Micah Delgado has always seen the world differently. Returning home to Las Tierras means stepping into a future already mapped out for him—one shaped by legacy, pressure, and a father who expects him to lead without hesitation. But Micah isn’t ready to become the man everyone else sees. Especially when one unexpected connection begins to change everything.
Alita is focused, controlled, and bound by duty. As Micah’s bodyguard, her job is protect him, no matter the cost. Getting close was never part of the plan. Neither was understanding him in a way no one else ever had.
Caught between expectation and independence, Micah makes a bold choice; but some ties can’t be easily broken… and some feelings refuse to stay buried.
Saddle up as we return to Las Tierras for a coming of age story filled with tension, loyalty, self-discovery, and a slow-burning love that refuses to be ignored.

I enjoyed reading how Micah came in to his own as a man. At the same time I’m saddened to see the series end. An epilogue wrap up (or better one more book to let us know how the family is doing) would’ve been/would be nice. I also what to thank Ms. Gaines for giving us a book worthy of her books in the beginning . I enjoyed reading without a lot of missed editing errors interrupting the flow of the story.
The journey of Micah and Alita is heartwarming. I laughed, empathized and cheered them on until the end. Micah’s siblings Angel, Isabella and Christina give you insights into the family dynamics and the love they share for each other. This book does not disappoint and is a must read.
The Cartel family that connected the Delgados and the Trodat families has nurtured the Fer De Lance, his children, his marriage, the marriage of his eldest son, and now the marriage of one of the youngest Delgado sons, Micah. Micah and Alita have now gone from protector/protectee to husband and wife. There were moments where I laughed so hard I had to hold my stomach. Micah showed what most people forget that being on the spectrum does not mask the fact that in Micah's case he is operating in the level of genius! I love how their father showed his two youngest sons both designated as special needs, that he and the Lady of the Lands (the former Ryanne Trodat whom they call Mama) embraced the genius and individual manner in which Michah and Angel navigated their way in the world. I like that neither of their parents tried to suppress their natural abilities and supported their decision making abilities. I took my time reading Micah and Alita's story because I wanted to do their relationship and the underlying subject matter the proper justice. Thank you Olivia for presenting Micah and his special genius in such a positive and humane way. I loved this story and gained even more respect for people living on the Spectrum of Autism and Down Syndrome (Angel's special life condition). Both Micah and Angel are thriving because they are shown unconditional love, respect, and allowed to develop their own personalities fully.
I wait oh so patiently for these books to be released... I am never disappointed...I love the family dynamics for this immediate family...the extended not so much...I love how the grandparents were handled...Micah was the real deal...I love how the relationship unfolded...I love Angel and his zest for life ..I am definitely a fan of the lady of the fields...#greatread
I absolutely loved everything about this story! I'm glad that Micah was able to find his way and tell his grandparents exactly how he an Angel felt about how they treated them. Alita rocks! ; she is a solid foundation for him and she loves him for who he is and not for what he can give her. She understood him on a molecular level. A truly great story. I hope you Wright more about them in the future.
This book was wonderful. I enjoyed every part of it. Micah and Alita were a great couple who understood each other seeing how grew up together. I love that you mention people from the technicians series. This was such a great book that I will be reading it again along with the previous books about the family. This was worth the wait. Thank you Ms. Gaines for a great book. God bless.
Micah!!! This chapter of the Delgados was superb! I didn’t want it to end! Very cliche, but watching Micah and Alita grow closer over time was beautiful ! Micah secretly improving the lot of her family, speaking his peace to his grandparents, going ALL the way awwf in the retelling to his father the Fer de Lance… pure gold. Alita including Angel in deescalating Micah was chef’s kiss! This story was well worth the wait!
I enjoyed this book because it showed even though a person is on the spectrum that they are unable to achieve the goals they set for themselves. Even though Micah was ill treated by his grandparents they lost out at the end because they thought they could control Micah but found out his was more than what they expected. I would recommend this book everyone. Olive keep them coming. I can't wait to read about Andres.
I smiled (and sometimes laughed) through the entire story!
Based on prior books where we "met" them, I thought I would enjoy Micah and Alita's story and was not disappointed. The understanding, the loyalty, the inner strength, the love and humor of the Delgado family was a true joy to read. I tried to slow down so that I wouldn't finish the book too quickly. Loved it!
Micah and Alita are a true force!! I loved how Micah stood up for the ones he loved and against the elitists. Whether they were connected to his family or whatever. He stood his ground with Alita beside him. I enjoyed reconnecting with the other Delgados . It's been a while.
My favorite character Mrs. Gaines has written is Eduardo Delgado. I loved seeing him and his family as they grow. Micah being the third son and who has Asperger's shows that not only is he his father's so he is much worse. There was so much laughter which is a staple in Mrs. Gaines books. I hope this isn't the last we hear from the Delgado's.
I hated to start reading this book knowing that it's the finale. Although we didn't catch up with the Blakemores, it was still an enjoyable read. Another humor filled, much enjoyed book by Olivia Gaines!
I love the evolution of Micah. The journey of Micah in this book and his protection of Alita and his way of life and his destiny was amazing. This was very well written. Well done!
This is a funny, thoughtful, lively read. If you’ve read the previous books, it will all fall into place. OG is a master storyteller. Micah is a very interesting, strong and intelligent character. Alita is totally his person. 10/10!!!
Oh this was wonderful. I missed them am so glad we got one last story (or,so we think. Nevertheless, and awesome story. I love how this turned out strong, heroine, funny main characters I wish we had more of Yunior and Diadra but I lived this story.
Again, Olivia hit it out of the park!!!! I truly loved this book! The main characters, Micah and Alita, have been my favorites throughout the Technician series! Thank you for continuing great writing!! I am an huge fan of your work!
Micah was beyond my expectations!!! I love how Olivia highlighted the uniqueness of his personality. Definitely worth the wait!!! Excited to see what’s next.
