Mark and Veila are a rue passionate pair. I like how the author kind of left where they were going to live up in the air. Keeps me interested for more.

Typical EllecThorne fare, fast paced, sexy, and sweet. I loved Mark and Veila. Mark's willingness to wait for Veila to be sure was heart-melting. I love that he maintained his alpha-ness while recognizing her need to lead as well. I kinda wish the book had gone far enough to sort out how they worked out how to manage both their leadership roles in different states. Perhaps that will be a backdrop in future books. I like the Tiero family a lot. Looling forward to the next story.

Mark, a lion shifter, mates with Veila, a tigress. Hmmm.......interesting. Not unbelievable. Definitely interested in seeing how their relationship plays out in future books.

Adversary is the Romeo and Juliet-style romance of Veila Tiero and Mark Martinez, a lion shifter Alpha leader of the Martinez tribe in Florida and Puerto Rico.
Mark and his brother Mason are in Dallas, Texas to crash a council meeting – one they had rudely not been invited to. That would soon change. They only had rumor to go on for any information about the Tiero tribe or its leaders. But the fact that they did not acknowledge their tribe, arguably the oldest tribe in America was telling. They had heard that there was no intermingling of shifter species or humans in this territory. As they burst into the council meeting that information proved to be very wrong as they saw leaders of shifter tribes of all species gathered in this room. Quickly escorted out of the meeting by the Tiero security team, Mark and Mason were left to stew in a cage.
When Vax and Veila’s father unexpectedly turned up at the council meeting all hell breaks loose. Giovanni Tiero was an impressive sight, an older man, locked into his old, archaic ways. He strongly believed that there should never be mingling between shifter species and never with humans. His old ways were no longer tolerated in the modern world, but he would try to toss down the gauntlet causing Vax to leave and Veila to take control.
Veila’s tigress and Mark’s lion knew they were mates. Fast, no time to adjust – they simply spotted their mate and urged their human sides to catch up with the program. The shifter communities are in a bit of chaos now with Giovanni’s declaration. But Veila has a plan – one she will implement once she and Mark get their relationship on a firmer footing.
While it may seem that Mark and Veila’s relationship was rushed, if I’m thinking in a shifter’s mindset… it’s really not. Two shifters saw and recognized their mate, the only mate for them and acted on it. They left it up to the human side to tackle any complications. Giovanni is old world, old school and perhaps simply old. His action brings an unexpected result, and sets up the future of the Tiero Tribe.
Adversary is an extremely fast paced story. I didn’t see it as rushed but as intense with things happening on different fronts at the same time. Simply a lot to deal with for our characters. Veila is such a strong woman and even an alpha shifter. Nowhere is it ever indicated that Alpha leaders are all male. She will stand tall and make an executive decision that will affect everyone she cares about. And she will do it strong and proud.
If you enjoy shifters and their communities, the intricately woven tales of different people and their histories – then you would enjoy the Always After Dark series and Adversary in particular. I take one day to read and review each story in the spinoff series in order to immerse myself in their world. It is an experience I always enjoy and come back for more.

Wow...just loved this one too! I was really glad how things worked out at the end especially for Vax. I know not everything is settled as of yet with Mark and Veila and where they will be going since they are both alphas. Veila was awesome! I liked her all through it. She's one tough tigress....she's had to deal with a lot and I felt for her. Stressful and having to deal with so much while Vax was absent and taking care of things to get ready to this big meeting...which their Father crashes. It was expected sort of...but I didnt see the events following coming lol. Mark was kind of a jerk at first seriously. There's a lot of animosity between their people an old feud in a way. However, he kinda lets it go after figuring out Veila is his...he could care less because thats his freakin tigress. LOL. I loved their story and enjoyed reading it. Can't wait to see what Elle has in store next. Look forward to reading who's up next with their story. :)

Read in the Always After Dark boxed set.
This story, like the series as a whole is a total disappointment. The summary makes this novella out to be a Romeo and Juliet tale, but excepting the fact that the two families have history (which isn't even recent), I don't see the resemblance. There is seriously not a strong personality in this series, which leads me to believe the author doesn't know how to write them. The males are weak, as are the women, who are all TSTL on some level. The writing is amateurish and there are a lot of words, but little plot. The love scenes are wordy (and not in a good way), boring, and lack passion. I honestly skimmed through every single one in the series. I will not be reading the last one and I'm ticked that I bought the boxed set. What a waste of my time and money.

Being a woman in the Tiero family has never been easy but Viela has learned to stand on her own with the support of her brother Vax. Alpha Mark Martinez, a lion shifter invades Tiero towers with a purpose that is quickly forgotten when he sees the sexy tigress. Another love story with the odds stacked against them. Two alphas, two different species, a long forgotten feud and old beliefs that need to be changed. This was a quick easy read about letting go of old beliefs and allowing the new generation to take control. Ms. Thorne has created a great shifter world with lots of interesting things going on and I can't wait to see what she comes up with next.

Lions and Tigers oh my
Who said opposite attract are so right who had thought Lions,Tigers, an Bears could get along. These guys did. What's right is still right. When a difference in nature makes a difference for the good of all sometime you have to take the bull by the horns and just do it. That's what Bella an Mark are doing just as her big brother love is love take what you can when it happens hopefully it will last a lifetime. Great read. Can't wait to see who fines the one next. Saw a few possibilities. Looking forward to next story.

Veila is second to Vax in command and she loves it. Running the things that she knew would never happen if their father was there. A conference is called with the heads of the other shifter clans. During it lions bust in demanding to know why they weren't invited. Veila looks into the eyes of her forever but a problem in the form of their father shows up and the crap hits the fan. I love how the books tie together. A very exciting series. Not just sex but some drama and mystery mixed in.

Good Read
Looking forward reading the next books in this series. Poor Viela has the weight on her shoulder does she following her heart or staying true to her family In this book finally get to meet the infamous Giovanni Tiero who stuck in his bias ways not realizing he risk losing his family altogether. I wish that Viela and Mark had a little more time to get to know one another their relationship seem kind a rush but besides that a very enjoyable read.

Celia and Mark's story is so much a Romeo and Juliet tale. However, thankfully not too much drama to side track the romance. Very Hot though! Glad there was follow up on the other characters from it :(we books. Love that part!
