I have liked the Emma Griffin series and have read each one as they have become available. However, this book and the one prior have left me wondering what’s going on. They seem to have become disjointed and confusing and have left me wondering if I skipped a book or missed a few chapters. For example, in this story there is a prologue that is pretty intense and immediately peaks your interest. That particular character does reappear a couple of times but it doesn’t connect to the current story until 75% of the way through. Also, there is a very descriptive 1st chapter regarding a young lady, and she was never brought up again in this book at all. I guess I feel that since that character took up a significant portion of the book, and was the very 1st chapter, that it deserved better attention. It is frustrating as a reader to have a lot of loose ends, not just cliffhangers, when the book ends. I hope they improve because it is a series with likable characters and interesting plots. Just disappointed in this one and the one before.

Not the best I have read

Book began with a story about Shay on a beach. Then skips to Posey. Shay is never mentioned again. I have been a fan of the Emma Griffin series but the last couple I have read are pretty much cookie cutter. I also want a story that flows. Shay sounded more interesting than Posey. sorry to say I probably won’t be reading anymore. the first 30 I read were good and couldn’t wait to read the next. sorry Ms Rivers

Emma gets an urgent call from Xavier. Posey Kincaid has been found murdered. What happened? Who would want her dead? What was she investigating that would put her in that kind of danger? It's up to Emma to find out, and it's not going to be easy.

Shocked me with that ending!

This kept me on my toes, turning pages as fast as possible. And what a shocker it was! Love it when Emma gets snarky with someone she is questioning. Looking forward to Emma and Ava together again.

What???

Waaay too many loose ends. You spend an hour on 20% of the book only for it to never be brought back up.
I have read all but Bella Walker but feel maybe AJ is getting burnt out. Maybe time for new author.

What the....

I was such a fan of this series but now, not so much. It's like the Author has to many books going on and not focussing on her best selling series. The struggle was real with this one.

Can’t get enough of Emma!

Another thrilling case and Emma hard at work to solve it. A.J. Rivers never disappoints. Keep the Emma stories coming!

I started skipping pages about a quarter of the way through. The dialogue is choppy. The premise is sketchy. I'll never waste my time with this author again.

Past meets present

All of Rivers' characters are part of this plot. The middle is more Emma Griffin and intriguing. There are points that lose the reader.
