What a fantastic read! Something totally different to other crime/thriller books I’ve read lately. First of all a HUGE thanks to the Author and Publisher for a copy of this book to review. I am so glad you got in touch with me. I devoured this one over two nights.
Okay - so this one I was into straight away and kept wanting to read it and didn’t have a moment of boredom. It’s a really interesting plot idea but it goes even beyond that. Let me try to explain. The basic premise is we have our feisty female doctor (Kyle) who along with a number of other medical professionals, elite ex-military operatives and others are a secret group of vigilantes called The Cabal. Between them they decide whom is going to be doled out justice à la medical nightmare methodology!
You know when the bad guys in books get a hit put out on them or the brakes messed with in their car? Yeah that’s for babies! This is on a whole other level.
The Author is a retired medical doctor (his story and website is amazing so check it out) therefore he knows a lot of medical terminology, methodology etc BUT the imagination used and then the research into the chosen utterly bizarre methods of death and suffering put into the book is sheer brilliance! I guarantee not one of these methods you’ve heard of before. It makes it absolutely fascinating.
Some of the methods and scenes are pretty stomach turning and graphic but I absolutely loved that! This is vigilante justice at its most imaginative. Inspiration is often taken from their victims suffering as to their own demise. It’s very clever. I learnt a lot!
During all of this our female doctor (Kyle) is beginning a relationship with another top doctor (Graham) and the book very much explores her own personal experience in how she integrates these two sides of her into her life. He is not only a top medical professional but also an ex-Army Ranger with skills galore. His struggle with PTSD is very real. I won’t go too much into what happens with these two but can’t wait for a sequel! It’s not gushy over the top romance scenes either. Very palatable and realistically done. He is very much his own character in the book. He plays an important role too.
The book is written from various POV’s and voices which I really enjoyed (the good guys and the bad guys) and had no issue differentiating one voice from another (don’t you hate it when you can’t tell a character has switched POV? Pet peeve of mine) so kudos for that.
All the characters that enter the book (and those that exit) are very distinctive and easy to imagine. I like this in a book. Nothing worse than not quite grasping even a peripheral character.
This is a very unique medical thriller with a hefty dose of vigilante crime justice. I truly can highly recommend it. It was a dynamic read and a lot of the scenes are so cleverly detailed and utterly mind-boggling fascinating that it’s hard to put it down.
Honest to God, I’ve never read a book out of hundreds and hundreds where the justice dished out and the kill and suffering methods were this complex, interesting and unique! It makes is stand out. Very clever.
The ending is just non-stop action and sets the book up really well for the follow-up. I’m hungry to find out what’s going to happen now. Hugely unpredictable and that’s what I love.
The fact that Dr. Gary Brown M.D. waited his entire life for this novel to be out there is so commendable. After years of helping others medically, writing a zillion peer reviewed papers but always harbouring the desire to have a book published! At age 76. He never gave up. As a “later life” writer myself I relate. It’s truly never too late to follow a dream. I really hope this book gets the attention it deserves. I can’t wait for the next one! Five solid stars from me. Both thriller and crime fans will like this one.

Their budding romance is overshadowed by her involvement with the Tribunal—a dangerous world she is determined to keep him away from, yet one that may be too much for her to carry alone.
From the very first pages, I felt transported into an episode of ER. An ambulance rushes in with a critically injured patient, doctors race against the clock, split-second decisions determine life or death, and a sudden collapse forces an agonizing choice: push forward or turn back. My pulse was pounding!
While I enjoy medical thrillers, I haven't read many of them, and I could hardly believe this was a debut novel. Although new to fiction, Gary Brown, MD, is far from a novice writer, having authored hundreds of articles and several medical textbooks. The story contains plenty of blood, gore, and graphic medical detail, and I couldn't shake the suspicion these cases were inspired by real-life experiences from the author's long medical career. As it turns out, that suspicion was correct, as he explains in a personal note at the end of the book. If you're squeamish, you may want to check the trigger warnings beforehand.
Like Dr. Kyle McMann, I found myself conflicted about the violence carried out by the Tribunal. Yet the horrific crimes described throughout the novel underscore a troubling reality: far too often, terrible people evade punishment.
If you're looking for a twisty, revenge-fueled medical thriller packed with moral dilemmas, suspense, and plenty of surgical drama, this is one you'll want to check out!

INVISIBLE JUSTICE is the first in the Kyle McMann & Graham Kurland series of medical thrillers. Kyle is our FMC, and Graham is our MMC. Both of them are doctors, working in Pennsylvania.
We begin with Kyle at the very start of her journey, and then jump ahead a couple of years to where she is now. During that time, she has her own rehab due to an aneurysm, becomes top in her field, and is invited to The Tribunal. That is a group of people who became vigilantes when justice let them down. As for Graham, he was a soldier, so suffers from PTSD, as well as being one of the top surgeons. He deals with some interesting cases during the book, some of which are a direct result of Kyle and the Tribunal.
The story is interesting as it deals with a touchy subject. Those that heal shouldn't harm... but when is it acceptable? When the evil ones walk free, and the innocent die, where is the justice? This was the part I loved the most. It did make me chuckle, though, when the victim and perpetrator both died similarly, and no one noticed but Graham.
The start of an intriguing series, INVISIBLE JUSTICE gets 4 out of 5 great stars.
One thing to take notice of: the deaths in here can be considered gruesome, so if reading things like that on page affects you, please take note of the trigger warnings.

Invisible Justice is the first book in author Dr. Gary Brown's electric new Kyle McMann & Graham Kurland Medical Thrillers series, and readers will be glued to their seats as this exciting story unfolds. The story is so well done and polished that I was surprised and delighted to learn this is the author's fiction debut!
After losing her younger brother in an unsolved crime of violence, Dr. Kyle McMann struggles with guilt that she failed to save his life when he showed up in the ER where she was working. Other medical professionals who have also suffered similarly tragic losses join together to form the secret group called 'The Tribunal,' where the members agree to enact retribution for victims whose perpetrators have escaped justice. Made up of medical doctors and two former Navy SEALs, The Tribunal's methods of punishment are ingenious, undetectable, and strive to fit the crime they are avenging. But a new doctor at the hospital where Kyle works has brought his own brand of brilliance to his job and is often only steps behind Kyle in figuring out what is wrong with the patients who were The Tribunal's targets. Relying on The Godfather's adage, "Keep your friends close and your enemies closer," Kyle sets out to get close to Dr. Graham Kurland, only to discover a real connection forming between them.After her devastating loss, Kyle McMann suffers her own medical emergency and is lucky to have survived. I loved that these two middle-aged go-getters are both in a position to pursue their mutual attraction freely. They make a great couple, and their scenes together are fun and flirty, but with an underlying tension as Kyle tries to keep Graham from discovering her secret agenda and the true nature of The Tribunal's targets' afflictions.
The story is told through multiple points of view, and not just those of the two main characters. Good guys and bad guys alike have a part of the narrative, so readers know, without a doubt, who's who. The good guys have moments where they struggle with their actions but are convinced they are doing the right thing. The bad guys are overtly evil people, and the deeds attributed to them are heinous and shocking at times. The ingenious methods of retribution that the doctors on The Tribunal develop will take your breath away. The author writes with authority but explains medical details so clearly that even untrained readers can follow the plot: gripping and graphic, without delving too deeply into the science or relying on jargon that might go over the layperson reader's head.With its compelling plot and engaging, complex characters, I recommend INVISIBLE JUSTICE to readers of medical thrillers.

Invisible Justice by Gary Brown, MD is a thriller involving the medical industry. Our FMC is Dr. Kyle who is a medical doctor who saves lives but she keeps seeing criminals escape their punishments. Then she finds The Tribunal. This is an elite group of members across the medical field, intelligence agencies, and also other branches of government. These members hunt down the killers and criminals that escape the law system and bring them to justice. I quite enjoyed the medical terminology that was used and accurate as it is written by a retired medical doctor who is a great writer in addition to his former career. And the fact that Kyle gets involved with another doctor named Graham in a romantic relationship is icing on a very well baked cake. Graham is an ex-Army Ranger who has some issues with after his service and PTSD. You get various POV's in this story and if you love criminal justice you will LOVE this book, there is a very good amount of justice for criminals who slip through the cracks. This is a great medical thriller and I would love to read another book by this author soon!

Fantastic read and debut novel!!! The author being a medical expert, brought such expertise to this book that reading it makes you wonder how possible it all really can be! Two brilliant doctors confronting violent crimes, moral dilemmas, and decisions that challenge everything they believe about medicine, responsibility, and the limits of their oath to do no harm. They navigate a precarious world where medicine, murderers, revenge, and human conscience conflict. Add to the drama a love story between two brilliant doctors trying to co-exist and love each other in a world full of death, and the miraculous saving of lives.
This book is not only a thriller but a powerful examination of what can happen when two ordinary people in the medical field have to decide that the law is no longer enough to save their patients.
A fast paced read because you will not be able to put it down! Looking forward to the next book in the series!

I am not a huge fan of medical dramas, I am however a fan of moral revenge dilemmas. What would you do if you lost someone and the person responsible got away with it? What if you found a way to exact revenge without getting caught? These doctor's think that they are doing what is right, but they forgot the Hippocratic oath that they took. I thought that the way the author used his background in medicine to describe how to kill was a fresh new look at medical dramas. At times the scenes were bloody and it went along with the feel of the book. I enjoyed the multiple point of views from different characters and I also enjoyed that each chapter said were they were, mostly PA. This is a fast thriller that it sure to be a fast read. The ending was left pretty open, so I assume that there will be another book about these characters. I also want to mention that I applaud the author for telling his readers to never give up. His story is one to check out. I am giving this book a 5/5. I was given a copy, all opinions are my own.

Invisible Justice is Gary Brown's debut novel and he has written a story that kept me glued to the pages. I love books about vigilante justice, and Invisible Justice supplies some wickedly delicious payback to its criminals, making me think of Dexter. The bad thing about vigilante justice is 'how far will you go down such a dark path' before you lose sight of yourself? Dr Kyle McMann and The Tribunal will find out.

Secrets are never good for a relationship, so it was interesting to see how Gary Brown would handle the love story between Dr Kyle McMann and Dr. Graham Kurland.
I'll definitely have my eyes open for any of Gary Brown's future work.

Invisible Justice is one of those books where the story carries you along. The premise is compelling: a doctor whose brother is murdered becomes involved with a clandestine group delivering vigilante justice to people who have escaped accountability. The mix of revenge, moral ambiguity, suspense, and a developing romance kept me turning the pages.
What worked for me was the central idea and the characters. I found myself invested in the protagonist’s journey and interested to see where the story would go next. The relationship between the two doctors added another layer to the plot without overwhelming the main narrative.
As the first book in a trilogy, it does a good job of setting up the wider story, and I’m looking forward to seeing what happens in the next instalment.
If you’re looking for a story-driven thriller with an intriguing concept and plenty of momentum, Invisible Justice is worth a read.

Invisible Justice was something completely different from what I’ve read in a thriller before, and I really enjoyed it! I went into this not really knowing what to expect, and I ended up getting hooked by the unique storyline.
One of my favorite parts was getting multiple POVs throughout the story. I really enjoyed being able to see things from both sides… the good guys AND the bad guys. Getting inside the heads of the different characters gave me a better understanding of what was happening and made the story even more interesting.
I also loved that it wasn’t just about trying to figure out what was going to happen next. Getting the different perspectives made me question who was right, who was wrong, and where that line between justice and revenge really falls.
This was definitely a different kind of thriller for me, and I enjoyed the change of pace. It kept me curious and wanting to see how everything was going to play out.

Gary Brown writes a winner
I read the book in two days. Couldn't find a place to stop because each chapter left me hanging. The characters were developed well and I felt everything they were experiencing .
I can't wait for the next book to come out.
Gary uses his knowledge of medicine to weave an elaborate plot that is filled with excitement and empathy towards innocent victims.
I highly recommend this book if you like a fast paced page turner.

This book was a page turner. It is a medical thriller that does a great job of hooking you in to keep reading. I read it in two days. Brown’s descriptions are very accurate whether writing about the bad guys, what they do to innocent people and the justice that is given to match their deeds. It pits the Hippocratic oath promised by doctors to do no harm with the need to seek adequate justice by undercover medicine that DOES harm.All along a love story evolves! I loved the book!

It’s about Doctors getting justice on those doing wrong yet there are twists n turns that will keep you so focused you will keep turning to the next page wondering! This is a great book the Characters and story line will keep you focused a must read! Loved it!!

fast paced and great story

I basically liked the book. I never knew there were so many ways to seek revenge. I worked as a nurse for 50 years and did find the make-up of the Tribunal a little disturbing.
