Roots & Roadmaps

Rate this book
Opposites attract in this cozy small town romance.

Indie has never stayed in one place for long. Life on the open road is all she knows since gaining her freedom. Moving from farmers makers to farmers market in her lavender VW bus, chasing adventure instead of growing roots.

Lucas Carrington doesn’t do adventure. He does routines, responsibility, and the quiet comfort of the family farm. He takes every opportunity to reinforce his family's roots.

The last thing he needs is a free spirited red head riding in on her purple vessel of change.

Somewhere between jars of honey, fields of wildflowers, and Saturdays at the local market, Indie and Lucas begin to wonder if love might be worth disrupting their current life paths.

Will Lucas find the courage to follow a new roadmap?
Or will Indie discover that sometimes the bravest thing is to finally plant roots?

⭐️⭐️⭐️

I purchased this book at an independent local bookstore, and since the authors are local to me as well, I picked it up. Plus, that cover! 😍Bonus: It is a signed copy. I also enjoyed the cute chapter names!

Roots and Roadmaps is a cute, fluffy romance. While it is a little ‘green’ in places it’s worth it if you’re looking for a quick read to support budding authors. The relationships, both platonic friendships and romantic interest, seemed a little rushed and there was some disconnect in the plot flow at times throughout the first half of the book. It got better towards the middle but then the end felt rushed and disconnected again. Overall, I did think it was an enjoyable read and a nice indie-published debut. I wish the authors the best on future works. 🤗

I just finished reading this on release day! Such a sweet story. I really love that the story is filled with kindness. With the world the way it is, it's nice to read something where things are just good. No games, no betrayal, no huge misunderstandings. The setting is crafted so well that I felt like I could smell honeysuckle and feel the breeze. I love the chapter titles. And, the cover is beautiful. Congrats to the new author team 💜

Roots and Roadmaps is quite a journey— in the best way possible! This was such a great read. Indie is a nomad who breezes into Deer Isle for the farmers market season. Lucas is a strait laced, family focused farmer. They are opposites but drawn to each other.

But what happens when they meet when Indie shows up late to the market where Lucas is selling his family farm’s honey. Lucas is annoyed by Indie, but she is good at what she does—she comes in full of whimsy and fun before selling out early.

They didn’t know much about each other, but are drawn to each other. Indie is all about roadmaps, moving on a whim and selling her soaps and dried wildflowers at markets across the country. But she soon meets not only Lucas but Sloane, who becomes her best friend.

What happens when it’s time for indie to move on? And what issues might she and Lucas face during their budding romance?

This book has found family, opposites attract, and slow burn love— with a hint of Gilmore Girls mixed in.

Roots and Roadmaps was SUCH a fun/cute read!!! I loved getting to know the main characters - Indie, Lucas and Sloane. It was so fun to not only see Indie and Lucas’ relationship unfold throughout the story, but also the close friendship between Indie and Sloane. This book had me laughing and then crying and then laughing again.

I would absolutely recommend this book to everyone!

This was such a sweet, easy, small town, cozy romance. I enjoyed following Indie and her arrival at Deer Isle for the market and her being drawn into not only the town but to Lucas. I loved her friendship with Sloane as well as how her relationship grows with Lucas’ family as the story unfolds through their ups and downs.
