Zero Tolerance is a bold, provocative thriller that leans unapologetically into the idea of justice reclaimed—and sometimes redefined. In this intense and emotionally charged novel, Amber Cole delivers a story that blends trauma, empowerment, and moral ambiguity into a gripping vigilante narrative.
At the center is Alice Barboza, a middle school teacher whose past trauma and present frustrations push her beyond the limits of passive endurance. Her transformation from a rule-following survivor into the calculated force behind “Justice Créateur” is both unsettling and compelling. Cole doesn’t rush this evolution; instead, she allows it to build gradually, making Alice’s descent into vigilantism feel disturbingly plausible.
What makes the novel stand out is its emotional core. Alice isn’t acting in a vacuum—her relationships with her supportive husband Keith and her fiercely loyal friend Lynn ground the story.
