but Rhett is a one and done kind of guy and Reece is definitely not that type of girl.
Rule #1, written in blood and stone, never, ever, double dip.
Rhett and Reece’s story was fun but also really twisty and there were definitely a few surprises thrown in there. Rhetts character was interested because he was kind of a quieter more brooding type of character for SE Hall but I greatly enjoyed it. He was a hard one for Reece to figure out and I can’t blame her one bit. The man hardly said anything at all about how he felt and that totally made the story more interesting and surprising.
Men. African tongue-clicking.
Reece is just really super sweet and determined and a really really strong heroine. Plus she is itty bitty!
Reece is white-flame fucking hot in the most fascinatingly fun-sized kind of way.
There chemistry is off the charts hot and the story was so freakin hilarious. The twist and turns and the overdramatization of their friends and family made this one totally amazing.
“Does your vagina ever stop talking?” “Only when there’s something in her mouth!”
You also get to visit with old friends from the first novel and I really loved loved loved that. This authors writing is always quirky, smart, funny, and steamy. She never lets me down and Pretty Remedy was no exception. I cannot wait for more from this awesome series from one of my very favorite authors.
When I heard Rhett was getting his own books I waited patiently yet completely impatient for him to grace my Kindle with his broody, sexy self.
See You Next Tuesday have went their separate ways and Rhett and his brother Jarrett move to Vegas. Rhett does everything he can to avoid developing feelings for women. He has this never go back in twice policy and he doesn’t break his rules. Woman catch his eye for one thing and one thing only that is until he meets Reece.
Instantly Rhett feels something towards Reece that he cannot explain. He is everything he wants yet he thinks he doesn’t need. Not to mention she tells him how it is. She doesn’t sugar coat things nor try to stroke the ego that he is used to women stroking.
Reese knows his type. The hit it and quit it type. She refuses to become just another notch on his bedpost but she just can’t stay away. Reese has a secret that she is afraid to tell Rhett. Her life isn’t all sunshine and daisies. She has drama and a big move that can change her life forever. Rhett starts finding himself thinking about her, wanting to be around her and even missing her when she is gone. This little firecracker has turned his world topsy turvy and he is determined to make her his.
Yep that’s all you get! What did you think I was going to do tell you the whole story? Yeah, that’s not happening. What I can tell you is S.E. Hall never fails to write a male lead that I fall absolutely head over heels in love with. Rhett stole my heart and didn’t give it back. Pretty Remedy will make you laugh, and make your panties disintegrate. Rhett is the King of Dirty Talking. He opens his mouth and panties just melt off. The humor and S.E. Hall one liners will have you laughing out loud.
We get to see some familiar faces like Cannon and Liz again, and get a glimpse into what S.E. has in store for us in the next book.
And then there's that.
Cutest nicknames EVER
I will never look at a drum set again without blushing and needing a changed of panties.
Pretty Remedy... sigh. Oh how many times will I say "And then there's that" in the future and think of Rhett Foster. Probably every single time. And that will make me happy. Because Rhett and Reece - well, they make my heart happy.
Reece is this tiny little firecracker of a woman. Newly 21, newly free, ready to take on the world. Rhett is broody, sexy, and not planning for anything in life. One day at a time, or night at a time, seems to be his motto. When the two crash into each other's lives, everything gets shaken up. Neither expect the other. It's a beautiful thing to see when a woman can break down a man's thick barrier around his heart and when a man can bring a woman to see her own amazingness.
Pretty Remedy is so many things. Awesome. Funny. Smile-inducing. Steamy (oh the #drumscene). Beautiful. Cherishing. I cherished this book. Every part of it made me smile. SE Hall could have done so many things with Rhett's character - made him flawless - and she didn't. He was PERFECT, with his flaws. I love that Rhett didn't change overnight, that he didn't cave into anything, that he had to claw his way into becoming the person he truly is. And seeing him transform is one of the greatest things I have read.
I absolutely LOVED this rock star romance. I will admit, I have a thing for drummers. Bad Boy? Check. Humor, incredible banter and characters that sucked me in? Check. Mmmm, a sexy story that kept me swiping and turning those pages fast? Double Check.
Trust me. You don't want to miss Pretty Remedy. It will captivate you, draw you in, and make you fall in love all over again.
I adore this author. Her books are always super good and grip me from the first page just as this book did. Since reading Emerge, she became a fast favorite of mine and now I get excited when I see she has a new book coming out.
In book one of this series, we met Rhett. He was a fun and free spirit who spoke his mind and was loose with women. In this book, we get his story and I loved it. This book was sweet, sexy, funny, and a bit emotional at times. Rhett will definitely take you on an ride you will not want to get off.
This is Rhett's story! Yeah I may have fist pumped when this book hit my kindle because I am #TeamRhett all the way around. I knew from book one he was going to be a sweet, sexy, and quite complicated. Let me tell you... he did not disappoint. Rhett and Reece's story was beautiful but hard at times. Their story was heartwarming and made me smile.. They faced obstacles and it was not easy but love is always worth it.
These two had a special, deep connection. They had tons of chemistry. Rhett is your typical manwhore who is a hit and quit with no repeats kind of guy. All he needed was that one time.. that one connection... the one girl that would flip his script... that was Reece.
Pretty Remedy is yet another winner from SE Hall. She gives us a little of everything here the sexy rock star, the feisty heroine, the sweet love story, the great group of friends..it is just perfection.
When we first meet our sexy, broody, drummer boy Rhett - he is a down and dirty bad boy. As in meet the girl, rock the girls world and walk away that same night. But ohhh... if you could just listen in on this bad boy - the stuff you naughty girls dream about! And our little, tiny, feisty Reece meets him when she is in for the weekend. But she sure packs a punch and Rhett has never met anyone quite like her. She makes him want new and different things, but she is out of his league.
This book just has it all and NOT in the classic rock star book way. In true SE Hall fashion she has her own style and way of laying it all out there for us. Her characters have depth - they are three dimensional and have quirks and flaws. In other words they are relatable and REAL! We get to see how they grow and evolve throughout the book and through their interactions with each other. That is something that I truly appreciate in a book.
I loved this book! You all need to read it! And then there's that....
I received a complimentary copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
See You Next Tuesday has broken up - the band gone their separate ways. The Foster brothers decide to go to Vegas. Rhett is trying to get them noticed, but other than sending in his tapes (which the record company will buy, even if they don't want him singing them) and playing local gigs, he is at the end. The only thing he can find to keep him occupied is a different woman every night. Reece has gone to Vegas with her best friend, Landry, for her bachelorette party. When Landry suspects her fiance of cheating on her, she drags Reece to the nightclub where she thinks he is. At the door, they're greeted by the bouncer, Rhett Foster. When Rhett and Reece are thrown together and spending time with one another, they can't deny that they both feel the attraction. The biggest problem? Reece doesn't want to become just another notch in Rhett's bedpost. All the humor, sentimentality and romance you expect to get from a Finally Found novel...and let's not forget about the soundtrack (spotify:user:12125319136:playlist:2gEi2xlqRSopepE6s7UDe0)! Definitely a must read!!
***NOTE – this book is a stand-alone. It is part of the Finally Found Collection. Each book contained in this collection will be a full novel cover to cover!
I was pulled right into this story. The story has laughs, secrets, pain and heartbreak.
This is Reece and Rhett’s story. Reece meets Rhett but she is not like the other women he knows. She is in a class of her own. Reece knows Rhett is trouble but she just can’t stay away. The more she finds out about him the more she likes him. Can she get him to understand the secrets she kept? Will he want to give her all the things she needs from him? Can she trust him to stay by when her when the going gets tough? Will he be happy with the choices she is making? Will he get her to understand he truly wants her?
I loved these characters and also the side characters. I felt I was able to connect with the characters and the story was a great read.
I highly recommend this book and can’t wait for the next story from this author.
I love me some Rhett! You know that R&R up there that's Rhett & Riz.. =) This is yet another great book from SE Hall, it is from Finally Found series but it can be read as a stand alone. I am having a hard time putting a review on this one, not because I don't like it but because I don't want the story to end and I'm craving for more maybe it is safe to say that my heart belongs to a drummer. I don't know what it is with Rhett that made me fall in love with him and I feel like there's still a lot of story to tell about this man *insert dreamy sigh here*.Like in every SE Hall 's books this story is funny, sexy and a heroine that is bad ass! I also fall in love with Ozzie! I have a favorite scene in there!!! I really recommend this book.
“You are the exception, the prettiest damn remedy in the whole world, and the most astonishing person I have ever fallen into.” -Rhett
