Book Two of the Echo Class, A science fiction, time traveling thriller.

When MedTech Tracy Nichols is sent to retrieve a missing colleague, she expects a rescue mission—not a fracture in reality itself.
Peter Bishop, her closest friend, has been remade by an alien intelligence into something no longer entirely human. Gifted with the power to bend time and reshape worlds, he believes he is humanity’s reckoning.
As timelines splinter and civilizations teeter on collapse, Tracy discovers she carries a latent alien ability of her own—one that could restore balance or erase everything. To stop Peter, she must confront the man he used to be, master a power she barely understands, and choose between saving the future… or saving the last piece of him.
In a universe where time is negotiable and loyalty has a breaking point, Echo Two If you can transcend humanity, what part of yourself will you sacrifice?

Echo Two by Jeff Shaw is a fast-paced science fiction thriller that blends time travel, alien intelligence, and high-stakes action into an engaging story. Tracy Nichols is a strong, determined protagonist, while Peter Bishop's transformation from trusted friend to powerful adversary adds real emotional weight. His betrayal of Echo Two and Echo Nine makes the conflict feel deeply personal rather than just cosmic.

I especially enjoyed the references to Earth's food shortages, which grounded the futuristic setting in believable concerns. The big cats were a surprising and memorable addition, adding warmth and wonder amid the chaos. Shaw balances complex time-travel concepts with compelling characters and plenty of suspense, while asking thoughtful questions about humanity, loyalty, and the price of transcending what makes us human. A satisfying read for fans of intelligent, character-driven science fiction.

I enjoyed this book as much as its predecessor, Echo Nine. I will read more from this author.

Another hit!

I've enjoyed all of Jeff's books. This one, like the others, leaves me wanting more. I loved the idea of time and dimensional travel, visiting other worlds, meeting new animals and beings...Can't wait for the next book.
