கிட்டத்தட்ட முப்பது ஆண்டுகளாக இயற்கை வேளாண்மைக்காக இடைவிடாமல் போராடும் போராளி டாக்டர் கோ.நம்மாழ்வார். ஒற்றை மனிதனாக ஆரம்பித்த இவரது வாழ்க்கைப் பயணம், இன்று லட்சக்கணக்கான மக்களை இயற்கை விவசாயத்தின் பக்கம் திரும்ப வைத்திருக்கிறது. அண்ணாமலைப் பல்கலைக்கழகத்தில் இளங்கலை வேளாண் பட்டம் பெற்று, தமிழக வேளாண் துறையில் பணியில் சேர்ந்தவர் நம்மாழ்வார். ரசாயன உரங்கள், பூச்சிக்கொல்லி மருந்துகள், வீரிய விதைகள் ஆகியவற்றால் வேளாண்மை முழுக்க நஞ்சாகி விட்டதைக் கண்டு கொதித்து, பணியிலிருந்து வெளியேறியவர். நிலங்களில் விதைப்பது வாடிக்கை... இவரோ நிலங்களையே விதைகளாக்கியிருக்கிறார். ஆம். இயற்கை வேளாண்மைக்கான விதையை தமிழகம் முழுக்கப் பல்வேறு இடங்களில் விதைத்து, இன்றைக்கு அவையெல்லாம் இயற்கை வேளாண்மைக்கான பயிற்சிப் பட்டறைகளாக மிளிர்வதுதான் இவரது வாழ்க்கை அர்ப்பணிப்புக்குக் கிடைத்துள்ள வெற்றி! இயற்கை வேளாண் விஞ்ஞானி என்று அழைக்கப்படும் இவரது பேச்சு மற்றும் எழுத்தில் சமூகம், இயற்கை, கலாசாரம், வரலாறு, அரசியல், பொருளாதாரம், மருத்துவம், விளையாட்டு, சுற்றுச்சூழல் என்று பூமிப்பந்திலிருக்கும் அனைத்தும் அடங்கியிருக்கும்.

Nammazhvar (Tamil : கோ. நம்மாழ்வார், 6 April 1938 – 30 December 2013) was an Indian green crusader, agricultural scientist, environmental activist and organic farming expert best known for his work on spreading ecological farming and organic farming. He led the protest against the methane gas project started by Great Eastern Energy Corporation proposed in the Cauvery delta region of Tamilnadu. Nammazhvar was the author of several Tamil and English books on natural farming, natural pesticides & natural fertilizers and was featured in magazines & television programs.

விகடன் குழுமத்தார் செய்துள்ள சில நல்ல காரியங்களில் இந்நூலும் ஒன்று. இந்நூல் இரண்டு பகுதிகளை கொண்டுள்ளது. நான் நம்மாழ்வார் பேசுகிறேன் (நம்மாழ்வார் ஐயா அவர்கள் எழுதியது) மற்றும் நான் நம்மாழ்வாருக்காக பேசுகிறேன் (ஐயா அவர்களுடன் நெருங்கிப் பழகியவர்கள் ஐயாவை பற்றி எழுதியது).
நூலில் இருந்து சில வரிகள்:
கோவில்பட்டி வட்டார உழவர்கள் எதைப் பயிரிட வேண்டும் என்பதை டெல்லியில் முடிவு செய்தார்கள்.
சின்ன அம்மாச்சிக்கு, இடுப்புக்கு மேல் உடம்பு முன் நோக்கி வளைந்து இருக்கும். நிமிருந்து நிற்கவோ, நடக்கவோ முடியாது. ஆணாதிக்கச் சமூகத்தின் முத்திரை சின்ன அம்மாச்சி.

அநீதிக்கு விட்டுக் கொடுப்பதும், அதிகாரத்தைத் தவறாகப் பயன்படுத்துவதும், மனதளவில் விபசாரம் செய்வதைத் தவிர வேறில்லை.
ஏழைகளிடம் உள்ள நிலத்தைப் பறித்து பணக்காரர்களிடம் ஒப்படைப்பது என்ற கொள்கையை மத்திய, மாநில அரசுகள் முழுமூச்சுடன் இன்றளவும் செயல்படுத்தி வருகின்றன..... இப்போதெல்லாம் கார்ப்பரேட் கம்பனிகளுக்கு நிலங்கள் தாரை வார்க்கப்படுகின்றன.
இந்த நாட்டு ஏழைகளுக்கு மருத்துவ வசதி அளிக்கவேண்டியது தேசத்தின் கடமை.
இந்திய நாட்டில் பணக்காரர்கள், பிச்சைக்காரர்களாக இருப்பது வியப்பளிக்கிறது.
நமது எதிரி நம்மைப் பற்றி தவறாகப் பேசினால்... நாம் சரியாக இருக்கிறோம் என்று பொருள்.
விஞ்ஞானம் என்கிற போர்வையில் நடக்கும் வியாபாரம், தாய் மண்ணைச் சாகடிக்கிறது.

This book was posthumously published again after nammalvar's demise. The book speaks on memoirs of nammalvar with people he worked to setup kozhinji and vanagam. The book intrigues any nature lover who loves the agriculture and trees. There can be no other better person other than nammalvar to love the nature at its best. Nammalvar not only farmer background, basically he is a scientist and well educated person. He always has his own charisma in explaining even complicated things and book just passes as a walk beside him. Great personality to be always adored!!!

Iyarkai Vivasayatha pathi therinjukanumna Nammalvar ah kadakama varamudiyadhu!! His contribution towards Organic Farming, Environment awareness and love towards nature is far more beyond than what we have actually thought!! Jallikattu poratam & Kadhiramangal Methane Eduthal porattam, Vivasaya kadan porattadha pathi FB la share panna mattum podhadhu, Adha pathina aalamana arivu venumndra oru ennam dhan indha Book ah padika vachidhu!! Just drank a small drop of water by reading this Book, lot more there to explore!! Arumaiyana Puthakam!!

Truly remarkable autobiography/biography of a man who stood for farming using natural methods. Nammalvar is well-known icon in the agricultural circles, yet his humility and modesty made him win the hearts of many and also the respect he very much deserves. It is very hard to find such a person who is so persistent, enduring and committed to one field, esp Agriculture that to in the old natural ways. It is very hard to fight against the corporate advent of engineered, hybrid and GMO crops and the harmful pesticides and make people turn to natural ways of farming. This man is a great example and a role-model that with perseverance and endurance in agriculture. He played a major role in reviving the natural methods of farming across the country and has taught people across the globe about methods of natural farming. No wonder he is respected so much and still considered to be living among them, though he is no more.

He is very great person. his attitude is always towards saving the future of agriculture and helping the people in organic farming. he played a vital role in getting patent of NEEM TREE by fighting against US. Its a must read book by all to understand the great personality who lived in tamilnadu.
