About the author

When I’m not chasing after my wild preschooler, I like to write super sexy romances and scorching hot erotica. I live in Texas with a husband who could easily snag a job as an extra on History Channel’s new Viking series, a sweet but rowdy three-year-old with Tetralogy of Fallot, and Bosley, our Great Dane with major mommy issues.

Handling business three hours away, Nikolai get the call that Vee is in labor! Kostya drives and gets him to the house in two hours top. Nikolai jumps from a still moving car and heads upstairs to his anxious wife. Nikolai is doing what he does best-- runnin' things at that point. But when Vee curses 'Blayd'... well it time to make it to the hospital and stat. Within that time Vee tells Nikolai that instead of having five children, well one will be more that enough! The pain of labor ain't easy but she wanted natural birth not the epidural route. No way!

So when the heir, Lev is born well the baby literally roared thus the title, "Lion's First Roar!"...lol!

I loved the gentle, loving side of Nikolai as well as the mafia boss persona side he commands and really owns it.

JUST SO TOUCHING:

"Lev had opened his eyes and blinked slowly as Nikolai talked to him in Russian. His son couldn’t understand a word coming from his mouth, but he didn’t let that stop him.“I’m not a good man. I’ve made so many mistakes. But I’ll be a good father to you. I’ll be a good father and a good husband, and you will always know how much you are loved.” His eyes burned, and he blinked rapidly to clear them. He swore on his life that his son would never know the hunger and pain and trauma and abuse that had ruined his own childhood. “You and your mother are the reason I breathe.”

"Lev had worked one of his small arms free from the swaddling blanket and bumped his fist against Nikolai’s finger. A moment later, he captured it—and Nikolai’s heart nearly burst in his chest. The love he felt for his son overwhelmed him. A tear slid down his cheek, but he didn’t wipe it away. For one of those rare moments, he allowed himself to feel everything."

Very sweet story of Lev's birth. I could relate with all of Vivian's aches and pains. The best part was getting Nikolai's perspective, and the tenderness and love he had at becoming a father. You can't help but be happy for this mob boss turned softie at his son's birth.

This one was short, but very cute. Loved that we got a glimpse at the moment in time when life changed for Nikolai and Vivian, to see their son brought into the world and how loved he was from minute one.

A short novella which follows on from Nikolai 2 and described events leading up to the much anticipated birth of Nikolai and Vivian’s son.

Be prepared to shed some tears; because there’s nothing more emotional than the birth of a child and a father’s quiet moment when he looks into the eyes of his future and pledged his love.

Short a simple look into Nikolai and Vivian's birth of their son. Gave a good look at his sensitive side and also how he dealt with trying to keep his family safe. Seems him and his father in law have come to some sort of balance. I didn't know that he had a problem with Luka though, I thought they were pretty much cool but it seems not so much. Can't wait for the next one to come out.

Soo... 10 weeks ago I gave birth. Man did reading this trigger a lot of memories of that.
Lets just say Viv had it a lot nicer than I did.

This was a wonderful story, and once again I love seeing things from Nikolai's point of view.

On to the next installment!! (Which unfortunately isn't actually Kostya's story since that seems to be delayed indefinitely. Which is really a shame. Very much a shame.)

Everything Roxie's fans could possibly want in this wonderful short story. We get to see the intimate moments of the birth of Nikolai and Vivian's first baby. I loved being able to see into Nikolai's head. His inner thoughts are a rare treat. Absolutely marvelous Thank you so much Roxie!
